"This speakeasy-esque spot in the Marais is run by brothers Mourad and Hakim Mazouz and takes “homey atmosphere” to the next level. For one, it’s set up like a bohemian apartment, with diners taking their pick from the kitchen, dining room, boudoir, or living room—which has a ping-pong table in the center. Upstairs, a smoking lounge is hidden behind a secret doorway (in an antique armoire, naturally). The extreme comfort theme also applies to the menu, with mashed potatoes and beef bourguignon taking top billing for dinner and an epic brunch spread on weekends. Though the dessert changes on the regular, ask for the floating island…it’s garnished with pop rocks."

Came here for an early brunch on a rainy Saturday afternoon without a reservation and was immediately sat in a beautifully decorated dining area. The staff was super kind and went above and beyond to accommodate my food allergies. The service was rather slow, so ensure enough time to eat if you have planned activities afterwards. I opted for the pre-set formule and was served salmon and buttery green beans with Île flottante for dessert. I’d recommend making a reservation for dinner and sharing the small plates. Keep in mind that portions are a bit smaller and on the pricier side, but the food and their concept are well executed. Will definitely return on my next Paris trip.

The whole evening was brilliant, food was great, the staff were friendly and knowledgeable about everything and the atmosphere was great. It's a proper little gem of a restaurant with a great vibe (and table tennis table) and always look behind the doors!!

Google
the staff lady was kind to our baby with stoller, and the lunch menu was trés bon! atmosphere inside is totally different from outside, which was nice surprise.

Google
The atmosphere here is beautiful and super fun! The food isn't what brings people in. The waiter recommended the duck, which was dry. The white asparagus tart was under-seasoned. The salad had too much going on. The cocktails were delicious and well-made.

Had a great brunch here. Nice atmosphere in the garden and very tasty

One of the most amazing restaraunts that I’ve ever been too, the atmosphere, the ambience, the food and their moktails! Absolutely amazing, 100% recommend their restaraunt when you’re in Paris, bring a loved ones, or your family, I went with mine, it’s now a ritual for us to come here whenever we’re in Paris, staff was so friendly and so on it, it was like home, cozy.

Had brunch here and the starter/dessert buffet blew us away. They somehow are able to simultaneously have an incredibly wide selection while also maintaining extremely high quality for each and every item. From smoked salmon, to chocolate mousse, brownies, cream pastries, fruits, cheesecake, etc... everything was outstanding. Each individual item could easily have come from a top-rated local specialty shop and they had them all out on a buffet and we ate until our stomach simply refused to take any more. Of course, they also offered a hot dish as part of the brunch bundle. I chose gamba risotto, which was also great, but it's spotlight was definitely stolen by the buffet. Service and atmosphere were also wonderful. Overall an incredible value for the flat €45 rate. Update: Went back for standard lunch which was an absolutely incredible value for €30. For that price, I would have been happy with the insanely delicious lamb entree alone but it also included a decent salmon starter and an amazing cheesecake. As an extra cherry on top, the butter provided with the bread was also extremely well presented. The decor upstairs and the post card they give you are also great light-hearted additions very fitting of the restaurant's name

Came here with 2 other friends for dinner! We ordered mostly appetizers dishes to share because they simply looked more interesting than the mains 😄 however, our server was very nice and recommended the in season sole (in photo) and that tadted very nice! I think it was too much food but it was tasty. We all got the scallops (3 in total, 1 per person), in my opinion, the acidity of the sides overpowered the scallops and I could barely taste the freshness/sweetness of them. On the other hand, the beef tartare I ordered as my 2nd appetizer was awesome 😎👍 We all shared a dessert mont blanc at the end which was also very nice, not too sweet I find~

Yelp
Their sole meunière was amazing. The lady took us in when it was already past lunch time and she was extremely friendly. Nice plate recommendations. 5 stars to their sole meunière.

Yelp
An amazing, eclectic restaurant that exudes whimsy and fun! Seriously, a ping pong table in the middle of the restaurant? Derrière is located behind storefronts and is accessed via an alley which opens into a small courtyard. You enter the restaurant and immediately pass a motorcycle as you walk to the hostess stand. The food is excellent and strictly French. Service is good, yet they are very busy and don't take time to converse. It is obvious that Derrière is a place that groups of friends come for a fun evening of drinks, laughter, and food.

Yelp
Between the ambiance, food, and location, you cannot go wrong choosing this restaurant. The scallops left us dreaming of another visit to this gem. If you have the time, do yourself a favor and stop in. You won't be disappointed.

Yelp
Great find down a small street. We had heard about Derrière and wanted to see for ourselves. Did not disappoint and was better than expecting.

Yelp
Came here with a few friends (made a reservation before hand) and we all loved the food! Everything was tasty and the ambiance was super hip and fun. The service was slow, but everything else was great. Would totally recommend!

Yelp
We found this place through Yelp while staying on Rue des Gravilliers. The reviews were very good but still did not do this place justice! The service was fantastic, the wine list had some stunning wines and the food was amazing! My only regret is that we were not staying in Paris long enough to go back a second time.

Yelp
We found this place online and made reservations mainly because it was so close to our hotel. The seating in mainly in a small garden and the tables are crowded. Staff were friendly but the food did take forever, possibly because it was their first night open after August break. We came here at the end of our 3 week trip feeling exhausted and pretty disappointed overall with the food in Paris. It turned out to be the best meal we had in the city and tied with the Tours restart and for best restaurant in France. I got onion soup, mussels, and escargot. The onion soup was lovely and I liked the cheese they used a lot. My friend did complain though that it came out Luke-warm- probably because not enough staff. I don't like my food super hot so I was fine with it. The escargot were the best we had de-shelled. I have no idea what they used for the sauce but it was amazing! We had tons of mussels in France but this one was by far the best. Again, no idea what they put in the broth but it was so good you could just drink it. If we weren't leaving, I would have come back the next day to eat there again and the other dishes. Highly recommend this restaurant but reservations are a must.

Yelp
I loved the vibe at this restaurant, very artsy and engaging. The food was also great. I did the lunch deal, which includes an appetizer and an entree for 25 euro. If I had more time in Paris, I would have gone again for dinner and walked around the restaurant more to take in more of the interior design. I am giving it 4 stars, because I thought the service could be faster. It took some time to get my order and I was in a rush.

Yelp
The Quick: Trendy, sexy vibe, delicious food, and a fun experience. The brunch was incredible. The Details: besides this place being an Instagram dream, and being outrageously trendy, the food was excellent! The brunch is this amazing Buffet - they keep restocking the food so everything seems very clean and fresh. So many fruit and vegetables options, which I found pretty rare in Paris. We sat outside, where all the chairs and tables mixed matched in a Whimsical way, but the inside was incredible! Make sure you explore because each room is different and mischievous and somewhat sexual, yet I did see a father and his child and it didn't seem bizarre to have kids here either... Very French. The Details: A bit pricing for brunch, but we definitely got our money's worth and I would absolutely return.

Yelp
This place is the best. The environment is really cool and they have a hidden room upstairs. The food is really good, cute little courtyard. Check it out

Yelp
This is an incredible beautiful space with food that has amazing flavors. The staff was very friendly and the restaurant was giving me vibes of Ted Baker store. Definitely a must go restaurant.

Yelp
Derrière is always a must for me whenever I'm in Paris. The interior is trendy and I'm sure most peoples instagram dream although I never seem to get a pictures while I'm there. I always get a reservation. Like all the other reviews - great and friendly service!

Yelp
There are certain places that are just memorable from beginning to end and Derrière was it. From the ambiance to the service and obviously the food, this was an extremely special place. Obviously it's an insta dream at Derrière but please appreciate this place for its yummy food and drink. It's combination of creativity and tradition all in one. We started with the cheese plate and fois grois. Both beautifully composed and delicious flavors. The cheese selection was a blue, and truffle soft cheese and Brie served with berries pecans and a glaze. The fois grois was creamy with notes of apples and fruit served w a mango chutney (delicious on its own) and crusty homemade bread. For dinner, we ordered the spetzla rissotto, roasted duck, rack of lamb and beef cheek. We had just run the marathon we're eating with two friends. Everything we ordered was special in its own way! Classic flavors with small twists of like pear Gorgonzola and spetzla yum! For dessert the Mille fuille was out of this world I cannot wait to go back-merci Derrière

Yelp
This place succeeded in one thing with flying colors: Checking the box of "Deal with unbelievably rude staff at an ultra-French restaurant." We had plans to make a bunch of different stops in the area, with Derriere being where we all met up first. I called ahead, mostly to make sure they were open on a Monday night, and while I had the host on the phone I asked if they had tables available that night. He said sure, no problem, took my name, and said he'd hold a table for us. Easy enough, right? We get there a few minutes after they opened, and everything seemed fine. We got seated, the wait staff was friendly enough, although obviously annoyed we asked for an English menu. We got a ton of shared plates and a couple rounds of drinks, and decided to wander on. When we asked for our check, things got real weird. Instead of bringing the check, the waiter brought over the manager, who proceeded to absolutely chew us out because he "needed to make more money on the table," he "turned away the hundreds of people who called" so we could have it, and we needed to make this right since I should have told him on the phone we wouldn't be eating a full meal. First off, we dropped close to two hundred euros as everything here is unbelievably overpriced. Additionally, at no point in talking with anyone there either on the phone or when we were seated was there ever any kind of "table minimum" mentioned. Last, but by no means least, we left no later than 8:30, if not far before that, as the place was still mostly empty so everything we ordered came out very quickly. I'm not sure who these "hundreds of people" are that were calling on a Monday, but if I ran a restaurant a table I can turn over in less than an hour and make a bunch of cash, then seat someone else in it to do the same would be my dream- Not something to have a tantrum over. Totally surreal experience, particularly as we were having such good luck that trip in not having the Typical French Restaurant Experience. Anyway, there's a bunch of better, more friendly restaurants/bars in the immediately walkable area. Skip this one.

Yelp
Several people recommended Derriere to me, when they learned I was visiting France - so it sounded like a must-do. I did LOVE the atmosphere here - kitschy/retro/romper-room style interior with mis-matched furniture and records on the wall. Semi-open kitchen, casual living-room style seating area (plus outdoor dining). I didn't love the service - since this was the only restaurant I visited in Paris where our server seemed to scoff at us for having questions about the menu (which by the way, doesn't actually describe any of the dishes), and preferred not to stop by to check-in. The food was mostly good - I enjoyed our eggplant appetizer, and our main meal ate almost like a Thanksgiving feast, including a classic roast chicken, mashed potatoes, gnocchi and a green salad (simple, but tasty). We also tried a couple of desserts: the floating island, which is extremely unique (custard, merengue, cold bisque) ... but not exactly delectable. And the lemon tart, which my husband was extremely pleased with. Definitely a cool/hip place to hang out ... just not my top meal.

Yelp
I have one word for our meal at this place: magical! Everything about it was magical: the hidden courtyard setting, the whimsical interior (chandeliers and ping-pong!), the fabulously delicious food, and best of all was the friendly and warm service. Yes, everywhere you look in Paris there is another delicious restaurant, but many of them follow the same formula. If you want a "typical" Parisian restaurant you should go elsewhere. If you want something insanely creative and unique go to Derriere. Also, as a California girl who loves vegetables, the carrot and the green bean salads were over-the-top awesome (I don't usually like green bean salads - words don't do it justice!) We also enjoyed enjoyed the gorgeous ceviche. For mains we shared the fish of the, chicken, and vegetarian entree - all excellent. It sounds strange to rave about the cabbage side dish that goes with the chicken, but it was so unexpectedly spectacular, and the chicken was one of the tastiest roasted chickens I've ever had. If you are lucky enough to have Halima as your server, you're in for a treat because she is so friendly, kind, expressive, and authentic. She gave spot-on recommendations on the food and wine, and when she had a spare moment at the end of the night she even shared with us some of her favorite things to do in Paris. Our conversation with her was such a joy. Oh, and she told us about the secret room upstairs - ask your server or the hostess how to find it - we laughed and got some fun selifies! Thank you Derriere for imaginative inspiration and delicious nourishment.

Yelp
Derrière is the perfect restaurant for anyone who wants to experience fine French cuisine, great service but in a more relaxed setting. Everything about this restaurant is amazing. The restaurant is quaintly nestled in a very pretty alley way with seating inside and out. The design and layout of the interior is very interesting and not what you would expect from an expensive French restaurant. There is a ping pong table ! As for the food, we went for lunch which I recommend because it cost 30 euros and we got a three course meal and wine. At supper the same deal could easily be double the price. I started with the gravlax which was very generous and some of the best I have ever had. There wasn't that overpowering saltiness that some other gravlax I've tried in the past had and that made me very happy. I then had their signature dish, pork fillet mignon. It was served with roasted baby potatoes and eggplant. The meat was very tender and juicy and was coated in sesame seeds and covered with a glaze. For desert I had an Ile Flottante which is a classic Parisian desert. It is an egg white mountain floating on a vanilla cream. The twist they put on it was that they sprinkled a large amount of popping candy on it. I don't know if you remember having these as a kid but if you do this desert will really make you reminisce in the best possible ways. All in all I loved the restaurant and will definitely be back on my next trip to Paris.

Yelp
I found this "hidden gem" on yelp while visiting paris on vacation. The location was close to my hotel and easy to walk to. The entrance is a small door located in a dark alley. The restaurant itself is amazingly charming and quirky. We didn't make reservations but the host quickly found us a table on the patio. Good start. Our waitress came by pretty quickly and we ordered a bottle of wine, which turned out to be delicious! She came back once soon after delivering the wine to take our food order, but we weren't ready (last night in paris, we wanted to sit and enjoy ourselves awhile). When we finally did order, it took the food awhile to get to the table, however the food was incredible. Here comes the bad. Throughout our entire meal, our waitress never once stopped by. When our plates, wine glasses and water glasses were all empty, we sat akwardly waiting for someone to come by. We tried to get our waitresses attention numerous times but she ignored us and walked right by. The thing that really pissed me off (pardon my french; )) was that there was a table in front of us that she was giving amazing service too. It had been 40 minutes of empty glasses and dirty plates on our table when I saw her literally sit down and take a shot with those patrons. I looked at my husband and said that if she didn't come by in the next few minutes we would leave 100 euro and walk out. A few minutes later a bus boy came by to clear our plates and we asked him to please order two more cocktails for us and grab our server to get our check. It took 20 minutes to get our last drinks and another 30 for the waitress to close us out. Trust me when I saw that all the surrounding tables (minus the table of her buddies) were just as irritated with the terrible service. I would never return!

Yelp
It started terribly when I arrived and the waitress was scribbling down stuff at her stand and wouldn't look up. When she finally did she greeted the group that had just arrived after me. We were a group of 12 and they placed is on a tiny round table where were we had no elbow space despite have lots of large tables down stairs. Drinks took 15 mins to come for the first 5 people, an additional 15 for the second lot, though we all ordered at the same time. I ordered beef carpaccio for a starter. It wasn't beef carpaccio, it was cured beef and not good either. We also ordered terrine and fois gras but still had to ask for bread. The cote de Boeuf was terrible - very dry. The green beans served absolutely cold and the béarnaise lumpy. All the other dishes were served on platters, grouped by type. Not useful when you're a group at a large table and you're at the opposite end of the table to the other person that ordered chicken. The place is too big, grossly understaffed and very overpriced for the quality. Avoid.

Yelp
Translation: "The Butt". See, those high school French classes do come in handy! But really, Le Derriere means "the backside" and in this case, it's the secret backside of an old historic mansion, converted into a massively hip spot to eat, drink, and mingle with the artsy bunch in Paris. The place is truly stunning. Like, pick-your-jaw-up-off-the-cobblestone-floor-stunning. Room after room of the plush parlors, quirky dens, and hidden doors leading to secret bars and party rooms. It's a MANSION, and it belongs to everyone who comes for their $15 cocktails and mediocre food (yes, that's the only downside). They do serve an entire dinner menu, but it feels better suited for drinking & lounging in the vast courtyard and sultry bars. The moral of the story: Derrier is an absolute must-see if you like the arty loft party / mansion speakeasy vibe (it's a thing, right?). You'll pay a little extra to be in the presence of such beauty and cool, but suck it up and soak it up... this is Paris inspiration & intrigue at it's best.

Yelp
This place is amazing! Food is beyond delicious and the staff is so friendly! The beef cheek is a must-have from this place. It was melting in my mouth! We also ordered the duck breast and it was good, too! Overall, everything amazed us including the secret smoking room in A CLOSET!

Yelp
Simply put, this restaurant has a fun ambiance and is extremely overpriced. I would come here only if I were entertaining clients or celebrating a friend's birthday (even then, I might steer clear unless I can expense the check). The venue is interesting to find, as it's through an arc doorway on a smaller street. However, once we got in, we were promptly greeted and sat (we arrived about 45 min before closing time on Sunday). The restrooms were very clean, which was appreciated for Europe, and they also had several stalls (again, nice for Europe). My hubby and I ordered 2 cocktails to start, which were really not very special. His "Old Fashioned" didn't seem to have any whisky (which we may have wrongly translated?) and my prosecco and aperol just tasted of prosecco. For 14 euros each, we were pretty underwhelmed. For starters, I just had to try the Org Egg which was probably one of the best soups (?) I've ever had. It was described as a parfait, but it's definitely a rich soup. The husband went for the pate, which was average and served with pretty tasty caramelized onions. The starters both tasted great, but definitely NOT worth 15-18 euros each. They're also pretty shareable, which the waitress said they were not (size-wise). We splurged on the veal ribs to share as a main dish and were completely underwhelmed. It was cooked very nicely but had no flavor. It was a good thing they offered some dijon mustard, which gave it a nice punch. The au gratin potatoes served as a side was on the flipside overly salty, but at least somewhat balanced the veal. For 75 euros, I would not get this again. There are better cooked meats elsewhere within a few minutes' walk of this restaurant. Tourists, beware!

Yelp
This is, by far, my absolute favorite brunch in Paris. The atmosphere is so much fun, with a ping pong table right in the center of the room, and incredibly diverse, offering patio, indoor, family tables, and bed/couch seating. The food is incredible! Unlimited selections of pastries, bread, cheese, meat, fresh fruit, and pies for brunch, along with hot food. Please, do not miss this restaurant on your trip to the Paris! I didn't even know what I was missing!
google avatar

Kelly R.

Yelp
Brunch at Derriere was definitely one of the better meals I had while in Paris. 38 euros gets you access to a buffet of breads, pastries, fresh fruit (!!!!!), and pastries; choice of hot chocolate or juice; and finally an appetizer (which the French apparently call an "entree") and a main plate. While I thought my appetizer and main plate were only alright--beef tartare and piglet, respectively--I was really impressed with the buffet. Their pain aux raisins was absolutely addicting, and I filled my plate with fresh cherries. Decor, ambiance, and clientele is all very trendy. The courtyard was full of people, and the interior is artsy and well-decorated.

Yelp
Very cool place, the bar is excellent - bartenders are very cool and have great drinks- we ordered a passion fruit cocktail, which the bartender named Fantastique exotique. A little disappointed with the food - it could've been great and hence the reason for the 3/5 stars. But the bar gets 5/5 therefore the overall is a 4/5

Yelp

Yelp
The food was good but overpriced. The staff seemed rude and tried to rush us out of the door before I could even finish my food. With a great Scenery, vibe from the restaurants decor, it was ruined by the awful vibe of the stuff. It's not worth going.

Yelp
Very cool ambience! Friendly staff. Yummy dessert! However, main courses were just okay and a bit pricey compared to other places. All in all, we wouldn't go back.

Yelp
Funky spot with good French food, meaning, mild flavors, home cooked vibe. Trendy for sure. Definitely go upstairs and check out the closet room.. one of the best parts about this unique restaurant/bar. But caution, if you're looking for strong flavors, this won't be a place you'd enjoy.

Yelp
I love when the food is as good and pretty as the restaurant itself. Great food, great design. Good service and perfect for diner with a big group of friend. Ps: and in that I advice you to reserve a table first.

Yelp
Actually ended up here on accident. Meant to dine at 404 proper but missed the door and ended up in the Derriere. That was not meant to be dirty. Once I realized my mistake the server was kind enough to go across the patio and see if there was any room at 404. Alas there was not, so I kept my spot at the bar. My date had a mezcal cocktail which tasted like mezcal (not my thing) and I had a "Green Monster" (or something like that) with absinthe and cucumber, and it was fabulous. We started with the ceviche which was good but could have used much more citrus flavor. Was more of like a poke type thing with coconut and a touch of lime. Was tasty. Also tried the carrot appetizer which was raw (raw-ish?) and julienned. Was also pleasant but not excellent. The entree made the whole dang thing worth the price of admission. Date and I shared the beef cheeks bourguignon. OMG. Like sweet Jesus was this thing delicious. Date and I agreed that bourguignon could not possibly be any more delicious--a la Spinal Tap, it could be "none more delicious." Plenty to share so I recommend doing that. Service was wonderfully kind, funny, and attentive. Funky space, too. Fun atmosphere overall. On our way out we made a reservation for 404 proper and we look forward to that tomorrow night.

Yelp
Hm, really not convinced by this experience. Overall, the food is good, but honestly it is not that great : there isn't any innovation, nor any exceptionally good quality of product that would justify this level of price. It is a very classical cuisine, wrapped in a format that looks modern, but in reality a bit boring, with nothing outstanding. [Full disclosure - I relocated in Bellevue WA 5 years ago but am actually French and spent most of my life in Paris. Therefore the comment below isn't biased by cultural differences] The ambiance is cool but I couldn't help being a bit annoyed by the slightly haughty courtesy of the staff (who weren't that efficient in the service by the way) . Practicing bit of humility in both the kitchen and the room wouldn't hurt them.

Yelp
Dear Yelp, Despite that I am not the first person to review this amazing place, my review is going to be the first one in English therefore could I get a lovely little * which I could add to my modest collection? Pretty please with sugar on top... :) Dear Yelpers, Le Derriere (apologies for not using French alphabet but I'm writing from London and do not have the correct keyboard) is such a cool and magical place that you MUST go in you're in town for couple of days. I went there with a group of friends back in April and was meaning to review it ever since. We were celebrating my friends' marathon success. They ran 42km in 4 hours and 30 mins. Not bad given that one of them had had broken rib week before the race. Quite conveniently the restaurant was couple of streets away from our rented apartment so the journey wasn't too difficult, although we did live in the area known for women working in the oldest profession so we had couple of offers on the way to the restaurant. Luckily we made it safe to the restaurant. And what a gem this place was. Hidden away in a courtyard off the main street, it took you by surprise as you entered inside its arty interiors. It was a feast for my eyes and gave me lots of ideas on how to decorate my imaginary house one day. Everything looked cool, slightly scruffy, and shabby like but all internationally arranged that way. Since the building used to function as a house some time ago, the new owners kept the original layout but had redone walls and decorated it with taste and wild imagination. The bathrooms had huge bath instead of sinks with massive mirror hanging off the wall. Each room of the 'house' has a different theme going on with lots of props, bizarre artwork or paintings, it was like walking around an artist's cluttered mind. And the best of all, we have found Narina! At the first floor just right by the loos there was this huge wardrobe, just like the one in the Tales of Narina, as you opened it there was another door leading to secret room, where ladies and gentlemen, you could smoke at your leisure! Amazing! Have a look at the photos I have attached. I kept sneaking away from the table just to be there, even though I don't really smoke. I got so excited about the place itself that I didn't pay much attention to anything else. That however doesn't mean that food was disappointing. On the contrary, food was lovely although a pinch expensive but worth for the overall experience. Really cool.

Yelp
No customer service whatsoever. Reserved one week in advanced (maximum that you are able to) and apparently that doesn't matter because our table not even worthy for dining it two-- we were seated at a low coffee table NEXT to one other, not in front of each other like a civilized restaurant. It would have been great for tea or something with a girlfriend, but we were planning on eating out for a nice 'n expensive meal together, so it didn't seem comfortable or let alone logical to seat is side by side. I doubt they would have sat an older couple at this table, so why as twenty-somethings was it ok? When we asked to changed ever so politely (as we saw the restaurant was basically empty at 7pm and we were obviously reserved for the first cycle of the evening) they just said flat out no, and instead pulled up a low STOOL for my boyfriend to sit on in front of me, still, with the table at his knees. A STOOL. For a restaurant where a plate is minimum 30 euros and wine gets steep, faire un effort. Snobbiness shouldn't be on the menu when you're going to pay about 100€+ for two people to dine. The atmosphere is wonderful, but the people that work there are not friendly and overly chic above all pretentious. Pretty disappointing for a restaurant that apparently is so renowned for being "cool" but more so just "branché" in the bad way. You pay for the kooky random déco, but I've also heard the food is not something to boast about... Even if was good, the 15 minutes spent inside didn't make me want to stay so I don't even care if some dishes are good. I do not plan on returning to this restaurant during my time on this planet, and I am glad I did not stay after they seated us because of how rudely and unprofessionally they treated us. The servers also used "Tu" to me and not "Vous". Sort of annoying unless you initiate it, nay?

Yelp
We had high hopes for Derriere but there were misses: The good: Hip/cool decor which almost alone warrants a try. The food is good. Venison (€26) with roasted chestnuts, cranberry and yams was very good and well cooked. Swordfish (€26) with veggies and yams was also good. Large portions. Floating Island desert was OK (€8), tasted like marshmallow on cream. Smoking room is very cool - go upstairs and through the mirror at the end of the hall. The two bathrooms are unisex. The misses: Service not the friendliest. My wife bit into a small stone in her food and almost cracked a tooth. They did not give any discount for this at all which was a bit annoying. Some of the seating arrangements seem very cramped. If you've never been, get there right when it opens at 8pm to get your pick of seat. Make sure to make a reservation.

Yelp
This restaurant has a very rude and unwelcoming environment. The food is very overpriced for the quality. I do not recommend at all. Find somewhere else.

Yelp
What makes this place memorable is the interiors (and if for only that it is worth checking out once). The restaurant is themed to be a "house" with different rooms having completely different vibes and seating arrangements- from poofs to chairs to couches- and even a ping pong table that you and other diners can play on. It is a rather expensive menu considering the food is so-so and quite basic. I remember thinking "jeeze I could do this" and we all could. It's just not complicated or complex food. *HINT* go upstairs past the bathrooms (curiously unisex- both of them) and through the wardrobe. unless you have asthma... then avoid at all cost.

Yelp
This past May ('15) while on a family holiday to France, my husband & I managed a date night to ourselves in Paris. A friend recommended we try and get into this restaurant and we're thrilled we took him up on the recommendation. It had a subtle entrance and and was buzzing with fairly hip folks. Their gorgeous 6 foot plus amazon-ish hostess kindly welcomed us, but told us there was quite a wait for the restaurant. We said we weren't in a rush and she found us a perfect spot in their lounge for cocktails. We had a very entertaining time at the bar sipping exquisitely crafted bevies and were then seated in the restaurant a reasonable time later (hour maybe?) The restaurant was full of lively couples & groups. Ping pong table, intriguing art, eclectic furniture, good service and delicious food. It was a unique destination and we're thrilled we went. We totally recommended it to any one else, not in a rush and looking for a hidden gem.

Yelp
Food was good, ambience was also very unique. We had lunch because their was a several day waiting list for dinner. Do lunch to avoid the wait and the price.

Yelp
Great ambience with interesting concept. Their smoking room is the fun part of the place. Food is good too.

Yelp
Super chic locale, with hidden rooms and a hotel/bedroom-themed eating areas. Food was reasonably priced for the ambience and clientele (€19 for a roasted chicken plate), and better than your usual above-average food at every Parisian cafe. Wait staff was excellent and cute. Heads up--check their serving hours before going. Arrived at 6:30pm, hoping for dinner, but had to stick around the area till 8pm before their first seating.

Yelp
Really cool hidden restaurant makes for a mix of a fun experience and great food. The restaurant has an amazing atmosphere, a lot of reviews called it "cozy" but it's more upbeat and fun than that led me to think. It has cool and intriguing decor, with art and different mismatched furniture everywhere. The staff were so kind, only drawback was we waited 45 minutes for our table despite having a reservation. But they had us wait in the very cool hidden smoke room and brought us some wine. The food was delicious!!! Overall a really good choice for dinner before a night out, and it's right next to Andy Wahloo which is a great bar.

Yelp
This is a must visit restaurant when you visit Paris located in the historic Le Marais district. I actually walked by it twice, it has outdoor seating as well as indoor seating. The decor is hip and chic with a good vibe. The service was great. As an Irishman, I actually had the best mashed potatoes I ever had. The steak was absolutely delicious, I just wish they had a restaurant in NYC.

Yelp
A super cool place for a nice but laid back dinner in Paris. It's tucked away from the tourists in a typically Parisian, effortlessly cool style. Menu is awesome, drinks are strong and food is delish. Definitely call in advance to make reservations, even on a weeknight.

Yelp
In terms of overall experience, this is one our favorites. We had a total cutie, knowledgeable and energetic (and hot, if I didn't previously mention) waitress help us around an unbelievable array of meats, cheeses, breads and sweets....all before a really tasty main course of eggs, beef and chicken. All perfectly prepared and in a totally cool spot in an awesome neighborhood in Paris. A+

Yelp
This was the best meal and dining experience we've had so far in Paris. Great ambiance, service, and food. The restaurant is tucked between two shops, through a set of large doors and across a courtyard. We had reservations for 8pm, right when the place opened. And when we arrived, there was already a line to get in. The decor inside is great! Funky furniture and art all over the place. My only concern was that some of the "seats" are soft surfaces, like a bed or a cushion. We both had chairs, so no problem. The service here was outstanding. Our waiter took the time to show us to the restaurant's speak easy-style lounge on the second floor. You access it through an old closet. Very cool! He let us linger there and came to get us when our appetizer was ready. He was also very patient with us. He was the only waiter on the second floor, where there were 15-20 people dining. We speak limited French, and he spoke limited English. So it took a little effort on both ends to communicate. But he did and excellent job and took his time with us, which we really appreciated. The food itself was great. My wife had one of their specials--a lobster dish--which was very tasty. I had the chicken, which was cooked perfectly. Cocktails and wine were good too. Highly recommend this place!

Yelp
I loved the decor and the ambiance of this place. The sauces and flavors of the food were amazing. But I had a very very hard time with the meat that we ordered. It was very fatty which was a challenge for me. If you can handle it then you are braver than me. Also, the giant macaron was to die for. I'd go back just for that.

Yelp
Went there for my wife's anniversary. We either had the choice to sit next to the main entrance (in winter...) or at the first floor (next to a group of 20 drunk sales men shouting at each other)... Anyway, service is good, deco is funny & food is ok, but prices have gone off the roof !!! Expect to pay the same price as a 1 star Michelin restaurant, which is crazy considering what you'll have in your plate.
