"Tough news for Pasadena as it seems the only-just-opened Dérive on Green Street has closed. The restaurant announced its opening date in late January and debuted in early February, making this a truncated four-month run. Dérive was supposed to be a successful follow-up to the longstanding Spanish restaurant Ración, which served dinner at the same address for years. Whereas Ración felt like a date night pick, Dérive’s owner Loretta Peng described it as a casual almost all-day space, open daily from lunch through dinner, with brunch on the weekends and a compact bar inside. Unfortunately the experiment was short-lived, as Peng posted the following notice to her website over the weekend: The final night of service for Dérive has already passed. Eater reached out to Peng to find out what may be next for her or the six-year-old restaurant space, but so far has not heard back." - Farley Elliott

Came here for lunch with one other person. We shared 3 plates - shrimp sandwiches, asparagus soup with clam, and cooked grains with chicken. Ingredients were obviously of high quality. Shrimp and chicken were especially tasty. Soup was good though could have used a spice to make it less plain. Portions were very fair, actually larger than I expected for the type of restaurant but not too much. I would be happy to come back for dinner!

Came here for brunch with two other friends, the bread and shrimp sandwich are really good, the salad is ok, the pork Milanese is a total disaster - the pork is bland, the apple dipping sauce is way too smokey, and the celery has a wierd mixture taste of mayo and butter, we didn't even finish half of it, avoid this dish at all cost please...
