First time eating at a Delarosa, and it did not disappoint.
Our server navigated us through the menu and made some great suggestions.
We were a party of 3, and started off with the eggplant caponatina w/ burrata, and an order of meatballs. The meatballs were nice and savory, and came in a pair, so we added an extra piece. Pro tip, ask for an extra side of crostinis so you can make your own meatball slider.
We also got a small golden beet and goat cheese salad. I'm a sucker for a beet salad and this hit the spot.
For our second course, we got the crab arancini and steak skewer. The skewer was brushed in a green sauce similar to chimichurri and came with some potatoes. It was savory and herbaceous.
We did pizza and pasta for our third course. The Parpadelle just might be my new favorite pasta. It came with a slow cooked pork red sauce. We decided to do one red and one white pizza. For the white, we did the fungi pizza, and added prosciutto to it. So much umami and earthiness, we loved it. For the red, we did the bartender pizza, and added mushrooms. I honestly could have done more spice on this once, but it was tasty.
I forgot to mention the drinks!!! I started with a salty dog which was a greyhound-esc cocktail that I could not get enough of. My partner got the Hugo spritz, and our friend ordered the Diablo. They let me have a sip, and all three were bangers. For our entree, we shared two glasses of red, but I can't remember what it was called. Our server said it was an Italian equivalent to a Pinot Noir.
We finished with a tiramisu and bombolini. The bombolini were two donuts that came with a crème anglaise and chocolate sauce. This was so light and fluffy, it was perfect. And the tiramisu was the most moist little cake I've ever had.
Overall I loved the service, the food, and the vibes of the restaurant. They were playing great music, and everyone looked like they were enjoying themselves. Definitely make a reservation for this place, so you can get a seat inside. Great job Delarosa team!
