Delfinia Hotel | Best places to stay in Corfu

"This 1960s modernist creation, sumptuously upgraded in 2018, stands out for its lush fronded gardens and from the range of services provided. An all-inclusive four-star oasis on a five-star beachfront, it has nothing to envy from its higher-rated neighbours: every room has a balcony or veranda; it offers gluten-free menus, a safe children’s playground, four pools, a tennis court, and bike rental. It also lies on the northern, more laid-back stretch of Moraitika beach. " - John Malathronas

We stayed at the Delfinia Hotel for a week following a cruise around the Greek islands. The hotel staff were attentive, welcoming and worked hard. I was especially impressed with a massage I booked with Massage Spa, Marina was brilliant so I booked a second treatment! Divine! The rooms were spotless and modern, very comfortable beds thanks to the beautifully clean sheets and mattress topper. If you need extra pillows ask, if you want a kettle ask... nothing is too much trouble. The food is plentiful and fresh, everything you could want. I would have enjoyed a drink included with my dinner, but we were half board. All in all a lovely hotel in a beautiful setting and a wonderful week.

Nice, quite hotel in the middle of nowhere. Rooms are spacious enough and clean, bed could be more comfy but overall its OK. Beach is nice, with a lot of grass area and natural shade. Breakfast and dinner are really good, a lot of choices, fresh and tasty. Beach bar is OK, but a bit pricey, and taverna is lower than average - limited choice, pricey and not worth that money.

||---||We had a lovely stay here. Everything felt very new and spotlessly clean (at least in the building we stayed in, which also houses the restaurant) – it seems to have been recently renovated. The location is perfect for a beach holiday. Staff are friendly, welcoming, and the housekeeping is excellent.||Breakfast is English-style, with plenty of fresh fruit. Dinner is tasty and varied, with a good selection including seafood. As is common in Greece, all drinks at dinner, including water, are charged separately. Most guests bring bottled water from the nearby supermarket – at the hotel, a 1‑liter bottle costs €3, whereas in the supermarket you can get six 1.5‑liter bottles for just €1.80.||The only real disappointment at breakfast was the lack of a bean‑to‑cup coffee machine, which is standard in most hotels these days. Instead, coffee is served by waiters from pots, a bit like in American roadside cafés. There’s a small capsule coffee machine, but espresso from it costs €2.50. At dinner, no hot drinks are offered at all, even for an extra charge.||There is, however, very good coffee at the beach bar – but unfortunately, it’s closed in the mornings.|

Ideally located, with a very nice garden that leads to the beach. Lots of trees in the garden offer plenty of shade, as do the straw umbrellas at the beach. The sea has crystal clear water and -after one meter of pebbles- has a sandy floor. The garden further has a swimming pool where it is nice to lie around and have a swim. The hotel itself and the rooms were nice and the staff were all very friendly and spoke German and English fluently. The restaurant offers a wide variety of food, which changes every day. The food is in buffet style and is of decent quality. If we ever return to Corfu, I'm pretty sure that we'd go to the same hotel.

We have spent 1 week at Delfinia. Everything was as expected, the room was big enough, clean, the service was good, and overall the resort is very well maintained. The food at breakfast and dinner was better than expected. One thing that might be improved is the coffee, maybe you can add some specialty coffee that is not free of charge. We went to get the coffee every morning from a very nice Bakery close to the hotel.

Our recent stay at the Delfinia Hotel in Moraitika left us with a mixed impression, largely disappointing. Our arrival was marred by an extremely unpleasant experience in the first room. The room was extremely hot due to a non-functional air conditioner. Worse, a pervasive and strong sewer odour permeated the room for the entire first night, causing severe nausea. Attempts to get fresh air by opening the balcony sliding door were quickly abandoned due to incessant barking and howling from neighbours' dogs. The next day, we asked for a room change. After several hours of waiting, we were finally moved to a new room near the restaurant. While this solved the immediate smell problem, the new room lacked adequate sound insulation. We could easily hear conversations in the next room, and the constant flow of people into and out of the restaurant was extremely disruptive. To add to the noise, we were disturbed by a neighbouring guest's small dog, which was left to bark while its owners dined. We decided not to complain again because we were still exhausted from the first night's lack of sleep. We also found the food to be monotonous during our stay. Furthermore, the drinks were quite expensive when compared to the prices at the local tavernas and restaurants in Moraitika village. The hotel's public areas, especially around the pool, are clean and quiet. We appreciated the absence of loud music. The gardens are very well-kept and lovely. Finally, we enjoyed seeing several friendly hotel cats roaming freely around the grounds, which added to the charm. The beautiful gardens and quiet pool could not make up for the first room's unacceptable condition, the second room's subsequent poor soundproofing, and the overall disruption to our peace and sleep. Given the price and the fundamental discomfort we experienced, we do not believe the Delfinia Hotel provides adequate value, and we will not be returning.

Stayed at Delfinia for 7 nights half board. Lovely quiet hotel, with few lovely cats roaming in the gardens. Guests age brackets is from 40 years old up. Food is a mix of Greek, German and English dishes, plenty to choose from. At dinner you have to pay for wine, beer, water, fruit juice etc. Clean rooms, good air con, nice hot showers, towels changed every 2 days. There is some entertainment every night at the beach bar. Hotel is on the beach, so not much to walk to get there. Clean shallow water, a bit pebbly when you get in. Bus stop to Corfu town at the end of road. Supermarket opposite the bus stop.

Having been to Dassia on two previous very enjoyable holidays we thought a beach south of Corfu town would be a new experience this year. The TUI flight from Cardiff was very good and timings suited us. We chose the Delfinia mainly for the extensive gardens with trees to offer shade and ease sunbed issues. How wrong we were. The hotel is a large complex of 4 buildings and is clean and well maintained. End of Good Points.|The dining room, Bar and Tavern are in separate buildings. There is Zero atmosphere. No music, no laughter no attempt at a warm welcome. Reception similar to a Health Centre book in. The staff all speak German. No info pack. Just keys to the room. Superior Room was ok nothing special but sea view was as requested.|Even when asked info on Taxi, Boat Trips other Hotels it was Not provided.|The Tavern is open for lunch at a hefty cost with a limited menu and surly staff. The food at breakfast was ok, fresh fried eggs every day. No tea or coffee machines, juice was cordial. Premises and cutlery similar to a works canteen. Dinner was in two sittings 6 or 8 pm.. the food buffet was repetitive and bland.. no moussaka ,fresh fish or souvlaki in 7 days.? In Greece.? The large bar is deserted at night, due to high prices for both hot and cold drinks. The staff are miserable and demotivated seem in fear of the management? Very Strange.|The weather was excellent all week, so the pool and sea bathing saved our holiday. The pool was closed at 6pm by the sunbed man who also then toured the grounds and started to stack any vacant sunbeds away around us?Weird. Will not return.
