Denver Mountain Guiding is the most professional, safety-oriented, and fun guiding service I’ve had the pleasure of climbing with! Paul, our guide, was personable, informative, and thorough. He made sure we had enough food and water for the day, checked that the equipment we brought was in good condition, was full of climbing tips that you can’t find in any guidebook or YouTube video, and made us felt supported as we learned new things. Kevin, an owner, established the climbs we did and answered all of my emails promptly when I first reached out to ask about their services. I HIGHLY recommend Denver Mountain Guiding. You’ll have an amazing time, guaranteed.

Google
This was my third time climbing with Denver Mountain Guiding, and every experience just keeps getting better. I’ve had the chance to meet the owner (I even own his guidebooks), and as someone who's part of the tight-knit Front Range climbing community, it’s clear these folks are the real deal. Most recently, I climbed Gambit in Eldorado Canyon with Aiden as my guide. From start to finish, it was an incredible day. Aiden is not only deeply knowledgeable and technically sharp—he’s also easy to talk with, which made the whole outing feel relaxed and fun while still being super dialed-in from a safety standpoint. I felt completely secure on every pitch, and that level of professionalism goes a long way when you're high off the deck. I had such a good time that I’m already thinking about doing some alpine routes with Aiden in the Rockies. If you're looking for a guide service that knows the terrain, understands climbers, and makes every outing feel like you're progressing in your own journey, Denver Mountain Guiding is it. Can’t recommend them enough.

Google
I booked a trip with Denver Mountain Guiding for myself and four coworkers to do some outdoor climbing during our annual conference. Stefan was our guide and he was wonderful. He managed to wrangle our group of varying climbing levels and comfort, giving those of us with more experience more interesting climbs and helping the hesitant ones to try it. I would definitely climb with him again!

Google
I found Denver Mountain Guiding while I was researching Denver and things to do for my upcoming trip. My boyfriend and I do indoor bouldering, and had never done outdoor climbing whatsoever. A Reddit post led me to DMG, and I’m so happy it did. After a quick conversation with Kevin and explaining my experience and interests, he got me set up and booked! The day of our climb, we met with Will and Eldorado Canyon. He was incredible in explaining what we were going to do, making sure we felt safe, and ensuring that we were going to have a fantastic time. Such and incredible experience, and I would absolutely do it again!

This is our 2nd time using Denver Mountain Guides. Both times have been truly exceptional. The guides are knowledgeable, helpful, and personable. They listen to what their clients are looking to get out of their day. I would highly recommend.

Google
Had an amazing day on the flat irons with Will as our guide! He was safe, knowledgeable, and friendly. We learned so much about climbing and really enjoyed our day on the rock. It was our favorite part of our trip to CO! Highly recommend having Will as your guide.

Google
Alex guided us on a day of climbing and we liked him so much we booked him again for another day! He was great on our first day where we top roped in Boulder Canyon, he was super accomadating with our various skill levels and background, and we all learned a lot and enjoyed the experience. He also gave us some insight and recommendations on how to progress our climbing skills in order to start lead climbing. We were able to practice on our own, then we followed back up with another guided climbing day with Alex, this time to solidify our new lead climbing skills. Both days were great experiences, definitely recommend!

Google
We scheduled a half-day for our first ice climbing experience and had an amazing time with Sam. Sam called us the night before to confirm our meeting time and location for the climb. He also provided helpful tips to ensure the experience was both safe and enjoyable. We highly recommend Sam and Denver Mountain Guiding for anyone planning to go ice climbing!

Yelp
Our guide Aidan was amazing. My son is a very experienced climber and I am a novice. He was able to meet both of our goals for the day. It was a great experience and will definitely do it again.

Yelp
Our guide (Will) for ice climbing was very professional and fun. He did a great job with the kids, especially helpful with my seven year old.

Yelp
Sean is the man!!! For valentines weekend my girlfriend and I wanted to try something new, we ended up going ice Climbing! It was an awesome experience. Sean, our guide, talked to us about all the safety behind the different climbing tools, then we hit the ice wall. It was so much fun, 100% recommend this, & 100% will be doing this again!

Yelp
Our guide with Denver Mountain Guiding, Carlyn, was awesome. She was thorough with teaching us the proper techniques and was great company. We had a lot of fun and felt safe the entire time. The location we climbed in Clear Creek Canyon in Idaho Springs, CO was ideal for our level of experience. It was beautiful being right next to the creek. Carlyn also offered us some recommendations for places to eat and things to do nearby. She was super helpful. Whenever we comeback to Colorado we will definitely be rock climbing again with Denver Mountain Guiding! Also, they were very good with communication.

Gabi B.

Yelp
Will was a wonderful and friendly guide and picked great climbs for us! He was also very knowledgeable about the area and gave great climbing tips. Would definitely recommend even for intermediate or experienced climbers!

Yelp
My husband, adult niece and I climbed with Nate Schumacher in Clear Creek Canyon this weekend. We have some experience climbing and knew exactly what we wanted to achieve. Nate nailed it! Great communication in advance of and during the day. He chose a perfect crag. Nate was patient, knowledgable, experienced, and fun to hang with. Highly recommend him and Denver Mountain Guiding.

Yelp
Decided to rock climb for the first time with my best friends and we decided to meet up in Denver to do so. We are so glad that we were able to make this happen thanks to Denver Mountain Guiding. I highly recommend Jason Antin to be your guide! He was so helpful & made the trek an absolute blast.

Yelp
I was in Boulder for a weeklong solo vacation. I got some skiing and hiking in and then realized it was warm enough to climb. So, I called Denver Mountain Guiding and within a couple of hours, I had a half day scheduled for the next day. I met Sean at The Dome and after a warm up learned about proper cam placement, what a moving rock sounds like, building an anchor, when to use a quad, tying a one handed clove hitch and how to stack and flip a rope. I've been sport climbing for years and I learned that I still have a lot to learn. It was an enjoyable and educational day. I would highly recommend DMG.

Yelp
I wanted to let you know the day we had with Joey bouldering in Boulder was no kidding , four times better than I had anticipated. The weather was perfect, the setting was perfect and our guide Joey was perfect. Joey was easy going, he was so patient and helped us enjoy our day every single second of the day. He quickly assessed each one of our ability's and perfectly and accurately helped, instructed and guided each one of us to progress and enjoy. I am 60 years young and have seen a ton of guides, service individuals and instructors, Joey was by far the best. This day was a birthday present for my Son's 25th. It's a day he will never forget and I have your organization to thank for that. Feel free to post this on your site. Richard Terry

Yelp
Had a great experience with this company! Kevin was an amazing communicator and Carlyn was the best guide. Great team and can't wait to rock climb with them in the future.

Yelp
We signed up for the multipitch course, and had Azissa for our guide. She was absolutely amazing. She was extremely patient and knowledgeable in answering all questions and allowing for repetition of the processes, scenarios, and knowledge needed to safely and successfully complete a multipitch climb. The ground school section of the course was perfect, and putting the pieces together on an actual climb in the afternoon was a good culmination of those skills. We felt comfortable enough to complete a multipitch climb the next morning. I say, 10 out of 5 stars. Thanks Azissa and DMG!

Yelp
I booked a full day of climbing with Sean as our guide and we had a blast. He was a knowledgeable and friendly guide and patiently taught me the basics of leading. Clear Creek Canyon was a fantastic place to spend a day. Kevin was extremely helpful in setting up the trip, he gave me all the details I could need and was very responsive to emails. I had a great experience and can't wait to book again next time I'm in the area!

Yelp
As an avid, yet slightly rusty climber, I sought out my first guided rock climbing trip with Denver Mountain Guiding. It was my first time visiting the Bouder/Denver area but I knew that the first flatiron should be my goal. My guide, and company owner, Kevin, did led an outstanding excursion. He was kind, professional, informative and encouraging. I will certainly look at doing another trip. Thank you!

Yelp
Denver Mountain Guiding was very flexible and was able to customize a course for my limited experience. I took the 4 half-day course on lead climbing. The whole thing was done outdoors at several locations in beautiful Clear Creek Canyon. This is a much more comprehensive course than I've seen anywhere else. The instruction and practice was so incredibly helpful I think this should become the benchmark for lead climbing courses. I also don't think you can find a better guide in the area, Kevin literally wrote the book on Clear Creek Canyon. Check amazon for a copy. But when the course was over I still had the itch. I contacted DMG again to see if we could climb the 1st Flatiron. Kevin scheduled a Friday morning and guided me up to the summit by 11am! The amount of slab climbing is phenomenal. So much fun, that is until you look down. Yikes : | Overall it was an unforgettable week thanks to guides Kevin, Laura, and Jason. I would absolutely recommend Denver Mountain Guiding and am looking forward to returning next year.

Yelp
I've used DMG a few times while traveling for work in Denver. The first time, I was hooked up with Sean for ice climbing. Super fun day, my first time trying it! I came back in spring and got out with him again for my first multi-pitch rock climb. Then back again late summer for lead climbing and anchors! I can't recommend Sean enough. Safe, kind, knowledgeable and a great teacher - I've learned SO much from him.

Yelp
Denver Mountain Guiding is the way to go!!! They were flexible with our last minute schedule changes without any hesitation and their customer service is excellent. We went on a 2 hour quick climb with our guide Jason in Golden,CO. If you can request Jason, I suggest you do! Jason was extremely professional , fun, courteous, and very patient. We had a group of 3 climbers and of different levels. He was able to provide a great time that suited every skill level in our group. He took the time to teach the beginners and make them feel extremely comfortable and safe while still learning a ton about the sport in only 2 hours!!! We had an absolute blast! Jason knows when to encourage and push and how to let the climber figure out their own route without over instruction. He leaves you feeling like you successfully and safely pushed your limits of your comfort zone if you desired too. You will leave your climb with a great experience in the beautiful scenery of CO and a feeling of self accomplishment! If you are thinking of booking - do it now- this is the guide you want!

Yelp
Took a Rope Rescue clinic with Kevin and Laura as the instructors and then the Multi Pitch clinic with Sean the following weekend. Great classes on both days learned so much! Sean was awesome and I used the skills learned to climb Yellow Dog Dingo the following day, my first multi without a guide. Highly recommend taking a class with DMG or hiring them for a guided climb. Great instructors and great people!

Yelp
We had so much fun climbing in Clear Creek Canyon with Shane, our guide. Denver Mountain Guiding was awesome- they were flexible with us and our timing and showed us a GORGEOUS, fun place to climb. The areas we climbed were perfect for our skill levels, Shane was a blast with hang out with, and I would def love to climb with them again!

Yelp
Kevin was great. To start, he was easy to get a hold of and schedule our climb. He gave me all the information I needed to know before the day we climbed. Equipment was provided and it was clean and looked new. Myself and the group I was with were all beginners. Kevin catered to our skill level and ensured we had a great time and were challenged to the best of our ability level. He had the perfect mix of spending time to teach us and ensure we were safe as well as giving us plenty of time to climb. I learned many techniques that I did not know, and had a great time. I did not feel unsafe at any moment. Next time i'm in the area, I will absolutely use DMG again!

Yelp
Best day of climbing ever! We did 10 pitches, Wind Tower, Rewritten and the 1st pitch of the Bastille. It was epic, I couldn't have had a better time. Jesse was fantastic, truly a great guide and a great person to hang with all day.

Yelp
We climbed the flatirons with Kevin and it was such an amazing time. We had only done indoor climbing before this and had an easy transition to the outdoor climb. Denver Mountain guiding is priced the best out of the 3 other companies I looked at in the denver area and does an awesome job. I always felt safe and that our guide knew what he was doing. Great job Kevin! if I ever rock climb again in the colorado area it will be with him.

Yelp
Went out with a guide from this company today with my wife and 7 year old daughter. The guide was great and so patient with her. She went from being terrified of the climb to bouncing all around the route. Something i hadn't been able to do before. The area he picked also had enough to challenge me and my wife. Highly recommended.

Yelp
I was beyond impressed with Denver Mountain Guiding! I am a climber that loves to travel, but didn't have any climbing partners in Denver. I called Denver Mtn Guiding so I could get some epic climbs in during my time in Colorado. Not only did I get very safe and competent climbing guides, but Kevin went out of his way learning about my climbing skills level and what types of climbing I enjoyed. He matched climbing areas and guides to meet exactly what I was looking for. I did two days of climbing that I will never forget! It was awesome! The second day Shane took me up a climb that really tested me, and had me leaving Colorado with a big smile on my face. Thank you guys!!!

Yelp
I'm very impressed with Denver Mountain Guiding. It was the first time I ever hired a guide. I was visiting Boulder for a couple days and a friend recommended climbing the Flatirons. I called DMG and Kevin recommended the First Flatiron as a "classic". I had Sean as my guide for climbing the First Flatiron. Mostly a gym climber, this would only be my second time doing a multi-pitch climb. Sean was very positive and encouraging. He was also very proficient, and answered all my questions thoroughly. At every step I always felt completely safe, including the ridge line and the rappel off the mountain. Climbing the First Flatiron is an exhilarating experience since it is 1,000 feet high and the views are incredible, I definitely recommend it. Kevin at DMG was very easy to work with. He always answered the phone when I called. He made it very easy to schedule the climb, and he sent an email with all the detailed information. Moreover, I contacted Sean (the guide) the day before to confirm the details. Everything was very smooth.

Yelp
Went out for a half-day climb with Kevin last week to Clear Creek Canyon, just outside of Golden. I had climbed a little bit before (all indoors), but had never been on a rock face (and wasn't familiar with terminology and equipment, necessarily). I cam away raving about Kevin, DMG, and the experience to anyone who would listen. Kevin knew the terrain and routes extremely well, ran me through a quick safety tutorial, then pretty much set me loose on the rock (after demonstrating and roping the route first). Really encouraging, would point out holds or things I should try when I got stuck, and overall, just made the experience everything I wanted it to be. We started off with climbs that were right around my skill level, then progressed to more challenging routes throughout the day. If you have a chance to go rock climbing in the Denver area, can't recommend anyone more highly than Kevin and Denver Mountain Guiding!

Byron Z.

Yelp
Was really impressed with Kevin and his crew. They listened well to our climbing objectives, responded to our skill level by giving us appropriate challenges, and most importantly were very attentive to safety. I also thought the price was reasonable. We'll be calling them again for more courses. Thanks guys!

Yelp
Kevin is a great guy! We agreed to meet up and climb the first flatiron at 8am. We were traveling from Estes Park and had no phone service while on the way to meet him. Google maps had somehow taken us far out of the way and we wound up being very late. When we finally got in touch with him, he was very understanding. When we finally got to him, he was very friendly and led us on the hike. My entire group is from Florida and it happened to be a rather hot day in Boulder and with the elevation difference, the hike alone took a toll on us. We did some warm up climbing in a smaller area on the side of the flatiron when one person in my party decided that climbing was not their cup of tea. Kevin was extremely understanding and compassionate with her anxiety and brought her down the slab with care and checked on her regularly as the rest of us climbed. She decided she had enough so we all left like a team and never made it to the flatirons. Again, Kevin was sympathetic. I feel terrible that we were a fussy group but he never showed that he was annoyed or aggravated. He even recommended some good places to eat around the area. I would absolutely have Kevin guide me again.

Scott T.

Yelp
Our experience with Denver Mountain Guiding was excellent. I wanted to do something special for my fiancé for her birthday and thought the Flatirons sounded great! I reached out to Kevin and Laura and they quickly responded with a plan in mind. As Spring weather in Colorado is crazy, Kevin kept in close touch with us, and wisely suggested a date change, saving a snowstorm cancellation. We got out a few days later, and again, he worked to provide us the best day possible. Throughout the day, he taught us some new info on trad climbing and anchors, and shared a lot about the various routes in the Flatirons. He was extremely safety conscious and had us aware of what he was doing to ensure it at all times. Can't wait to get back out again with them this Summer!

W D.

Yelp
Tom and Kevin took us out on a Flat Iron climb today and it was spectacular. We are beginner climbers but they offer climbing for all levels. If you have a chance to get out there climbing these two are great guides. They are knowledgeable and made safety a priority. Thanks DMG!

Elizabeth F.

Yelp
I am a novice climber from the San Francisco Bay Area who wanted to climb the First Flatiron in Boulder, CO. When I contacted Kevin at Denver Mountain Guiding, he couldn't have been more accommodating. I was only in town for a brief time, yet Kevin made it work. He provided all of the gear, gave excellent instruction, and encouraged me to take as many risks as I was comfortable with. He was calm, knowledgeable, and relaxed throughout the day, and his demeanor helped my confidence grow over the course of the climb. It was an awesome experience, and I will definitely travel back to Colorado to climb with Denver Mountain Guiding again.
