Trickling Springs Ice Cream Is Back at Union Market — Sort Of | Eater DC

"An eight-generation farm in Williamsport, Maryland, Deliteful Dairy began bottling its own milk this summer, and I’m stocking its milk at Union Market in BPA-free plastic bottles ranging from 12 to 96 ounces as a convenient option until a glass-bottled brand might come on." - Tierney Plumb

What a wonderful local spot to check out! Everything is homemade from their awesome cheese selection to any milk or creamer options! They have a variety of other items for sale also and well as apparel! Stop in to check them out and support local dairy farm stores!

Come down to check it out. They make their own milk as seen in the video. They also make homemade ice cream and of course have other varieties of cheeses and meats and other homemade goodies.

Absolutely one of the cutest little farms very family oriented, family-owned, family ran. They have a plethora of animals that are very friendly to human interaction from highland cow calves, to highland mamas, goats, a miniature horse, a very outspoken donkey, the cutest little store that has amazing food you can buy prepared food or fresh beef and fresh ice cream fresh milk as well as fresh cheese they also have quite a bit of small business owned products. I love that they take EBT as well and they do quite a few events from movies under the stars to festivals and all are family friendly activities. It is literally walking distance from my house though it's not a safe walk due to the lack of sidewalks we still sometimes take the walk up there! They also have a beautiful outdoor wedding venue, an antique pickup truck you can take pictures with. And overall just the whole setting is picture friendly and often you catch a beautiful sunset as your background.

Nice country modern atmosphere offering ample seating both indoors and out. Public restrooms are available. Paninis are offered for lunch as well as ice cream. Frozen meats, cheeses, milk products, and more are available in the reach ins. The ice cream was delicious, but the scoop size was a bit small. I was also disappointed they didn’t offer butter anymore. Service was excellent and the paninis were delicious.

Love their ice cream and cute atmosphere. Took our little girl here to see the cows and goats for her 1st birthday and the girl behind the counter was so sweet and helpful with explaining their ice cream selection.

First time here. Chocolate Cake Batter was ok. Pretty much tasted like chocolate ice cream. $4.50 a VERY small dip is more than I pay. My daughter got the chocolate peanut butter cheesecake and she thought it was really good. If you haven't been here stop in and give something a try.

This was a perfect find on the Washington County Ice Cream Trail, although I'm not sure it was good to find such a tempting spot so close to home! They have just soft serve ice cream they make, although you can buy pints from Misty Meadows on-site. The soft serve was amazing. Having followed the trail most of the day, I just got a kiddie size of vanilla but it was the best soft serve I've ever had. I will definitely be back to try their sundaes and other specials. The peach parfait looked particularly tempting! The store also has quite a bit of handmade/local goods I was very tempted to buy!

Ice cream was so good!! So were the cheese curds and specialty peanuts that they had in the store. We had fun stopping here while in vacation!

Yelp
From the moment I pulled in, I knew this place was special and has been one of my favorites on the MDs best ice cream trail! Cows were free roaming right near the driveway-- close enough that I could snap a few adorable photos from my car. It immediately set such a warm, authentic tone. Walking inside, I was blown away by the selection. Of course, there's ice cream (and what a variety!), but they also offer meats, cheeses, paninis, chips, beef jerky, fromage cups, and more. And the flavored milks? Chocolate, strawberry, and even cookies & cream -- so fun and so fresh! They have both indoor and outdoor seating, so you can enjoy your treats rain or shine. I went with the Cheesecake Collusion ice cream, and wow... if you're on the fence about trying it, consider this your sign to do it!! Creamy, decadent, and absolutely unforgettable. This dairy isn't just a stop -- it's an experience. Between the friendly atmosphere, the variety of delicious options, and those happy cows greeting you at the start, I'd recommend this place again and again. Can't wait to come back!

Yelp
Stopped in to try their ice cream and cheesecake. The Chocolate Cake Batter tasted like chocolate ice cream. My husband didn't care for what he got. My daughter thought the peanut butter cheesecake was good. The ice cream was $4.50 and the portion looked like a kids cup. The cheesecake was $6.00 and it was a good size. Stop in and give them a try.

Yelp
We first learned of Delightful Dairy from Bolivar Bread, who carries an assortment of their cheeses and milk. Once trying, we were hooked and needed to visit the actual dairy! The store is spacious carrying an assortment of milk, cream, cheese, butter, eggs, snacks and gifts. They also offer dine in (or carry out) sandwhiches and soup with a small dining area Everyone working was super friendly, the space was bright and clean, and food is DELICIOUS! The milk, cream and cheese is beyond amazing, you can taste the freshness, quality, and lack of chemical additives. This is a must visit, and worth the roadtrip. My rating rationale +1 Service +.5 Food~Taste/flavor/quality +1 Presentation +1 Atmosphere/vibe +1 Value

Yelp
Their thing is farm fresh soft serve. I guess that's their thing. It's tucked away in a corner on the side with no noticeable signage. They also sell ice cream from the sister dairy but we weren't at the sister dairy. So, we got the soft serve. It was indeed soft! It was almost melted by the time we got to the bench on the pork where we ate it. It was milk soup within a few spoonfuls. The texture was grainy like any other soft serve. However, the vanilla did have a creamy, almost cheesy, aftertaste. The chocolate was chalky as chocolate ice cream often is. In addition the ice cream, the have some meats and charcuterie boards, which we didn't try.

Yelp
Some of the most amazing sandwiches we've had in a long time. We had the Shipwreck and the Cow-ifornia. Yum. They make their own cheeses. Didn't have their ice cream because their machines were down. They are on the MD ice cream trail. If you are passing through it's a most-stop. Near I81 on the border of WV and MD and about an hour south of PA. Service was excellent. Ambiance was perfect. Beautiful interior and you can sit outside overlooking farmland.

Yelp
Topaz beat me to the first review by just two days, but I second Topaz's impression. It's a lovely farm not far from the Rose Hill house off Route 63, about a mile East of Williamsport. They say the cows are happy, and it sure looks like it. When the cows are in the front pasture under the shade tree, my golden retriever and I stop by to talk to them. They come right over chew happily to the delight of the puppy. Their dairy products have a wonderfully unique flavor that will make store-bought milk taste like water. The heavy cream has an INCREDIBLY high-fat content that makes fantastic whipped cream. Their meats are good, but not their strength. Their cheese selection is growing, as is the quality of the cheese. Each time I buy some, I can tell they're honing their craft even more. I haven't had their sandwiches yet, but I'll have to sometime soon. Summary: a great local farm-to-table source for dairy and meat products. And the only place I'll buy milk and cream. Yum!

Yelp
Fantastic place, worth the drive to get your dairy products fresh from the farm and from a longstanding family in the community. Highly recommend!

Yelp
I get all of my milk and cream here. I talked to the employees to find out that the cows are grass-fed (hay in winter) Jersey cows - You can see them around the building munching away on the grass. Jersey cows are known to produce a2 milk. A 3 quart bottle of whole creamline milk is $5, which is a reasonable price for milk of this quality. The staff is friendly. They have plain milk in whole, 2%, and skim, cream, flavored whole milks in chocolate, chocolate peanut butter, cookies and cream, mocha, and strawberry, locally baked breads, inhouse made cheesecake in various flavors (most are excellent, Reese's is our favorite, and espresso is a close second), cookies, keto cookies, and other local crafts. Note that some of the flavored milks include artifical flavors. We frequently get the cheese curds. They also have blocks of cheese (mostly seasoned or plain cheddar), beef, pork, eggs, butter, and locally grown lettuce. The sandwich counter is a great new addition offering paninis. We love everything we have tried there. The soft serve is made inhouse from their grassfed milk, and a cone will set you back $4. I usually prefer a vanilla soft serve, but here I recommend the chocolate because the vanilla, though creamy, is not very strongly vanilla flavored. Overall, this is a great small business making high quality food and supporting a local family farm and other local businesses.

Yelp
I absolutely LOVE the dairy. All of their items are fresh and my son absolutely loves the whole milk! I've also bought their eggs (100% amazing) their cheese and butter - also delicious! And personally, their different types of milk - specifically chocolate peanut butter - is simply amazing! Definitely worth the time and money to go there!!! And the employees are the nicest people!!! Such a joy to go there.
