I'm often very active professionally and personally and these stresses demand a need for stress reduction, health maintenance and self care. As a doctor, I also deal with people asking how they can ease tension and crave for resources within the community to heal themselves.
So, we visited Descanso Garden Spa and see to what extent their impact on tension reduction and self-care. Voila! First it was about $30 and if you need a massage, scrub, and other self care specialities, they do offer that at a minimal cost. You can use their dry and wet Sauna, hot spa (Japanese and Korean style), shower rooms (they provide toothpaste, toothbrush, shave materials, etc.). They also have a salt room, oxygen room, charcoal room, separate sleeping rooms, etc.
When you feel hungry, they specialize in great Korean dishes, I ordered the Galbi and Bi-bim-bap and a small drink. You can stay as long as you want and parking is free and available.
I've studied in Korea and Japan on both science scholarships and mind you, these spas remind me a little about my stays in both countries. Not only that they are very hygienic and clean, the workers are absolutely professional and welcoming.
So, if you're planning to take care of yourself amidst the hustle and bustle of life in the fast or slow lane, drop by this spa or anyone of them and prepare to south those tired muscles and pounding headaches.
The warm water drilling through your face, blowers from the spa hitting your back, tasty morsels at the cafeteria during lunch and smiling faces of the ladies at the front is a cacophony of treats that'll make your day.
