Dismal service, unwelcoming atmosphere, and disappointing desserts. Upon arriving at this café/market, we were not acknowledged and had to wait to get anyone’s attention. When someone finally noticed us, we were ignored, and another customer was served before us, even though we had arrived first. Eventually, a server told us to sit anywhere, which wasn’t welcoming at all.
We sat down in the cramped restaurant area where the tables were uncomfortably close to each other. We never received a menu and had to stand up to see what pastries were available. The concept was unclear—whether it was a sit-down restaurant or if you were supposed to order à la carte. When the server finally came to take our order, his attitude was terrible.
We ordered a latte and a vanilla tea, paired with a carrot and beet pastry, and what appeared to be a pie with raspberry sauce. While the drinks were decent, the desserts were a letdown—they didn’t feel as fresh as we had hoped, which was especially disappointing since the desserts were the main reason we visited. The manager, who had a much better attitude, did try to help and made an effort to improve the experience, but the damage had already been done.
