"Slide onto a counter stool at Deposito Enoteca after a busy day of shopping on Corso Buenos Aires. The space looks like an industrial warehouse had a spa day, with brick arches and hundreds of bottles stacked on industrial shelves, and just enough polish to feel intentional. Instead of sorting the wines solely by region or grape, the menu includes sections like “floral and fruity whites” and “leathery and spicy reds,” complete with flavor notes beneath each label. The amberjack crudo, bone marrow, and ragù of the day are great staples, but what makes us stay for dinner is the whole section of vegetable dishes, which is rare in Italian wine bars. Order a few shareable, produce-forward plates like garlicky grilled cabbage or watermelon that is pressed, marinated, and grilled until it becomes umami, like fruit cosplaying as carpaccio." - Margaret Ross

Last night in Milan and it couldn’t have ended better. We had the pleasure to be the first to try the new menu and everything was great. The wine selection is amazing and tables are neatly spaced for a more private dining experience. Only some sound insulation would be a plus to the already great atmosphere. The two people working in the front of the restaurant took care in presenting the dishes and paired wines. Eventually I think they even opened a bottle that was not on the ‘by the glass’ list just for us. And it didn’t disappoint. They changed my glass from regular to Mark Thomas glassware, which was a nice touch to the experience. The food was a 9/10! But the sriracha on the octopus was too much. Just the tentacles with spinach and a different sauce would be better in our eyes. We ate and drank a lot, which is why I’ve put the price on 100+. But we were so full, you can easily be satisfied around the 60+ mark too. Would come back if I visit Milan
