"There are two main food groups at this casual eatery: hot dogs and burgers. While the latter are reliably standard, all of the former are (partially) made with reindeer meat and are sourced from the locally popular Indian Valley Meats just south of Anchorage." - Bailey Berg

SerpAPI
Super yummy and cute little place. Lots of fun pictures. Their syrup in their sodas are super strong, definitely just take water or their tea. Chili dog was amazing, made with 1/4 reindeer dog. Husband got the Sriracha burger, it was really good. Preferred the burger over the dog too.

SerpAPI
Had a reindeer chili dog and it was delicious. The fries were tasty, too. Very friendly service. A little pricey for what you get but very good.

SerpAPI
Awesome, fast service! Good quality food! They were so nice & gave all 3 of my kids a stuffed animal! Definitely recommend🤍

SerpAPI
Move over Prosciutto's, best hot dogs in the U.S. are here in Denali if you ask me. Get the Sled Dog and find out how cream cheese goes on a hot dog. Bone Crusher burger is worth every cent as well. Hi Bob. 😁

SerpAPI
Perfect spot for a quick lunch. Their hot dogs are delicious! I loved the Sled Dog hot dog. Will be back again on future visits to Denali National Park.

Doug

SerpAPI
Pretty darn good reindeer hotdogs, would have been a 5 star review but a single dog is $12!

Robert Smith

SerpAPI
Neat little hotdog shop with friendly service. The hotdog was a reindeer dog - pretty good.

Fun and friendly stop when passing through to Denali and beyond. Kids loved the corn dog, chil dogs were delicious and the homemade black bean burger was fantastic! The chili as a stand alone dish was a little heavy for my oldest but that’s only because it was how chili should be - greasy and tasty! Fries were also impressive and two orders fed a family of five (but they would have eaten more). Super friendly team and will definitely return when passing through again!

Yelp
Summary: The food is great but the price is so high which is typical in Alaska. Very cramped seating. Wish they had reindeer hotdogs. Service: Friendly cashier, average wait time for food Food: The blend of bison, meat, and pig for the hot dogs gives a nice hot dog better than anything stateside. It was disappointing they did not have any reindeer hot dogs for this season Ambiance: Small cramped high top seats on the side of the restaurant. A few small tables for outside seating Tips (what I wish I knew before): A good fast food choice when you arrive to your lodge that is fast.

Yelp
Not fine dining but a fine place to dine. Don't let the rough exterior dissuade you from checking out some fine hotdogs, chicken tenders and hamburgers. The menu consists of hot dogs served a number of ways (including a great corn dog), chicken tenders and several variations on the hamburger. An order of tots or fries will get you enough to feed two. The chili, sans beans, was very good (although the cup could have been filled a little more for $6). The chicken tenders were good. My dining partner enjoyed the Doghouse burger ($15). The fries and tots were very good. The ordering process was quick and easy. Finding a seat is a bit harder. There isn't much seating inside; however, they did offer several outside tables. If you want a solid lunch, check out the doghouse.

Yelp
If you are craving a tasty and juicy burger, come this place. I just left the national park and I was hungry. I was driving and I saw this place and I said "oh look, let me get a hot dog" but when I walked in, they also offered burgers . I ordered the Healy Burger and a side of fries. Fries do not come with the burger. The service was fast and accurate. The staff was helpful and cordial. The store has pictures of many actors and actresses with dogs which is pretty cool to see and they have indoor and outdoor seating.

Jeannie M.

Yelp
This place is small but does have about 15 bar stools on the inside and about 5 tables outside on their porch. There were 6 of us so we sat outside and battles the mosquitoes and spiders. However, the food was served quickly and was all hot and the order was complete at the same time. No small feat given that we had 3 hot dogs, 3 burgers and an order of chicken tenders. However the food was mediocre at best. Burgers were overcooked and under seasoned. Hot dogs were lackluster. The best part in my opinion was the fires. Hot and crispy. Pretty inexpensive choice for such a tourist destination. Good choice for someone not too picky or maybe a family with lots of kids.

Yelp
Happy to report they opened ahead of schedule. We needed a quick bite after the natural history bus tour, but didn't want to spoil our dinner. We shared a classic cheeseburger and coke which totally hit the spot. Veggies were fresh and the gal at the front counter was friendly. I'm totally up for a revisit to try their hotdog

Kielynn H.

Yelp
Fast and delicious! We stopped by late after an evening hike in the park. We both got burgers, I ordered the sriracha burger it was cooked to order and delicious! Tourist and wallet friendly!

Sarah A.

Yelp
Delicious reindeer hot dogs and well-seasoned fries. What more could one ask for a quick bite after a strenuous hike in Denali? Highly recommend!

Kelly B.

Yelp
Great little place for burgers, hot dogs, etc. We both had the doghouse burger, with bacon, bbq sauce, onions. Fries too. Yummy place in Denali State Park, AK. Quaint and delicious! Great staff!!

Ricky B.

Yelp
Fun little place to grab lunch. The dawgs are definitely a notch above what you get most places. The dogs are made out of reindeer meat. The buns are hoagie style. One will do it unless you are starving. Recommend the house made chips. We were greeted by a friendly face as soon as we walked in. Might be a little wait on busy tour day. For my southern friends you can get brewed sweet tea. Cool little sitting area with bar seating and some outdoor seating.

Doug N.

Yelp
This place was absolutely delicious. My wife and I stopped here quickly before we got back on the road and we were both blown away by how good the food was. If you're visiting Denali this place is a must.

Jerry H.

Yelp
I had a Chili dog and fries for lunch. The chili on the reindeer dog was mediocre. The dog was fine otherwise. The fries were undercooked.

Nicole W.

Yelp
I'm really glad I decided to eat here while staying in Denali. There was information on a poster explaining the food which made it easy to tell what was gluten free. They don't have gluten free buns but they do have lettuce wraps -- even for the hot dogs (if that's your thing). The cashier was friendly and assured me that I'd have the utensils to eat my hot dog without the bun. I also got the gluten free chili. Both the hot dog and chili were really good. When I ordered a hot dog with fried onions, one of the cooks in the back immediately pointed out the onions contained gluten so I was able to change my order. My food arrived quickly at a window on the other side of the kitchen. There is indoor and outdoor seating. Most of the indoor seating was stools and the one I sat on was a little wobbly. I wish they had more indoor tables since the outdoor tables were taken. The walls were decorated with vintage posters. Really glad I stopped here during my Alaska trip.

Yelp
43 dollars for a hotdog, burger, fries and coleslaw? I think not! And they were small portions - a takeaway carton of fries that would be medium from McDonalds. Nothing special, the food was ok, but definitely not worth this cost. And we aren't tourists from the lower 48, we're used to high restaurant prices here. But to be charged high restaurant prices, for what amounts to a small fast food order, is an outrage, and I do not recommend this place at all. I'd have gone to The Bake, but they're closed for the season, which we were told was due to the roof falling in. Shame as I really love The Bake. I came here cos I'd driven from Anchorage, and was starved. I wish I'd gone to Subway

Arlene S.

Yelp
The hot dogs were a bit overpriced but food options in Denali National Park is a bit limited. This place is convenient if you want something fast. Personally, I think their reindeer hotdog was a bit too gamy to me. The toppings help mask the taste a bit but overall I'm not a huge fan.

Tony R.

Yelp
Just off the Parks Hwy in Denali's glitter gulch is this energetic little hot dog and burger shop. The staff was friendly and welcoming with wonderful positive vibes singing to the happy music in the kitchen. Celebrity photos with their dogs plaster the walls. The variety of toppings for both dogs and burgers was extensive with the consciousness of people's allergies. This is a must visit for a quick bite.

Don L.

Yelp
It's quick, short menu and the line moves fast. Great if you are in need of a fast sandwich or fries but they come with a price. $46.00 for (2) burgers and (2) fries with (2) bottled waters. Gourmet farm to restaurant beef but seriously the portions don't fit the price. Weigh in the other options in the area, how long you don't have to wait for your (basic) take out food, (There are 3 tables on the front porch) and I can somewhat justify the price. Overall the burger has a good flavor buns are large so protein to carb (bun) ratio is way off. Fries are good, not sure if they are home made if I were to bet they are frozen bag fries BUT that doesn't mean they are not good. Probably the best value, hot, cooked consistent, crispy exterior, moist interior and lightly seasoned.

Yelp
We thought this place was closed when we walked from McKinley Chalet. They were closed when we came here in 2019. This is a surprise find! I had the best corn dog I have ever had here. The dogs are a large reindeer hot dog. They have a really fun staff too. They had southern sweet tea and I'm sure it was the best in Alaska. The place is small with a fun atmosphere. You cannot help but make some friends. We recommended this place to several couples here in the lodge. Great hamburgers and hot dogs. They are open and today is May 27, 2022. Go have a uniquely Alaskan hot dog.

Daryl M.

Yelp
The kraut dog was amazing! The Fries were hot and crispy! The staff is even better! Love how they all try to guess the song on the radio. The price for a meal ( meal deal) is right on target for AK. Will definitely tell all of my friends to go there when they visit

Doug M.

Yelp
Coming back from an ATV tour in Denali we had to decide quickly on dinner as choices are slim and we had no real option at the village we were staying at. I saw that this place offered online ordering so I talked out shuttle driver into a quick stop on the way back and allow me to run in and grab my order. Unfortunately their online system was working that well as they found my order but hadn't started it yet. Luckily they got it together fast. Sorry we didn't order any hot dogs but did get a nice burger and chicken tenders!

Ryan S.

Yelp
Good stop for a fairly quick meal. Good hot dogs, hamburgers, and chili. We got a combo of the hot dogs and chili. Reasonable prices. Seating might be difficult if they are busy.

Lea C.

Yelp
I'm being nice with my stars because in any other town, I'd give 1-2 stars at most. The options in Denali are slim and none are delicious that we tried. My husband and I got a Doghouse burger. The bbq sauce was so minimal that it was difficult to taste. We asked for extra and they were kind enough to oblige. The onion strings were also few and tasteless. I couldn't tell you that the meat was beef- it may have been but it didn't taste like beef that I'm used to eating. You can sit and eat quickly at a little bar area but unless the customer was kind enough to clean up after themselves, it doesn't look like it is cleaned more than once a day. There were no fries included with the burger-- that must have been changed in recent menu changes so watch for that when you order. The meal was overpriced for the quality but that is how the entire town is, so it was not our least favorite meal while we were there. .

Ely B.

Yelp
The service is fast. There are many type of Hotdogs. We had Denali Dog and asked dog, both taste good, too good to take pictures.

Jonathon R.

Yelp
Don't waste your money. Food was over priced, no taste and mediocre at best. Service was poor as well. You are better off going to one of the restaurants in the hotels. The food is much better and not that much more expensive, and views and atmosphere.

Tiffany D.

Yelp
Fresh tasting and filling comfort food! So many great options...I opted for the chili cheese dog. Friendly staff and fast service!

Don S.

Yelp
Burger was just okay. Read a review that the corn dog was good, but it was just okay. The chili Cheese dog was pretty good. A little pricey, but it is in Denali. Limited seating.

Shirls S.

Yelp
$12 - $15 for a mediocre hotdog plus fries?! What is this madness??? This was the cheapest food option outside of Denali. Although the fries were good, everything else was just alright. First of all, they over-mustard all the hot dogs/corn dogs. I know it makes it look prettier, but it doesn't make it taste better. Recommendation: get something without mustard. You'll thank me later

Kate R.

Yelp
Food was good, prices were not! Prices were absolutely insane for a 1/4lb burger. I recommend driving a few more miles up the road to 49th state where you can pay less for a giant 1/2lb burger and fries.

Michael S.

Yelp
Hot dogs, hamburgers, and everything else ... That's the menu at Denali Doghouse in the small "town" just outside Denali National Park. You're on vacation in the 49th state and few things unite us in the United States anymore except that Hot Dogs and Hamburgers are about as American food as you can get. Well, hot dog ... A Doghouse Dog ($11) with Bacon, BBQ Sauce, Onion Strings, and Cheddar Cheese plus an order of Fries was All-American. A very American twist on a classic was a Buffalo Bratwurst ($10) with Sauerkraut, Diced Onions, and sharp German-style Mustard on a real buffalo meat brat. Denali Doghouse isn't the cheapest hot dog or hamburger you'll have, but they are totally a-ok classic hot dogs & hamburgers. The tourist prices make sense in this classic beautiful American tourist setting.

Michelle S.

Yelp
This is a great small locally owned restaurant. All food is made to order and delicious! Love supporting local businesses while on vacation.

James M.

Yelp
The overpriced burger i had was not good. The sriracha burger. I love all burgers and I'm not picky, but i pretty much scarfed it down only because i was so hungry. It had a strange vinegary taste and the patty was so thin. I'm giving it 2 stars rather than 1 because the fries were quite tasty.

Malini A.

Yelp
We decided to have breakfast here during one of the days we were staying in Denali. It's a small eating joint in the area and the food was relatively good.. They had a decent menu and since we wanted vegetarian, customized our dishes too. Service was very friendly, and prompt. One orders at the counter and they have bar seating in an adjacent room. They will call the name when the food is ready. We had their breakfast burrito which had egg, cheese and salsa - they did not add bacon after we requested them. Also tried their breakfast sandwich which was egg and cheese on a sourdough bun. Both were warm, soft and very fresh. Coffee was great too. A bit overpriced for being a casual place, but no complaints from the food point of view. Thy also had a hot dog and burger menu for later in the day. Satisfactory breakfast and good change from the usual lodge breakfast options.

Morgan L.

Yelp
Always my choice spot to eat when I'm in the canyon. Great food and great service. Berty and Gillian are great, but so us everyone else that works there.

Lard Belly E.

Yelp
I thought it was okay. I went here to wallow in self pity after paying for gas at the Park Mart at $4.60/galLon where I had just paid $3.82/gallon in Anchorage that morning. My dog was the kraut with stone ground mustard at $5.49, which I thought was reasonable for getting food in Denali. My friend got the cheeseburger and it came with the basics and served its purpose. I may stop again if I'm going through the area. Something to think about. I drove through Healy, 10 miles north, and saw gas there for $4.10/gallon. If you're just going to Denali it might benefit you to drive the 10 extra miles if you need to fill up.

John M.

Yelp
Ahhhh.... after a great outing inside the park, we needed a little "picker-up" before hitting the Parks back to Fairbanks. Not wanting any commercial stuff, we found The Doghouse just North of the Park entrance. I ordered the Reindeer Sausgage. Prepared split and grilled, it was very, very flavorful. There is a condiment bar with relish, onions, mustard and ketchup to create your distinct flavor. They offer other "dog" styles and have burgers on the menu as well. The indoor seating was all small and all bar seat type, while the outside had a table facinig West towards your typical awesome Alaska scenery. The employees there were super friendly making the stop even better. This was worth the stop!

Cathy K.

Yelp
The people who work here were very friendly. I ordered the coney dog, which is basically a chili cheese dog. I personally did not care for it, however I did like the french fries. My husband ordered the same thing and he liked it. In hindsight, we should have ordered one and shared it.

Todd K.

Yelp
This little restaurant is in a strip of other stores and restaurants across the street from the Denali Princess Wilderness Lodge. They have hot dogs, hamburgers, sausages and cups of soup/chili. We tried the buffalo bratwurst ($5.99) and reindeer sausage ($5.79). [I think Santa must have had to make some tough choices due to the slow economy because quite a few restaurants had reindeer on their menus ;) ] Both sausages were pretty good. They had the usual condiments for hot dogs available (ketchup, mustard, onions, relish, jalepenos and sour kraut). Their friendly staff was quick and efficient. The restaurant was very small with about 10 stools for the counters along two walls of their tiny dining room. They also had one small patio table outside in front.

Matthew M.

Yelp
Good dogs, friendly staff - worth a visit! You're going to pay $15+ per person for lunch anywhere in Denali, and this is no different. We tried the 12th Man Seattle Dog even though the name made me die a little inside (Go Broncos!) and it was delicious.

Greg K.

Yelp
Our first stop after hiking Denali National Park all day, looking for a bite to eat. Didn't make it past the outside menu board. At $7.99 for 1 hot dog, chips, and soda and $7.49 for hamburgers, you'd think we were at a movie theater, stadium, or getting pretty awesome-sized hot dog or hamburger meals. Yes, food prices are expensive in Alaska (trust me, we ate at a lot of places!) but we weren't about to pay that much for "hot dog fast food" when there were so many other food options in the very same parking lot.

Maya S.

Yelp
Hot dogs, burgers and fries all great. Chili dogs were awesome. Can't say enough good things.

Elaine P.

Yelp
We asked for an affordable place to eat that was not fussy. Delicious French fries and jalapeno bbq burger for me, hotdog for the rest of my group. Quick, friendly, under $16. Great service. You get five stars from me if you are what you intend to be, not if you have good linens and silverware. Thais place is as advertised, a dog house. .

Gabby S.

Yelp
I went here with my mom a few weeks ago, I ordered a burger, she got the chili dog. A little pricey ($35 for the burger and chili dog) for average food in my opinion, I realize the prices in this area are tourist prices, but I wasn't too impressed. She liked the chili dog and we both enjoyed the fries but the burger was average and tiny, and also kind of bland; tasted like a frozen not fresh patty to me though they say they use local meat. As much as I'd like to give them another chance, I probably won't go back, especially given the price. The staff was super awesome, but the food is lacking.

Kelly H.

Yelp
Stopped by this place as it was right across from our hotel and we didn't want something big to eat. We almost walked away after looking at the prices but so glad we didn't! Hot dogs and burgers started at $10 and they aren't what most consider to be a *real* hot dog as they are made out of reindeer. All meals came with fries which were PERFECTLY seasoned. Everyone in my group raved about their hot dogs and I was very impressed with the fries. I didn't go as far as five stars because the chicken tenders were disappointing and I hated the seating area. Every seat was some sort of a stool and counter top so it was uncomfortable. Also of note, they charge extra to get your food to go which I thought was weird but that might just be an Alaska thing. The staff was incredibly friendly too! I would certainly go back.

Christopher G.

Yelp
Fantastic dogs with reindeer in them. Seattle dog is awesome. Yum! Friendly staff too.

Kris S.

Yelp
The Tolley Dog I ordered hit the spot. The chili dog with cheddar cheese and fries was a great, quick meal while taking a break from Denali. A-OK meal. Extremely friendly staff, cute little cabin. Give it a try!

Prerak P.

Yelp
Fresh hot veggie burger and fries after a long day of denali bus tour. Nice place, fast service and outside seating available. Glad we stumbled upon this place.

Juliana B.

Yelp
Decent hotdog place for the area. Bought 3 hotdogs with fries and 1 small drink for $38. Good but not great dogs but one of the cheaper places to eat. Would recommend if not starving and on a budget.

Steve G.

Yelp
In the mood for burgers after a day in Denali. Denali Doghouse is one of the few restaurants near Denali in the Glitter Gluch area. Burgers are $10, add $5 for fries and a drink. Not bad prices except the burger is tiny and underwhelming. It's the size of a regular McD's burger but comes with good toppings. Mine had fresh lettuce, tomato and cheddar cheese. Son's had bacon and fried onions. Overall the burgers were just OK, just enough to satisfy a burger craving with not much else around.

Lindsey S.

Yelp
This hole in the wall hotdog joint is 10/10 we'd recommend. It's quick, delicious, and the employees are so kind. If you're looking for a quick but good bite to eat we highly recommend

Gene M.

Yelp
First off, it was the friendliest crew working there! I had the siracha burger and it was quite good, as we're the fries that came with it. We ate on the front porch since it was such a nice day. I thought it was priced okay for a very touristy area. I'd go back.
