Getting R.
Yelp
WOW. Talk about complete lack of customer service!! This used to be among my favorite pizza places because of their thin and crispy crust and unique distribution of sauce. But sadly, the last few times the quality has appreciably decreased. So it was highly inconsistent. One day we would get phenomenal pizza. The next visit mediocre to poor. But today we got largely inedible!
We received two completely dried out sesame crust cheese pizzas which my husband picked up promptly and on time and we live about 20 to 25 minutes away so he brought it home and we tried to eat it immediately. The problem is not only was the pizza itself VERY dry, but parts of the crust were burned beyond recognition. As in completely black, and I will try to attach a photo of a sample piece of the crust. Now the entire crust wasn't black, but certainly enough of the perimeter was that it affected the taste of eating it. And so I reached out to the restaurant in two ways.
First I sent an Instagram message & photos using a friend's account as I don't have my own IG. Then I called directly and spoke with a girl at 5:45 PM on Friday, March 3rd. I explained what I received. And I explained that I sent photos, and I asked if I could please receive either a refund or credit for one of the two pies which I thought was beyond reasonable. I should actually ask for a full refund, but since we can't return the pizzas, as we're not going to travel another 50 +minutes which is what it would take there and back, I only asked for a 50% credit or refund. We are eating around the burnt areas because we are starving, and at this point it's just sustenance but not enjoyable to eat. The girl answered, and she said she's sorry to hear that we received this pizza but they are unable to offer a refund or credit. That is insane. They are UNWILLING to do so! Huge difference.
This is penny wise and pound foolish because her response prompted me to write a review I had not planned to write! And to likely do a charge back I would really prefer not to do. And now I will have to request a refund for both rather than just one pizza. Not smart business sense. Horrific customer service. There is no consistency and for what they charge which was $44.25 for just two plain pizzas w sesame crust is beyond absurd not to give the highest quality product and to stand behind their product when they fail!
Clearly, either ovens were way too hot or they left our pizzas in way too long were they were made to thin in terms of the crust and the sauce ratio was poor. Maybe some or all of those factors. We ordered at a time that it should not have been insanely busy and even if it was, no excuse. Even had it not been a burnt crust, the pie was completely over cooked in overtime. We did not ask for a well-done pie!
I still would hold out hope the restaurant will choose to do the right thing, but as of right now, it appears they refuse to do. What a shame as my husband and his family frequented this place for many many years. So much for being loyal customers.... Your mileage may vary. Maybe you'll hit them on a day when their pizza actually looks like the photo on this yelp page posted by them or others. Or maybe you'll receive a burnt one like me? If you want to spend your hard earned money to flip that coin, that's your prerogative. There's so many other pizzerias that I would suggest not taking a chance.
