The baked items are delicious and they have a very nice assortment. Unfortunately, I am giving a lower review because of my very poor experience with the employees working during my vist today. When I arrived, there was already one person in the store making a cake purchase and one being helped over the phone. I waited for quite some time for either of the two young girls to finsh with their customers so they could help me. During that time, two other employees walked out from the back area then to the back again. They did it a few more times while I continued to wait. The bakery is very small yet not once did any of the four employees working ever acknowledge me or even make eye contact to indicate they knew I was patienly waiting for service. The customer in the store finished their purchase and instead of helping me, the girl that had assisted him, just walked to the back. She and the two other employees then came out from the back but stood by the coffee machine talking while I continued to wait. The girl that was taking the phone order finished her call and, still without acknowledging me, took another minute or so to talk to one of the other girls to complete her phone order paperwork. Finally, when she was all done, she looked at me, no smile, no thanks for waiting, and asked in a flat tone if she could help me. By this time, I was quite put off and very annoyed with this behavior. The rudeness and lack of customer service for the customer facing part of this nice bakery, was very surprising to me. When I finshed my order and was paying, instead of saying thank you, the girl just handed me my change with a blank look on her face. I make it a practice to be appreciative for any service given and always say thank you to someone who has helped me when I pay. I'm sorry to say that these lazy and rude girls annoyed me so much that I didn't this time. I guess the annoyance was written on my face and the girls knew I was less than happy with thier attentiveness because when I was halfway out the door, and almost out of earshot, one of the 4 girls said a sarcastic and mocking "Byeeeeeeee" to me. I was tempted to turn around and let them know that I actually heard it and they were out of line. I decided it was better not to because obviously, none of them really cared about the customers of this business anyway. I understand that young employees do not have the same level of appreciation for the customers as the business owner does but these girls really could care less at all about them. It is not a good look for this or any other business and they need to do better. If you are looking for good baked items, with less than enthusiastic employees, this is your place.
