Luxury High Above – An Unforgettable Stay at Delaire Graff
We spent two nights at Delaire Graff Resort as a couple, and from the very first moment it was a truly special experience. The name “Delaire” comes from the French word meaning “high above” – and that is exactly how it feels. Perched above the vineyards with breathtaking views, there is a sense of serenity, exclusivity, and elevation in every way.
The entire resort is pure luxury. Everything is thoughtfully designed, refined, and unmistakably high-end down to the smallest detail. The lodges are stunning, incredibly spacious, and offer maximum privacy. We especially loved the many small surprises and thoughtful touches that awaited us throughout our stay – details that made the experience even more memorable.
The staff is exceptionally friendly, attentive, and warm. Even if service occasionally took a little longer, it was always delivered with such kindness and professionalism that we felt completely well taken care of.
Culinarily, the resort exceeds expectations. The food is outstanding – creative, refined, and of the highest quality – perfectly complemented by excellent wines from the region. A true indulgence.
Beyond architecture and gastronomy, Delaire Graff also impresses culturally. The art collection is remarkable and beautifully integrated into the surroundings. We were particularly fascinated by the garden filled with sculptures by Dylan Lewis – so much so that it inspired us to visit his sculpture garden in Stellenbosch as well.
A small downside, however, was that the absolute tranquility one might expect was not always present. In the mornings, loud machinery was occasionally operated in front of our private outdoor pool, which was not ideal during a yoga session. In addition, a television in the neighboring lodge was playing quite loudly at times. We also noticed staff members conversing loudly near the hotel’s main pool area, which carried through more than expected. In a property of this caliber, we would have appreciated a bit more sensitivity regarding quietness and atmosphere.
Nevertheless, Delaire Graff remains a place of exceptional charm and character – a retreat that uniquely combines luxury, art, nature, and culinary excellence.
We will definitely be back!
