Delfinia Hotel | Best places to stay in Corfu

"This 1960s modernist creation, sumptuously upgraded in 2018, stands out for its lush fronded gardens and from the range of services provided. An all-inclusive four-star oasis on a five-star beachfront, it has nothing to envy from its higher-rated neighbours: every room has a balcony or veranda; it offers gluten-free menus, a safe children’s playground, four pools, a tennis court, and bike rental. It also lies on the northern, more laid-back stretch of Moraitika beach. " - John Malathronas

We have spent 1 week at Delfinia. Everything was as expected, the room was big enough, clean, the service was good, and overall the resort is very well maintained. The food at breakfast and dinner was better than expected. One thing that might be improved is the coffee, maybe you can add some specialty coffee that is not free of charge. We went to get the coffee every morning from a very nice Bakery close to the hotel.

The feeling is mixed. Hotel has great location, is just by the sea, is clean and very well kept. It has beatiful garden, swimming pool, two bars in the garden, one restaurant. It is just 30 minuts from the Corfu town, a supermarket and bus stop is just by the entrance to the complex... The sea is nice, quiet so far, warm and easy to enter. It is not overcrowded. But(without order): the service in the bars is very very slow, I had an impression the waiters are playing a specific game who serves less customers... The beach is as wide as is the length of a bed, there is only one row of beds, therefore useless, the morning game to guarantee your place in the gardem is embarrasing, its rule is basicly set up an alarm clock at 5am, run to the garden, grab your sunbed, find your tree to be protected from sun, put a towel ang go to finish overnight sleeping. There are a few sun umbrelas around the swimming pool but the majority of people must use the trees in the garden. I am on holiday, I like to relax. Not to be stressed. That is why I find the concept wrong. I would tolerate higher prices in the bars, I would accept the slow service in the bars, but the morning excercise is ruining my holiday.

Ideally located, with a very nice garden that leads to the beach. Lots of trees in the garden offer plenty of shade, as do the straw umbrellas at the beach. The sea has crystal clear water and -after one meter of pebbles- has a sandy floor. The garden further has a swimming pool where it is nice to lie around and have a swim. The hotel itself and the rooms were nice and the staff were all very friendly and spoke German and English fluently. The restaurant offers a wide variety of food, which changes every day. The food is in buffet style and is of decent quality. If we ever return to Corfu, I'm pretty sure that we'd go to the same hotel.

Lovely setting with beach, pool and gardens. Clean rooms, with air con and Wifi all working well. ||The hotel was directly on the beach, with its own sunbeds. However there didn’t seem to be enough beds for everyone so usual dash in the morning to reserve them.||We had a lovely room (723) that had great views of the beach and the distant hills. There’s a fly screen on the balcony which was great.||Great location , gardens reach onto beach, very clean pool area. Local to plenty of restaurants and bars within 10 mins walk. Drinks prices in hotels beach bar a bit overpriced but probably paying for beach setting. Generally quiet as there is not a lot to do in the area either day or night. Bar had entertainment on most evenings.||Food, OK. Breakfast has reasonable choice but Dinner was average and lacked a bit of choice & quality, for me. For a 4 star hotel, I would say the food was average.

This was our 7th stay at this hotel. Fabulous hotel directly on the beach. Well worth their Blue Flag status , renewed for another year. The gardens are kept in immaculate condition . We stayed in a Superior room with garden view which was lovely. The WiFi here is great and still works at the beach. The pool area is never over crowded from what I saw but we spent our days on the beach with the free loungers provided. The sea water is crystal clear and you can walk out a long way without getting too deep.|Had breakfast every day in the restaurant but did eat out in the evening quite a bit as there are so many lovely tavernas close by. Breakfasts were lovely (maybe could have been a bit warmer) and the evening meals when we did stay in were good also with a good choice on offer.|All staff made us feel very welcome including reception staff, restaurant waiters, bar staff and management. Special shout out to Andreas, Spyros and not forgetting Stratos and Costas all of whom we had a giggle with when passing. |Looking forward to booking again for next year!

This hotel was lovely.|Clean, staff friendly and helpful.|Room was modern, quiet with a lovely view of pool and sea beyond. (Room 417)|Good choice of food, always found something we liked. The desserts were lush. |Short walk into village where there are a few shops and supermarkets. |Plenty of sunbeds, a large stack that you can place in the gardens or on the beach, no charge. |We took the hotel shuttle into Corfu town, 15 euro return each. |Lots of places to have lunch a short walk along the beachfront or a drink in the evening. (We were half board)|The only negative is that at dinner, if you want water the only option is a large bottle for 3 euros. Shame there wasn't the option for a small bottle. |All in all a lovely, relaxing, chilled out holiday.

We stayed here after a cruise for 3 nights & it was the best 3 days of the holiday. Hotel was beautiful, room was perfect, staff were lovely.|The breakfast buffet was great, we didn’t eat evening meals there.|The beach at the hotel was good, lots of sun beds available. Nice walk from hotel along the beach with other bars & restaurants.|Would definitely recommend & hope to return.

Having been to Dassia on two previous very enjoyable holidays we thought a beach south of Corfu town would be a new experience this year. The TUI flight from Cardiff was very good and timings suited us. We chose the Delfinia mainly for the extensive gardens with trees to offer shade and ease sunbed issues. How wrong we were. The hotel is a large complex of 4 buildings and is clean and well maintained. End of Good Points.|The dining room, Bar and Tavern are in separate buildings. There is Zero atmosphere. No music, no laughter no attempt at a warm welcome. Reception similar to a Health Centre book in. The staff all speak German. No info pack. Just keys to the room. Superior Room was ok nothing special but sea view was as requested.|Even when asked info on Taxi, Boat Trips other Hotels it was Not provided.|The Tavern is open for lunch at a hefty cost with a limited menu and surly staff. The food at breakfast was ok, fresh fried eggs every day. No tea or coffee machines, juice was cordial. Premises and cutlery similar to a works canteen. Dinner was in two sittings 6 or 8 pm.. the food buffet was repetitive and bland.. no moussaka ,fresh fish or souvlaki in 7 days.? In Greece.? The large bar is deserted at night, due to high prices for both hot and cold drinks. The staff are miserable and demotivated seem in fear of the management? Very Strange.|The weather was excellent all week, so the pool and sea bathing saved our holiday. The pool was closed at 6pm by the sunbed man who also then toured the grounds and started to stack any vacant sunbeds away around us?Weird. Will not return.
