Del's Lemonade

It’s been nearly 30yrs since I’ve had Del’s! Here on work and I had to stop and get some. Just as I remembered. Though they didn’t have but one flavor in my days. Definitely a nice sweet and cool treat. Wish I would’ve gotten a smaller size though.

The service is always good in this store. The drinks always taste good and are frozen. Current flavors are Lemon, Watermelon, Cranberry, and Tangerine-Orange. I had a Cranberry and Lemon mixed which was very good. The store is located on a busy street with free parking. There isn't really a place to sit down - it is take out.

One of the best lemonade. We stoped there on the way to Cape Cod from Newport. Kids and adult loved it. We ordered original and watermelon. Taste soo good that we purchased 2 dozens packages and bring it home to California. We shared with our friends and they loved it too. Hope they will open stores in California (Los Angeles)

Whenever I'm in Rhode Island, Del's frozen lemonade is my absolute must-have favorite treat! I look forward to it every summer! Whether it be from the cart on Block Island or from this shop. Lily assisted me with my purchase yesterday. She was friendly, kind, and polite! It was my great pleasure meeting this young woman who provided such exceptional service!

Place is kind of a run down shack. But the lenonade is decent.

We stopped by on our trip to Newport. Very delicious lemonade that quenches ones thirst. Wish they had a drive-thru.

This Del's store has been around for many years. The parking lot is quite small so come early to avoid crowds. The inside of the shop is clean and modern. The staff are always friendly and prompt. The prices haven't increased much over the years which just shows how well established the Del's brand is across the state. I would highly recommend visiting this shop or any of the Del's trucks you see out in the wild.

I understood that these are slushy drinks for regular lemonade. But I was presently surprised but the icy drink. It would be great in the hot summer. We went in end spring so a little chilly for icy drinks. Still we had the regular lemon and the blueberry one. My son loved the blueberry slush. We got a large for both and was huge!!!!! Definitely try this when you in RI.

Good stuff! Wish we had one of these near me. Got the apple cider and it was great! Should have gotten half and half to try out the watermelon.

According to the internet, this is a must when you are in Rhode Island. It was my first time trying so I was looking forward to try the classic lemon flavor and the grapefruit. The store only had lemon and watermelon. Ordered one of each in the "mini" size. The person working there misunderstood, and gave me two medium sized ones. I was wondering why the total came out to $8.50 but then I saw her already filling the medium cups so it was okay. The lemon flavored one was super refreshing! It had pieces of lemons too. However, the watermelon was overly sweet and tasted artificial. Definitely getting the lemon one again, and not a mini one.

The lemonade here is so good I would recommend it if you were in the Rhode Island area

I decided that Del's would be my Rhode Island treat as we drove through the tiny state and randomly picked a location on the map. This spot was tiny (maybe they all are?) and not somewhere to hang out. Definitely more of a grab and go kind of thing. I decided to go with the regular lemonade and it was good. Perhaps a flavored one would have left more of a lasting impression.

I found pieces of plastic in my frozen lemonade. Not much else needs to be said. They need to start over. Del's used to be great but not anymore.

Not a huge fan of any type of frozen lemonade, but the Watermelon flavor was pretty good. Staff was very friendly. My favorite part is having the pretzel rods soak up the juice!!

Nothing says Newport in summertime better than Dels! Refreshing anywhere, anytime. A little cheaper to buy at the store in Middletown than from a truck, but always worth the treat.

When we moved to Newport there were certain things we were told about that were classic favorites of the area. Ma's doughnuts, lobster rolls, and Del's Lemonades were at the top of the list. I thought Ma's was ok, and lobster rolls were amazing, so I knew as soon as Del's reopened for the spring I had to give them a try. One day on my way home from work, I noticed the open sign on Del's on West main and decided to stop in and grab a few for my sweetie, who loves everything citrus. The guy behind the counter was surprised that I had never had one, and said "you must not be from around here." Truth. I took my two frozen lemonades in lemon and watermelon home, and we tried them. I had no idea what I was getting into, but I imagined they would be somewhat like an icee or a shave ice. When I think about lemonade, I crave a tart kick, followed by a subtle sweetness. This however was only sweet and cold, with no tart. The mix of flavors just being sweet, and cold was not really my scene. Hubby loves anything of any citrus fruits, so he was into it, but also remarked he wished it was more tart and looked wistful about it letting him down a bit. The flavor was flat in both the lemon and watermelon, and the sweetness was pretty overpowering, with huge crunchy ice crystals. Maybe this is one of those things that only locals understand because it's a food associated with memories, and I don't get it because I didn't grow up with it every summer. Regardless, this is the only way I can see Del's being this successful- by depending on locals and their kids to continue doing this due to more of rote generational habit and less due to the actual taste or quality.

Great cool down on a hot muggy day in New England! I loved it my first time trying. I was pleasantly surprised it wasn't too too sweet. Nice Rhode Island speciality that you must try.

Always, always, always stop when you see the lemon. Del's is your absolutely perfect hot day treat--and really anytime treat. This shop has to be the best place to grab this classic. It's a small shop but it's got cool air, a soft pretzel offering, and some seating. Service is always excellent here, too. The type of Del's served here is legit, with bits of tart lemon mixed in to the icy, lemon-y deliciousness. Each bite is perfection. (Yeah, I don't need a spoon or straw. It doesn't last long anyway regardless of the size I get.) If you're anywhere near this shop, you must stop in. It's turned into my go to treat stop every time I visit Newport. It's Del's--how can you resist?!

Classic Rhode Island fare. Kids loved the lemonade which is more like a lemonade slushy; I was a fan of the grapefruit. Prices here are lower than in the tourist district so if you're near, stop by after dinner (or before!). The frozen treats are incredibly refreshing on a hot day.

I see Del's as a must stop when visiting Newport. Being from Boston I am have been deprived of Del's unless I drive an hour but luckily one just opened right outside of Boston. That said I stopped by Del's in Middleton while down in Newport. Grabbed a large 1/2 lemonade 1/2 watermelon for the ride. Also grabbed a quart of lemonade and a quart of watermelon to bring home as well. It's really one of God's gifts!

This is a perfect spot to get some fresh dels and avoid the beach traffic and downtown rush. They have a couple of different flavors and you can get the large quarts here if you are headed to a party. There is parking.

This place is my hands down "go to" dessert place when I am sent to Newport, RI! The amount of sweetness is perfectly balanced with the fruit flavor all mixed into an icy good con concoction know throughout the northeast as simply--Del's! I always bring home 2-3 buckets of the make at home packets, but it just isn't the real deal. It is such a treat to have be in Newport and either stop into the Middletown location or know that a Del's truck will be at almost every beach within 2-hrs drive! Help support family owned businesses and stop in for a Del's on your next east coast trip!

Great lemonade! Always refreshing and good to see the truck lined up on the beach. A friend of mine had the watermelon and also loved it. A great afternoon snack, perfect for a hot day by the ocean.

Nicely done, soft and slurpy lemon ice. Very refreshing and the bits of what I think were candy lemon peel shavings was quite nice.

I had heard and read a lot about Del's when I was getting ready to move out here. It is easily accessible. So, on a hot summer day, I made a stop. Friendly staff. The Frozen Lemonade was like a cross between Italian ice and a slushie. I liked it. It definitely hits the spot on a hot summer day.

The product speaks for itself! Always fantastic, especially on those hot days where you need that perfect cool down. They've recently added a blueberry, which is my second favorite. First being the traditional Lemon

A true Rhode Island classic beverage!!! You cannot beat the refreshment of a Del's Lemonade, especially when it's 90 degrees and humid out. Ice cream is great but when you want to beat the heat nothing tops this place. Service was super friendly and as usual the lemonade was perfect. Thank you so much.

Love this place. It's a hole in the wall but it's Dels. Nothing but the best frozen lemonade.

It's a chain in the east coast but it's delicious nonetheless! They only sell frozen lemonades (some different flavors) with real lemon chunks in them. They claim to be all natural using real lemons. Not sure about that, but it certainly tastes good! On top of that, it's really cheap!

Passed by Del's countless times and stopped in for the first time today. I wasn't really sure as to what to expect..it's a teeny little hole in the wall shop. I walked in and the girl working at the counter was extremely friendly. As someone who was just craving frozen lemonade...I'm sure I would have loved anything she gave me. Well..it was phenomenal. Not too sweet, not too tart..and it had small pieces of lemon in it. Let me tell you..amazing treat on a hot day. They take cash only, but it's definitely worth a stop in if you're looking for a nice cold and refreshing treat. Next time I'm in the Newport area looking for such a snack, I'll definitely stop by.

PERFECT on a hot day -- or any day! And, you can find them along Ocean Drive, too -- just pull up on your bike and enjoy!

Great place with great frozen lemonade. We actually hired them to come and give our guests lemonade at our wedding this summer and it was a huge hit. People LOVED the lemonade. We even put some booze in it and made cocktails out of them. Delicious. They let us choose two different flavors and both were amazing (we used the original lemonade flavor as well as watermelon). Definitely worth a try!
