Great spot to find all the gifts you need for your quirky friends. It is amazing the variety of items that they fit within the small store. Staff was very helpful, from helping you find items that fits your needs to check-out (even helping remove price tags). Will definitely come over again when I need some gifts, and to check out the sections that I missed this time around.

This shop is such a wonderful find! The owners and all the staff are super sweet and helpful, always up for a chat about the neighborhood, what's happening on Broadway, or anything at all. They have fun gifts, beautiful candles and kids stuff galore. I always find the best cards here and have a REALLY hard time getting cards anywhere else in the City. Support local businesses and shop at Delphinium!!

I was really sadden by my experience at the store yesterday. I placed an order for pickup because I didn't have time to wait for a delivery. I was happy that I could just come to the store since it was right by my daily commute. However, when I came in I did not feel welcomed. When I picked up my order I felt like the person behind the counter just wanted me to leave, but I ignored it thinking maybe he just didn't expect me to browse. I wanted to look around since I was there for a gift. As I was looking I felt uncomfortable, because I felt like he was watching me. I kept browsing and got closer to the counter and he asked in a weird tone "do you leave nearby?" I don't like discussing personal details with strangers so I kept it short and said 'yeah' or something like that. Then, again in a weird tone he said, "because I can see your address in the order..." while giving me a weird look. My suspicions where confirmed that was being looked at differently than the other customers. I kept it polite and left but I kept feeling very sadden and frankly offended by the interaction. I am writing this review just to let you know, no I am not a criminal, just a customer that was happy to have found a store where I could get fun, quirky and queer things. Needless to say, I won't be going there again. Very disappointed, and that's an understatement.

In Hells Kitchen? Need a gift? There is something for everyone in here! I can always rely on this place but I dropped in last minute the other day for a baby gift and picked up 3 books and 2 teething toys for the basket i was making! Friendly and accommodating staff! Lucky to have a shop like this in the area!!

Absolutely the most adorable store ever! The workers were so pleasant to be around and very welcoming! I came out of state and went to this store 4 times in 1 week just because I couldn’t keep away from its charm!

Such a fun store! The person at the register was friendly and knowledgeable. This is a great spot to grab some fun gifts for friends/family. I love supporting a local business. This doesn't have the cheesy souvenir stuff, but more quality items and some fun quirky items as well. My 10 year old daughter and I found some good gifts to bring home for ourselves and others.

I love this little gem in Hell's Kitchen. It's the perfect gift shop when you're looking for a unique item. They have everything from interesting coffee table books, fun mugs, clever cards, candles, oils, stuffed animals, etc. You can't go wrong here! You will be certain to find something. This place has to be the cutest, most unique, and incredible gift shop & card store there is. I've never seen anything like it. The staff is so welcoming, and friendly. I moved in literally right next door to it and purposely didn't go in for a few weeks because I knew I was going to decorate my entire apartment from them, just by looking in their window displays. I went in for the first time today, and I wasn't wrong :)

Everything about Delphinium makes it the perfect gift shop. From the quirky things you didn't know you had to have to the Devine that you can't live without. I bought my granddaughter the most incredible stuffed ostrich with rhinestone collar and fluffy feathers. I travel here for all my greeting cards, they are unique and not found elsewhere. Small hostess gifts? This is the place. NY things? This is the place. I have to mention the staff, charming, adorable, could not be more helpful. Oh, and theater buffs.....you never know who you will see there, everyone goes through those doors.

I really loved this store. The vibes, organization, and beautiful products are to die for. I bought a couple of kitchen gloves with a funny theme and a super cute kitchen towel. I do think that they are a little over-prized and the staff could be a little more friendly but as far as products I am in love.

This grocery store is huge. Visited Tampa and was looking to make a quick charcuterie platter for the in laws- we were there for over an hour just looking around. I have no context for how affordable this place is compared to other markets but I could have definitely spent hours here.

I had heard of this store for a while. We live in upstate. MAN did it NOT disappoint. There is something for everyone. The manager on duty was a STAR and helped out with so much. I can't get enough. I only wish I lived closer. If you're in NYC and you're looking for a GIFTS, this is your only stop.

This is a great find. In the big city, to find a locally owned, well curated shop-is a big success. Reminded us of some of the shops in Chelsea in days past.

I've been a customer of Delphinium since the middle to late 1990s when they were across the street from their current location. A lot of creative and innovative items for the home and for gift ideas, and a nice selection of greeting cards. Highly recommended and conveniently located just west of the theater district.

Delphinium Home is my favorite go to store for all my birthday, Christmas, thank you, good luck, graduation, mother/father days cards! Oh my gosh! I could spend hours and thousands of dollars here! I love this little hidden gem! This place was recommended on a Must Do Things for LGBTQ in NYC list and I'm very glad it was!

Delphinium has been a staple of Hell's Kitchen for years, and it's no wonder why. They've got a curated selection of products for any occasion, from the funny to the sassy and everything in-between. They use their space efficiently. The more I browse the store, the more I uncover. The first time I stopped in, I left with something I wasn't planning on buying. Stop in if you're looking to add character to your living space, or want a memorable gift for those special someones.

Here's a pop quiz for you: Q1: What's a large and rectangular thing and usually has a knob or a handle, maybe a pane of glass and you use it to get in or out of a place? Q2: What's a big, beefy, hairy thing with horns and perhaps a ring through it's nose and it snorts a lot? And you can see one running through the streets of Pamplona. (And the answer is not that Moroccan guy I met at that leather bar in Madrid during my last trip to Spain.) When you put those two answers together, you get a description of this store. Okay, now what do you get? A-door-a-bull! Wait, you don't get it? Try saying it phonetically. Okay, try it again. Okay, I'll spell it out for you. This shop is adorable! They have a great selection of gifts and home items, but I don't care about that stuff. I like unique birthday and Christmas cards and I thought I was going to have to go all the way back to Exit 9 in Brooklyn to get cards for the holidays but I found this place and my needs were met 100%. The guys in the store were very nice and super helpful and the selection was fantastic. The next time you receive a clever, original and thoughtful birthday card from me, you can just assume it came from here.

Sisters are always hard to shop for, and a little gift of humor is always harmless and fun! This store is "sense of humor in a bottle" and I had such a great time shopping for my sisters birthday gift and for myself! Highly highly recommend :)

I cannot RAVE about this place enough. It was the neighborhood gem when I was in Hell's Kitchen and even now I make the trip down for any birthday, holiday, random gifts I need...for any and all the human beings in my life. I have turned so many people onto this shop because it truly is so fantastic. The guys that run it rock. The stuff they stock the shop with is one of kind and kick a$$. Next time you're in their hood do yourself a favor and stop in. You'll leave with the perfect gift(s) for anyone in your life, including yourself.

I made a special trip here after carefully combing through Yelp reviews for cards & stationary and I was definitely not disappointed. I got a set of 12 really cute thank you cards (envelopes included) for $14 (after tax). I wanted to look around for longer, but my mom was with me and her practical side screams out against cute stores like this :( The smell of the scented candles was a bit heady and too strong for my liking, but I do want to come back here some time :)

Omg Delphinium is so awesome! I love they have something for every taste. Great gag gifts, incredibly thoughtful cards, and simply- complex games fun for all ages. Bought this mug, and a Cher candle and they have many icons more to choose from - THE GOLDEN GIRLS TOO! I can want to give these gifts.

Delphinium home is a gem in Hell's Kitchen ! Original location was on 9th avenue between 46 and 45 street , right next to mercury , was a small, cute store . Now they are located on 47 street , between 8 th and 9 avenue ,in a location that is twice the size of the old store ! At delphinium home you can find many UNIQUE household items , creative and super original gifts , candles , home decor and THE BEST card selection I have ever seen ! I always come here on any special event for cards even now when I don't live a block away LOL People are always in awe with these awesome cards , delphinium home is a bit on the pricey side but trust me it's totally worth it and it's great to support a TRUE neighborhood store ! The guys that own it and run it are absolute sweethearts it's a total pleasure to shop here !

Love this place so much that my mind constantly reminded me I have to stop and get these fab drink coasters next time I go back to NY (I'm from Jersey). Artsy placemats that draw the line before "dizzy", funny mugs, sexy drink books, writeable/eraseable drink coasters so partygoers/drunks can remember where there sh** is, wall/desk art that places you elsewhere in the world, candles & diffusers, animal kitchen accessories and more. It's chock full of wow. For those searching for a different kind of treasure, X has definitely marked this spot. Not sure how much they update their merchandise but there's bound to be a handlful of things you'll want to leave with. Some things are pricey, some things aren't bad, depends how much you want it. Always staffed well, no pushy or rude salesmen. It's almost like the tea shop you're willing to frequent because the products, the atmosphere, and the waiters are so inviting.

Such a cute, jam-packed store with awesome household items. Everything has a cute touch, like sponge holders that are in the shape of animals, funky bathmats, and wonderfully smelling lotions. It's a bit cramped, but it's worth crouching down for adorable items. Great for housewarming or birthday gifts. Sadly, I was looking for a muffin baking tin, but they had none. However, I'd definitely come back knowing now what they have. I might suggest coming here if you're waiting to be inspired, not so much if you have a specific item in mind.

Fantastic little card and unique gift store beats the likes of Hallmark and other big brand generic card stores. Easily the best place in midtown west for birthday, anniversary, occasion cards. Recommended. Bonus: They've another store a few blocks away that sells candles, shower curtains, saucy lampshades, books and all sorts of other fun stuff great for birthdays.... its not just lampshades, shower curtains etc because no one gives those as gifts but stuff I can't think of that is great for birthdays is sold there.

Got a bunch of Christmas gifts here last year and came in today looking for a last minute gift for a friend. I thought some crystals might be a nice idea along with a candle. I wanted to pick a crystal with significance to my friend's unique situation so so I was looking up on my phone what the different crystals meant since the majority of crystals they had weren't listed in the crystal book they were also selling. I'm the only one in the store and she nastily says "I don't like what you're doing" and I am bewildered, look up, and ask "what am I doing". And in such a nasty and rude says "you are looking it up so you can buy it on Amazon". I have never felt so confronted while simply trying to buy a thoughtful gift for my friend.Also the crystals were about $2. Why in the world would I be trying to buy those on Amazon. Also, she should probably realize most people coming to this store are either trying to support small businesses specifically and/or need something last minute and don't have time to get something on line.So disappointing because I will never shop here again after such horrible treatment and was looking forward to coming back for a gift for an upcoming baby shower. Maybe you won't lose all your business to Amazon if you treat customers with respect and without such a horrible attitude when they are just trying to figure out which gift from the store would be best for their friend. If you come here I suggest you know EXACTLY what you're going to get and don't spend more than 5 minutes here, otherwise you'll be accused of trying to find it online for a better price when that couldn't be further from the truth

Such a great little store. I need a special card for my editor right now, so I'm going to walk over. I know they will have something funny and unique, that will make her laugh and feel like me. You would think there would be a zillion places in the city to find this sort of thing, but not that I've found. A little treasure.

This is my favorite neighborhood gift store. They have everything! I needed a box and some wrapping paper/bow/card for a gift and so this was the obvious choice as it's half a block from me. It's also the obvious choice because they have the most beautiful selection of gifts, candles, frames, etc. It's a great place to buy a nice birthday/anniversary, etc gift. I went in and on the off chance they sold them, asked for a box. The really friendly guy at the register found a box and made sure it fit and then gave it to me. So nice! I went and found the perfect gift wrap, they have a good selection of all different kids, picked up a card from their rather large collection, got some tissue paper and beautiful material to make a bow and then was off! Staff here is amazing, selection amazing, everything AMAZING.

Came here for a birthday present and card, and found so many things that were PERFECT! It's nice to have such a sweet little gift shop around the corner from such a touristy area. We had so much fun looking around at everything, from whimsical decor to eclectic toys, elegant candles, and a great assortment of cards. The store manager was really helpful and gave us an unexpected discount and wrapped our presents beautifully. I am definitely coming back!

Delphinium is a much-needed and handy store to have in this neighborhood. It's relatively inexpensive and has something for everyone. We picked up picture frames for my sister and my parents at Hanukkah time, a rubber duck for my nephew and I was eyeing a shower curtain and a cool clock for myself. It is small but very eclectic, which I find to be a real time-saver when I shop. It's easy to take care of multiple gift needs here for a wide variety of people and still have a good time yourself. There is a tiny sale section in the back with things like candleholders, margarita glasses, salad bowls, etc. Thymes Products, Burts Bees, numerous tschotschkes...it's a gifty paradise. My nephew somehow never got the duck, though...

I love this place !! When they first opened on 9th Avenue, I bought lots of fantastic goodies for my new apartment in the city. Everything from artsy male swimmer towel hooks to plants to canisters for the kitchen. I knew I could come here for quality and for unique items. They Have an eclectic and really cool collection of goodies! They also have a fantastic candle collection, and the best cards! The people that work here are super sweet and amazingly helpful. The store is well organized but also a bit of a treasure hunt. They do a nice job blending the two.

Looking for frivolous home items you never knew you needed while Madonna plays in the background? You'll find many of them here in the adorable Delphinium home. The owners are very friendly and helpful. It's chocked full of adorable stuff and it's a great place to buy gifts or a few things to compliment your pad. I come in to buy candles and incense, and usually end up picking up other items that I "need"--like this cute dangling battery-powered chandelier. I hope to buy several more so I can have a row of them dangling over my kitchen table, or maybe even over a bookshelf--their suggestion, of course;) (I must admit it's a good one!) You won't find "large" home items here, but it's a great place if you're looking for cute things, like a fun shower curtain, artsy dishware, fancy candles, etc. And of course, very gay friendly. Actually, it's so gay maybe I should call it straight friendly.

Adorable little shop in Hells Kitchen. It's a one stop shop if you need to buy gifts or cards for any occasion. The staff is so pleasant and helpful as well. The only reason for giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because its a bit pricey, not that I blame them,their rent is probably sky high. But expect to spend a pretty penny in there, but totally worth it. Anything I buy from there usually will WOW someone.

I loved their boxed thank-you cards as they're always eclectic and something you don't find anywhere else. Very cool card selection and nice nick-nacks to tempt you. The ownership seems very accommodating as they'll take an interest in exactly what you're looking for and make sure that they help you find it. I keep getting sent in here to buy cards for my work to send out, but now I've found myself stopping in to buy all my personal cards too. No matter how often I go in there are always new cards to be found!

I am soooo in love with this store... So many great finds here... I went crazy this past Christmas buying gifts... And the associates are so cute & helpful... I love owls and they had the perfect bronze paper weight for me... And I have to also mention the white porcelain destructed pitcher !!!! Loves it

I just recently moved to NYC's Hells Kitchen neighborhood from Chicago, and I am in desperate need to look for items to accesorize my apartment. So this weekend, I took advantage of the amazing sunny 70s weather on Saturday to look around 9th Avenue. And within two blocks of walking, Delphinium caught my eyes. Yup, I HAD to go in. Mind you, the inside of this store is not very big, but for the small space, they have it very well organized with anything you can think of for the house. From kitchen gadgets, to drinkware, to curtains, this store carries excellent items for the home. What's even cooler is the fact that it features items that we dont typically think of. And the service? Very helpful. I definitely need to go back this week to browse again!

No cell phones allowed but a very cute place to buy gifts for anyone. They have lots of candles and kitchen do-dads. I walked in to grab a present for my sister and was on the phone asking her what color she wanted when I was told no cell phones allowed in the store. What kind of store doesn't allow you to talk on the phone??? Especially when you are trying to find a gift for someone!! So I like this place but now I am a little bitter about my experience there... that is why they only get three stars.

After walking by it many times, I finally checked this place out before the holidays. So cute! A little slice of Park Slope's 5th Ave in Midtown. Great cards and kitsch, all that stuff nobody needs but good for little gifts in a pinch. Very small and cluttered but I like places like this, it's fun to pop in when you have time to kill and look around. Really super friendly staff.

I have walked past this store many times and never went in. Last week while waiting for a table to open at brunch, I stopped in and was amazed. This store has a bit of everything from things for the kitchen to bathroom items. I also sent my sister the cutest item for her Holiday collection. I will definitely shop here again. The staff was most helpful.

This place was really kewl! After reading all of the positive reviews on Yelp, my sister and I decided to check this place out and we weren't disappointed. Really random, awesome collection of just about anything you could ever want. Also, the staff were amazing! They didn't bother us at all while we took our time browsing around the store and when we checked out, they made pleasant conversation with us. :) I will DEFINITELY pop in here the next time I'm in the city.

Fun little card and gift boutique in the heart of Hell's Kitchen. Good selection of all-occasion greeting cards and gift wrap, as well as small speciality gifts. Gay owned and operated, with a very friendly staff. The owner has a good eye for stocking the store with creative, unique gifts and novelties. A bit expensive, but well worth the visit to find something special.
