Denny's in Carpentersville is a reliable spot for classic diner food. The menu has a huge variety, so there's something for everyone. I've always found the food to be tasty, and the portions are generous. The service is friendly and efficient, even when it's busy. It's not a fancy place, but it's perfect for a casual meal.

This is a update I never been there on a busy day like today where I waited 30 minutes to get my order taken and a hour to get my food. Wich was luke warm when it got to my table and only to receive half my ham missing on my moon over my hammy sandwich. What made me most upset is that 3 families came in 30 minutes after I did and they got their food before me. Smh. I enjoyed my breakfast with my son. Paula was our server. She was so sweet and accommodating. Thank you so much for the Patience Paula. I appreciate you.

(Gen Z review) went in late at about 8:30 (they close at 10:00 on Thursdays. I got the loaded nachos and they were so good. Amando was our waiter and was so kind and attentive! Would definitely come again :)

I ordered a bacon cheese burger lettuce, onion, cheese, bacon. Came back with mayo, avocado , and brown lettuce. Felt bad telling them to take it back. They did it with a smile no problem. When it came back to the table it was bacon, onion, cheese, brown lettuce and AVOCADO again. When the chef came to our table to ask if the burger was okay he just walked away, Didn’t even let us finish the sentence. We understand it’s Christmas but dang how many times you gunna mess up a burger before getting it right ? Oh and mind you my friend ordered a burger that came with an egg cooked over medium and received a burger with scrambled eggs? I don’t know how you confuse that. Sucks the kitchen is messing up because that’s money taken away from the server because their mistakes ?

I had a terrible experience at this Denny’s. We waited an extremely long time for our food — so long that another customer who came in after us got her meal, finished eating, and was leaving before we had even received ours. She actually stopped to ask why we were still waiting and brought it to the manager’s attention. When our food finally came, it was cold, which was very disappointing after such a long wait. The manager only offered a 10% discount, which honestly felt like an insult considering how bad the experience was. Definitely not the kind of service or quality you’d expect from Denny’s.

We stopped in here to get something to eat, and let me say the service definitely needs improvement. It took over an hour to get our food, and when it finally came, it was cold and burnt. Our waiter never checked on us to see if everything was okay. We eventually had to ask another waiter for our tab because our server was nowhere to be found. Even then, it took another 30 minutes just to get the check. Overall, it was not a good experience.

Update: after trying to call the restaurant for an hour, finally got an answer, with an offer to remake my order. That would've been great, had you answered an hour ago. Got a pickup order. Scrambled eggs, hash browns, bacon, and pancakes. Eggs were dry, hash browns were cold and barely cooked, bacon was decent. Pancakes were amazing. How do I get cold food when the restaurant isn't busy and I show up before my order is supposed to be ready? Tried to call to complain, phone just keeps ringing.

Me and my family decided to go to Denny’s one day because it was late and we were hungry. As soon as we entered we were seated right away, and our server I think his name was hedgar was absolutely amazing he was very attentive and kept checking up on us frequently. He was the absolute sweetest and made our Denny’s experience ten times better !

Stopped there for lunch to order the sizzling chicken glaze meal. First off the service was extremely slow. When my meal finally arrived the skillet wasn't "sizzling." Second the chicken was very tough to cut. When I was able to cut it and took a bite I had to chew it like gum and could never swallow it. It was as if the chicken was undercooked or spoiled. I told them to take it back and that I didn't want anything and to let me know what I owed. Obviously the manager didn't charge me for the meal. However, he had the audacity to charge me for the beverage that I barely drank. Apparently they couldn't care less if I returned so I will be more than happy to oblige. Avoid this particular location at all costs as it was one of the worst dining experiences of my entire life!!!

The server argued with me. She was trying to get me to eat raw eggs. Then when my berry pancakes came out they were extremely dry and the strawberries on them were very old and some were moldie. The smell of the place was like a porta-potty left out in the summer heat for 2 weeks. Over all would never let anyone a know go there unless I hate them.

Every year Dennys offers a free Grand Slam for Veterans day. I haven't been to a Dennys in decades. Hasn't much changed over the years. I was seated at the counter where I ordered a Grand Slam with turkey bacon. Service was as expected. After receiving my food I was not checked on again. The over medium eggs I ordered were over easy. I was very curious as to how the pancakes compared to there competitor. The weight and texture were perfect, but I wasn't a fan of the flavor. Anyhow I do appreciate the free breakfast they offer to service members!

Good service and my French toast slam was delicious. I enjoy eating here and it's nice to include this Denny's in my restaurant rotation.

This place was horrible in service. The food was alright. But the employees say other wise. On January 5 2025 at 10:46:32 am. When we were peacefully eating our breakfast, my dad saw this lady going around with the coffee pot so my husband asked if he could have a refill. When he did, the lady came over not even wanting to be near us and spilled the coffee on our table. She did NOT apologize and walked away giving my family a dirty stare. We later complained about it to our waiter, Coraline V. She proceeds to say on how the lady said that my husband was tapping the coffee pot with his spoon, calling him impatient. The whole time we were being watched horribly by the lady who had served us coffee and i later caught her telling the table behind us about what had happened, which was none of their business . We were uncomfortable the whole time and couldn't enjoy our food all because of that old lady always giving us nasty looks. Never recommend again

First time I called I was told to call the South Elgin location because I live in Elgin. South Elgin is permanently closed. I called back and ordered a blt With onion rings. They said due to limited holiday menu they aren't serving blt or onion rings. They weren't very nice at all and I will NEVER EVER go there again!!! I'd rather frickin starve to death. Damn!!! All I wanted was a blt with onion rings. I think they closed the wrong locatio.

This place has great food and Drew is the best manager out there. I always come here with the boys

I went here and we had a good sever but he was taking care of the whole restaurant. There was tape in my drink and they had to get me a new one. Also the food was ok at best but would rather any other place. Would not recommend. The hasbrowns were also very burnt and stuck to gether.

I haven't been to this location in years but I'm glad I stopped by for lunch. I had my usual order at every brunch I go to, the country fried steak. This was actually good along with their glazed corn. Service was good and fast. I like this better than IHOP.

I had breakfast, it was wonderful! 2 eggs, bacon, hash browns, and toast. The waitress was great! I'm sorry I can't remember her name. Service was great and she checked with us to see how everything was. With my AARP card, I got a discount!

I am not a breakfast person so I always prefer Denny's to any other breakfast joints. They have so many other menu items to choose from other than pancakes. BLEGH. I hate pancakes lol Anyways this location is pretty good. Service if good.

Ordered sampler, missing queso and sour cream. Paid for 4 extra sides of ranch at over $1 a piece and only received ranch included in sampler. Waste of time and money. Do not recommend.

They did not give the banana slices for the Jr French toast twice now when I have ordered it even though it states online that is part of the meal. Also don't bother with the curbside pickup, they still make you come inside. I wish there was a closer Denys because this one is horrible, they are not friendly and they clearly don't know how to service their customers correctly. I won't be back

I ordered from their alter ego The Burger Den(same address, so definitely operated out of the Denny's Kitchen) through Uber Eats and was quoted a 25-35?min delivery window. The restaurant accepted the order but closed and never canceled my order. I waited 2 hrs before the order got canceled, by default I'm guessing. I waited up longer than I planned on, and I still went to bed hungry because they didn't have the common decency to reject the order or cancel it immediately so I could order from somewhere else. Big waste of time. Oh by the way, they also wasted the time of 2 drivers that were consecutively assigned to pick up my order

We had a great experience this afternoon at this Denny's location. Our server Courtney was so great and her cheerful demeanor was so welcoming. The food came out super fast and well cooked and everyone at our table was happy. Back to Courtney, throughout our hole time there when she would come back and check on us she would interact with the kids, asked them about school and was just so friendly. Hopefully by this post, management will know how great a dining experience can be when you have a great server like Courtney. Then you have the food coming out great all makes for a great experience! Well done!

This was the worst experience ever! It was a busy day, so I didn't mind waiting. After 20 minutes, we were finally seated then told it would take 45 minutes for the food to come out. Our drink orders weren't taken until 15 minutes after being seated. Our food orders weren't taken until 10 minutes after the drinks arrived. We should've been told that before, when we asked how long the wait was before being seated. There were also several empty tables, the manager walked around hugging her friends and whatnot instead of doing her actual job. The server was nice but completely overwhelmed as she was serving and working the hostess stand. I'll never come here again!!! UPDATE: Our food was cold, we complained and the manager brought out fresh food and gave us a discount.

Everything is really very fresh. Extremely friendly stuff. I'm here now, having my special order. I ordered few things I was craving for and I'm very happy sipping now hot tea with lemon and honey. Perfect for cold evening.

Short wait. Nicely greeted but as our coffees were served. Our waitress burned herself as coffee cups were spilled. ( not her fault). I think she was bumped. Ordered these chocolate blue berry muffin thing. 6 munkins hot from the "oven" with a the best sweet dripping sauce $1.99. Waiting on our offer.

Had a great breakfast there this morning. The food was hot and delicious. Our server, Coco, was incredible. Fast, accurate and her personality was so fun and friendly.

So very understaffed this night but Deanna did a great job waitressing by herself with lots of customers ! We did wait a while but we are very understanding! Give this girl a raise!

I'd give Denny's a higher rating than 5 stars because I've gone to them often and I always loved the food but the service at the branch on Springhill Dr. in Carpentersville Illinois is great. Last night our waiter who's name escapes me here in Carpentersville was very good ad was very kind and courteous. He was very kind to one of my younger sisters who was having a hard time last night because of some spice that was in the mashed potatoes she got and started choking on but after some water she was fine. He took it and offered to get her something else instead and apologized for it although it wasn't his fault. We enjoyed talking to him and laughed because he had a great sense of humor. Your restaurants are all top notch . Their the best and I like that they're open all night too The Aurora Illinois Denny's or maybe it's in North Aurora Illinois but that branch of Denny's Restaurant is always good too. Keep up the good work. You never skimp on the quantity of the food or the quality of the food or the great servkce. It took forever to get our food! Very slow service...won't come here again. Pricing: Low - Fair Food: The food was not very hot. The grit were runny...and the plates that the food was served on were dirty. Atmosphere: nice...hence the one star...otherwise it would have gotten none. Wait staff: Personal appearance is ok...some staff looked like they could use a shower. I asked for coffee from the bus boy and had to ask for the extras multiple times. bathrooms: the bathrooms were ok, but looked like it could have used some attention. Stay clear of this place and go to Panda Express or find another breakfast joint. Reviewed by Cindy and family.

Me and my friends were at Denny's last night. There were about 4 other tables and just one server. We all decided to get unlimited chocolate chip pancakes. It's an easy order. Order server didn't seem to happy about our order. He was slow and didn't come often but it got bad when after our second order of pancakes he dropped the receipt off and didn't come back. We waited about 10 minutes for him to come back because we wanted more but he never came back. Unbelievable. The late night service is terrible and i know it's late but it's his job to at the least come and be polite. I won't be going back again at night, nor recommend it. P.s. we never got straws for our milkshakes.

Dennys is our go to place for a delicious breakfast menu. This Denny's has very good service and food! Great for the weekend's or weekdays.

I had written to the corporation because of what I would consider to be continued issues with service and waitstaff at this and the Elgin location. I eat at this particular Denny's probably once a month and had many issues. I was contacted by Miguel and that was a surprise because he was very nice, not defensive AND actually discussed the issues I had and why I said I would not return. To clarify this so it is not a mystery, it was not the foot. It was the service. The last straw was walking in and only 4 tables in the place. A family of 5 in front of me making a comment why is it taking so long to be seated. A waitress comes up and says it will be about 5 minutes. Mind you we had all been standing there for probably 3 minutes - no hostess in site. There were 3 wait staff by the kitchen food window talking. TWO OF THEM then went to deliver food to 3 people...wow...with new customers just waiting. The woman finally told her husband...we have been here over 5 minutes, this is ridiculous, the kids are hungry...lets go. AND THEY LEFT. THE 2 WAITSTAFF found this funny, oh I guess they left. So there I stood.....finally one of them came over and sat me. To make longer story shorter, service was horrible. No refill of tea. Never asked how things were because they were too busy on their cell phones and playing around with off duty wait staff that came in and the hostess who finally appeared. I had to literally flag her down to get a check...and the people next to me, never even got coffee they asked for. After having had a bad experience literally the night before in Elgin Denny's this was the last straw and wrote to tell the company WHY they lost a good customer. So Miguel calling was nice. AND his concern genuine. He asked me to please come in and try them again. So I waited a few weeks and went in last night. I was surprised. There was someone by the hostess stand most of the time I was there. The server I had was new and so friendly and outgoing. Checked on my order, refilled the tea. Brought check without having to be asked and was just genuinely nice to be served by her. So I will definitely return to this Denny's. Miguel listened to the problems and made every effort to fix them. It was a good experience with Denny's and that was nice. Thank you for listening to a customer's concerns. I a day of literally NO CUSTOMER SERVICE...it was nice to know that you did care about your restaurant.

We loved our waiter Sonny, he was so kind and quirky/funny! He waited on us well and made us feel like we were a joy to have around. I came with a craving for breakfast, and I git exactly what I wanted and didn't have to send it back. Hit the spot!

I go here frequently as this is a place my son loves. I like it. Maybe they recently updated but the decor seems fine to me. But then again I'm at Denny's people. Not a fine dining establishment. I have never had a problem with service, except for one day the entire area lost power during the summer and this was one of the only places open. So of course the place was slammed beyond belief - and I can't fault them for not being psychic. Staff has always been friendly. Food is almost always good, hot and exactly as ordered. We never come at super busy times or late nights so I cannot comment on that. Usually we go when "Kids Eat Free", Tuesdays and Saturdays I believe. Sometimes my mom and nephew joins us, and the four of us can eat for under $20-$25. Can't beat it. All in all I like this place and will always go back. Good prices and honestly if my kid can sit still in a restaurant and feel comfortable count me in.

Wow this Denny's is awesome... Excellent service and totally remodeled. I love the new look the new menu and the staff.

Brief review... Came here late on a Saturday night. Very nice and friendly staff. Food is the expected industrial cafeteria stuff on a plate. Not that great, but still better than nothing. Overall recommend as the goto place for late night hunger cravings.

My family and I always comes here. The staff is very inviting and attentive. The only takeaways are the lack of staff which results in long waits before service and the off putting manger that seems to not care about the customers experience but only to rotate tables. All in all, the food is great and the service was even better.

Nice staff and no wait. A little odd that it's connected to a gas station and the bathrooms are shared between the two businesses, however, it's all very clean. Food cooked as ordered. It's what you would expect from a Denny's.

Like any other Denny's, lacks energy, waitresses are drained and dragging themselves, the host didn't greet us lol just grabbed menus looked at us and proceeded to walk away as if to follow her without her saying a word. Trash maybe should train them how to greet people with proper manners and tell people "right this way" to your seat. Food was nothing special.

This review is about the service not the food. If you are looking to order take out and want to call in your order FORGET IT. They don't answer the phone. I attempted this several time on different days and times. I didn't use the app as i couldn't get on AND I don't like to put my credit info online. If you don't mind driving a little further I recommend you visit Hoffman Estates Denny's instead

we are having breakfast at this Denny's today. It's a Sunday so there is a big crowd. the manager is outstanding, our server is pleasant and wonderful. The food is good as always and we had a very nice time. We felt that given crowd the Manager,hostesses, servers and all of the team really had things well in hand and made sure everyone felt welcome. Everybody was working hard here. Upbeat vibe. Great job for this Denny's.

Like all the Dennys... Service sucks, food is good. Its what you have to expect when you go to any Dennys locstion. Employees just dont really care. Always is interesting going in at night to see the freakshow of people there...for that it makes me want to wish we could give half stars so it could be a 3.5stars. Anyways want to wait 20min for some eggs and bacon then come to Dennys!

This place is simply set aside from none other then a waitress named Connie. Which I still think she's exaggerating on her only being a server for a month. I think that says enough for the reason I'm Writing a review on Denny's. Food was good.

Well where do I even begin. After taking my wife to the movies we thought it would be nice to Swing by a Denny's for some eats. We got there around 11:30 and it took twenty minutes to even be served a water and menu. Then it took another twenty minutes to tell the girl what we wanted. After nearly an hour we finally got our cheeseburgers and fries. Half the things we ordered never showed up at our table and THEN the girl tried to slip us our bill and someone elses bill on the same ticket! After physically waving her down and demanding that she sort our bill out, she then forgot web more things like our drinks, to go box and table. She then rang us out after we were done and had the audacity to ask us if we wanted to leave her a tip on our credit card. (sure honey your tip is on the table) 'not' No tip, extremely poor service, dirty, shady lighting in the parking lot and cold food. I or my wife will NEVER EVER come back to that Denny's .

TERRIBLE service. The waiter told us it would take a moment and we did not mind but he came back to our table 3 times to tell us he couldn't take our order. We never received water and I kindly asked for us to simply receive drinks. We waited 45 minutes just to have our order taken and another 20 minutes to receive the drinks before the waiter decided to refuse us service. He canceled our order after waiting almost an hour and told us to leave. We were going to go to a different restaurant but it being 4 am we unfortunately had no other options. I WILL be contacting customer service about this AWFUL experience.

We go here often. Food is nothing to brag about. It's typical "greasy spoon" fair. The young servers are nice and friendly. The older women who work there are not very good at their jobs. They hardly ever refill our coffee and seem as though we are waisting their time. Sadly , since this is the only local sit down restaurant in our area open 24 hours, we'll be back :/ as we are night owls and eat dinner late at night. The atmosphere can be chaotic at times , due to management not reminding some rude costumers to use their "indoor" voices. The bathrooms are always dirty and the restaurant has an old dirty feel to it. It could use an update. On a good note the lilac bushes lining the outdoor walk way smell fantastic!

Horrible service. Super long wait for table & dead restaurant. super long wait for waitress with hardly any people. Dried out rubber pancakes subbed for hash browns eggs were good. Bacon pooled in grease sausage not cooked all the way orange juice past its prime tasted very acidic & chemically. Waitress never came to chk on me

Horrible staff. Ordered online and then get here and the stuff just rolled there eyes like I was Making them work. Asked if my order was done, and that's when they rolled her eyes and just walked away. Are used to come to this place all the time but it's been getting worse year-by-year

If I could I would give no stars...we had the worst service today. Me and my husband always go here to have breakfast and today was horrible. When my biscuits and gravy came the gravy was dry on top and had to ask for them to make me a fresh plate. And when we ordered our food they told us twice our food was coming out and 15 minutes later still no food at my table. Will not go back there.

For breakfast they ask you if you would like toast but what they should ask is would you like toast it cost extra? Sure if you ask anyone if they would like toast they're going to say yeah sure. When the check came the toast was extra. No other restaurant charges for toast at breakfast hours. Toast is supposed to go with a breakfast meal not to be charge as an extra side!

Waiting and waiting and waiting...been sitting here for 15 .minutes and waitress cant even ask what we need to drink...the service here sucks..if I wasn't starving I would not be here!

You ever look at something and say, "this is gonna be a mistake." But you gotta do it anyway? This was that. The service was astoundingly bad. Refills only happened because of the manager, my order came out a little wrong, and then I was left with the ticket (but not till I asked for it) but no one to actually take payment. I should have walked out. And I thought the only mistake would be culinary. At least it was a tasty mistake.

Love this place for late night eats have to try moons over my hammys with Hasbrowns and chese and the waiter named Anna she is great very sweet and there deserts are good to I've been coming here for years and never had a problem and if there was something that didn't taste right they would replace it for me or get me something different I know it's just Dennys but when there kind to you it makes difference
