This place is amazing, food tasted just like my mom’s cooking.
It is pricey and that’s only thing that upsets me because this homestyle food should not be more than $20
However, everything outside of great is authentic. The ladies working there are sweet but they clearly do this for the love of food and for the Guatemalan will to serve. But they are NOT service industry workers meaning, don’t come in here expecting restaurant hospitality. The hospitality here is for their own people, in that way, this could seem unattractive to tourists, non Spanish speaking people, this spot is definitely a ‘If You Know You Know.’
But if you do know, then you’re in for a really great meal that tastes like home. There’s a reason all the food delivery messengers come here for their lunch. It’s Guatemala in New York.
I got: Bistec De Pollo w/ Rice and Beans + Tortillas + Water + Pastry for $24.50
