Where To Eat On The Near Main Line - Philadelphia - The Infatuation

"In the sea of lackluster suburban Thai restaurants, it may be challenging to decide which one deserves your drunk drunken noodle order. In the case of Wynnewood’s Delish Thai, the answer is in the name. Spacious seating, BYOB, great mocktails, and gracious service make Delish a great dine-in option as well. For take-out you can’t go wrong with any of the rice or noodle dishes like the crab fried rice or ki-mao noodles. For dining in, go with friends for the head-turning whole branzino in chu chee curry or tom yum hot pot." - jonathan deutsch

Delish Thai - Review - Wynnewood - Philadelphia - The Infatuation

"Calling your restaurant “delish” is a flex not many can pull off. Wynnewood’s Delish Thai can. Whether serving a table of decades-long friends sharing the chicken pad thai “not too spicy,” or tamarind drinks and tom yum hot pot to Bryn Mawr students, Delish can bring the funk, heat and freshness we love about Thai food. photo credit: Nicole Guglielmo photo credit: Nicole Guglielmo photo credit: Nicole Guglielmo Pause Unmute We especially love the decadent gui chai tod, sweet and spicy ped pad prik and whole fried branzino in chuchee curry. Grab better-than-usual takeout or take advantage of the BYOB to level up their excellent non-alcoholic drinks and have a family-style meal with friends. With Sang Kee Asian Bistro across the parking lot, Philly Lobster and Nothing Bundt Cakes further down the strip mall, Delish Thai is the epicenter of the tiny Wynnewood food scene. Food Rundown Gui Chai Tod A soft and pungent filling of chives and rice flour melt inside a crispy charred crust. There are many versions of this Thai classic around Philly. This one is tied with Kalaya’s for the best. Really. photo credit: Nicole Guglielmo Kanom Jeeb photo credit: Nicole Guglielmo Crab Fried Rice Another dish that is done all over town, this version is done properly at half the price of others, with abundant crab, and a fishy, funky, spicy prik nam pla to add aroma and umami. photo credit: Nicole Guglielmo Pee Pad Prik Duck is stir fried with sweet and spicy chili paste and veggies: green beans, eggplant and thai basil. This is a dream take-out order or a good entree to share. photo credit: Nicole Guglielmo Fried Fish with Chu Chee Curry A show-stopping whole branzino is fried until a bit too dry and set atop a pond of chuchee curry to redeem it. This is a must-order for a group. The best part is you’ll have extra curry that you’ll be fighting to take home for tomorrow’s meal prep. photo credit: Nicole Guglielmo" - Jonathan Deutsch

Excellent spicy food in inviting atmosphere and attentive service. The sautéed bean sprouts and chives were lightly cooked and perfectly seasoned. Be sure to ask for a mild spice if you cannot handle the heat. The Pad Khing (Ginger) was aromatic with warming ginger and small sweet pineapple pieces that balanced the spiciness. Pad Kratiem (Garlic) was savory and aromatic with fresh ingredients.

Delish Thai is the newest wonderful hidden gem in the Ardmore-Wynnewood area!!! We had the chance to taste the highly favored most popular dishes, including Tom Yum Seafood Hotpot, Panang Duck Lychee Curry, Pad Praram Peanut Sauce, and Koong Ka Bok - Crispy Shrimp Rolls which made a meal of explosive decadent flavors, both smooth and intriguing to new Thai food lovers! I brought my middle school age niece who described the pallet of flavors across the meal to be "unique" and "outstanding". My favorite was the Tom Yum which had a vibrant and sweet broth with a touch of spice that became even more delicious after each spoonful. The Panang Duck Lychee Curry was unforgettable, with satisfying coconut cream flavors blending with the savory curry, enhanced by fruit and duck so tender it melts in your mouth. Thank you Baitong for a truly memorable experience! I recommend 100/100 everyone to visit and support this treasure of a restaurant. Warm wishes and looking forward to many visits from my family to come!

Google
Delish Thai has a somewhat limited menu compared to other Thai restaurants in the area, but the food is outstanding. The lunch salad is one of the best I've had, it's more than lettuce and some carrot. The chicken satay is tender, the soups are excellent. Try it, you might like it.

Google
This quaint Thai restaurant is tucked in a shopping center that has plenty of parking and has lots of ambiance. Enjoyed the steamed dumplings, spring rolls, coconut milk soup, shrimp pad Thai, crab fried rice and tasty Thai tea. There was no wait and the wait staff was superior. Also, the play list added to the fun atmosphere. If you’re looking for authentic Thai food at reasonable prices, cooked with love and served with love, you’ll appreciate Delish Thai

The food was amazing! I loved the Thai noodles with mixed seafood - so yum! The complimentary spring rolls and soup were a 10/10 . I also ordered the shrimp rolls, which were a great choice. I stumbled upon this place for lunch, and it was so perfect! The green tea treat was a nice touch. The customer service was very friendly. Highly recommend!

Google
I’m being serious: The food changed my life. I’m literally shifting my schedule around to fit this restaurant atleast once a week 😆. I came here with my family and we were stunned by how everything came out so fresh and flavorful. I was blown away by how much umami was in each dish. I highly recommend their chicken curry or their steak because it is cooked to perfection. If that wasn’t enough, The wait staff was exceptionally friendly as well?? They gave us a few dishes on the house it was so kind of them! I’ve been to a few other well known Thai places in Philly and none of them matched up to my experience here!!

Yelp
We had dinner last night. I had the Fried Crab Rice and my wife had Massamun Curry. The Crab Rice was full of high grade lump crab cake and very tasty. The Massamun was a lovey bowl of sweet curry rich with flavor and excellent with tofu. We also shared Kanom Jeeb (steamed dumpings) which again was filled with flavor. All dishes were prepared non spicy at our request. Service was prompt and the food was served hot. The restaurant owner stopped by our table to make sure we were pleased with the service. Restaurant atmosphere was warm and inviting. Not noisy. As a BYOB with no cork fee, the overall dinner including a 20% tip was less than $65 - a tremendous value and I will definitely come back.

Yelp
Delish Thai in Wynnewood. The hype is real. This intimate place reminds me of my first time in Thailand. Yes, because the food is delicious and flavorful. From the moment we walked into Delish Thai, we knew we were in for something special. The atmosphere strikes a perfect balance between cozy and vibrant, setting the stage for what turned out to be a fantastic meal. We ordered the Gang Keaw Wan Nuer, a rich and comforting curry soup dish with steak, and it was absolutely outstanding. The broth was perfectly spiced, creamy, fragrant, and deeply flavorful, and the steak had just the right bite. Every spoonful felt like a little moment of bliss. Pad Thai blew my mind. And the dumplings were legit. Panang Duck Lychee Curry. This was another new pick off the menu and this was an absolute game changer. The curry is sweet, spicy, and umami, really creamy while still allowing the saffron shine through. The duck is nice and tender. A huge shoutout to our amazing waiter, Baitong, who made the experience even better. He was incredibly warm and attentive without being overbearing. If you're looking for authentic flavors, beautifully executed dishes, and outstanding service, Delish Thai is an absolute must-visit. And , they're open for Lunch Special too. We ordered Pad Kra tiem with pork. Pad Kra Prow with Calamari. And Suki with seafood. Served with soup. About Drink; We ordered Thai Iced Tea , Thai iced green tea, coconuts slushy.

Yelp
I wasn't bowled over with Delish Thai's predecessor-- a different Thai restaurant -- but based on today's lunch, I'll be back. I ordered chicken with green curry from the lunch menu. One gets a choice of soup, salad or a fried spring roll as an appetizer. I went with salad, which as you see in my photo, is more than just greens plopped on a plate. A zingy peanut sauce, thicker than your typical dressing, comes with it. The curry (chili, bamboo shoots, eggplant, string beans, basil leaves and coconut milk) is served in a bowl. It's soupier than what I'm used to, but packed with flavor. My friend was pleased with her som tum Thai (papaya salad.) The food is spicier than what you get in many Thai restaurants. I appreciate that they don't try to "Americanize" their recipes. We were the only ones there at 12:45, but by 1:00 plenty of tables were filled. The only person tending the floor was efficient, making sure everyone was taken care of. As said, a good experience!

Yelp
We were pleasantly accomadated 20 minutes before closing on a Sunday night. Staff welcomed us with a smile and immediately offered water. This is a small and simple Thai spot with much charm. We happily ordered after hearing our waitress's recommendations - Spicy Tamarind drink - not spicy but tasty. Lychee mojito (mock tail) - refreshing Papaya salad - light and crunchy Tiger prawn app (goon yan?) - unique flavor and shrimp/lobster texture. Spicy sauce is hot! Chicken drunken noodle - too sweet and mediocre. Beef spicy noodle - sweet and slight kick, loads of tender beef slices. Shrimp Basil fried rice - very light flavored, mushy rice, loaded with shrimps. The 3 of us could not finish the entrées and rightly so because the price tag is around NYC prices. The staff kept coming to check up on us if we needed anything and were very friendly. It'd be unfair to compare them to NYC so they are great as a default for the neighboring area. Looking forward to trying other items on their menu!

Yelp
This new Thai restaurant is hands-down the best Thai food on the main line or at least in Bryn Mawr. The food is fresh, flavorful, absolutely delicious, and in generously sized portions, in contrast to many other restaurants in the area. They do not skimp on the veggies or protein, everything is made fresh to order, and the restaurant ambience itself is very cozy and fresh. Our favorites are their basil fried rice, pad thai, and cashew nut tofu. Love this addition to the neighbourhood!

Yelp
We came in just before six on a Friday night, and didn't have to wait, as there were only two tables occupied of maybe 20 total. We got the gyoza, which my cheap spouse pointed out had about a dollar's worth of garnish, assuming a rate of two dollars per dumpling. For dinner, the crying tiger (beef) and white rice was all my one kid would eat and the other only wanted the fried rice that came with crying dragon. My spouse liked the pad Thai (we got chicken) best and I liked the Penang curry (got the pork). I didn't care for the meat, might even decide to get tofu next time. As we were leaving around 6:30 it was a little busier, so maybe it'll be bustling by seven? Good thing we got our noisy kids out while it was still quiet

Yelp
We went to this restaurant on a lunch date, the food was delicious, fresh ingredients. The crab fried rice and basil fried rice are great. The atmosphere is great. Please go try out all the different flavors. The host was very accommodating.

Yelp
Rudee's Thai has betrayed us by turning the restaurant over to this place. We ordered takeout Pad Thai and chive cakes. It was all kinda gummy and tasteless. The Pad Thai stuck together and was simply inedible. We ended up throwing half of it in the trash.

Esther N.

Yelp
Food ingredients were poor quality. Shrimp and calamari were mushy, seemed defrosted not fresh. Curry dish has curdled coconut milk. No smooth sauce. Pad Thai too sweet and tasteless. We wanted to like thus place but couldn't. The appetizer (steamed dumpling) came out quickly and the main dishes two minutes later!!! Also VERY noisy

Noora M.

Yelp
The restaurant is very cute, great ambiance. The service was excellent. Our food came out quickly, and they were very accommodating for dietary restrictions. Every dish we tried was amazing, and I'd specially recommend the ki-mao noodles and the spicy tamarind mocktail!

Naveen N.

Yelp
Good tasting standard Thai food, staff is friendly, ample seating available inside the restaurant

Yelp
Delish has taken over the location of Rudee's Thai where we were infrequent regulars - Rudee's food was ok but leaned toward crowd-pleasing in lieu of authenticity, flavors were toned down although you could get (spicy) heat on request. We have visited Delish twice now and have been amazed by the quality of the food. The first time we visited, I ordered the Khao Soi simply because I have never seen it on a Thai menu in the US and, even though I'm not a fan of Thai Madras curry, I was able to appreciate the unique flavor. The second time I tried to order the Ginger Pad Khing but discovered it had been taken off the menu because of customer complaints that it was too spicy. Fortunately, the Ped Pad Prik (Thai chili jam stir fry, crispy half-duck, onion, garlic, chili, string beans and Thai basil topped with thinly sliced kaffir lime leaf) survived and may have been the best version I have ever eaten. I hope the quality is maintained and not sacrificed to become like so many other "Thai" restaurants...

Brian K.

Yelp
The best Thai food on the main line. Friendly staff and good service. Big improvement over Rudee's. Try the Tom Kha Kai, but you can't go wrong.

Aaron P.

Yelp
Best Thai in the area. The portions are a bit smaller and more expensive than I'd like, but everything is absolutely delicious.
