Ordered a turkey bacon 🥓 avocado 🥑 sandwich 🥪 and a side of macaroni salad waited about 15 minutes for the sandwich ( it was ok ) looked really big but it was just the bread 🥖 not much bacon 🥓 or avocado 🥑 on the sandwich. Macaroni salad was good ( had a pickle and garlic taste ) not my favorite but it was good also got a soda total $28.67 way too much for a sandwich meal

The guy who took my order was very dry Like he didn’t even wanna be there. You could tell by the way he was stacking the soda case. I ordered the fuego cheesesteak which was THEE MOST FLAVORLESS “CHEESESTEAK” I’ve ever had in my life. For $20 a sandwich you’d think the portion size would be decent. They’re very skimpy!! The bread is apparently their “crunchy Italian” AKA STALE ITALIAN BREAD. It’s barely soft, it falls apart and flakes all over the place. If you don’t eat the sandwich while it’s hot you’ll be coming back to crouton bread later. The steak was so chewy and the sandwich was so bland despite the “chipotle mayo” it held no flavor whatsoever I had them make my sandwich over becuhs i didn’t like how HARD the bread was. Just to have them give me another sandwich just as hard. honestly I left extremely disappointed and I’ll never return. Don’t believe the hype in these reviews. Overpriced mediocre sandwiches with bare minimum customer service

So many people I know, love this place and don't get me wrong-the food is fresh and tastes great. My only gripe is that I'm not a fan of the bread, it's too flaky for my taste. I noticed that I wasn't the only one dropping crumbs everwhere. People I went with explained that D'Elia's is known for their bread... it just wasn't favorite. If you love deli style sandwiches though, definitely check this place out!

Google
The vibe of this restaurant feels dead. I walked in and was greeted very coldly. In addition, there was 5 females all under the age of 21 in the back making my sandwich. Why would they have 5 young people who look like they are barely old enough to graduate high school for one sandwich that had more lettuce and tomato than meat. No lie the turkey sandwich i bought had less than 1/16th of an inch of meat and the bread taste different? Accordingly, I reviewed other reviews and the bread is in fact different.

I am 63 years old and have been coming here since I was a kid. I visited with my daughter today, 8/31/25 and we ordered two fully loaded pastrami sandwiches and two cookies. The pastrami was extremely greasy, tough and tasted like old meat. The bread doesn’t taste how it used to and both my daughter and i ended up throwing an entire half of our full sized sandwich in the trash. We used to love the quality of Delia’s and have always spoken very highly of this establishment. The quality isn’t living up the the memory of what once was, even back 10years ago. Prices are up and quality is down. I’m sad to say but I will no longer be returning. Quality at Delia’s is a thing of the past.

My dad brought me here to eat for the first time. They have a nice menu for sandwiches, which are huge. The bread is hard and a challenge to eat but delicious. The fries are good and I enjoyed the meal. I liked that they had a person to make sure the dining area was clean for people to eat in.

Google
Very surprised. After reading the reviews I was excited. Dirty place, reeking of weed, not selling french fries, & very hard bread (see pic). The toppings that I paid extra for were only on half of my "Half Size" sandwich. The bread must have been quite old to be that hard. We arrived 2.5 hours before closing, but as we were eating the staff started doing their closing list (putting the chairs & tables away, etc). My husband liked the cookies he ordered, so that's why I gave them a second star. I don't recommend, but maybe I arrived on an evening with no manager? 🤔🤷‍♀️

Google
They have been a favorite for California's for years. While visiting for the weekend, husband wanted a pastrami sandwich. Very tasty and perfect size. They are known for their made fresh bread. It's really delicious. They have many varieties to choose from. Didn't disappoint. Sit down and eat or take home.

Yelp
I grew up in the IE, and we always went to a place in Ontario called Grinder Haven. Growing up with them, no other grinder, hoagie, or submarine sandwich has ever compared. Sadly, they went out of business many years ago. I had heard rumor that D'Elis's was owned by one of the same families, so set out on a quest to try them... I was NOT disappointed! The fresh baked bread was just as I remembered & my taste buds were singing. Can't wait till I'm passing through again. I know where I'll be!

Yelp
Just wanted some sort of sub and remembered about this place and they have another location as well. Been to the other one and never to this one tho. Kinda felt bad cuz I got a call as we were ordering. But girl was informative of the menu. Seemed more like just order and pay vibe but hey I am here to just order and pay lolz. The inside was pretty specious compared to other the location. Kinda weird they had some booths and no tables but serves good space to wait. Ahahahahaha The real review here it is: Pastrami 8/10 not really for me tbh but I do love pickles soooo heyyyyy maybe not for me but it's for you. But my brother in law and sister ate a big fam. Philly D'fuego 9/10 it was good but needed more spice for me. Girl said it was spicy and ppl complained it was spicy. But not spicy amount for me ahahahahh. It ain't spicy if it doesn't make me cry but def has potential?!! Would order again with some extra sauce Fries 1000/10 everyone's loves them!!! Best fries in Riverside Overall all good was good. Maybe a bit in the pricier side but then also big sizes imo.

Yelp
Decided to redeem my bday cash with a D' Sicilian, grinder was basically half priced. It was Sunday at 11:30 am. Smooth transaction and while I waited (less than 10 minutes) I noticed great staffing, getting ready for the upcoming rush. Although the place was quiet, customer facing employees should at least appear busy. They were pleasant and helpful, I even bought a 70th t-shirt. The discounts and specials keep me coming back, not to mention the bread! It's the bread!
google avatar

Elizabeth M.

Yelp
Bread was to heard not soft at all. Dry sandwich Org Italian. Pastrami sandwich too fatty and taste like your eating straight grease. Gave this place a second shot and again was very disappointed. $47 for two ft longs & 2 drinks.

Nicole C.

Yelp
Overpriced sandwich, meat to bread ratio sucks hardly had any meat in it. Service was friendly when ordering but my order slow coming out.

Nick S.

Yelp
Turkey sandwich has ONE PIECE of meat on one side only. It's all bread at a ridiculous price.

Yelp
We live in Montana so just passing through on vacation. The capicola grinder was delicious just like I remember having gone there since the 60's. Service was great. Prices have changed, obviously. Whenever we pass by Riverside we stop at D'Elia's. I highly recommend this eatery.

Glenda W.

Yelp
Our service was wonderful and food fresh and as expected! We live 5 hrs away and will eat there if we are within an hour from them! My Dad and The Twins played football together in college so it was a place we frequently went growing up. Love my veggie grinder big time! It was great as usual! Family enjoys the turkey and tuna ones best. Love love love DElias' yummmmm

Yelp
Decided to try this place while I was in town. Staff is super friendly and helpful. Sandwiches are decent... they give you a ton of options to select from when you order online.

Yelp
I ordered the Cuban sandwich for the first time and it was AMAZING. I I loved all the flavors. It was packed as well so the ambiance was good and the girl that helped me, Delilah, was very kind asking me if I needed any side condiments or anything. Will be back again

Yelp
I have been coming here since the 80's and it's still just as good. I remember when D'Elias was just a walk-up window and the lines would be long!! I don't get to Riverside as much anymore, but when we are near we have to stop and get these unique grinders. The bread is something you can't get anywhere else. Flaky ,crispy on the outside, soft where you need it and all the flavor of an italian sub inside . Yes Please!!

Lisa M.

Yelp
Service was excellent. The person who took the order on the phone was courteous and helpful. My order was ready in a timely manner and the staff inside were attentive. I would definitely recommend D'Elias to everyone.

Yelp
I grew up in Rubidoux as my Dad was first a teacher at Jurupa Jr. High way back in the 60's and then a Counselor at Mission Jr. High for the next 40 something year's of his work life until his retirement. We all started going to D'Elia's original grinder shop in Rubidoux known with the family name, "Perrone's". We love their grinders which ever name they use. Always the Best!

Mariano S.

Yelp
Once again the capicola grinder was on point and the service was excellent as always. Thank you so much.

Yelp
We've been getting grinders from this place forever... the food is always delicious!!!

Yelp
I've been wanting my Genoa salami grinder for some time now and today I got it. Delicious and fresh as always, my parents would bring us here to eat for years as children. Brought back some great memories today. Very happy
google avatar

Brian P.

Yelp
As usual, grinders are always excellent. The good news, no homeless and the booths are back for sitting
google avatar

Yelp
still one of the best breads out there, love the taste, flavor, texture of it. All around great grinder.

Yelp
Stopped in for the monthly Jeep night and met with a fine gathering of like minded folks in the parking lot, along with the owner. Once inside, you could see that this establishment has quite the following. Ordering went smoothly and there were plenty of selections to choose from, I picked the Sicilian sandwich with fries and a drink. The sandwich was very tasty and the bread roll (freshly made) was the crowning glory...Im definitely trying the pastrami next time, I hear it's amazing.

Yelp
I haven't posted in a while. On Thursday went to get dinner and I noticed that the dining area has been upgreated with new seats and tables. Although my dinner was to go. For a weekend visit when I crave another Grinder with fries and a drink. I'll dine in and sit on the new tables. Thank you.

Yelp
Heard great things about this place and put it on my list to try when I passed through the area.... Well, that day finally came! I'm a sucker for an Italian Sub so I got the Italian Grinder! I'm always on the hunt for a great sandwich joint and I heard the bread was really great here so I was excited to try it. It was definitely tasty! They are not stingy with the meat and cheese... I love that! The bread was good, not oh my goodness great, but I'm not complaining at all. Because of reading reviews I don't know what I was expecting! Lol I absolutely recommend this place! The young guy that helped me was super friendly and very helpful as I told him it was my first time in. The decor is nothing fancy. Perfect lunch spot if you're in the mood for a sandwich!

Yelp
Was having a conversation with my Mom who grew up in Riverside in the 50's. We were talking about the amazing subs she remembers that came from your shop. Unfortunately I didn't grow up in southern CA, but spent many summers with my Grandparents there. Remember my Aunt bringing grinders home for us and some of her other friends. My brother and I had spent the day at a water park with one of my aunts friends. What a treat to find a bunch of your grinder subs waiting for us. Think i was maybe 12 or 13 and think i ate a whole one by myself. It had to be hands down. the best sub I've ever eaten! Trust me I've eaten a lot of subs from Chicago to the west coast. Pretty sure I could live on sandwiches especially subs coming from your shop. Only wish we could find something so delicious here in Hilo Hawaii. They're honestly isn't a good sub shop here. But anytime I'm in Southern California. You know I'm going to make my way to your restaurant.. only wish you could ship me one or the bread to make one and the juice. Anyway, thank you for the nostalgia that comes with your food. My mom and I were both craving some of your bread and the juice that you put on top of the sandwich. I could literally just dip the bread in the juice. Again, thanks for a great product. I hope this continues for the generations to come.

Yelp
I ordered thru door dash a roast beef dip au jus sandwich with light mayo and it came disassembled no mayo. Plenty of fries. Bread was too crusty and beef lacked flavor. Beef au jus sauce came open and was everywhere (not packed right or handled properly. Door dash driver was different from who was assigned.

Yelp
The food was fresh, tasty, and the help at the counter was very friendly SMS efficient.
google avatar

Yelp
Food and service were both great! The ambiance was good too but I think oldies but goodies are great tunes to listen to. Delia's is always a treat and today's service was awesome.
google avatar

Yelp
It has been a few years since I've been here. It is still just as good. I appreciate the longtime tradition this establishment continues to carry on. It brings back memories of my Dad taking us for a drive & ending up here. What a treat!

Helen H.

Yelp
My grandmother who is now 92 took me here 30 years ago and I had my first grinder. She would tell me about how when she first started going here she would buy a grinder for 35 cents. Growing up it was always a treat to go to D'Elia's. I no longer live in Southern California but every time I am remotely close, my family swings by and grabs a grinder. It is by far the best sandwich we have ever had. The thin shaven lettuce, fresh deli meat & cheese, which is the perfect ratio or meat to cheese, and the freshest most delicious bread. D'Elia's is not only delicious but also a forever cherished memory.
google avatar

M S.

Yelp
Same as I remember when I lived in Riverside many years ago. Maybe a bit light on meat and veggies but same delicious bread. On team oil and dried pepper flakes. YUM! Going back for another before heading home to Northern CA. Ambiance, appears clean, locked bathrooms with combo so also clean. Staff friendly. Food is the reason to be there-GREAT!
google avatar

Olga H.

Yelp
Great atmosphere is sandwiches, potato salad, especially their cupcakes. They are very delicious!

Tree S.

Yelp
People actually like this place? Tried it once a couple years ago and wasn't impressed. Decided to give it another shot just cause I was in the area and maybe I'd try something different. But nope. Supper light grinder filled with mostly lettuce. Not sure if you have to order extra meat or what but it seems intentionally skimpy and fairly flavorless for how expensive it is. Enough to make me actually feel compelled to leave a review which I don't normally do. Oh well you live and learn. Fool me once shame on you. Fool me twice....yuh....yuh can't get fooled again.

Frank P.

Yelp
If you've never been to D'Elias and you like a good sub sandwich this is a must. None better.
google avatar

Luxx P.

Yelp
First time coming here I'm sorry, but the customer service was not good. I think they were upset cause we got there an hour before closing so they were not really greeting us so great. I heard they're known for the bread, but I'm sorry not for me. It was too hard. Crumbs fell all over the place. Couldn't really enjoy it. and then we order a cheeseburger too and the burgers were burnt not a very good pleasant experience atmosphere was pretty good. It is a big spot. I heard it gets really packed, but like I said, I was there an hour before closing and I heard a lot of good things about this place but I'm sorry it's just not for me

Yelp
There is nothing like a D'Elias Grinder, they have been a staple in Riverside since 1953! I remember eating these as a little girl, we insisted on getting them every time we went out to my grandmother's house (and we currently still stop EVERY time we go out to the desert or to Vegas or really for no reason at all we just drive out on a random Sunday) We can't stay away! They still taste exactly as I remember 40ish years ago... and that is one of the best things about D'Elias, they literally have not changed the quality or the taste over the years. You know exactly what to expect and it always tastes the same... Oh and I CAN confidentially confirm... it really IS the bread! (p.s. Have patience when you go here, the in-restaurant service is usually always slow. Sometimes it's because they get a LOT of takeout orders (catering and food delivery services like door dash etc... and a lot of phone in orders) and unfortunately sometimes it's slow because they have a bunch of high school aged kids (that lack proper management) and stand around and chit chat... It is what it is and it's been like that for the last few years... we know it and we expect it. The good thing is, the food is still GREAT even if you have to wait longer than you should!)

ceejay l.

Yelp
This is hands-down, my favorite place to eat a sandwich. My go to grinder is always the ham with all the toppings minus the sprouts. I've been coming here since I was in high school in the 1980s. There's just something about the bread that keeps you coming back. Yes, they could put more meat (they will if you pay extra.) and the bread to topping ratio might be off, but it's still a crave worthy sandwich that keeps me coming back. We usually get our sandwiches to go, but we've also enjoyed a cool evening on the patio. Service is usually average. Our orders are usually correct and the employees do their job.
google avatar

Jim K.

Yelp
The sandwiches are the best tasting grinders I have ever had. What makes them so good? The rolls that they use. Very crusty on the outside but soft inside. Very good.
google avatar

David S.

Yelp
Southern California is a pastrami grinder paradise. D'Elia's pastrami has an excellent flavor. They just need to figure out how to keep juicy without making the bread soggy. Their pastrami grinder gets a 9 out of 10. It wouldn't take much to move it to a 10 but it was just too soggy. Also they had banana pepper slices rather than hot yellow wax peppers. It was the biggest grinder I've had during this trip to California so if you go here bring a friend to help you eat or plan on bringing half of it home for later.
google avatar

Raquel M.

Yelp
I have loved D'Elias's Grinders for years. The ham grinder with extra oil and crushed peppers is my go to order. Recently I started adding cucumbers, sprouts, and bell pepper to my grinder, it tastes great with the ham and i highly recommend it. The macaroni salad is very tasty, refreshing and pairs wonderfully with a grinder. I like to order ahead of time and Pick up my order. It saves me a lot of time and is very convenient.

Gloria A.

Yelp
The piece of turkey was so thin you could see through it. I have been going to Delias since the 70s I don't eat out anymore so this was a treat. Very disappointing

Tom M.

Yelp
Highly recommended by a friend. Service was great, got the salami, ham and capicola sandwich, really good cold cuts, but the bread was very stale and had to be returned. The Philly cheesesteak recommended by staff, was bland and disappointing. Likely just a bad day. I'll give it another try in the future.
google avatar

Kat M.

Yelp
I love D'Elia's ham grinder's and fries so good. The grinders are a love or hate because of the bread it is crunchy which I love. It has remained the same over the last 20 years always good. I eat here at least 3xs a month and never get tired of it. I recommend you give it a try.
google avatar

Jimmy J.

Yelp
There was no mayo no mustard no oil or vinegar. The sandwich is extremely dry. Have ate here before and got the same sandwich just not good,..
google avatar

Derika D.

Yelp
Jasmine at your Orangecrest location is phenomenal!!Ive been coming to DElias since the 80's when u were down on Washington and Van Buren! And its always had the same great taste and quality ingredients!!
google avatar

Oscar C.

Yelp
All ways delivers had never a problem with my oder satisfaction at 100 percent dilias is been to to go wen I am in moreno valley or perris have to have Delias every chace I can get it been a Custer late 80's
google avatar

Maribel R.

Yelp
Had this sandwich place on my bucket list, Wow this has to be the worst sandwich I've ever eaten. Horrible to be exact. The bread is so dry and hard it felt like a sandwich on crackers. Please go elsewhere. Tummy Stuffers or Cheba Hut. I did complain and asked for softer bread and they said they're known for their bread to be crumbly, yikes!!! Never again will I dine here.
google avatar

Tony V.

Yelp
Usually, the pastrami sandwich is very good, but this last time it was not good , pastrami sandwich was wet bread, greasy terrible tasty like they just boil it. I'll never go back! wet greasy the bread was soggy before we started eating it. I've never experienced such a bad bad. I used to eat there back in the 80s and I'm never going back so sad to see all this. You know non-caring people for the company that don't belong there Tony
google avatar

Madara U.

Yelp
Okay this was the worst sandwich I ever had they don't give you any meat it was tasteless horrible there are better sandwich places in Riverside cheba Hut is fire in downtown Riverside go there
google avatar

T Q.

Yelp
I was a bit disappointed in this place, nothing really stood out as good or great. The turkey had no flavor, and the bread is mediocre at best. The cashier did not welcome or greet, she just stood there and looked at me until I started to order. The sandwiches are stacked and hearty, so there is no lack or shortage of meat and veggies, but I wish the overall quality of the meat, bread and veggies was better.
google avatar

Kathleen R.

Yelp
I really wanted to like this place since it's a staple in riverside and there's so many good reviews . However I order their club sub and the bread was so unbelievably hard (maybe it's because I went in the evening and the bread isn't fresh idk) but once I took everything out and used my own bread it was delicious their meats are good . My partner had a steak and cheese sub he was not a fan of it , the steak had too much fat and not enough flavor . We also order their cookies which were good .
google avatar

Mike S.

Yelp
Wow big juicy and tasty the big g Sicilian perfect when you need a good sub and the cost is not bad this place is perfect I highly recommend this place
