"Checkered tablecloths and quarts of Italian dressing to-go: This Italian diner has oodles of character in addition to its menu of pizzas, antipasto salads, and gnocchi. On the weekends when the line gets really long, you can learn all the pasta shapes based on the posters that line the hallway." - Danny Palumbo

I started with the breadsticks - they were so delicious I took my left overs with me. The chef was generous with the olives, cheese and so much more in the salad... by the time I got to the pizza, I could only eat 2 slices. Everything on the menu felt like it was made with love. A place I'd like to dine with friends and family. Our waiter seemed a little occupied but in all, I had a great time here

Google
This place is very homey feeling and a great place for family gatherings. I wish they were a touch more friendly. My extended family, all 60 of us, will likely be back though.

Google
I was excited after reading the reviews, but ended up being disappointed. We ordered the perch dinner, a large spaghetti with meatsauce and a small pizza. The perch smelled good, but I'm not sure how it tasted. The spaghetti was bland, a can 9f prego has more flavor than what we received. The pizza was a good size, but nothing special about it. Hungry howies is better In my opinion. Our order was correct, done in good time, and the staff was friendly. Although everyone was kind, I have no reason to return.

We recently had carry out for a special event going on. We spent about $350+ for a large amount of chicken Alfredo, chicken/chicken tenders and salad. (They forgot our breadsticks) The food is usually good which is why i recommended it for this occasion. Fast forward to after eating… the bride got deathly SICK. Bride said after eating a few bites she felt nauseous and dizzy, She puked almost immediately after eating, it happened so suddenly that she couldn’t even make it to the bathroom. Then, it was back and forth for the rest of the night with puke and diarrhea. She was pale and felt chills. It hit EVERYONE. (Around 20 people got sick) The kids also started puking and had diarrhea for the rest of the night, so did the rest of the adults. It was horrible. The party was ruined!! I don’t know if we were given left over food from the night before or if they got food poisoning from the food, but it was just a terrible experience..

I love when I come back to town and get to stop in for dinner. My family has grown up on this place. My grandmother lived 5 houses down from there. we would walk up there all the time for pizza and spaghetti. I was just there not to long ago and still brings back memories!

Google
Wonderful restaurant The food was fantastic with a wide variety of items to pick from. My bread, lasagna, potato, and meatball appetizer were cooked to perfection and all came to the table piping hot. EDIT (3_16_2024) Had a date night here. My Prime Rib was cooked to perfection and was delicious. My date had the combo meal with ravioli and ribs. She was also equally pleased. Our service and server were absolutely amazing. Completely satisfied customers.

We had our small wedding there in April. It was perfect

Google
Sad but the unforgettable decades of a great landmark had closed around 2023 if i could get the year accurately. Served many 100 thousands im sure. Ask someone who knew about the 'Meat Lovers' pizza. I would have never accepted the story if not made the experience! You could also take out premade frozen or just the dough. Everything was 100% authentic made from scratch kitchen through long line of ancestry.

Steve B.

Yelp
The quality of the food was amazing.the ribs are good. The pasta is out of this world and the prime rib is wonderful! Every server is exceptionally friendly and attentive. The chairs and tables while a bit dated are sturdy and clean. We love this place and are working our way through the wonderful menu!!

Yelp
This was about a catering order. We ordered a half pan antipasto salad as it states it serves 15 people. We had a party with 12 women who are not big eaters. The salad was long gone before everyone was able to get some. To be honest when I picked it up I thought it was a mistake as it looked so small and thought this is not going to be enough. In reality this salad would be stretched thin to serve 10 people. It tasted good with their great dressing but for 42.00 dollars was not worth the price at all. If you have more than 10-12 people I would get the full pan for 20 bucks more.

Yelp
Great old school pizza and Italian establishment. Came here on a Saturday evening. They don't take reservations, so we had to wait 45 minutes for a table for 7. They have all the good basics, pizza, Italian dishes. You can't go wrong with the pizza here, great way to feed the masses for not alot of dough. We started with the antipasto salad, we had a medium and it was huge. The dressing is good, not too sweet. We finished with spunoni ice cream for dessert, it was fantastic! We came here for a family get together. It was my first time and I have a feeling we will be back!

Yelp
We dropped in on New Years Eve. Excellent service by Megan was for openers! I ordered the spaghetti with meatballs in their marinara sauce. It was absolutely delicious and I could only eat half of the generous portions that was accompanied by a fresh salad. My wife ordered the fried shrimp and a baked potato. It too was a generous portion and mouth watering. My son went for the Mostaccioli Parmigiana also served with a fresh salad. We have visited DeLucas for over 40 years now and the Italian cuisine has for ever been consistent. I had loss one of my glass lenses that evening but even with one eye you can see there is no better place for family dinners, Romantic dining or stuff yourself with that fantastic pizza. Did I forget that fresh homemade bread rolls?

Karen H.

Yelp
One of the last restaurants like this around, kind of old school. Mom & pop but still special, special occasion type of food. It is comforting. The food ranges from pretty good to just okay. Writing mostly because the service today was impeccable. CINDY was one of the best servers ever. She knew what we needed before we even knew. Was quick to come by with waters, bread, and boxes. And was very sweet but not around too often if you know what I mean! Give this girl a raise! Thanks for making my parents' 45th anniversary a hit.

Robert T.

Yelp
It's sad they don't put chick peas in the salads anymore. Perhaps they thought no one would notice. Been eating their delicious pepperoni pizza and salads with homemade dressing for 50 years. During covid the peas disappeared.

Jim K.

Yelp
Excellent service. Food portions were huge. Prices are really good. Pizza was excellent. Pizza toppings tasted super fresh. Definitely recommend.

Theresa D.

Yelp
Delicious food. Celebrated birthdays there over the last few years. No complaints. Great ambiance

Yelp
Old School Pizza since 1957 with thousands of families as regular customers. Happy National Pizza Day 2024. My first visit of many to come. Strange hours Tuesday -Saturday 4pm till 8 pm and Sunday Noon till 8, that's when we went. A full house three Dining rooms full, a wait to be seated only a few minutes. Loads of take out orders will a special door to pick up. A true Silcilian restaurant with full bar and banquet room. Started with a Medium Antipasto Salad and Bread Basket fresh outta the oven. She had Italian Wedding Soup . We ordered the large house Special Pizza Wowed takes me back to my childhood. I ordered a marvelous dish Mixed Gnocchi n Ravioli filled with Sausage smothered with Sicilian Spicy Cream Sauce OMG one of the very best Pasta dishes ever eaten . I'm so addicted to this sauce which I had leftovers for next day. A full menu of Broasted Chicken and Prime Rib be on our next visit. Really don't know why none of our local media never mentions this place. 67 years you know they doing it right, oh yeah prices 30 percent lower than those Pizza chain's. Shout out to Sharron our Superstar Waitress a fantastic 5 star job. I talked with a owner about reviews around the web, he said I never read them mostly bad. I told him not just take a look at Yelp and Google to see hundreds of 5 star reviews. That's a good reason this place is non stop packed I'm very sure . See the Website Full menu here https://delucaswestland.com/ true Silcilian Gem in Metro Detroit makes this a must visit. #delucasrestaurant #nationalpizzaday #sicilianrestaurant #oldschoolpizza #antipastosalad #gnocchi #pizza #downriverfriendseat

Yelp
Visited with my parents the bread was mediocre and cold they ordered the prime rib my mothers prime rib wasn't cooked right the first time had to send it back my fathers prime rib was fine. I ordered a sangria drunk half of it then discovered a hair attached to my orange that's been soaking in the bottom of my drink I felt disgusted. My whitening fish was nasty wouldn't recommend it wasn't seasoned I ordered fried it most definitely wasn't fried it was more baked than anything I had a small bite out of it and sent it back and it was still a whole piece left they insisted that it didn't get taken off my bill even though I didn't eat it and didn't enjoy it. The only thing I ate was a baked potato with sour cream, a salad, corn, and mozzarella sticks our bill at first was 89 and went down to 81 after only paying for the sides I at mind you the whitening was $19 including sides. The manager tried to school me saying even though I ordered it and didn't eat it I should still pay for it.

Yelp
Oh old faithful. If you know, you know. This place is a staple for some classic easy cheap food, especially for family get togethers or carry out. Order some pizza or chicken parm and call it a night, easy peasy. Really enjoy the food and the staff

Sharon D.

Yelp
The food and services were great. We arrived on a very busy Sunday with many Christmas parties scheduled. We were seated after a short wait. Waters and hot bread basket were waiting for us. Husband liked his lasagna with meat, salad with blue cheese. I enjoyed my Alfredo and wine . Used to frequent this place 30 years ago.Happened to be close by and thought to try it.Glad we did.

William P.

Yelp
Visiting the Detroit area from Tampa Bay, our family suggested we go to one of their favorites, Deluca's. I ordered the lasagna and judge this to be THE best lasagna I have ever eaten. I love lots of stringy gooey cheese on my lasagna and this is the only time I have ever said there's enough cheese. Bravo Deluca's!

Kevin R.

Yelp
Ordered the Deluca Special pizza for the 25 years! The best around! Still Comes in the brown paper bag with the grease stains from the pepperoni. I love it!

Dianne R.

Yelp
We found a hair in a breadsticks. The salad was basically just iceberg lettuce. My sister ordered marinara sauce and got meat sauce. The waitress brought out a marinara to go and suggested washing the gnocchi, boiling it, and adding the marinara sauce. The marinara sauce is spicy (some people like that though). Waitress was not nice.

Jojo M.

Yelp
Bad place overall do not come here. Rude service , food makes you have stomach ache and it's from a box. Also , the ambiance is trashy.

Jennifer W.

Yelp
This was a very large family dinner and they did a great job making sure all tables had food around the same time as the others and we had plenty of water and pop. That's not an easy task with over 60 people but they did it well. We had a great antipasto salad, supreme pizza and the crust was amazing! I could have eaten the whole basket of breadsticks if it weren't for the the amazing salad and pizza too, lol. I wasn't the only one, we all seemed drawn to the perfectly chewy, fluffy, garlic bread sticks. And my son who eats light, ate 4-6 helpings of the family platter of pasta and he ate the leftovers later that night for dinner ( his choice)!

Jt M.

Yelp
My in-laws started coming here when they were a young married couple in the 1950's. The tradition continues with us. The antipasto salad is delicious (though I recommend the dressing on the side because it can get soggy.) They also have delicious breadsticks and our favorite, pizza. This place was hopping on a Saturday night but the wait was reasonable and our waitress was superb. The tradition continues...

Chris B.

Yelp
This is real Italian family cooking. The pizza is like just NYC pizza. The pepperoni are those little cups of delicious grease. If you want an ordinary pizza that's similar to a frozen pizza, don't come here. If you want a cheese celebration with all the herbs and spices that are expected in great Italian foods, this is the place. I recommend it.

Ed R.

Yelp
I had the lasagna, a generous serving size (wow) , and a very nice antipasto salad... delicious! We had excellent service with a smile!. Looking forward to trying more dishes there. In the words of the Terminator, " I'll be back" ! Pleasant atmosphere makes it great for family and friends to congregate. Attractive servers are a bonus! Thanks

Yelp
I can't believe I haven't been here living on this side of town for so many years. I've been here twice in the last few weeks and my experience has been fantastic. They are only open 20 hours a week four hours each day Tuesday through Saturday. it appears that people lineup at 4 o'clock to get in Old-school Italian served up here. Great shrimp cocktail for nine dollars includes five shrimp. Their bread is wonderful, I slather it with butter nice vinaigrette for the salad, ranch is just OK. There's spaghetti with meat sauce is nice and sweet big regular size, spaghetti, noodles lots meat and meatballs are very tasty. It was suggested I don't order the cheesecake and more than one occasion so I will take them at word. on my second visit, I ordered the prime rib because it looked really good last time but they were out. I was a bit disappointed in the waitress, took it back. I ordered medium rare. It came out medium and it wasn't very tender at all. Looked completely different than the one I had seen previously, but that was nice that she recognized that I was disappointed and I ended up getting spaghetti with meat sauce again very good service highly recommended

Cindy B.

Yelp
They have great food. We have done several events there in the past and were never disappointed. The service is great. They were always asking if we need anything.

Kingbabydomini C.

Yelp
I will continue to drive 45 minutes to grab their antipasto salad, the best I've ever had. The bread, baked spaghetti and pizza are staples as well..

Blaise B.

Yelp
I hadn't been here since I was a little kid, but we came here after my grandpa's funeral and WOW it really brought the day up a few notches lol. Everything we ate was straight up amazing, from the salad all the way to dessert. I'd never had spumoni before, but OMG it's delicious!!! And nowhere else really seems to have it, so I'll be back for that for sure. I can't wait to come back without having a funeral also going on...

Anna S.

Yelp
Came here for a banquet after a funeral and was both impressed and really unimpressed. The exterior and aroma when you first walk in would lead you to be REALLY excited for old school Italian food, but it didn't deliver on it's promises. The facility is lovely, clean and accommodated a lot of people for this event, and the food was pretty good. We received, family style, penne and meat sauce, bread baskets, salad, roasted chicken and green beans. The food was pretty good and there was a lot of it. There was also spumoni and cannoli balls for dessert. The biggest issue was the staff - they were unbelievably rude, intrusive, haphazard and honestly acted as though they hated life. On two occasions I had the pleasure of having to dart out of the way as they nearly ran me down while I wasn't seated, and they would dump plates of food off on the table wherever without any care regarding glasses or plates already on the table. It was ridiculous.

Michelle K.

Yelp
Tried this for the first time tonight and I'll definitely go back. Waitstaff was very friendly, food was amazing. My husband had the chicken parmesan, he said the chicken was so tender and moist. I had the Parmesan spaghetti, I usually don't like red sauce outside of my own home but theirs was very good. My grandson got the pepperoni pizza and loved it. Even the owner was walking around helping his staff clean up for the night which tells me he really cares about his restaurant and staff.

Ray T.

Yelp
I been going there for about 54 years. My Aunt was a bar maid, so was my Mom before her. My brother was a pizza maker all back in the day. There were house's where the parking lots are now. And a fruit stand across the street and a A&P kitty corner from them. Good food great staff.

Frank G.

Yelp
The food was excellent--everyone in our large party of 9 had various dishes that seemed to meet or exceed expectations. And the portions were huge--we feasted the next evening on leftovers--just as tasty on the second serving. We were seated after a very brief wait and our server was prompt with the drink orders. There were no mix-ups, no substitues--she made the evening delightful. The restaurant closes at 8 pm and we were in a section that was empty by the time we were half-way through our meals--so I expected a little table-bussing noise. A perfect first night in town.

Ann B.

Yelp
I have been to Delucas and got their pizza which was great. (Oh how I miss their bread baskets) Ordered carry out. Boyfriend got the broasted chicken (he said it was delicious) I got a half order of spaghetti with mushrooms. There was very little marinara in it. The mushrooms were from a can. Pasta was over done. Garlic sticks were really greasy. I thought I was getting Garlic sticks but it seems to me it was cheese bread. So bummed to give a low review because their pizza both in restaurant and their take and bake are delicious.

Tina V.

Yelp
This place is hands down good ol fashion Italian/American food! Pizza and chicken parm are delish! Antipasto salad is great but the dinner salad was terrible, ice berg lettuce including the white core pieces, ugh. Oh my I almost forgot the best part, the waitress brought some cannoli bites to the table on the house( it was my mom's bday) holy cannoli those things are dangerously good!!!

Rick K.

Yelp
Always a great pizza. Quick and friendly service. The atmosphere is what you want for the dining experience.

Peter P.

Yelp
Surviving on past memories in my opinion. Went there recently with three others and all of us were sadly disappointed. Pasta sauce looked like wallpaper paste just floating on the pasta. I needed to add liquid to make it stick to the pasta. That is shameful. The owners need to step up and learn Italian cooking again. Sadly I won't go back until I see some outstanding reviews. There are too many great Italian restaurants to be tried before returning to Deluca's.

Tony D.

Yelp
The best place to stop in for a great meal ! Been in same location for years great Flavors every dish many family dinners as a kid and I'm close to retiring and they are still going strong! Can't wait to next time I'm back in the area.

Lia B.

Yelp
Really like this place. Their ravioli is THE BEST. Good service and good prices.

V K.

Yelp
It was delicious! And our server was the best! I wish I could remember her name! She was kinda curvy with blonde hair and maybe in her mid 40's to early 50's . When we go back we will definitely be hoping to find her there again. She was sweet to my son who is a covid baby so hasn't been out much and was screaming up a storm... she recommended dishes that we all loved! It was great!

J T.

Yelp
I ordered the 8 PC broasted chicken, large veggie pizza and large salad. Everything was amazing especially the chicken! This is the second time I ordered from here and the quality and quantity are amazing!!! Only con is the close at 8pm.

Deborah H.

Yelp
Husband and I have been dining here for 3 decades and they must be doing something consistently correct, and that is predictable good service and delicious food! We have tried many entree's of the large selections of Italian, American, and their delicious pizza and desserts from the menu. Our favs are the meat and cheese ravioli's, lasagna, chicken Parmesan, antipasto salad, and that basket of warm garlic butter bread you get with every meal, and last but not least their delish pizza. Wait staff are very friendly and accommodating. Covid precautions followed and masks worn by the staff. I highly recommend De Luca's A+ Debbie, Riverview Mich

Sarah R.

Yelp
The service was super friendly. And humble. I loved the smells coming in. And the prime rib knocked my socks off. Salad was just plain basic iceberg it that's okay. Classic is good. The sides I ordered were spaghetti and baked potato. It was awesome and I feel cheap for prime rib. I can't wait to come back to try the pizza. My BF had the veal parm. I thought it was a tad salty but I don't like salt anyways. And I'm not a fan of veal although he loved it so that's all that matters. And for COVID they really had every other table seated and blocked which I loved.

Alex T.

Yelp
We've been coming here for years. Great service, authentic food, and always a great experience. Highly recommended.

Jax W.

Yelp
First visit for me. The service was attentive and atmosphere was welcoming. The food was not amazing there are better options for Italian fare to be had. However we will go back and try different items. We are curious about the pizza.

Tracy N.

Yelp
I cannot say enough good things about this place. It was recommended by a shop keeper as we are from out of state. Thank you for giving us a superb anniversary meal! My spouse and I and our friends were quietly celebrating. The alfredos were soo yummy and my husband's pizza was great! Service was top notch! Loved our waitress! Thank you again. When we visit again-we will be back here for food for sure!!!

Wendy M.

Yelp
I've been coming here since the 80's. We have had several family events throughout the years, including a 90th Birthday for my Grandmother last month. The pizza was just as good as I remember, breadsticks were amazing, and service was awesome.

Carlos O.

Yelp
This place used to be my favorite. Been going there for yrs. My parents also. Since I was 4. They have been steadily declining in quality the past4 yrs. Pasta isnt made in house. Bland soups , Pizza ingredients seem a lower quality. Not the delucas I have been acustomed to for the past 35+ yrs

Steven B.

Yelp
Quality control is non-existent. Worst lasagna I've ever had! Tasted like Chef Boyardee. The breadsticks were bland and the only taste was the buttery spread. Pasty dry. Not going back!

Tolima P.

Yelp
Wow! The food was just unbelievable! The service was fast kind and efficient! Thank you for a wonderful dinner.

Melissa S.

Yelp
Super cute place, old fashion service old fashioned food, home made matches the finest. There's nothing here you won't go wow that's good. Great drinks too. Always busy, anytime we visit Detroit we stop in. It's worth the business. I crave the lasagna!

Barbara P.

Yelp
We haven't been to DeLucas for about 15 years. It's still a comfortable atmosphere with great service. However, the pizza has changed. It's now got a strong garlic taste- overwhelms all other ingredients. It's not the delicious pizza we remember. Not sure why they think drowning the pizza in garlic was a good idea- it isn't. And the chicken noodle soup no longer has homemade noodles in it- regular store bought curly noodles you get at the grocery store. Takes away from the otherwise delicious chicken broth. Bring back the original pizza recipe please!!!

Mike M.

Yelp
Terrible pizza, rubbery and DRY. Salad was good when it finally showed up. Waitress was lethargic and largely not engaged in customer satisfaction. The Gnocchi and ravioli looked liked Detroit River dredgings, see attached picture. I don't know when they started cooking the pizza on that black piece of plastic with the little ribs on it but they should go back to the old-school way.

Mike Q.

Yelp
I have been a customer here since I was a small child so for 30 plus years. I even had my high school grad party here. FYI I am 34 now. In the last couple of years it hasn't been the same. The ravioli's used to be one of the main stay dishes. They were big and homemade. Now the ones they serve look like someone pulled them out of the freezer. I even tried there fettuccine Alfredo and the sauce was like soup with no flavor. I don't know what has changed over the years, but it is not the same homemade Italian I grew up. At least the pizza, spaghetti and gnocchi appear to still be the same. If it wasn't I would probably never eat their again.
