"Colts Neck, NJ; 78 minutes from Midtown If “eating pie” is on your list of fall things, a visit to Delicious Orchards is a must. This country farm store in Colts Neck, NJ is massive, and you could easily spend hours poring over local produce and trying to pick which of their fantastic pies to take home. Then take a short drive down the road to Eastmont Orchards, where you can pick your own apples and have a photoshoot to show off your favorite flannel." - neha talreja, hannah albertine, carina finn koeppicus, molly fitzpatrick

For almost two decades I lived in Madison (NJ), less than 10 miles away from Wightman Farms. I was addicted to their Apple Cider Donuts. I don’t live in Madison anymore, but I think about those donuts. This weekend on a hunt for some cider donuts, I took a trip to Delicious Orchards (Colts Neck NJ). The place has a large variety of Apple Cider (tart, sweet, different combos etc); 10 plus Pies; Yes Apple Cider Donuts; Fruits; Vegetables; …….; So much more. This place is something else. I cannot believe I found a place which has better Apple Cider Donuts than Wightman Farms.

Google
I love going there so much. It's gorgeous and gives such gorgeous Fall vibes. Their produce is always so fresh and perfect! I've tried many things from here and loved them all. My favorites are the donuts and cider of course. I recently lunched there with my husband and we tried the paninis and they were amazing! This is our new go to spot on the weekends 😄

Google
Best market in Monmouth County by far. Best apple cider and Apple cider donuts in the world. Friendly staff. Delicious coffee and baked goods. If you want solidly great produce, this is the place. Pricey but consistently perfect.

Google
Had a good time here at Delicious Orchards with my family. It was a beautiful day, busy and crowded but not unbearable. We couldn't wait to have the apple cider slush and donuts. The apple fritters were amazing. The fruits, veggies and all looks good and fresh we bought a lil of everything. Will definitely come back

Google
Absolutely love Delicious Orchards! I tried the lemonade slush with ice cream and it was REALLY good. The lemonade slush was tart and refreshing, and the rich and creaminess of the ice cream really balanced it out. You can drink the lemonade or ice cream separately for the contrast or mix it all together for a yummy and refreshing drink on a hot summer day!

Google
Took a spur of the moment ride on Sunday. The place was packed with shoppers. I was astonished on the price increases. A package of cookies use to be $5.00, now $8.00. However they are so delicious. I bought a package of the pecan ones. The fruit and vegetables are so fresh. Bought a quart of their tomato soup but did not realize it had basil in it. The soup was good but way too much of an overload of basil. There were even large pieces of the hard stems of the basil. I had to strain the basil out. Because of that I would not purchase it again. Bottom line, if you can afford their prices the product is very good.

Google
I tried the apple cider slushy at Delicious Orchards, and adding soft serve was a game changer! It's the perfect combo—so good I’m already craving another one. Definitely give it a shot!

Yelp
A busy spot, especially in the Fall, for baked goods and fresh produce. We visited on a Saturday around 1pm, and it was quite crowded inside the store and outside where there is space available to grab a bite. We tried their cinnamon sugar cider donuts (prepackaged) and an apple cider slush with ice cream. The donuts tasted fresh and delicious. The apple cider slush had a nice consistency and wasn't too sweet, but I would probably opt to get it without ice cream next time. + Try a free sample of their apple cider towards the back of the store!

Yelp
A first timer! So lovely! Bought vegetables, apples, and salads. I can now see why this place is so popular!!! Everything is so fresh, and many organic options are offered! My sister bought a mixed berry pie, among other items. Looks so amazing and delicious! Thank you!!!

Kanea M.

Yelp
This is my first time in the actual store, but I have had their pies before. I like the curb appeal from the parking lot, there were outdoor plants and decorative holiday decor you could purchase. There were a variety of mums, pumpkins and other fall flowers. I entered the store and the glass baker's case featuring muffins and mini pie tarts were on my left, cider donuts in the middle and cookies on the right wall. There was a small stand of customer service and then the other departments were deeper into the store. It gave small businesses flair with high quality products and many customers were in and out so I can see the popularity.

Yelp
A legacy in the Central Jersey area. Full on deli, bakery, prepped food, produce.... has an old time general store feel. Quality and patient counter personal. Questions? Ask and anyone is willing to help. Apple cider donuts are a favorite of mine. A yearly visit in the fall gets me here. Always, always will stop for the Delicious Orchards Apple Cider donuts. Wanting to experience the freshness, opened the bag in the car... bite, slight crunch, soft inside, not overly sweet. I'm so glad I stopped. Hello old friend....

Marcelo S.

Yelp
Green and well stocked indoor farmers market/ grocery store . With tons of seasonal fruit and vegetables and even honey they make on their grounds outside, this place is worth a drive while in NJ. Friendly service and well organized area to get fresh coffee and baked items.

Mimi L.

Yelp
I just came here to say that the apple cider slush with ice cream was phenomenally delicious!! Completely unexpected but blew me away with how good it was. It's a must-try if you go! The apple fritters were a little mushy and oily, probably a pass next time. The market overall is full of fresh produce and the apple cider is a classic along with their soft and fluffy apple cider donuts.

Zo M.

Yelp
Delicious Orchards is an accurate description of this unbelievably beautiful and aromatic grocery store in Jersy. With beautiful fields of sunflowers, corn fields and honey bee honey buildings as you enter the property, it was definitely worth a stop. Staff was friendly as we walked through the areas for coffee and don't get me started on the complimentary apple cider in the fruits and veggies dept. The coffee and tea area also was available for sampling. It was nice to see so many bees on property and can explain the beautiful flowers and plants available for purchase before enter store. Would absolutely do a return visit if in area again. Plentiful shaded parking. Note: if decide to walk to their orchard keep in mind can not enter gates due to bees rooming free.

Robert C.

Yelp
Repeat visit since I love this place. Went to visit the tiny outdoor eatery attached to the market and what a treat! Had an apple cider slushy mixed with vanilla ice cream! A true highlight! Then tried the ham, apple, Brie panini with apple cider butter! The flavors meld spectacularly! Perfect afternoon treat!

Yelp
Awesome ! The best foods meats and selections I've ever seen at a farmers market. I love Colts Neck and plan to move closer to this establishments soon.

Ed R.

Yelp
A very nice farmers market located in Colts Neck. One thing for sure is I'm not the only one that thinks this way because it was packed. If you go during the fall expect lines. The parking lot was big though and that alleviated some of the problems with crowds which was good. Had no problem finding a spot near the market. As far as the market goes they have all the usual. Pies, fruit, vegetables, snacks, honey and syrup, baked goods etc. We purchased the Apple cider and a coconut custard pie which were both good. I didn't get to shop and see as much as I wanted due to the large crowd. Would be better to come back during a weekday. On the way out we got a Apple cider float. That was very good so don't miss that on the way out.

Suzette S.

Yelp
We visit all year long! Freshest fruits and veggies! Amazingly delicious baked goods! Must visit in the fall! Apple cider donuts! Pumpkins! Always get the cheese danish to take home!

Laura L.

Yelp
This is the perfect spot to go to after apple picking! You have to get the apple cider slush with ice cream. It is so refreshing and delicious! There is usually a line to order but it is worth the wait. The market also sells many different products, including their amazing apple cider donuts. Would definitely recommend this place to others!

Root E.

Yelp
What can I say about delicious orchards that hasn't been said yet? We love anything baked/made here. Their pies and cider donuts are to die for. Ot feels like there are a bunch or grandmas in the back baking all the yummy goodies. Their produce is top quality and always great. The meats/deli are premium. The employees are great and super helpful. The store is very inviting and there's a homey feel when you walk in. They also have awesome gift baskets if needed. We have bought many cookie baskets here before and always got compliments on how great they tasted. Delicious orchards is. Great place to go! I suggested anyone and everyone to visit!

Michael N.

Yelp
The annual pilgrimage to Delicious Orchards in Colts Neck, NJ is now complete and I can faithfully report that the farm fresh institution is still cranking out amazing pies and desserts in astounding volume. But truth be told, the real reason I make the trek to this overcrowded farm stand and unofficial Tesla showroom is their granny smith apple cider. So crisp and refreshing that your tongue has no choice but to recoil and surrender to the tsunami of tartness. Unfortunately, I have to wait three days to devour the four berry pie. Maybe, I'll conveniently forget it at home before our sleigh ride to the kinfolk. Grandpa, if you want to stay out of the home, step away from the pie, it's mine. Five greedy stars

Kalena G.

Yelp
My new favorite place to visit! Felt like a kid in a candy store with so many things to choose from. Apple turnover, chocolate thing, apple cider float, apple cider donuts, pies, everything was delicious!! The only thing I didn't like was the papaya, it wasn't sweet Be careful because it's easy to run up your bill here, but worth the money. Will definitely be back to get more goodies.

Linda M.

Yelp
Always loved this place! Top notch food but the last few times I've been the employees have been so rude, especially in the bakery area. I am so disappointed especially for the amount you pay

Yvonne I.

Yelp
I love Delicious Orchards!! The staff is so friendly and nice! I was craving a fall treat and their donuts are so fresh and yummy! I got 3 different types because they all looked good and i'm way too indecisive lol

Laurie P.

Yelp
Every time we are back in NJ we go to Delicious Orchards. We drove from NY to MD so naturally rerouted to pop in to DO. Apple Cider samples in pointy cups never get old. The sweetest Jersey Corn, fresh apple cider donuts, homemade ricotta, squash blossoms, and artichokes are our staples and they are consistently perfect. Simple, fresh, healthy food leaves little room to cover mistakes. No worries, Delicious Orchards is flawless every single time. I'm driving 5 hours to Asbury Park next week and will absolutely take the extra 30 minutes to stock up (again) so so so so so good!!!!

Sarah M.

Yelp
I honestly thought I had already reviewed Delicious Orchards, but apparently not. This place is the cutest grocery store ever. It's not your typical grocery store so you won't find all of your favorite brand name items; however, you will not leave empty handed. I highly recommend their apple cider donuts. They have plain, powdered sugar, and cinnamon powdered sugar. Out of the three, my favorite is the cinnamon powdered sugar, but since I don't live in the area and am not here often, I always pick up a pack of each - don't judge. They have so many other baked goods as well including pies, cookies, and more. I have tried some of their cookies but I forget which ones. They have fresh apple cider in the produce area for sampling, although I think it was put on hold during the pandemic so not sure if it's back yet. They have fresh peanut butter including a butterscotch peanut butter which is very good. If I did live in the area, I'd shop here often as everything including their produce and other items looks super fresh. They also have a window out front where you can order a few meal items. I had a breakfast item once but I forget what it was - I just remember liking it. And on a number of occasions I have gotten their cider to go -it's delicious! Also be sure to follow them on social media - their videos are hilarious!

Yelp
HAN SOLO SEASON!!! ... dont get me wrong this place may be the "best thing evaaa" to many but truth be told it's just a local grocery store masked as a farm to table orchard market?. Do they have a great selection of baked goods... Yes!... do they have small batch grocery items... Yes!.... Is it a farm or a local co-op store.. NO! They sell great baked goods and normal deli treats/prepped foods BUT i would not weather the storm of parking or dealing dodging selfies and pictures to grab an apple pie. Unfortunately Jeff Bezos and his Whole Foods store puts forward equally the same product and possible at a cheaper price. Once the pumpkin spice oat late season is over it's worthy to stop and grab a few items but not worthy of a trip nor "must".

Carmine M.

Yelp
This long time favorite has stood the test of time with good reason! It's always a treat to visit this place Most everything here is of superb quality. Upon entering you will be assaulted by the magnificent pie counter offering about 10 different types, all of which will knock you out! My fav is the apple crumb ... but then.... There's a few others I live lol As you continue on you will find a small but elegant meat market of intense quality! Great cuts of beef here. Across the isle is seafood less appealing but fine The real winners here is the produce and confectionery delights which make it very hard for anyone dieting to resist. If you've never been you Must go

Daria D.

Yelp
OMG we moved to the area about a year ago and have been wondering why we have not been here sooner?! Made our first trip out here in September and have been back 5 times since! We've purchased numerous pies, apple crumb and pumpkin being our favorites. The cider donuts and cookies are great too. Almond toffee is amazing!! We've also got the burrata almost every time. We've purchased numerous cookie and pretzel platters as gifts. After shopping we enjoy sitting outside and getting the apple cider slushie with ice cream and some food. Our favorites have been the Italian hot dog and the chicken and pesto panini. Can't wait to be back again!

Pat L.

Yelp
I purchased a small round cake for a birthday. the cake was only about 2 inches high on each round which was stale. the chocolate pudding was about 1 inch in thickness was ok nothing to brag about. the rest of the cake was butter cream which was terrible. about 3 inches high and hard. When I asked hold old the cake was before I purchased I was told it was fresh. A lot of the baked goods pre-packaged do not have dates on them. I do not recommend purchasing and cakes/breads. Pies are hit and miss. One week they are great and a week later not so good.

David D.

Yelp
First, I want to start by saying this place is beautiful, the layout the amount of products that they have available is eye catching . One of my favorite Youtubers that does videos recently did a video at this location and ever since I saw it I wanted to try it. Shout you to Nu Yawk channel ! So I did a tour of the place I wanted to check it all out. I was amazed by the selection that they have from pies to meats to pastries to cakes you name it, everything that you could possibly want whether you're hungry or you have a sweet tooth. I decided to get two types of cider donuts. One was powdered one with cinnamon. I also got a full apple crumb pie that I wanted to take home and split with the family. As far as the cider donuts, I thought they were good from a scale of 1 to 10. I would probably give them a 6 they weren't as good as I expected them to be but they were good. When I got home we cut into the apple crumb pie Again I would also give that a 6 I found that it was a little dry, and it lacked flavor, and the consistency of the apples was a little hard. I would definitely want to try their other items maybe I'm just being picky I don't know . However I would highly recommend going and taking a look at their amazing selection!

Jan T.

Yelp
OK so we lived in the colts neck area most if our lives, have since retiring have moved to Florida. Every year since a wonderful gift box would show up at our door. Thanks to my sister-in-law, always jersey tomatoes and corn. This year so dissatisfied with the contents. Had to trash some of the tomatoes. Now I know this must have not been cheap. I will be contacting customer service and voice my opinion on our dissatisfaction. Very sad that service has gone down hill.

Honey F.

Yelp
We drive 50+ minutes for the Apple cider and Apple cider slush. It is THAT good. The market and outdoor seating area has an "old country" market vibe. We love the space and the service. All of the employees are very polite and have a wonderful attitude. We will be back before the end of the season.

Barbra B.

Yelp
D.O oh how I love D.O. cutest orchard with the most amazing apple cider and donuts ever. excellent selection of fresh pies, produce, seafood, etc.. Apple fritter stands, apple slush stands outside .. garden section, cute lunch stand with tables. this place has it all. I have never been disappointed in the cider and donuts.

Anastasia B.

Yelp
Delicious Orchards has the best muffins and cornbread I've ever eaten. I would recommend stopping by.

Jonathan R.

Yelp
I have only gone to delicious orchards for pies and desserts as I have never gone to pick fruit. The pies are very good, I have never had a bad one. Apple, Berry, and strawberry Rhubarb are all excellent choices. The store is tremendous with chocolates, fresh breads, deli, vegetables, cheeses etc. It is definitely worth a visit.

Elizabeth M.

Yelp
My husband and I LOVE Delicious Orchards. Especially the Deli department. When you ask them to cut the Cold cuts a specific way, it's done perfectly. And exceptionally spotless. The staff are always helpful and friendly. The baked goods are so delicious too.The Pies are Awesome Love everything there. Never Disappointed

Sam C.

Yelp
We just got a gift basket from Delicious Orchards. Name says it all. This place is amazing! Top top quality apples, oranges, pears. Just the best. And then...apple cider donuts!!! Chocolate chip cookies, oatmeal raisin cookies, and some incredible incredible brownies. Could not be more impressed! These are some of the best donuts I have ever had. Classy, not just some kind of bomb of sugar and fat. Perfect for dunking in coffee. Did that today. Very very very happy.

Damian D.

Yelp
Every visit is a treat. Produce offerings are vast and top quality (try finding cardoons or zucchini blossoms elsewhere, it's not easy!), the free cider jug is great for a pick me up, and can I say 'cider donuts'? The staff are well trained, friendly, and helpful. Call or email a question and you get a rapid response. And I admire that they take great care of their staff, and they in turn do so for me. It can be a zoo during the holidays, but that's a testament to their popularity.

Mel M.

Yelp
COLTS NECK: this was a special treat; Delicious Orchards has outdoor tables that are dog friendly!! Delicious Orchards is a country market famous for their fresh fruits, vegetables, baked goods, and they even have a deli, prepared foods, grocery items, seasonal items, and gifts! You can have a friend go inside to pickup some food and then enjoy it at their outdoor dining area with picnic tables and rocking chairs. There is also a fritter shack outside and open on weekends. Reminiscing about our visit makes us want to have some fresh pecan pie and an apple cider donut! It's a beautiful place that every New Jerseyan and visitor must experience! Located right off of Route 34 and nearby Route 537, Route 18, Colts Neck StillHouse and Source Brewing!

Kseniya K.

Yelp
A food store that charges way too much just for using labels like organic. The prices are high! I get that the items sold are organic, but I bought an organic pack of Driscoll blackberries in Brooklyn for $1 a pack and here, that same exact pack is $8! And they're both organic! No idea what such a hefty up charge is for. A loaf of bread is $6! I get artisanal bread in Brooklyn for $4-5 and it's a bigger loaf. The crowds are massive on a Sunday afternoon in October. A live band is playing outdoors and customers are enjoying the music and the weather by lounging on picnic style tables. The line for Apple cider snakes halfway around the store.

Joshua C.

Yelp
Tried their Apple Slush with Custard + Apple Cider Donuts + Bottled Apple Cider. The line for their drinks is quite long on the weekends so expect a decent wait. The Slush was delicious and was at least worth our wait. If you aren't a huge fan of waiting I would just go inside their market to buy their packaged Apple Cider. Their products inside were amazing as well. Not all their products looked as great as the others so be a wise shopper. The Apple Fritter line looked quite bare compared to the Apple Slush Cafe line, and after looking at them and their price, I can see why. The Cider Donuts come in a nice bag packaging that really helped them stay fresh/soft longer than most farms that sell you it in a thin paper bag. Really enjoyed their indoor products as well as their cafe drink.

Robert B.

Yelp
This place is wonderful. I have been coming here since I was a kid. Since I have moved from NJ I make it a point to make a stop by. The produce is second to none. The baked goods are some of the best you can in NJ let alone the tri-state area. The apple cider and apple cider donuts are incredible. Over the years they have added a quick service food options. Hot dogs, burgers, pannis etc. All tasty quick options.

Ann C.

Yelp
We've enjoyed Delicious Orchards for more than 25 yrs. while living in Colts Neck. Each year we are more disappointed and after buying an Apple Crumb Pie, Apple Cinder Donuts , Peanut Butter Cookies plus a ton of fruit - we've concluded they've lost their way. Threw away the pie donuts and cookies - pie was soupy and tasted like rotten butter, the donuts were stale and wet (?!) and the cookies tasteless. The baked item used to be really homemade and now it's clear they've automated much of the process. They will remain successful as families "make a day" of enjoying the atmosphere and quaintness of this "country store" and that's fine. Just know you can get the baked items at any food store - not only cheaper, but a higher quality and better tasting. I would - and have paid premium prices for a quality home baked items, but that's not what Delicious Orchards sells anymore. What a bummer.

Idaho P.

Yelp
Unfortunately, the prices continue to go up at Delicious Orchards, while the quality and level of service goes downward. The legendary cider donuts we've bought for years here were a huge disappointment this past weekend--as they were simply stale and much dryer than usual. Without being heated a few minutes in the oven, they would have stuck to our throats. While they may do a volume business, the individual 6-packs of donuts are never date-stamped, so customers have no idea exactly when they were produced. The other main item we look forward to getting from the bakery, the croissant danish, were totally sold out, or at least not in stock, when we arrived Sunday. The excuse given by DO personnel was that baking is done during the week, so customers should know that items will run out. Why be open Sundays then, since, for so many customers, including families, that's the one day we can get there. Honestly, I'm not sure I want to go back. It doesn't seem as though customers are appreciated as they once were.

Nicole C.

Yelp
This place I always go to in the fall. It's always puts me in a autumn mood. i love the shopping and rustic feel of this place! Everything is very farm fresh!

Joe B.

Yelp
I don't know what anyone finds so fabulous about their apple pie. I bought it again this year hoping it was better. Still tasteless crust and pie shell and sickening sweet filling. Please bring back your apple pies from the past that were divine.

John L.

Yelp
The best eclairs in the world !!! When I was young my mom always took me there , 2 things it was a nice ride from Edison and we always got the eclairs besides the regular food but I used teat my eclair on the way home

Donna R.

Yelp
I've been coming to Delicious Orchards since I was a little girl. They make the best fresh Apple Cider, Apple Cider Donuts, and Pies of all kinds. This place has changed over the years for the better. They have expanded and grown into much more then a simple market. Delicious Orchards is a one stop shopping gourmet store that is especially appealing if you're a foodie, or your just like quality goods. They have a Produce,Bakery, Cheese Dept, Deli, Seafood Dept, Prepared Foods, Coffee & Tea Bar where they sell over 15 types of coffees. Pasta and sauces. They sell Candy, Gourmet Groceries, Gift Baskets, and Cafe, and a Juice Bar. Delicious Orchards allows you to sample there fresh apple cider. I really love coming here and spending a couple of hours getting great gourmet treats. It's best to come during the week. On the weekends it gets really, really busy and packed. There is a huge parking lot, but it too can get full on the weekends. People come from all over to shop here. The staff is well trained and very friendly and knowledgeable. Once you're done shopping, you can go next-door there's a brewery and a distillery. When I was there I got their mixed berry pie, apple pie, horseradish pickles, some custom cut steaks along with their Apple cider, and apple cider donuts. I also picked up some fresh coffee and great produce. It's definitely worth the trip.

Zachary G.

Yelp
What an awesome time. The store is kept immaculately clean. They do a remarkable job. It's a blast to just see what they have! I always end up with something from the bakery. But their entire selection is fantastic and I've never had more fun at a farmers market.

Dwinel B.

Yelp
Like routine I go to Delicious Orchards EVERY year to get an apple pie, pecan pie or both lol. This year I went and got a couple of pecan pies. 1 for thanksgiving and 1 to have for myself lol. They never fail to have fresh and amazing pies. I certainly recommend Delicious Orchards.

L Marie A.

Yelp
I'll be moving back to this area after a long absence, and I can't wait to start shopping for my produce here! Visited last month, and I was delighted at the selections. Very clean and well organized store. Prices are competitive with local grocery chains.

John M.

Yelp
Always fun time to go here for fall decorations and food . The pies are the best and nice selection of produce

Melissa L.

Yelp
Always come here during the fall for there seasonal delights!!! The best apple cider slushy I have yet to have!

Dan M.

Yelp
Delicious Orchards is dangerous, especially since you must walk into the bakery within your first 10 steps. That means you must pass all the donuts, cookies, cakes, pies, and breads. Oh My! It does get busy, but everything is spaced out nicely as it is a large location. The parking lot has plenty of room as well. The selection is immense, and everything is fresh from the meat counter to the produce. They do have frozen items as well and some samplers to try. We like to purchase fresh fruit and veggies and sneak in some snacks as well. There is a jarred lemon curd that tastes just like a lemon meringue pie. The large cream puff is LARGE, the cream is fresh and light. It is not sweet which makes it very easy to eat. The chocolate and coffee section has plenty to choose from and the smells are delightful. We don't shop there often or use it as a primary shopping location, but I can see that some people may, it has literally everything and more that you may need or want. The staff is super friendly and helpful. Don't forget the apple cider slush for your drive home!
