This is another location to get donuts and bagels. I’ve never been to a donut shop where it has a self-serving coffee station. Usually, staff will have to give you coffee cups. The place is small also where I came in. I kinda thought it might be quite bigger based on what I looked up online. They also serve certain pastries too, but don’t know if that’s common on other donut places. I wouldn’t normally go here since it’s not a local restaurant, but would come here if I feel like I need to stop by here and eat.

Google
Great donuts. New owners have cleaned the place up and it’s nice to sit there and eat now. Prices are reasonable too. $8 for coffee bagel and donut. The lady there always gives me an extra donut hole with my donut.

Soru L.

Google
Really beautiful donuts and sandwiches. Sandwich was very tender and well seasoned and held together. Donuts were tender and bright. Got 2 extra donut holes. 5/5

Best donuts ever. Icing was like my grandmas!! Donuts were better than crispy cream donut or Dunkin’ Donuts.

What an unfortunate downturn of quality that this shop has went through. The last time I visited this shop was several years ago. We ate our delicious donuts at the shop, took home some sandwiches to enjoy at our hotel room. Having saved this as a favorite, I was extremely disappointed to find the shop in such disarray. No more seating, front fridges are used for storing ingredients, our filled donuts came without filling .. in any case, I don't imagine this shop to stay open for much longer; at least not under this management.

Google
We got Jalapeño bagels and it was bone dry and it didn’t help that there was barely any cream cheese.

Google
Love me some donuts, and I am voting this as the best standard donut spot near Union City.

The best donut shop in the area also the best sandwiches handmade to order in super friendly staff

Yelp
Was craving donuts and decided to try too good to go! Paid $6 for 9 donuts! I would say this was super worth it. Inside was clean. Since it was our first time using too good to go, we weren't sure how everything worked, the lady at the shop helped us a bit. We got two original glazed, maple bar, apple fritter, maple old fashion, and four sprinkle/glazed cake donuts! I only tried the maple bar and apple fritter, and it was good! As an apple fritter lover, I wouldn't say this was my favorite one. It was SUPER SWEET! which I love sweets but to me, I thought it was a bit too sweet. Overall, I do recommend for people trying this place out! I think the donuts are definitely well made.

Yelp
DONUTS OR BAGELS I like to go to different "mom and pops" donut shops. Besides donuts I enjoy bagels also. My favorite bagel sandwich lox and bagel. My favorite donut is a maple French cruller. I came here one morning. I ordered a French cruller. I was also delighted to find lox and bagel was sold here. The maple on the French cruller was too intense for my liking as I prefer a slight taste of maple. The lox and bagel was better as the bagel was slightly toasted. The next time I came here for a donut I ordered apple fritter, which is my second favorite donut. I liked the flatness of the apple fritter, which something different than I've had in the past. I tasted the sweetness, but not enough apple. As with last time I ordered a bagel. This time it was blueberry bagel and cream cheese. The toasted blueberry bagel with cream cheese is a great match. With the previous visit I preferred the bagel over the donut. On my next visit I had the ube donut. I didn't have bagel this time but a breakfast croissant sandwich, which consisted of sausage, bacon, egg, and cheese. Of all the donuts I've eaten at Delicious Donuts and Bagels my favorite has been the ube. I liked the ube because the frosting had enough test of the ube without the overwhelming flavor in comparison to the French cruller. The breakfast sandwich was ok but still tasty. On my last visit I had a bagel breakfast sandwich - chorizo and egg. The chorizo provided a nice, slight, spicy flavor however I loved the fluffiness of the egg. Also what made this bagel sandwich really tasty was the toasted bagel that was light and airy. Here's what I think on my multiple visits to Delicious Donuts and Bagels. The donuts are ok, but the bagels are extraordinary. I would give Delicious Donuts and Bagels a higher rating if this place was specifically a bagel shop.

Yelp
I'm always on the hunt for a good breakfast bagel shop and randomly came across this while scrolling through yelp. When we got there it took about 5 min total between us ordering, paying, and receiving our b-fast bagel, which i am thoroughly impressed with! We ordered a #11 on a jalapeño bagel, which was breakfast sausage, bacon, egg & cheese on your choice of bagel/croissant. I would say that it seems like the bagels themselves are a tad smaller than I expected, and unlike some bagel shops, they have the jalapeño slices imbedded in the dough, rather than sliced in top. Nevertheless, IT. WAS. DELICIOUS. Crispy layers of bacon placed on top of a sausage patty, gooey melted cheese, and fluffy eggs. Not only that, but the owner also threw in a couple of donut holes on the house which was such a sweet touch. I would definitely come back here for some quick breakfast grub:)

Yelp
Great local donut shop. They also have breakfast sandwiches. Service is very friendly and fast. Store is remolded and clean with seating. Will definitely be back.

Yelp
Most of the cafes I go to these days are super crowded, have constant motion and noise, and boost an extensive menu of drinks, baked goods, sandwiches, etc. Delicious Donuts and Bagels is different. It's quiet, there's not a whole lot on display besides well, donuts and bagels (and coffee, though I've been trying to avoid caffeine so tried not to look at that part of the menu), and things just feel...slower. Softer. But in the best way. I remember sitting here doing some work while eating my jalapeño breakfast bagel sandwich and feeling, for the first time in a long while, not rushed. There wasn't a line of people waiting for my seat, orders weren't coming out left and right, and it didn't feel like organized chaos in every corner. Instead, it felt a lot like the cafes I enjoyed in Asia - calm, quiet, and oddly, like I was at someone's home, just enjoying a bite to eat and not rushing off to the next thing. These types of vibes are rare here in the Bay Area - but very much needed. I'll be coming back when I need another few moments for myself - and the sandwich was delicious!

Yelp
Fresh quality donuts and baked goods from this aptly named establishment that will impress you with their quality of food and drinks, variety of sweets, and value when accounting for portion size and price. Delicious Donuts and Bagels has definitely earned its name, and despite being within range of a great deal of competitors, holds its own with its classic yeast raised donuts that seem to hold freshness for days (not just hours like other places)! Looking for a morning sugar rush or afternoon pickmeup? Well, this Asian-owned shop has you covered with its refreshing Vietnamese iced coffee to go along with your choice among many yeast-raised and buttermilk/cake donuts, cronuts, cinnamon rolls, and fritters. Located just right off the highway/bridge entrance, this place is easily accessible and quick to spot driving past. The lot is usually tight to get in but it is shared with a number of great eateries and grocery store. If the lot right in front is full, consider parking just around the corner closer to the grocery store. In any case, your visit will likely be quick although they do have casual seating for dine-in. But I suppose if you plan on perusing the many flavors first and run a few errands before you go, this mall will satisfy your needs for a while. As you step foot into this corner shop, you'll be greeted by the friendly staff (oftentimes the owner) and your attention will quickly be drawn to the large display case of mouthwatering goodies. Once you've had a chance to look through all they have to offer, make your selections! My personal favorites are their twists and raised donuts due to their fluffy texture and minor sweetness but you may be pleasantly surprised with their apple fritter, blueberry donut, and cinnamon rolls. The apple fritters are unique to me as they actually have fresh bits of apple pieces, which accentuates the apple tartness with each bite. They also have old fashioned for those looking for something classic. The cronuts are a good attempt but I'd prefer a bit more flaky with distinguishing layers and fluffy with air pockets like an actual croissant. Chocolate, strawberry and maple frosting hold up well in warm weather and aren't too sweet. The prices are reasonable when factoring the size of their donuts and rolls. They're pretty big and shaped well for on-the-go consumption. The biggest surprise for me was that despite buying more than I can eat (it's a common issue for me), the donuts were still delicious and tasted fresh even after a few days of just simply sitting on the counter. They certainly have retention power! Overall, Delicious Donuts and Bagels in Newark is one of the greats when it comes to large fresh, classic donuts. The staff are friendly and outgoing; they also keep the place clean and orderly. Coffee runs will have you raising your hand to volunteer for pickup as you might end up picking something raised for yourself! Try this neighborhood gem next time you're in the area!

Yelp
I went one early morning and The place was packed. The place is clean. The menu is clear. The service is good. They were kind and gave me a few donut holes with my order. Beware there is a sign mentioning they charge a fee for paying with credit card. A reason to carry some cash at all times. I just got a variety regular dozen donuts and they were almost all decent. The donut that was a dud was the blueberry cake donut. It tasted like they use freeze dried blueberries. There wasn't much blueberry flavor. I would try the place again just to try the crullers. It's difficult to find a good cruller.

Yelp
Service was quick on a Sunday at 11am. Haven't visited since last year and was surprised to see the remodeling! Looks great!

Yelp
Excellent donuts. Under new ownership for the last 9 months. Highly recommended. Come on in and try them you won't be disappointed.

Yelp
This is a must try donut place! It's really good! We never ate donut this much but today we ate all of them. It's very yummy!

Yelp
The purple donut I assume is in support of a sports team but being from the east am assuming. The donut is good. The service is good and the place is clean. The coffee is marginal. Like many places in this state there's no customer restroom.

Yelp
I promised my kid donuts for breakfast and at 5am I drove around looking for a spot that was open. As luck would have it, I found this cozy little shop that sells truly delicious donuts, & strong coffee. Service was very quick and very courteous. Thanks delicious donuts & bagels for helping me start my kid's morning off with a smile!

Yelp
So happy this is under new management! Great customer service, reminds me of the previous owners from 2012 when this store was at its peak. We ordered variety of bagels and croissants and found them all delicious. Store is not cluttered anymore and coffee bar is back! Love their donuts and our favorite for today was their Ube and Pink Cruller!
google avatar

Danae L.

Yelp
One of my favorite early morning activities is exploring mom and Pop donut shops. These employees wake up early at the crack of dawn to prepare fresh baked goods, and we all know these are best consumed in the morning! I swing by for the intention of a single donut just to satisfy a sweet tooth, but there is a $5 credit card minimum. I ended up grabbing a strawberry sprinkles and two old fashion. I'd recommend this spot to locals!
google avatar

Lore M.

Yelp
Great place to grab donuts or breakfast sandwiches. Have a good selection on menu with even lunch sandwiches. Place is small and crowded inside but good for grab and go. Good prices!
google avatar

Charlene Y.

Yelp
This place is okay. It's next to the Mandro's store. I ordered a lox bagel for $17. The price is absurd for a skimpy bagel. It was a very thin spread of cream cheese, so I didn't get that creamy thick flavor. I won't come by again due to the price and quality. However, Customer service was pleasant. The lady who helped me was nice and patiently while I looked at the menu.

Yelp
I'm more about the positive YELP reviews and rarely, if ever spend negative energy since everyone's entitled to off days but after having a stellar donut shop experience at another donut shop (Yelp! Review on them coming soon) I had to share how terrible the service and ambience and presumably donut quality was at this spot. There have been multiple management/ownership changes over the years but this most recent one will likely be the end for this spot. Sunday morning, around 8am, I walk into a dimly lit, way overstocked donut shop. Clearly they aren't trying to have the cozy warm vibes of before as there are boxes of everything imaginable stacked as high as possible around the entire space--including baby formula?!?! WTH?!?! I should have walked out at that point. Wanting to support local business I proceeded to order 2 Boston crème filled, 2 maple bars and a jelly filled glaze. Mind you it's pretty dark in there so when the guy behind the register confirms my order and shows me what he loaded up I questioned the Boston crème as I don't see any chocolate glazed in the box. He says "you didn't tell me you wanted chocolate glazed on the custard fill." Ummmm...isn't that what a Boston crème donut is???? Please don't take over a donut shop if you don't know the basics of donuts. So he begrudgingly redoes ONE of the Boston crème's and when I asked about the other one he got visibly irritated and when I saw him cutting the donut in half instead of properly filling it I decided enough was enough. "NeverMind sir. Have a nice day! I would try to improve your customer service if you'd like to keep your business open but you've lost this customer forever." I can't give less than 1 star but since I didn't even get to the final step of tasting their improperly filled donut I'd say 1-star is fair as I don't know with certainty what the donuts taste like. So for a legit donut shop with class homey vibes and extra customer service make the extra drive to SK DONUTS @ Union City!

Yelp
DD is a small shop (though really the only donut place I can think of) right off of 84 and close to ManDro Teahouse. Classic donut store front but they have a wide variety of choices. Newer donuts I've seen displayed include ube, red velvet, and cereal topped creations. They also have cronuts, bars, donut holes, strudels, bagels, and bagel sandwiches (ft. Boar's Head). The ube and red velvet were alright, but I normally drop in for classics like crumb and blHad a Newark 33 sandwich and that was fine too. Will satisfy a craving if you're in need of it.

Yelp
Love this place My favorite sandwich is the number 23 bacon egg and cheese croissant with sirracha Donuts are also pretty good You should try this place
google avatar

Kelly S.

Yelp
Expired rotten cheese in my turkey bagel.. It was a hidden spot for good donuts BUT when I bite into my #1 sand-which (in a jalapeño bagel) the cheese inside of the sandwich tasted so off. Decided to throw it away because I didn't want to risk getting a stomache. I would come back just for donuts. Definitely nothing else.

Chloe H.

Yelp
I never write bad reviews but this warranted it. I came in on July 14 and bought a donut and a small carton of milk. On the drive home I noticed the milk tasted a bit off after I had consumed half of the beverage and looked at the date . IT WAS OVER 2 MONTHS EXPIRED. I am in my first trimester of pregnancy so extremely lucky all I felt was some GI issues throughout the day and this didn't result in a miscarriage or hospital stay. Can only imagine what else is expired at this store. I don't like spreading negative reviews if they are unwarranted but this is not ok. 2 months expiration is extremely uncalled for. Do better Delicious Donut :( !
google avatar

Adrienne H.

Yelp
I wanted a breakfast sandwhich and happened to come across this place. Its a small mom and pop shop. The lady who took my order was nice. I ordered a bacon edd and cheese on a croissant. It was so good. The croissant was so fresh. They have a large selection of donuts and drinks. They only have one table it looks like people order to go. Definitely will be back.

Shivani P.

Yelp
I got a jalapeno bagel with chive cream cheese. The bagel was soft and light. There was a good amount of spread. They have a lot of options for spreads and their donuts look yummy. Staff is friendly.
google avatar

Stephen R.

Yelp
I try to support ma and pa shops, but everytime I get a dozen or more donuts they always give me more cake donuts or old fashions than the hole donuts. Got the Thai tea today and it was sour asked for another one and it tasted the same. The milk or the half and half was def expired had to throw it out.
google avatar

Jason L.

Yelp
Delicious Donuts has been our go-to local gem for donuts for yeaaars, and it pains me to write this review but it has lost its charm. It appears new owners have taken over in the recent months and the quality of the donuts are now suffering, not to mention the price hike. I understand prices of everything have gone up since the pandemic, but at the very least, maintain the quality of the food or look for ways to elevate it. The donuts are now dry, smaller, frosting falling off, and nothing really to rave about. We've been occasionally stopping in hoping it would get better over time, but that hasn't been the case. Totally bummed out...
google avatar

Lynn T.

Yelp
Such a cute hidden mom n pop shop with really nice staff! I love getting the jalapeno cheese bagel with chive cream cheese. The jalapeno on the bagel is pickled but tastes fresh. I've had jalapeno cheese bagels from other places and the jalapeno can taste dry sometimes but not here. The chive in the chive cream cheese is also fresh you can really taste it. They're so sweet for including a few donut holes with bagel/sandwich orders. A Newark gem!

Rick P.

Yelp
The lady served was bit rude. They charge you for the cardboard box no matter how many donuts you buy.
google avatar

Amy E.

Yelp
Hidden in the leftmost corner of the Jarvis shopping center, but definitely worth stopping by. There's always been a wide selection of fresh donuts available even into the late morning/ early afternoon. They also offer bagels with a few flavored cream cheeses, and bagel or croissant sandwiches. I got a delicious seedy bagel with cream cheese, but the sandwiches I have yet to try. I am pleased to have found this yummy bakery after moving to Newark a few years ago. Sometimes its hard to park close by, but don't stress just park in the "big" lot of Safeway and walk over :D
google avatar

John C.

Yelp
This shop is in the corner of the shopping center facing Newark Blvd next to Century 21. Friendly service, great selection of donuts/bagels, and tasty as well.

Yelp
I should've read the reviews prior to coming here. I've been going to this place for YEARS and have never been disappointed..until now. I didn't realize they have new owners! I spent $15 for a croissant, Apple fritter, coffee, and a cronut (I thought I'd try it). $4.50 for a cronut? It tasted like it was a day or two old! I was tempted to throw it out but figured I paid this much so I tried to salvage it by putting it in the toaster oven for 3 minutes. It kinda did the trick but I ended up eating only half of it (couldn't do it). The only thing I liked was the coffee. Btw, I should've said something when I smelled burned smoke and since I was the only one there I knew it had to be my croissant. Sure enough, it was. It was burned on the top and had to scrape it off. I should've checked my order prior to leaving. But, lesson learned. I was very disappointed. Won't be going back.
google avatar

Eve R.

Yelp
So so so so disappointed. The property now has new owners and it's gone completely downhill. The area always looks like a mess, there are no stable prices, they marked the prices of the goods waaaaaaay up, and honestly there isn't any friendliness when I go. Time to find a new donut shop. How disappointing. :(
google avatar

Adrian M.

Yelp
Absurdly expensive & highly overrated. I'm being generous with my 3 stars, but my visits (tried 3x over the course of the last month) have all been totally disappointing. I'll use todays experience as the most recent (& the last...) example. Came a little before 11am on a Tuesday, & the selection was solid, which was encouraging. I bought 3 donuts: ube cake w/ crumbles (Ube, or purple yam, is a fave of mine), strawberry glazed old-fashioned, & a custard filled chocolate glazed donut. 3 donuts, $6.50. Wow...$2+ per donut. The times, they are a-changin'... Of the 3, only the custard-filled tasted fresh. The Ube was okay, but didn't have much flavor, & tasted as if it was more likely made yesterday than earlier this morning (donuts don't dry out in just a matter of hours, typically, & this one was dry-ish). The "strawberry" glaze on the old-fashioned tasted like nothing. It was basically just pink sugar. Not even a hint of berry flavor. A miss. That left me with another typical favorite: custard-filled. While this was definitely more fresh than the others (as in, made today, not made yesterday...), the fact that I had to bite more than halfway into the donut before I hit my first drop of "custard", was an automatic "fail". It might have been a blessing in disguise tho, as the "custard" (like most everything I ate here...) had almost no flavor other than "sweet". It was a kind of odd white/ grey color that almost looked like Mayo (ew), if I didn't know better. Not the golden yellow of most custard (& custard filling). The filling also had a weird, slightly chemical aftertaste. Guaranteed it wasn't ACTUAL custard, but what it was...I couldn't tell ya. $6.50 for 3 donuts is nuts. $6.50 for 3 donuts with no flavor/ gross flavor, not fresh & barely filled? That's a crime. Bummer cuz it's nearby, but...3 strikes & you're out (Not So) Delicious Donuts & Bagels
google avatar

Quin G.

Yelp
Fantastic service. My boyfriend and I stopped by to get some breakfast. He ordered the crossiant sandwich and I had the bagel sandwich, both breakfast sandwiches. Our sandwiches came with donut holes! A total plus for me. The setting is welcoming, and well...feels like a warm donut shop. Definitely recommend coming here. I'll come back again to try some donuts next time I'm in.

Sanjay N.

Yelp
Exceedingly dirty place. Boxes of supplies to the ceiling. A fire code violation. A safety violation. A health code violation. This place needs to be shut down. Encourage folks to call the City and have them investigate this dump. Food was awful. Sandwich was stale and unappealing with old stale meat. Coffee was diluted with extra hot water. Prices are outrageous. Used to be a good place. Now it's run to the ground. The old man here is grumpy and angry. He screams profanities if you ask him why the food came out bad. The woman is equally unhinged. They look like they are new owners.
google avatar

Jessa May C.

Yelp
Pros: - female worker who helped us was very accommodating of my order (I changed my cream cheese type after realizing they had spinach and garlic) and she was able to add bacon upon request! - they make different kinds of cream cheese flavors and they can sell them in bulk - prices for bagels are pretty reasonable and they gave a good amount of cream cheese Cons: - this place can get pretty busy so the workers are multitasking by helping multiple customers at once
google avatar

Nitesh D.

Yelp
I've been coming to this place for as long as I can remember. They've updated it and it looks so much better. The donuts are still amazing and never seem to disappoint. Breakfast sandwiches are another great way to start the morning. When it comes to donut runs, this has been and always will be my go-to over the larger chains.
google avatar

Mrs. W.

Yelp
The place is filthy. Stacked to the ceiling with boxes. Behind the counter is a mess. Dirty cookie jar with no "head" on it on the counter for tips. Apple fritter had maybe a teaspoon of apples in the entire thing and was inedible. It had a sour aftertaste like vinegar or something . My spouse, who eats anything, could not eat more than a bite of the ham and cheese croissant. Again, it tasted off. Years ago this was a great place, with " regulars" always in there, and a cute, clean ,fresh, inviting atmosphere. Now it looks like a Hoarders episode, with terrible donuts. I literally have to throw these items out. I'd never offer them to anyone else.
google avatar

Carol G.

Yelp
-1. It is with profound sadness I am warning you that Delicious Donuts next to Safeway is horrible under the new owners! After 30 years of superior quality, they taste horrible due to old grease and days old. The place looks like a storage unit of grains and bulk stuff!

Yelp
Delicious Donuts is one of Newark's best kept secret and if you know about this place, then you KNOW about this place. I used to come here so often with my father when I was younger and they really make the best donuts. The last time I had stopped in (years ago), they were under different management but looks like new management has taken over. I'm not too sure when the switch happened but the ladies were so sweet and welcoming! Donuts are still delicious as ever. The raised donuts are incredibly fluffy and not oily at all - amazing. Their cake donuts are really good too. I usually never gravitate towards cake donuts but theirs was soft and super moist. I ordered a dozen donut holes and half a dozen of donuts for a total of $9. I didn't pick up their twists or fritters but they looked huge! Next time for sure lol. The ladies were also kind enough to add in two additional donuts at no cost. Parking in this specific plaza used to be so difficult especially during peak hours. However, because of COVID now and with most of the other businesses not being open until later in the day, parking should be easy peasy. When I had stopped by today (9/30/2020), the parking lot was closed off as they were remodeling pavement so I had to park more towards Safeway and Wells Fargo. Not sure how long or when they'll reopen it but just a heads up!

Yelp
For the best donuts, bagels and croissants in Newark - come to Delicious Donuts and Bagels. This place has always been my favorite. I was sad and thought they would lose their deliciousness when new owners took over a couple of years ago but NOPE! The new girls are killing it. Amazing customer service! Delicious bakery items and they updated the storefront. It looks amazing and there are new food items featuring Boars Head which is my favorite. We are so lucky to have this little Newark Jewel.

Yessenia S.

Yelp
I would've liked if they had mentioned maybe no avocado since the one I got was dark and mushy. So gross! Tasted rotten.
google avatar

Manisha S.

Yelp
I've been here before years ago and decided to try again. They seem like they are in new ownership. The place is renovated and very nicely organized. They have decent prices and not just donuts but also bagels!! They have bagels and variety of flavors of cream cheese as well! The Bagels also come in different flavors but it seems like they run out toward the end of the day. I would suggest going there early as possible to get the flavor of your choice. Overall the staff is very nice! I would definitely come back here again. I want the jalapeño bagel. But since they ran out of jalapeño bagels they gave me a cheese bagel with jalapeño cream cheese which was just as good!
google avatar

June N.

Yelp
New owners! The service has changed tremendously; not very friendly like they used to be and the breakfast sandwiches are just okay. Probably won't go there again. It's a shame but hope the previous owners are doing well.
google avatar

Chandra V.

Yelp
I came to this place with some skepticism, but the quality of bagel( that's what I got) was really fresh, tasty. The person who took my order initially missed it and the owner(seemed like) realized I was waiting for too long and they checked again with me. They immediately rushed the order, put in some fresh FREE donuts for their mistake, which I was honestly wasn't even expecting. The service goes a long way and tells you care about your customers, I am definitely coming back to this place. My three year old, loved the onion chive cream cheese bagel! Thank you Delicious Donuts and Bagel.

Yelp
New ownership = new phone number. Just in case you call the previously listed number since it doesn't work.

Yelp
Microwaved eggs on an egg sandwich? Come on. Bagel was more of a croissant. Donuts were ok at least.
