Delightful Bakery & Cafe

Came here for some ice coffee and Apple turnover. Was waiting for bike to be serviced across the street at GBC. Good spot to relax a bit with leather lounge seats. Easy access on corner with plenty of parking. This bakery has a large assortment of pastries & desserts. The owner is friendly and quite welcoming. Empanadas & other snacks are available.

Better than I expected! The cheesecake was pretty good, and the chocolate mousse cake and the rainbow cookies were also good. The vanilla/pineapple cake was decent but not great. We don't live that close, but if we're ever back in the neighborhood I'd definitely stop by again.

Drove all the way from Long Island. The chicken patty is delicious and fully stuffed. No other place can beat it. Their cakes are delicious too, not too sweet. Ordered birthday cakes several times already and never disappointed. Owned by lovely lady. Definitely recommended.

DO NOT BUY if you want fresh baked goods So I go into the place and there are these strawberries on top of some cup cakes! I ask. How fresh are that! The lady tells me that if I want fresh baked goods I need to order ahead. By the way, she said this very rudely but I’m still chilling at this point…. I ask ohh so how fresh are the strawberries 🍓 she proceeds to catch an attitude and tell me that they are a week old but I will not be arguing with her about it since she saw me having a heated conversation over the phone. I told this lady that my conversation over the phone has nothing to do with her and all I’m asking is about the freshness of the products. She tells me all bakeries products are a week old and proceeds to walk away. She had a condescending tone as if I’m supposed to be okay with her talking to me like that. Horrible customer service and definitely horrible baked goods if you going to have a strawberry covered in chocolate that is a week old.

The owners daughter recommended we get the chocolate and vanilla buttercream Party cake. It WAS AMAZING!!! One of the best cakes Ive had in a while. You guys just made a customer for life. Thanks Cynthia and family.

Found my new favorite place ! The chicken and beef empanada was a 10/10 and paired with that semi spicy red sauce was delightful. I paired my empanada with an Inka Kola. The customer service was beyond and the chef/baker was coming in and out with freshly baked cakes for wholesale. I definitely will be coming back here for their desserts.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience with Delightful Bakery and Café warrants one. This establishment, which previously operated at 84-60 Grand Ave, Elmhurst, NY 11373, was poorly run then—and unfortunately, nothing has improved since their apparent move to the new location. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted not with warmth, but with the rude and dismissive attitude of the owner. Customer service is clearly not a priority here. The coffee tastes stale, as if it’s been sitting for hours, and the pastries are no better—dry, old, and clearly not fresh. I would never eat here again, and I certainly wouldn’t feel comfortable giving any of this food to my children. It’s a shame, because the name suggests a charming and welcoming place, but the reality is far from it. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere for your coffee and pastry needs. I also want to state that the review posted seem only oddly similar. Proceed with caution when looking to spend your money here.
