Restaurant Deli Boyz Sues UberEats, DoorDash, and More Over ‘Abusive’ Fees | Eater Montreal

"Located in Cavendish Mall in Côte St‑Luc, I report that Déli Boyz has filed a class-action application in Quebec Superior Court against UberEats, DoorDash and SkipTheDishes, alleging the commissions charged to restaurants are “exorbitant and abusive” under article 1437 of the Quebec Civil Code. Filed on January 8 and seeking to represent all Quebec restaurants charged commissions exceeding 15 percent, the suit asks to recoup damages going back exactly two years and says that recovery would amount to tens of thousands of dollars for them alone. The filing gives a concrete example: from December 27, 2020 to January 4, 2021 Déli Boyz says it paid UberEats $737.17 in commissions on 67 orders totalling about $2,550 — versus $367.46 had fees been capped at 15 percent as in British Columbia or Ontario. Déli Boyz contends it has become dependent on UberEats to sustain a viable takeout business, and although it offers its own delivery service it cannot compete with platform promotions (such as 30 percent off orders of $50); the application seeks an injunction to stop third-party services charging commissions above 15 percent and is awaiting a judge’s approval. The news follows calls from Montreal Mayor Valérie Plante and a motion from Ensemble Montréal urging limits on delivery fees during COVID-19 lockdown measures." - Valerie Silva

I ordered the 20 chicken wings meal, but could only get 14. The pieces were quite small and the terriyaki sauce didn't really come through. I liked the fries!

Very friendly owner who was acommodating of requests and took the time to go through the menu. Our group had a smoked meat sandwhich with coldslaw and french fries. There was plentiful amounts of meat. I highly recommend this place if you are looking for authentic smoked meat which is kosher or halal

Food wasn't great, meat poutine tasted off, the burger was dry but fine, fries were also ok

I used to like their food, but the use of AI images online is unprofessional and looks gross honestly. According to friends, new management has ruined the place, I don’t doubt it.

All the products are halal. They do not sell pork products. I think it is a great place and the employees are amazing ♥️

If you’ve never experienced the cavendish mall food court. It’s the closest thing you’ll get to Israel in Canada. There are so many great kosher options here. Deli Boyz is the best spot of them all! Deli Boyz has some fantastic smoked meat. Makes the experience all that more amazing. It’s worth a try.
