"Brick is home to some of the best real estate on the barrier islands and some of the worst restaurants. But five minutes over the Mantoloking bridge, you’ll find Denino’s, which is the best thing Staten Island’s given the Shore since, well, ever. This place makes super-crispy thin-crust pizzas and even if your summer share isn’t anywhere near here, the pizza is completely worth the trip. We especially like the meatball, onion and ricotta pie." - Michael Sinatra

Google
We had such a good time and a great meal. Denino’s South is welcoming, spacious restaurant. Everyone is SO nice! Our waiter was attentive and friendly. They were welcoming of everyone, large parties and families. The place feels like home. The pizza was delicious! Cheesy and crispy and plenty of pepperoni. The antipasto salad was fresh and generous. The restaurant is accessible. Plenty of parking.

Classic Staten Island pizzeria at the Jersey Shore. White, vodka and meatball pizza were great. Very friendly service.

Google
One of the best thin crust pizzas that I have had in a lifetime. Being from philly, we know pizza and I can tell you that Denino's south does it right.

This is such a clown show of an operation. I ordered a large pie for pickup that was supposed to be half cheese, half sausage, mushroom, and garlic. When my mom and I got back home and opened the box it was all cheese. I called them and informed Olivia of the mishap and she apologized and said we can keep the pie we didn’t order as if she was doing us a solid. She said she would have another pie made according to our order and said it would be ready in 15 minutes. We went back and asked if they can do anything for us for our troubles and she said we got a pie we didn’t want for free. I waited a half hour for them to make the pie properly but they couldn’t do it. I opened the box to find only three slices were sausage and mushroom and the rest were cheese slices. I asked to speak to a manager and Olivia and the other girl working there said there was no manager. These high school-aged girls were so incredibly rude. When I pointed to the pie and showed them it was not half cheese and half sausage and mushroom Olivia pointed to a cheese slice with one piece of mushroom on it and said “See, it’s half and half”. The other girl then said, “What do you want us to do? Make another pie for you?!” In the most snotty tone. I will never go back to this place. How can they operate without an adult manager on the premise?! The pizza wasn’t that good anyway. Total clown show of an operation.

I grew up on Staten Island with Denino's pizza it was the best 45 years with Joe & Pats.. I can to the Jersey shore for business and someone said Denino's pizza is here and almost fell off my chair. We came for dinner, and it was just as good as 45 years ago.. Don't think twice just go!!!

Google
My review on Denino's South Pizzeria, is as simple as it gets, "My First and My Last Review", just in plain English extremely huge disappointment! My wife and I are from the Northern part of Jersey. We were looking forward to eating dinner from Denino's. We ordered some pasta dishes with an appetizer which was a hard crash and burn. So, this is my hello and farewell to Denino's... Arrivederci!!!

Google
All of their pizzas are great, but you have to try the clam pie. As a former Staten Islander,I think Deninos is the best I have ever had. Just ask Jon Stewart.

We ordered two pies, a salad and a side of fries that Uber eats was supposed to deliver to the park we were at. However, the delivery man never came to pick it up so we called and we decided to pick up ourselves. It was pretty far from where we were about 25 minutes so we figured instead of just picking it up to go back home since we had three really young kids with us who were really hungry,we would just to eat it there. When we got there, the place was empty aside from one table so when we asked to sit to eat instead of taking it out we were surprised the man told us that we couldn’t because it’s waitress service only. I think I could understand if it was a really busy night and the place was packed. I think as a small business since you make the rules you can make the exceptions to the rules. Just as courtesy and good customer service for the food that we already paid for it would’ve been helpful if he just let us sit for 15 or 20 minutes to eat our food, especially considering that we had young children with us. We had to eat the pizza in the parking lot because by the time we got home the pizza would’ve been cold and the kids would’ve been absolutely starving. A pizzeria restaurant in town should always be a family place and the experience was completely the opposite. Won’t be coming back.

Yelp
This place will give you paper plates but could pass as an amazing Italian American restaurant. I love the fact they know who they are and stick with their roots. Every appetizer we had was amazing. The pizza is elevated and worthy of awards!

Beth S.

Yelp
Total pizza snob. I have heard great things, but I live on a barrier island. I love my pizza guy and his family. I don't want to give my money elsewhere . Yeah! My dearest friend wanted to take me here, and bring my husband as a second opinion. Props to the staff and the awesome folks that made this delicious pizza!

James B.

Yelp
Pizza is delicious Don't order the Rice Ball Parmigiana. It is tiny and 11.45. Used to be twice the size

Joseph C.

Yelp
Heard so much about Denino's and finally made the trip. It was a VERY good, solid pie! The sauce is perfect, not too much cheese and the dough was fabulous. Cooked very similar to how Anthony Coal-Fire cooks theirs. Do yourself a favor and eat it indoors. You'll be in heaven for the duration taking this one in.

Barbara S.

Yelp
Food was served cold even though we were seated right be the kitchen. Sauce was the worst that I ever had. U I t was watered down and pasta was floating on top of water. Pasta was tasteless as was the sauce. Left almost the entire meal. Seems as though the only food the are good at is pizza.

Alyssa D.

Yelp
Fun fact: The other Denino's is in Staten Island. This location (south) always has a line or full parking lot but the pizza is worth the wait. I finally stopped before they closed for the evening, they were flexible and able accommodate us (thanks again!) Overall, Pizza was very good! A gem in the middle of a sleepy beach town! Try the staple margarita pie you can't go wrong!

Steve R.

Yelp
Since moving to South Jersey, it's been a journey looking for good pizza spots. Well, we might have found one in Denino's South and pretty close to home too. The pizza has a thin, firm, crispy crust and the plain cheese pie was delicious. I'm a big Dave Portnoy guy and follow his pizza reviews religiously. I'm pretty sure he'd like this pie and put it up in the 7.9 range. Have to say I was a bit disappointed our waitress didn't know who Portnoy was since he's been to their other two locations in Staten Island and Greenwich Village and gave them an 8.1 and a 9.1 respectively. Anyway, we also tried their Fried Calamari which was lightly battered, tender and delicious and their Riceballs also very good, no meat inside but stuffed with rice and cheese. Although they've been few and far between down here, it appears we've found another go to pizza spot.

Angela B.

Yelp
Excellent people and customer service but... am I the only one that thinks the pizza is too soft/floppy? I wanted thin, crunchy, crispy crust and it was very chewy. Not much very flavor to it. I guess I just don't get the hype, it's okay, just not for me.

Brynn H.

Yelp
Most amazing pizza of my life. Vodka pizza was fabulous. The service was so good. I can't say enough good things about this place! I will 100% come back! Best pizza place in Brick, NJ

Idania D.

Yelp
Denino's pizza is always delicious, especially when eaten fresh at their table. This location is casual and family friendly. We also had the eggplant tower which was tasty. Good for your Friday night pizza or casual dinner fare.

Gail S.

Yelp
Pizza was good. Chicken parm was terrible. It's an OK place, but I'll drive to Pete n eLda's next time .

Frank A.

Yelp
The whole. Was aces I thought it was a dress up restaurant but it's a great food $ pizza place!

Tressa M.

Yelp
Service was great, food was amazing, and the little Italian small business vibe was great. Big servings and full belly's! No vegan options...

Barry S.

Yelp
Pretty good pizza. Had the clam pie. It was good. Had a sub and it was average. Good service.

Marissa C.

Yelp
Best pizza piace EVER , loved it Got the plain pizza for the little ones and they loved it recommend this place for any family in pinch for a pizza place

Tina R.

Yelp
Pizza was delicious, just as it should be with a nice fold with a crunch! Arugula salad was yummy went well with the pizza!

Tracey D.

Yelp
Good meatballs served with a side of pasta. It could definitely use more mozzarella cheese and the bread was average but the entrees were yummy. My friend had a house salad and mussels (medium) and thought the spice was just right. I can't wait to go back and try the thin crust pizza which comes highly recommended.

Nick F.

Yelp
Worst cheesesteak I have ever had in my life. Thick slices of hard meat and the bread isn't fresh. It's almost like they have never tasted a cheesesteak and don't know what they are doing at all.

Paul I.

Yelp
Very tasty, thin crust , perfectly cooked pie . Appetizers were great also as was the service. The Port Richmond Ave , Staten Island location was always tops with my family , this Jersey location matches it perfectly.

Kathryn H.

Yelp
The last several pies were horrible. I'm so disappointed. They are always super pleasant to deal with, but the pie quality has really gone down hill.

Phil G.

Yelp
Our Margherita pizza was very good, with a crisp crust and savory tomato sauce. We drove out of our way for Denino's, and in retrospect, that may have been foolish. The pizza was very good, but not necessarily memorable. Inland from the ocean, Denino's is not located in the most salubrious area. In fact, the neighborhood looked more like Mississippi than the Jersey Shore. Service also was more Mississippi than Jersey. Our server was stuck at the register as we waited and waited and waited to be escorted to a table. Finally, the young woman at the take out counter yelled out to get her attention. The one server would disappear for long periods of time, and to get the check, we had to ask the young woman at the take out window to look for our server. Then, she forgot our sodas on the check. When we pointed this out, she said "oh," took the check back to the register and added the cost of the two sodas. Sadly, she was clueless, and I was reminded of Mississippi again. As we left the manager was chewing on something as WE said goodbye and thank you - MississippI. Denino's interior space was not reflective of the okay exterior. It was dark, sad, and designed to hide dirt with much use of the uplifting color of brown. Yet, the pizza was good. If you're in MississippI, oh I mean Brick/Lakewood, grab a slice.

Yelp
Great coal fired pizza. Service was excellent. And the place was clean. Will definitely go back. Want to try there hero's

Christine M.

Yelp
Great service great food. Lotsa cheese on the pizzas. Gets really crowded late in the week.

R B.

Yelp
First time at Denino's South today and it was amazing. If you love thin crust pizza this is the place. It was delicious! My favorite pizza place now. I cannot wait to try more menu items! The staff was super nice and the atmosphere open and clean. Great experience!

Michael M.

Yelp
Orders a chicken sub. Would you eat this ? Looks unappetizing, taste unappetizing, dry, inedible. Look at photos. How does this go out ?

pam s.

Yelp
We picked up pizza to go. Ordered a head of time by phone. Parking is tough because they are extremely busy, with good reason. There was a parking lot across the street which seems ok to use also, it had a empty building there. We never went inside deninos so I can't say what it is like in the restaurant . The pizza was ready when they said it would be. We got half plain, half pepperoni and sausage. Ate it at home. Loved the ratio of cheese/gravy/crust/toppings. The crust was delicious. A bit crispy on bottom and dough was well cooked the way we like it. We want to go again for pizza to go

Shawn B.

Yelp
The food is very good here. I have had multiple entrees and pizza and it doesn't disappoint. I find it to be a bit expensive for the quality but they are always super busy.

Humberto C.

Yelp
We have ordered Pizza from Dennino 's for about 2 months and the Pizza was fantastic. Friday night we ordered thru Uber. They had a buy one get one free Pizza for $20. Plus an Italian Sub. The Bill came to $56 ! Deninos Pizza was burnt to a Crisp and was Cold and awful . It's by far the worst Pizza that I ever had in Brick. They ripped us off with delivery fees and Service fee plus I Gave the Driver $12 Tip. I didn't realize and read the Total being sick. Never order from them.

Pablo C.

Yelp
Pizza review only. I love Staten Island Pizza, so you can imagine how excited I was to try Denino's, a Staten Island staple in NJ. We went to get a couple pies on Labor Day, '23. And what I received was two substandard pies. Top was overcooked to the point that the cheese had a "crust" on it. Bottom had so much semolina flour from the oven deck that you could flake it off with your hand. See picture, sorry the pie was sitting cause nobody ate it, but you can see how it was cooked. Nothing like the pictures of from other reviewers, so I'm guessing they put in the 4th string cooks to stay open that holiday.

Krista M.

Yelp
A fairly spacious modern looking pizza place, that serves up some delicious pies. Pizza is nice and thin sprinkled with some semolina which adds a nice crunch. The crust had a lovely chew and flavor that didn't weigh you down. We were a group of 8 and ordered 4 pies, which we finished all but about 4 slices. The white pie with mozzarella and ricotta topped with arugula, which was dressed with olive oil and some lemon juice, was my favorite. Just delicious. The cheese pie was wonderful. We also ordered a sausage, pepperoni & onion pie; this one got kind of soggy and I felt the sausage was only so so. The buffalo chicken, bacon ranch pie, had a nice level of heat and was not overpowered by the ranch; another tasty slice. I thoroughly enjoyed Denino's and would definitely visit again.

Leslie H.

Yelp
Pizza parlors everywhere in jersey finding the right one on the other hand you might be searching for a while. With all the other pizza places in the area our relatives suggested Denino's and we were extremely pleased with the selection. I had a eggplant parm sandwich and we ordered a large cheese pizza. Everything was cooked perfect. Very clean inside and out waitress was nice the guy that greeted us and brought our pizza out was very high energy and pleasant. Over all 5 star rating because we were pleased with our dine in experience. Glad we decided to go here instead of getting take out.

Alexis B.

Yelp
We just moved to the area and have been trying out different places to get a handle of our top to go places. We ordered 2 pizzas and a couple of appetizers. They told us 25-30 minutes. We arrived picked up the food and drove 5 minutes back to our house. The food was ice cold. Pizza tasted old and it was way over cooked. The only good thing was the penne vodka which was hot and fresh but a little over salted for my taste. Heard great things about this place so not sure if they were having an off night or what but with the variety of local take out joints available I'm not sure I will frequent this one again.

Sam G.

Yelp
Still the best pizza in NJ thus far and we have tried all of the highly rated ones! But I still stand by my original statement, go for plain pie or pepperoni for the nice cheese to sauce ratio and crispy, delicious crust

P B.

Yelp
We've been coming to this Pizza Palace for years when in town. Still the same great pizza we crave year after year. Their other dishes are spectacular too. This place is the real deal! Their quality is the same greatness year after year. I would put their sauce on a flip flop and be happy. Our tummies are happy - Thank you!

Alexandra R.

Yelp
So. I ate here for the first time because I had seen so many reviews for it. I thought it had to be great. I ordered a large pie (through door dash ). I had called ahead I wanted a white pie with broccoli. It wasn't a menu option so I left it on the comments and they were expecting it. I must've accidentally hit fresh onion. And that's what they sent white pie all onion half broccoli Now. I don't hate onion. But the pie was inedible. It was soooooo greasy and the crust was so difficult to rip w my teeth. It was seasoned well. But hard to chew. Also ordered a calamari that was dripping grease I threw a whole pie out. I was so disappointed. I hate wasting food.

Wendy G.

Yelp
Authentic Italian place with great pizza - the best in the area by far!! Crispy crust - not soggy. Have had the pasta dishes there too and they are also good. Totally recommend.

Tim D.

Yelp
Loved their pizza. Notice the key word there, LOVED. Called 20 minutes ago to order a Sicilian pie and was told they don't have any. Really? Make it. Are the pizza's frozen and saved? Usually when you order pizza, it gets made. I know pizzas are made in bulk due to demand but really? Telling a customer you don't have any? Makes no sense. I never heard that before. Total turn off. Wanted people to experience good pizza. Oh well, time to find another place. Thanks for the memories Deninos. Adios! A response to the owner's response: While I appreciate the quick response, maybe if the employee said that on the phone, instead of saying you didn't have any, the reaction would've been more understanding and different. There's nothing wrong with saying the dough for Sicilian isn't ready yet or this early in the afternoon instead of just saying you didn't have any. Sorry if I hurt your feelings with my review and it could have been removed easily but you want to come back with a snarky answer instead of hey sorry for the miscommunication. I wasn't looking for anything free or someone to kiss my ass but an explanation about the dough would've been fine and the review would've promptly been removed. Really sad that it escalated to this point.

Sam S.

Yelp
Order a clam pie, my usual. Not as good as other Denino's I've been to. Service was good and restaurant was clean. Wish they had a better clam pie!

Ben L.

Yelp
I found this place from a Yelp search in the area and I thought this place was great. It's a pizzeria but with nice atmosphere, friendly service and I loved the old school flavor of their pie. The prices were fair and I am eager to try other things on their menu. The food: Fried Calamari- Holy Moses do they give a lot! This is easily shareable among four people. The calamari was so light and airy and was the perfect thing to snack on. I did find the calamari itself to be a tad under seasoned but their marinara sauce was great, I really enjoyed their marinara. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=5I-xJSg9BtAcpV6pDLm0Fw&userid=Y_iTTjKvV5hLy-880SZzlA Margherita Pie- Fresh Mozzarella, basil & marinara sauce with a sprinkle of grated cheese. I thought the pie was made really well, I really loved the nice crunchy bottom and I loved the flavor of their cheese and basil. I did find this pie to be on the salty side but I still say this is a must order. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=CHaWPATEROVrbG3K9rFz4A&userid=Y_iTTjKvV5hLy-880SZzlA

Yelp
The first time we were there we had a great meal we ordered multiple pizzas they were all perfect the last time we were there we weren't so happy. Denino's in Aberdeen is superior never had a bad pizza or meal ever Wish I had the opportunity to go to Staten Island I am sure it is excellent

DeAngelo V.

Yelp
Solid Pizza! Some of the best in Brick Nj. Had a traditional pie and a meat pie, both were excellent! The crust here takes the cake vs. other places in Brick. Come here, great family run business. A+

Cathy T.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious....SAUSAGE, Onions & Peppers pizza & 1 large plain pie delivered to our friends home in Brick along with an order of mild wings!!!! Absolutely delicious !!!! We then had a cheesecake from Charlie's cheesecake in Normandy!!! Great night!!! Will definitely order from both places again!!! Thank you Denino's

Katie G.

Yelp
Quality needs improvement. I live right around the corner and have tried Deninos a few times but each time I'm kinda unimpressed. We ordered early in the evening around 4:15 and when we got the pizza home the "salute" pie was just wilted lettuce and melted parm on top. We didn't even wait long for our order it was done by 4:30 when we got there and it only took about 4-5 minutes to drive home. Some of the lettuce was brown just entirely gross and slimy. I don't know if they cook the lettuce on the pizza (I would imagine it would have to be put on afterwards like any other salad pies) but this is the first time I ordered it from deninos. Also the pictures online have prosciutto on it and it's my fault for not checking the prosciutto is NOT included. Kinda false advertising. Then the plain pie was folded over in the box so 2 of the slices were like a calzone instead. Not a huge deal but with the prices you pay here I expect better quality. I think there are better options down the street ....sorry.

Lauren C.

Yelp
Chicken Cesar salad is actually one of the best things on the menu. Very underrated. Great delivery service during COVID times too!

Yami U.

Yelp
Good friendly service. Calamari for appetizer very good fresh not greasy and perfectly cooked. Also ordered a pizza half clam and half garbage crust was the best part garbage style half also very tasty clam half was a little salty for my taste but over all a good meal. Will come back

Dave D.

Yelp
Best pizzeria on the NJ shore... and just as fine as their Staten Island restaurant. The pizza reminds us of the great days with good ingredients served hot out of the over on paper plates like when I was a kid (50 years ago) Great for family and groups, just plan on waiting a little, patience

Nella B.

Yelp
Been going to the Deninos in stAten Island for over 25 years and love it . We happened to with to be with family and decided to try this location. It did not disappoint! Appetizers were all delicious as was the pizza! Menu Is slightly bigger than the one in S.I . Very happy with it and would def recommend.

Jeff S.

Yelp
Didnt even bother calling Deninos yesterday to tell them about the order just went ahead and ordered the same hero from La Fontana today. Spot the difference in quality and packaging and following simple directions. After ordering often from all 3 local restaurants all summer here is my recommendation. For delicious kitchen dinners its Brick Oven all day long. Wraps and Heros La Fontana takes the crown. Pizza is a toss up because Deninos has good Pizza but La Fontana offers a larger selection of slices and Brick Oven Speciality pizzas are

Leslie B.

Yelp
It wasn't for me but I don't live close by so no need to go back even if it had been. Husband and I ordered house salad, baked clams and 60/40 over linguini. IMHO the best thing on the table was the bread! Warmed up, crusty, melt in your mouth delicious. Baked clams stuffing was tasteless and the breading was a bit heavy. In the 60/40 dish, the meatballs were ok but the sausage was tasteless. The biggest disappointment was the red sauce; tasted like something from a cheap jar brand. Service and prices were great.
