COVID-19 Forces Tennessee’s First Cat Cafe, Mewsic Kitty Cafe to Close Soon | Eater Nashville

"I noticed the downtown Demos location is vacant with for-sale signs in the windows—an April Yelp update said that location was closed temporarily due to COVID-19—while the Hendersonville, Lebanon, and Murfreesboro locations appear to still be open; Demos has operated in Middle Tennessee since 1989 and offers a wide menu from steaks, chicken, and seafood to twelve homemade spaghetti sauces." - Delia Jo Ramsey

Google
Wonderful food and service. We had a table of 9 and things were a little cramped, but the service more than made up for it! The cheesy bread that just keeps coming is AMAZING! The spinach dip was meh, because it wasn't a dip so much as a tiny bowl of wilted spinach with chunks of garlic to put on tortilla chips. The dishes I was able to photograph before everyone just dove in were my husband's sirloin medallions with Italian sausage pasta -$11.99, salmon imperial with roasted zucchini and I had the seafood baked potato - $9.99. We also got our choice of soup or salad sides. Everyone cleaned their plates!! I also shared a bottle of red blended wine by Cupcake Vineyards- VERY smooth for a red, not dry but not sweet either. The restaurant was well lit, so I could actually read the menu without having to use the flashlight app on my phone. 😂 The only complaint, other than close quarters on the tables, was they had the AC running when it was 42 degrees outside. They turned it off when our food arrived, but it was back on during dessert Everything was reasonably priced. Overall, we would definitely go back!

Google
Absolutely fabulous. Our waitress Hailey was a joyful. The food was fabulous. Steak perfectly cooked. Spaghetti and special sauce was very tasty. Bread was great. Everyone enjoyed their dinner. We all had steaks but various sides.

Google
The atmosphere was relaxing. I was very surprised to hear Christian music playing in the mix of the play list. My server was very nice and attentive. The steak was good, a little over cooked for medium, but it had a great taste. The steak was a lower quality of ribeye, but I expected that for the price. They are hiring if someone is looking for a job.

Google
Excellent customer service coming through the door. They do accept reservations. The restaurant was very clean and the food aroma hit you before you enter the door. The menu is very reasonable. The food came out hot and tasted very good. I highly recommend this restaurant!

Google
This was an incredibly frustrating and disappointing experience. We ordered dinner from Demos using UberEats and the entire order was a mess when it arrived. The soup had spilled all over the bag and onto the rest of the food. Everything was soggy and unappetizing. To make matters worse, I ordered the 13 ounce chicken tender meal and was clearly given the smaller portion. When I reached out to UberEats support, they only gave me two dollars back which does not even cover the difference in the meal size. That refund was a joke. It is clear that Demos either does not care about delivery customers or is not communicating with Uber at all. Since there is no other way to get their attention, I am leaving this review in hopes that someone at the restaurant takes responsibility. If this is the level of service they are comfortable with, I will not be ordering again.

Google
The steaks were not bad for the price. The sides were bigger than I thought they would be which was a good surprise.

Google
The best restaurant experience and flavors we have had in a long time! Plus our waitress Melissa was FANTASTIC- keep her as long as she wants. We did the chicken salad and the AUCE salad and soup. Soup was as good as homemade, salad was simple but their homemade dressings are FANTASTIC- probably the best blue cheese ive ever had! And the garliv bread rolls, pimento cheese app was just the cherry on top!

Google
I’m so disappointed, Demos restaurant has been a favorite of my family for sometime. We’ve been going for years. I’m currently 6 months pregnant and called in a take out order of soup and three rolls. After finishing two rolls and working on my third I noticed mold on the bread. I wasn’t paying attention because I figured the person fixing my food would pay attention to what’s being served even if it’s take out. I was so scared to get sick because food poisoning can put a pregnant mom in the hospital. I called and asked to speak to a manager to tell them my concerns and let them know to check other to go orders. All I received was an apology and told that that is horrible. I debate writing this review but ultimately decided that people need to be held accountable.

Yelp
Demos' has been in Manchester for decades serving up classic Italian as well as traditional American dishes. Inside the restaurant is a nice warm vibe that reminds you of the 60s. We were greeted by a vey friendly server. Their daily lunch special had very good deals such as Chicken Primavera for just $7.95. I tried their blackened chicken pasta which came with chunks of chicken in Louisiana cream sauce. The chicken was nicely seasoned and wasn't over loaded with sauce. I also recommend their famous side of chicken and rice soup. If you're in the mood for good food served in a cozy atmosphere then checkout Demos'

Yelp
We came here while visiting family during our first visit to TN. Here is my breakdown. Food: 2.5-3/5 The food here, in my opinion, was just ok. I ordered the lasagna, my wife ordered the spaghetti, my brother in-law ordered the steak. My lasagna was ok, but my brother in-law ordered medium-rare but the steak came out very rare. My boys usually devour chicken fettuccine, but they did not each very much of it tonight. Price: 5/5 The price may have been average for the area, but this was the first restaurant we went to since arriving in TN from CA. So, from what I'm used to at home, the prices here were excellent! I'm used to seeing $22-28 per pasta dish at home. Here, the average price was $15 a dish. Some things cheaper or more depending on the meat. Customer Service: 5/5 The customer service was excellent. The servers were extremely attentive and friendly. The food arrived quick. We were extremely happy with the customer service. Ambiance: 4/5 The ambiance was nice. The restaurant is pretty big and each room has a slightly different vibe. We were here with several extended family members and it was good for an outing like that. Demo's is a good place to go if you are looking for a lively place to go with friends or family for well priced, average food.

Yelp
First time visitors to this place and it was great. We were a large party and were promptly seated when we arrived. The staff was attentive and friendly. The menu has a good selection ranging from pasta dishes, to seafood, chicken and a couple other categories. Their biscuits are perfectly flavored and fluffy and the cheese bread with marinara was delicious! Portions are good, not too much food but for most of us we brought home left overs. The chicken and rice soup was a perfect start to the meal too!

Yelp
Whenever I get a chance to visit middle Tennessee, my friend and I always make it a point to try to make at least one visit to Demos to remember how delicious their baked chicken soup is, experience, the unbelievably friendly and courteous service and be welcomed by one restaurant, but really knows how to make you feel like part of the family. Family run, this restaurant is legendary and their ability to take basic simple recipes like burgers, steaks and pasta and elevate them just enough to make them into a special family experience. The restaurant has always been welcoming and cozy with a sense that it's like coming home to an aunt that saved you a place at her dining room table. Love the pot roast, the ribeye steak sandwich, and we usually take home a gallon of the baked chicken soup to enjoy at home over the next few days. It is one place that I always remember from every trip to Murphysboro and stands out from all the rest. restaurant capacity and parking can handle at least 200 people.

Yelp
I had not been to Demos' in probably 15 years and it was a cold evening and I was in the area of the Murfreesboro location and thought that the chicken and rice soup sounded nice so we stopped in. We were seated immediately by a kind hostess. The server followed up quickly and took our drink order and also pointed out the specials. The menu is pretty extensive. I had forgotten about the brown butter spaghetti so I went that route and my partner had the oven baked chicken. Everything came out as ordered, steaming hot. One of the sides we ordered was really over seasoned but they took care of it immediately. Great service, cozy restaurant, and great value. Overall, a nice place, especially for families.

Yelp
We always enjoy meals at Demo's. Food is always very tasty. Service is always very good. I always get the blacken chicken pasta which is delish. Hubby always switched it up between the burger or chili spaghetti. The chicken rice soup is delish!!! And those rolls they bring out to you.......YUMMY. They also sell their seasoning salt there which is very good. We use it often on meals we cook at home.

Yelp
Beware! Had dinner on 9/16/25 at Demos'. My friend had the chili over spaghetti. She was in the bathroom four times after eating the chili. I told the server to have the food thrown out. We didn't make it home before a stop at a gas for a 20-minute stay in the bathroom. I could not submit a warning to the restaurant via website due to server error issue. Could not find an email address for Demos'. When my friend called Demos' the next day the person said they would make sure the chili is made according to the recipe. Dumb response. Does the recipe call for tainted ingredients?

Yelp
I like Demo's and the food is usually good. My kids like to go there and so do my friends and family. The prices are good and has a nice atmosphere. Not too loud and on occasion that wait isn't long or bad. 3.5 stars though for service. For me it's been a real hit or miss with the service. It's either they're great and/ or sociable but on other times it's just lack luster for the service. I guess you just have to get the right person on the right day. I hope my next trip back we have someone who wants to be our server. I still tipped 20% because the food was good and came out in a timely manner.

Dorene W.

Yelp
Service was a 5 Star! Atmosphere 5 Star! Food was subpar! I love Demos! I eat there every time I'm in town, once or twice a year, and the food was not good tonight... it was very bland. I had brown butter spaghetti and there was no taste to the meal. I lived in Murfreesboro for 36 years and I loved Demos so I am saddened to find the food quality is slipping!

Yelp
Small portions of food that has no plate. And you kind of have to wait a long time to get a refill on any liquid. I've tried this place many times with my family and we've always been disappointed

Yelp
Decided to try something different while out of town for work. There was plenty of parking available and they have a large parking lot. Immediately when you enter, the staff greets you and ask are you getting take out or dining in. I was dining in by myself. The ambience was very nice for a date night, family celebration, or if you're by yourself and want to chill at the bar. Since it was just me, I sat at a booth in the bar area. It was the perfect size big enough for two people. My waitress Peyton brought me a regular menu and the monthly special menu. I ordered the ribeye, salad, and spaghetti since it was my first time and they have a large selection. They brought me some Parmesan crusted bread that was very soft and tasty. My salad was a basic salad, but the ranch was homemade and delicious. The salad had been washed and that was a plus. The spaghetti was the best spaghetti I ever ate. I got the meat sauce as my sauce choice. It was seasoned to perfection and well balanced. The pasta was perfectly cooked. My steak was good, very juicy and just a slight bit salty. Overall I would give this restaurant a 9/10. One thing I was really impressed by was the staff was mostly young people and they were cleaning the vents and dusting. I will definitely be back to try a different pasta, meat, and more spaghetti.

Yelp
Went today with my friend! Really good food, the soup and cheesy bread is always nostalgic and rich, and I love the variety of pastas they have. We were served by Jonathan, and he was just the best!! Our drinks were always full, we never had to flag him down, he was very quick, and always polite! We filled out a comment card for him, but we forgot to write his name on the ticket when we dropped it into the comment box, so I hope he sees this!! Great service and food, would recommend. :)

Yelp
Okay first off, let's settle the debate of pronunciation. Because the possessive apostrophe is after the S (Demos') and not before the S (Demo's), it is pronounced like DEE-MUSS-ES. If the possessive apostrophe were removed it would still be spelled Demos ( DEE-MUSS), but because there's an apostrophe you add the extra ES sound at the end. ANYWAYS... This is one fantastic Italian family eatery! Their signature rice soup is very very good, their blackened chicken pasta is devine, and their cheesy bread is oh so good. The cheesy bread we got as an appetizer, but all food comes with rolls as a starter on the house which are even better in my opinion! I took my girlfriend here on a date and was not disappointed. Prices were fair and their portions were generous. Our service was good, and the vibe was cozy. An overall great place to eat!

Yelp
The first restaurant I went to where it was extremely warm in there. Probably because of how close the booths/chairs are to each other so everyone's body heat was radiating. We ordered the potato skins as an app and they were more like baked potatoes than actual potato 'skin.' the Salmon was okay but needed more seasoning. The zucchini was really good though. Our server was awesome and kept refilling our bread the entire time we were there. I probably won't come back here again, but if I do I may try the pasta because I saw a lot of people ordering it and it sounded really good on the menu.

Yelp
We have always enjoyed dining here since we came to the area food, service was always great, however it was clearly noticeable that' portion sizes were considerably smaller and prices had increased? Server was not quite on her game ,spilled my wine ,forgot things . I'm not sure what to think ?

Yelp
We love eating there! Thanks so much for the great food! the food and also the waitress and waiters are great too .and It's clean. We will be seeing you soon!!! The Hay''s family Murfreesboro, MUrfreesboro

Yelp
The food is amazing! Excellent spaghetti sauce and a great steak! The cheese toast appetizer is probably the best cheese bread EVER!

Yelp
This place is an absolute joke of an establishment, with some of the worst service I have experienced. After making reservations and still having to wait over an hour, I was then refused service. The amount of my time this place wasted is criminal and I assure you I, and everyone I know will not be back.

Jimmy D.

Yelp
Was just there on Friday with a party of 10, 5 of which were children 10 and under. Wife ordered the Giant Ribeye 14 oz and it was 25-30% fat. I am familiar with ribeye, but this was excessive. Mentioned it to the waitress and she shrugged it off. It was also way over seasoned as was all of the food we ordered. The side salad was some iceberg lettuce cut up on a small plate. The meal was maybe average at best. My other bone of contention is they added 18% gratuity to the bill but did not mention that when the bill was dropped off. I was preparing to pay the bill in cash and just caught the gratuity before paying. I almost got double dipped. Won't be heading back here anytime soon.

Yelp
Demos' is a family oriented local chain and has always had great quality, great service & great value. All the pasta dishes are awesome and the soup is excellent. Chili spaghetti is a good choice also. I went for lunch today and got the "grilled Caesar salad" with chicken, but they happily cooked it blackened instead upon my request. The chicken was juicy and had a great flavor. The croutons were on point. Definitely recommend!

Yelp
I went for lunch on a Saturday. The wait was very long for a table of 5. We were told 45 minutes but got a table at about 1 hour. The rolls are a staple and so good. For my meal, I got the blackened chicken pasta. It was very good but it was so creamy and made my stomach hurt. I also have a rather sensitive stomach so go figure.

Yelp
Came on Mothers Day, with a party. Due to being such a busy day, parking was difficult to find as you can imagine. However there was some idiot literally double parked in the back of the restaurant with his engine running and just kept reving his engine for over 20 minutes while we waited and when I called the restaurant to complain, the manager never came to the phone. On top of that the only thing good here is the chicken tenders and the salad.
google avatar

Heather S.

Yelp
Came here with a group and while seated quickly, I learned there was a reason this place wasn't busy on a Thursday night and could seat 11 people immediately. There wasn't a single item I tried that I could recommend. We had 3 appetizers all of which there was plenty left when removed from our table. The meatball appetizer was pretty nasty and seemed reheated out of a bag. The Spinach dip was nothing like one would expect and hardly any cheese. The shrimp cocktail was pretty gross. Slimmy and smelly. As I chatted with others from my group who had been here, I gathered that this is an old family after church kinda' place. Many people who come here come here out of family nostalgia. It's bland, over priced, and just not good.

Yelp
The three stars came from our actual meal itself and how the issue was handled. Our service by Taylor was outstanding. Let me be very clear on that. She waited on us, checked in and was mortified over the issue we had once our entrees came. But first let me say my nephew recommended we meet him here as he is at MTSU and likes this "sit down place" which means better than bar and fast food. We went on a Thursday night after looking at wedding venues for upcoming nuptials and we're surprised at how busy they were and yet still no wait. Big spacious area and full of seating. We all three ordered entrees, which include a salad or soup. We all ordered The Soup as it's called. It's a chicken and rice soup which is good for sure. Plus the cheddar bread/rolls they bring are so good. The broccoli side is the absolute best steamed broccoli I've ever had-even better than what I make at home. The homemade hash browns my fiancé ordered were delish too! My nephew ordered the pesto Alfredo and the serving was huge. A 20 year old college boy got full!! However....when my fiancé cut into his quarter roasted chicken he discovered it wasn't fully cooked through-it was cold inside. Cold. He asked me to check mine as I hadn't cut into it yet, and mine was not even warm-ish to the touch. We did let the waitress know and she took them back to the kitchen. She was very kind, as we understood too sometimes you just are trying to plate and not check the temp but the chicken wasn't done on both of ours. They put the chicken we'd already cut open back in the oven and "redid it" bringing it back out about 8 minutes later with refilled sides. She was apologetic and we said it wasn't her fault at all. But y'all-no manager who we'd seen walk by multiple times before that came by and we were charged fully for both entrees too. That was what stuck us wrong. The waitress apologized and was mortified but I would expect the manager to come over or a discount for the additional wait on our meal would occur. We weren't angling for a free meal but we'd like to not potentially get food poisoning from uncooked chicken. We may be back when visiting him again but I don't think we'll recommend the place to our family and friends visiting for our wedding in town in a few months.

Yelp
Decided to give Demos a try for dinner...been over 4 years since I gave up on them due to substandard food and service. The bar is now open for dining...I hate taking up a table for 4 when I am by myself. Kaitlin was behind the bar and got me started with a beer and water while I looked over the menu. I ordered the K.C. Strip Steak (medium rare) along with chili spaghetti and opted for the "deluxe salad toppings" on the side salad. The Demos bread was also provided with the requested butter, but not the same "chunk" of real butter, some kind of butter spread. The salad was chilled and crisp, but the $1.39 upcharge for "deluxe" toppings really wasn't worth it IMHO. The steak was a good size, nice and thick, with good marbling. It was prepared as requested and the flavor was really good...so good there were no leftovers! Love the chili spaghetti...same flavors I remembered and a good side to the steak. Overall the meal was good and Kaitlin took excellent care of me. Guess I will have to come back and put Demos back on my dining list.

Yelp
Demos' is a place to visit when you want comfort food, great quality, and an incredible value for your money. The service is always fantastic and the restaurant is extremely clean. We live 30 minutes away but this has become one of our go to restaurants. The kids love their spaghetti with alfredo and the fajita chicken with red beans and rice is my favorite.

Yelp
We just moved to TN and Demos was on the recommended list by our realtor and neighbors. We tried it the Friday after Christmas and it did not disappoint. Service from Anthony was SUPERB. He actually bumped this from 4 to 5 stars. I couldn't make my mind up on the soup - chicken rice house daily or the special tomato basil. He let me sample both! He also did us right with the delicious rolls (free with your meal btw). Even though the restaurant was packed our service felt like we were the only ones in the place. He was helpful, solid recommendations, but not over doing it. If you get Anthony you will get an "experience". Food was good and the menu allowed everyone in our group to get what they wanted. I had the lasagna which was delicious with not a bite left on the plate. And btw ... the chicken rice soup is flavorful and mild. I told my husband if I catch a cold he will need to come pick me up some of this soup! We will be back.

Yelp
This is a special place to my wife and I. She is a Murfreesboro native and demos catered our wedding. The soup and bread were good as usual. We ordered the ribeye and grilled chicken tenderloins. Both came out quickly, but the steak was over cooked. The ribeye was well well done instead of a nice medium. The server was quick and happy to get the issue fixed. A manager personally brought out the second steak and confirmed it was to our liking. Mistakes happen and the staff were quick to make it right. The server did a great job all night and provided us a complimentary reese's pie for the trouble.

Yelp
Kalee was so sweet and kind. We wish every server could be just like her! She set the tone for a great meal. We enjoyed the chicken Alfredo, choped steak and always the bread and soup. The food is always delicious! She was very sweet and enjoyed our jokes and riddles. Thank you, Miss Kalee! Thomas and Deb

Yelp
Food was AWESOME!! I tasted my friend's chicken and rice soup and was blown away! It was more like a bisque. Also tasted her grilled zucchini and it was AMAZING! A menu item you dream about having again. Highly recommend this restaurant!!

Maddie M.

Yelp
We have never been here before as we are traveling from out of town. This was an amazing find and we couldn't have asked for better service better food or a better environment. We will definitely be coming back again.

Nicole A.

Yelp
I take back all my precieved notions about this place. It's a wonderful place to work. The staff if awesome the people are awesome. I made a remark on something that wasn't even their fault. They are God oriented and wonderful company to work for. I highly recommend the food the atmosphere and the people all together. Specially the management. They work hard to achieve what the business needs and to make people feel special when they walk through the door.

Frank P.

Yelp
When I received my order the meat, and sauce were cold. I asked the waiter to have the meal heated. 15 minutes later, my plate returns and it is just like nothing was done. I took a bite of it and the meat was over fried and hard. Tasted terrible. Returned to waiter. No apology, and no refund, totally ignored. Manager didn't even come over. Don't know what was going on, but will not return.

Dana Y.

Yelp
Everything was flavorful, and the lunch specials were especially tasty bargains! The sweet tea was exceptional... not bitter and not overly sweet! (Although I do kinda miss the simple syrup they used to serve...)
google avatar

Lynn R.

Yelp
It used to be really good and clean. I haven't been in a few years because the last several times I went everything was sticky from the floor up. I've heard it's still the same.

Yelp
We had the most amazing dinner at Demos'! Rigo was our server and he made us feel right at home. We took his suggestions for dinner and were really happy with our meals. We can't wait to come back, we had such a great time!

T B.

Yelp
I have not been to Demos in a while but ordered what I have ordred 90% of the times I have eaten there - Meatball spaghetti with meat sauce nstead of marinara because the marinara makes me sick. The server replied, "I wil see if they can do that." I told her I always order it that way. She got attitude. A few minutes later she had nice customer service but the spaghetti came with marinara!!! I tried eating it and just could not so I told her. She said "well that's how it is made" I reminded her how i ordred it and she replied "oh I musinderstood" No she did not. She told me the manager would bring it. Themanager did bring it and said "Here" and that is it. Again the server end up being nice and serving but this was not a good experience and I did get sick from eating the part of the marinara that i did eat. I will say when they brought the correct one they brought dinner portion AND ONLY charged lunch portion.

Evan D.

Yelp
Rolls are delicious, service was a little slow, but it was busy. Pasta was good (especially brown butter) but I was given a dirty napkin wrapped around my silverware. I was not given a replacement, but I survived. I'd give 3.5 if I could, decent overall.

Heather H.

Yelp
We've been wanting to go here for a very long time, because it's supposedly a Nashville institution. But from the moment we got there until we left it was just chaos and bad food. People were screaming and hollering at each other in the badly designed parking lot. Markings on the pavement directing one way, but the opposite direction is the only way to actually go, so people stuck, having to back up, and an altercation happened. My car almost got smashed by an impatient driver. Signature The Soup was bland with mushy rice, no veg, just a watery cream broth and stringy chicken. I had to send my pasta back bc I was spitting hard bits of something??? out of my mouth from the chicken that was clearly made on a grill that hadn't been scraped and had remnants charred into it and the fettuccine noodles were glued together in twos and threes. Gross. My husband's steak was half gristle. I was charged an extra $3 for Caesar side salad that came with my meal, which makes no sense to charge that much more for a salad comprised of fewer ingredients than the house salad. And the whole time, the place is loud, crowded, rushing people in and out. Couldn't have relaxed for the meal even had the food been edible. Never going back.

Dale B.

Yelp
It's a shame that Demos' has gone downhill over the years, but it has. We've gone there since it first opened and have seen it decline lately. My wife and I were there 2 days ago and this time we both ordered the soup and salad. The soup was barely warm again, instead of the dressing on the side, it was drowning in it. The bread was hard, and lukewarm like the temperature of the soup. I know that they are remodeling again, but they need to fix the service and food first. We weren't offered refills on the soup and salad, it was supposed to be AYCE..

Courtney B.

Yelp
Meat sauce spaghetti & chicken tenders have been too salty lately. And the bread seems different now than years past, not in a good way. Love the renovations, but the food quality seems to be lacking over the past couple years.
google avatar

Emily L.

Yelp
I really like demo's. The bread they give you before your meal is very soft and delicious, it can be very oily sometimes though. I always get the spaghetti alfredo, their alfredo sauce is just to die for and I really like it with their spaghetti noodles! their classic rice and chicken soup "the soup" is amazing. I was get it when I'm sick! not five stars because I have heard complaints about management from their employees! Happy severs = happy guests

Yelp
Great for a casual dining experience. Food always tastes fresh, portions are large and well made. Their bread is fantastic and lasagna is the way to go.

Katie N.

Yelp
It's really sad to see what used to be my favorite restaurant go downhill. It seems the food is not fresh, ingredients have changed and service is subpar. I have ordered takeout multiple times from here expecting it to be delicious as I was once used to and sadly get disappointed every time. The bread is burnt, not fresh. Just ordered a pan of rolls and they were all crusty brown and over baked, even the microwave at home didn't help and the flavor is definitely not the same as it used to be. The soup has no flavor anymore, the chicken inside it tastes rotten and there's no buttery taste as it once had. Even the amazing soft baked potatoes they once had are cold and hard, I probably won't bet returning here and it's a shame cause this place used to be really good. And it's a shame to see management fails to fix it/make changes or create a positive environment for the employees based on other reviews. Times have changed.

Yelp
One of the best treasures of Murfreesboro. Always been excellent service and delightful food. Love bringing family and work friends here for any meal.

Yelp
Very disappointed- came in from Houston and did not eat all day Chicken soup was lukewarm and not very good. Lasagna also not hot and just ok Grilled chicken breast was full of tendons - only had 3 bites and the sauce was watery Bread was good and veggies were fine I would not recommend and will not be back Service was outstanding Ambiance was fine - a little dark but ok

Yelp
Heard great things about this place so had to check it out.... Food was good but small portions for the price.... Skip the WORLDS SMALLEST SALAD....what a joke....a little lettuce on a tiny plate...cmon Demos.... Salmon was good and pasta as well, but who can't make pasta.... The so called famous spinach appetizer was a tiny amount of spinach in a bowl.... Not sure how it's famous Neat place but won't be back.... Would not recommend to anyone....

Yelp
The food as always is delicious and served hot but the owners seriously need to open another location in this town, wait time at 8pm on a Wednesday night unreal!! Plus this place is packed @ 8:30pm. There have been many time that I have gone to another restaurant due to the wait. Today's meal was excellent and our server was fast and courteous. I did notice one thing that I feel might eventually hurt this business, something that wasn't here the last time I ate here. They have chosen to advertise their religious beliefs in several places in the restaurant. One was two boards in the waiting area and the other was the blaring Christian music on the restaurant speakers. While I am all for freedom speech and religion but a place of business is not a place to push your political or religious beliefs because you run the chance of alienating some of your clientele. In the case of politics you could potentially drive off half of your customers. Religion is a very decisive thing in this country, why do you think we have hundreds of different Baptist churches. That being said this is still one of my favorite places to dine and the food and service is always good.

Yelp
You can get more hours and money at Waffle House. I worked at Demo's for a year and a half, and have worked at Waffle House for only a month and have already made more in 2 weeks than I did in a month there. There's something to be said about corporate owned businesses as opposed to family owned. There is no tip share at Waffle house, unlike Demo's, and people tip way better at WH too. When I worked at Demo's I had to train people that got hired on getting paid more than I was even though I had worked there longer. The only reward for training is a single free meal. At WH there is a 3 day training course and multiple free meals per shift. Do yourself a favor and don't even bother, you'll only end up angry.
