Quebec French Language Watchdog Makes First Announcement of Restaurant Fine Since Budget Boost | Eater Montreal

"On Bernard Street, I reported that the kosher deli was hit with a $1,500 fine from Quebec’s language watchdog, the Office québécois de la langue française, for displaying English-only exterior signage; the OQLF deemed this a violation of article 58 of the Charter of the French Language (Bill 101), which requires business facade signs to feature French more prominently. The agency said it had tried to contact the restaurant for as long as two years before the infraction was documented on May 22, 2019, and the restaurant was later found guilty on June 25, 2020, with the announcement made on October 15, 2020. The case prompted criticism from Montrealers who argued that fining struggling restaurants during the pandemic was harmful, and Eater reached out to Deli 365 for comment." - Valerie Silva

Where to Eat Jewish Cuisine in Montreal | Eater Montreal

"This kosher lunch spot on Bernard does sandwiches, including smoked meat and chicken schnitzel, and has a few falafel and shawarma options. It’s a relatively new underdog, but the food shapes up." - Heather Vandenengel

Had a smoked meat sandwich- my first ever, I think. It was pretty good but blander than pastrami. Be aware that there is no sit down space here- it's take out only.

The smoked beef sandwich was amazing! Tender beef like nothing we have in NY. My son, who is not a huge fan of Pastrami, loved it. The best part is that it is 100% kosher.

Ordered the schnitzel through UberEats .. it was burnt and inedible.. hard as wood. Would not recommend at all. Large portion is a plus, hence the 2 Stars but burnt kills everything

It's a very small place but always busy. The food is delicious and not as expensive as I had thought. The cashier was very nice and patient, even the person in the sandwich counter helped me to decide. I strongly recommend the schnitzel baguette, it's delicious, same for the hot dogs in blanket

Food is delicious and prices ok. But BEWARE the prices to order on Uber is EXTREMELY HIGH! I always want to order when i can't go out but I don't afford it knowing that the price in store is way lower.

This bakery offers a nice selection of kosher baked goods & hot meals. No seating available however. I interacted with two people there. The younger guy was pleasant. The guy with the beard was a bit of an ass. I am clearly not Jewish and he scolded me for not knowing meat & cheese don't go together under Kosher law. I do not personally know any Jewish people that practice their faith actively so I don't know the specifics of Kosher law. Happy to learn but he could have been nicer about it. Anyways, the food was pretty enjoyable although a bit pricy. I'm pretty sure they microwaved the goods too.
