9 Restaurant and Bar Openings to Know in and Around Boston This Month | Eater Boston

"A popular Toronto-based Detroit-style pizzeria has opened its first U.S. location at the Prudential Center food court (across from Wagamama). Head to the food court for "springy, spongey, crispy-edged square pizzas" loaded up with a variety of toppings. The location is managed by a local franchisee who also runs the quick-serve breakfast and lunch spot Pressed Cafe." - Erika Adams

One of my new go-to spots for pizza in town. When I first saw this place on social media, I assumed it was another gimmicky “trendy pizza” spot. The photos made every pie look way too heavy. But after finally giving it a try, it turned out to be some of the best Detroit-style pizza I’ve had in Boston. Tried three different kinds, and I was immediately hooked by the buttery crusts. Thick, crispy, and so fragrant that you could smell the butter from across the table. Despite being nearly as tall as a Chicago deep dish, the base was airy and pillowy, so it never felt too dense. My favorites were the Truff Guy and the No Name. I also love that they offer a personal size option, which comes as two massive triangular slices. I can rarely handle more than a couple of slices anyway, so it’s the perfect portion.

Google
From the friendly service to the overall atmosphere to the yum-e-licious pizza, salad and local pops, this was an excellent experience! It was so good my lovely love wife and I came back an hour after we left and ordered another pizza and salad to go. The great Dave Portnoy of One Bite Pizza Reviews gave this an 8.1. While I acknowledge that is a high score, that is too low with all due respect!

Truly the best pizza I think I’ve ever had! Service and atmosphere were amazing too!! Was at the Boston location in the Pru and will definitely be back again!

Great pizza, great price. We had a Detroit-style pizza in Detroit a few months ago, and this one was better. They have classics, and some more experimental flavors. We tried the “no name” and the truffle one. Both great. The dough is very good: crispy, fluffy, light, and not dry at all. Good tomato sauce, and good ingredients. The environment is nice, kinda tucked into a corner in the Prudential. And the staff were super nice.

I absolutely loved this place! The Detroit-style pizza was incredible—crispy, fluffy, and packed with flavor. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the service was top-notch from start to finish. The owner and general manager were both amazing—friendly, passionate, and clearly dedicated to making every guest feel welcome. I’ll definitely be back!

Almost brought me to tears—this pizza was that good! Every bite was an explosion of flavor. If you love pizza, you have to try Descendant Detroit Style Pizza. The only thing that matched the quality of the pizza was the incredible staff. During a short visit to Boston, my wife and I stopped in to grab some pizza for dinner. While we were reading the menu board on the wall, the manager, Agon, came over and personally walked us through each pizza, explaining the ingredients and answering all our questions. I ordered the most popular pizza, the "No Name" and wow, the first bite gave me goosebumps. My wife had the "Canadian" and it didn't disappoint! Alex, the owner, stopped by our table to check in and make sure we were enjoying everything. Every team member was friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. We walked in as strangers but it felt like we left as friends. This place is an absolute grand slam! I have always loved a good Chicago deep dish and thin crust pie from the Windy City. And I’ve grown to appreciate a good New York slice. But several years ago, I stumbled upon Detroit Style Pizza, and I’ve never looked back. Nothing compares to that crunchy, caramelized cheese crust and the creative topping combinations. And Descendant Pizza? It's hands down the best I’ve ever had. You gotta give it a try! My only regret is that we don’t have one back home.

Would I eat here again? For sure. Great pizza located in the Prudential Center in the heart of Boston. We got the Cheese, No Name and Canadian and enjoyed each of them. The crust is delightful, sauce is delicious and service was great. It is thicker pizza but like a good offensive lineman, it looks heavy but tastes light. : ) We got the pizza to go and eat in our hotel room which made for a fun little pizza party. If you are looking for good pizza in Boston, I would definitely give it a try.

As Fatima mentioned below, I am so glad I discovered this place. I was skeptical at first, but I felt it was gonna be good. It was even better than I thought. This is without a doubt the best deep dish pizza I have ever had and the cookies were just as amazing. The service was beyond anything I expected. My cousin and I were completely lost in the Prudential Mall, and coming all the way from California, I was so grateful when Ilham not only greeted me kindly over the phone but also went out of her way to find us. She made us feel so welcome, and her kindness truly stood out. The atmosphere, the artwork, the friendliness, and of course the food all made the start of our Boston trip so memorable. It was such a warm and positive experience that set the tone for the rest of our visit. The “feed the cheeks” too was so cute I loved it. As you can tell I really love the box and the pizza + cookie combo was killer ! 😋😋😋🍕🍪Puts cali to shame Thank you so much Ilham for going above and beyond. You made our night extra special 💖 — Mariam and Fatima💖

Yelp
First time trying Detroit style pizza and I'm a fan. I love thick crust pan pizza so this was definitely up my alley. I got the no name and the ricotta and slightly spicy pepper combo was amazing. The 6x6 is more than enough for me. I tried a bite of the pepperoni and I definitely suggest getting one of the more complex pizzas. The staff were so nice and came by to check on us multiple times despite this being kind of a casual, order and seat yourself style spot. I'll be back to try a different pizza soon.

Yelp
Ordered a pizza to hold me over for a conference. I ordered it as I walked over from the hotel and by the time I arrived it was all prepared. I will say I got lost looking for it the Apple Maps made it seem like it was on the exterior. It's located by Saks fifth and Cava. But back to the pizza. It was really good. I got a personal cheese pizza with a side of garlic parm aioli to dip in and it was exactly what I wanted. I might have to get another one before I head home.

Yelp
Tucked into the corner of a mall by Saks, this place is AMAZING!! I got a gluten free 'No Name' pizza; The house Signature Cheese Blend, Ezzo Pepperoni, House-Made Fennel Sausage, Tomato Sauce, Post Oven Ricotta Dollaps, Hot Honey, Fresh Herbs, Grana Padano, Calabrian Chilis. (I left off the chili's and got my hot honey on the side) Hubby got a dish of meatballs and said they were great, finishing every bite. The gluten free pizza crust was so good!! It was more what I think is a deep dish, which was amazing and a really big pizza! I am used to the gluten free being a smaller pizza/ person sized... This was not!! It's an 8 x 10 size! Service was fantastic and the pizza was incredible, my only complaint is you're not in Arizona!!

Yelp
Damn, that was good! Never had Detroit-style pizza before and that was easily one of the top pizzas I've ever had. The Gat Daddy had a thin crisped cheese crust, delicious toppings, thick yet airy dough, and a golden-brown bottom. The 6x6" Personal size easily got me stuffed. Appreciate them letting me sample a few of their signature dips. Swing by for sure!

Aly S.

Yelp
Great food, great staff! Good seating but tables are a bit small. Huge portions, the personal pizza can serve 2. We got the arugula beet salad and the 'no name' pizza with curried lime sauce. Everything was delicious and we will be back!

Yelp
We saw so many reviews and videos on IG that we had to give them a try. In the middle of the Prudential Center Building. This is across from Wagamama. tucked in the corner is this amazing Chicago style deep dish pizza spot. First thing I noticed was their list of sauces on the bottom. I saw it was $2.50 for one i was like dang. lol had to try it anyways! Food 4/5 - both our pizza was amazing! Highly recommend getting the truffle pizza and jerk chicken pizza. The caramelized-onions along with the cheese and truffle is such a great combo! The mango chutney in the jerk chicken pizza had that sweet taste to every bite. We tried three of their sauces ($7.50 for three small cups of sauce lol) we tried the Tabasco ranch, diablos fuego hot sauce, and garlic parm aioli. We were nicely warn by the cashier that the hot sauce was spicy . I said sounds great. We love spicy! First dip on my second bite of the pizza, I said, where is the spice? LOL this sauce was comparable to sweet thai chilli sauce. Not even kidding LOL the Tabasco ranch was good but nothing amazing. The garlic aioli, I would get again. If you like garlic sauce on your pizza and love dipping in ranch, this is the sauce lol overall I don't think it's worth paying $2.50 for sauce lol

Yelp
The food/Pizza was amazing. Very similar to Chicago's deep dish pizza. Really enjoyed it. Had a little spicy kick Gat Daddy as well as the No Name. If you can eat buffalo wings you can eat these. The service was amazing excellent. The ambiance was amazing. We are on our last day f our 1st visit to Boston. Kept it low key just R&R in a different location. The weather cooperated for 4-straight days. I recommend Descendants Detroit Style Pizza.

Yelp
Today I tried the Canadian . It had cheese blend, Ezzo pepperoni, double smoked bacon, Cremini mushrooms, tomato sauce, house-made ranch, fresh chives. Very interesting. I love a tomatoey, saucy pizza and this was it. Service was great, per usual. This is one of my favorite pizza spots.

Yelp
Descendant Pizza - Detroit-Style Heaven in the Heart of Boston 800 Boylston St #123, Boston, MA 02199 If you're on the hunt for the best Detroit-style pizza in Boston, Descendant Pizza might just end your search. Tucked into the Prudential Center, this spot delivers a crust that's both crispy and fluffy--a rare and satisfying combo that makes each bite a perfect balance of texture and flavor. We tried the classic Cheese ($19.55), made with a rich cheese blend, tomato sauce, Sicilian oregano, olive oil, and grana padano. It was simple, nostalgic, and hit all the right notes. I'd rate it a solid 8.1/10. But the standout for me was the Jaffna ($28.75), a wildly inventive vegetarian option featuring kothu roti, mango chutney, Calabrian chilis, and coconut sambol--a flavor bomb that tasted like a tropical vacation layered on pizza. One of the most underrated perks here? The dipping sauces. From garlic aioli to truffle, lime aioli, and even Mike's Hot Honey, the sauces take your pizza game to another level. It makes every crust end feel like a bonus instead of a burden. Don't skip dessert either--Cookies by Feed the Cheeks are the perfect sweet treat to round out the meal. We paid around $60 for two pizzas, two drinks, and still had four slices left over. With these thick Detroit-style slices, 2-3 per person is more than enough to leave you stuffed. Final verdict: 8/10 - One of the best pizza spots in Boston for anyone craving creativity, customizable toppings, and that signature Detroit crunch. I'll absolutely be back the next time I'm at the Pru!

Yelp
Descendant Detroit Style Pizza is the new spot in town that offers Detroit Style pizza! I've tried Detroit style pizza before and LOVED IT, so you know I definitely had to make my way to try Descendant's ASAP. They're located in Prudential Center, directly across from Wagamama & in between CAVA + the Women's Saks Fifth Ave. To order, you can order to go at the front or can also order from the tables! **Not traditional sit down dine in, but they do bring your order to your table. We decided to eat at one of the tables & ended up ordering: -"No Name" ; Original 8x10 -Electric Avenue ; Personal 6x6 -Truff-Guy ; Personal 6x6 -Root beer My favorite was the "No Name"! It was very flavorful and I liked the flavor the most out of the three pizzas we ordered. My second favorite was the Truff-Guy, and least favorite was the Electric Avenue. I like pineapple on pizzas (I know, controversial!) but the flavor profile wasn't my cup of tea, however, still good. I'd probably come back and order the "No Name" (for sure) and the Truff-Guy, since I do love mushrooms. Staff was very nice, helpful, & attentive. Overall, Descendant Detroit Style Pizza is a great place to grab lunch or dinner if you're in the area or shopping at the Prudential Center! Parking: can be a bit tricky as there's no free parking, unless you come on a Sunday (free street parking). On other days, you can park street parking spots or can park in one of the garages.

Yelp
In Boston for Ooening day and found this place on IG. I love a good Detroit-style pizza and this one didn't disappoint!! The place is in the Prudential Center, by the View. We walked in got greeted right away. The woman explained the menu and after a minute, we decided on Pepperoni extra cheese. Cooked perfectly and was brought out to our table quick! The cheese pull!! If you're looking fir some good Za... this could be the place for you!!

Yelp
Prefacing with I'm not a huge pizza fan but I am definitely a pizza crust connoisseur. Growing up, my family would eat their pizza slice and pass me their crust. They thought they got the best part but I did too LOL. The first time I had Descendant was when I was experiencing Covid and Flu simultaneously. My sister brought it home and I was dying to eat something other than asian congee. Though I couldn't taste the flavors, I already knew it was delicious and I just had to get my hands on it a second time (preferably when I could smell and taste things again.) Fast forward a couple months, I ordered some for a Team meeting. Yep. It checks out - absolutely divine. Thick, fluffy, and chewy crust topped with all the right toppings properly seasoned to the core. The garlic parm sauce is no joke. The truff guy pizza is probably my favorite of them all. If you're able to, definitely make an effort to try them at least once!

Yelp
Holy Detroit pizza Batman!!!! Found my new favorite pizza place... Detroit style! The hype buildup surrounding this place is absolutely legit. Initially came across this place on IG. My jaw dropped, eyes sparkled and mouth started watering. Just had to try it and my goodness it did not disappoint. It's square!!! And Truly authentic with the sauce actually on top! thiccck, chewy Sicilian crust. A variety of delicious toppings, mound plenty of cheese on top all the way to the edge. Heap any extra toppings on the cheese. Drizzle on a thick layer of signature red sauce that trickles through the bubbling cheese... oh my With two size offerings (8x10 and 10x14) and a scrumptious menu, pick whichever you like & prepare to be amazed Barese Cheese Blend, Barese Sausage (Lamb + Pork), Mama Lil's Peppers, Pecorino Romano, Kalamata Olives, Vodka Cream Tomato Sauce, Fresh Herbs. No Name Cheese Blend, Ezzo Pepperoni, House-Made Fennel Sausage, Tomato Sauce, Post-Oven Ricotta Dollops, Hot Honey, Fresh Herbs, Pecorino Romano, Calabrian Chilis

Yelp
My friends found this place on tik tok and the food looks absolutely delicious! I decided to check it out and it did not disappoint. In a location like prudential, it is great to stop by when shopping or exploring the city. While it is definitely a bit pricier, I would say it is worth it. We grabbed two personal pizzas and two cookies and cream flavor cookies. My Truff Guy pizza came with a creamy sauce drizzled over it, the pizza itself was doughy and thick! I love pizza like this. I also decided to try it with the garlic parm aoli which was out of this world! Definitely try this with your pizza. The cookies were amazing as well, they were huge! I would love to try more of their flavors. The staff were also very kind, they explained the menu well. There was a man who might have been a manager (?) and he was incredibly helpful, literally taking trash out of my hands to throw it away haha. TL;DR: great new pizza place in prudential, check them out and give them some business. The pizza and cookies are wonderful.

Elaina B.

Yelp
Placed an order over the phone the gentleman was very nice and had great recommendations. The pizza was a perfect size and we did the pepperoni pizza with garlic aioli sauce and it was fantastic. We didn't eat it in the restaurant but it was nice inside. You should definitely visit!

Eamon K.

Yelp
My new favorite restaurant. I had read the reviews about this place and been strongly recommended by a friend. I've spent so much time in the prudential center but I had no idea that tucked away in the corner was the best pizza in Boston. I'm celiac so finding a place that has gluten free dough available and is also safe is pretty difficult. When I told them about my allergy they immediately brought over the manager who informed me that not only can all the pizzas be made gluten free, they are made separately and safely. He also showed me an allergen chart and pointed out which pizzas' toppings were already gluten free and which needed modifications. I should also say that the manager is one of the nicest people I have ever met working in a restaurant. The staff all seem to love being there. The pizza was phenomenal. I got the no name in an 8 x 10 size (they also have personal pizzas in 6 x 6 but those can't be made gluten free). I ordered the garlic Parmesan aioli and liked it so much I got another. The dips cost extra but are a must-try. Even though it was a pretty large pizza I ate the whole thing in one sitting, and it would have been easy to take home with me as well. I think this place is my new bar for restaurants. It really feels like the good guys are winning. Great food, great staff, please support this place. I know I'll be back.

Yelp
Got a 'No Name' for delivery and was pleasantly surprised by how flavorful the sauce was. I just wish that there was more sauce on the pizza to balance out the cheese. I love the hot honey and ricotta combo - the ricotta brings a much-needed cool, creamy aspect to the pizza. The crust wasn't my favorite, I think that it could have been more airy and chewy. It felt a bit flat compared to the ratio of toppings it was holding. I would consider coming in person to try it again fresh out of the oven.

Yelp
Located adjacent to Cava and across from Wagamama at the Prudential Center in Boston's Back Bay, Descendant Pizza offers Detroit-style pizza. This style of pizza is rectangular/square in shape, baked in a pan, and the sauce goes on top of the cheese. This is Descendant's first U.S. location, they started in Ontario, Canada. Ordering: Easy. You can either order online or in-person. They take all major credit cards. Allow 10-15 minutes for cooking, which is significantly shorter than many other spots offering Detroit-style pizza. 9/10 score. Crust: The crust was great and baked to near perfection. 8/10 score. Cheese: Great cheese blend and they top with grand padano, too. 9/10 score. Sauce: Very good sauce here. 8/10 score. Toppings: I had the "No Name" pizza which had sausage (with fennel) pepperoni, Calabrian chilis, drops of Ricotta, and hot honey. These were excellent. 10/10 score. Cut: While cut evenly, the cut did not go cleanly through the pizza which meant slices wouldn't separate easily at all. 5/10 score. Oil / Grease: These pizzas are cooked in an oiled pan. A little too much oil for my liking because a small bit seemed to leak through the box. 5/10 score. Box: The box is sturdy and clearly identifies where the pizza came from. They use a corrugated insert that helps avoid any sliding around, too. 8/10 score. Value: Ugh, this is the worst thing. In Canada, Descendant has a 10x8 inch pizza as their small and a 14x10 inch as the large. In Boston, the large is 10x8 inch and the small is 6x6 inch. They are pricing the large in Boston the same as the small in Canada, except it's in U.S. Dollars. So the pizza I got was 25 USD in Boston, but in Canada would only be around 18 USD. This is made worse by the fact that a competitor like Volo in Swampscott sells their Detroit-style pizza as a 14x10 inch pizza for only $1-2 more for a comparable pizza. So you're basically getting screwed at Descendant. The large pizza in Boston serves 1 hungry person or 2 not very hungry people and Volo's serves 3 people (maybe 2 if they are very hungry). 2/10 score, sadly. Overall Score: 7 / 10 - It's a good pizza, but Volo and Avenue offer pizza that is on the same level at better value.

Yelp
This was pretty tasty and unique! I got the electric avenue pizza in the personal size. I really liked the portioning on it. The toppings were cool and the Detroit style crust was yummy. I also got a pineapple soda which tasted good and I got a cookie. The cookie was the weakest part of the order, a bit bland and not sweet enough for my liking.
google avatar

Mindy P.

Yelp
I had been exhausting all my lunch options at the Pru, so I was super excited to learn that a new pizza place had opened! I currently work by the Pru, so it's mostly out of convenience that I eat often at the Pru. Signage is kinda difficult to distinguish that this is a pizza place, and since it's far into the back near a Saks entrance and across from Wagamama, it may be easy to miss. Thanks to friends for spotting this place out and recommending me to try it. Detroit style pizza is thick, cheesy, and heavy, but it's tasty and delicious in the best way possible. It took some time to get my personal size pizza, but it was worth the wait. I got the cheese personal pizza for $10 + tax, and I ate it for almost two meals because of how heavy and filling it was. Excellent deal! Be careful because the pizza comes out super hot and you may need cutlery to eat it comfortably!
google avatar

Neeka P.

Yelp
This place was pretty good but SUPER expensive. I think for this personal style pizza and sauce we paid like $20. That being said it was pretty yummy but obviously very heavy. I enjoyed it though but I would've like a bit more red sauce on it.

Yelp
My partner and I shared the cheese 8.1 (personal pizza 6x6) - TASTE: 4/5 - average cheese pizza to me, w sweet tomato sauce and lots of shaved cheese on top. Interested in trying more off the menu TEXTURE: 5/5 - truly phenomenal texture! I love Detroit-style pizza for its thick, chewy Sicilian crust -- crisp on the outside, and fluffy on the inside. Would come back just for more of that crust honesty, so good PRICE: 4/5 - $10 for the 6x6 personal pizzas and around double ($17-$25) for the large 8x10 pizzas SERVING SIZE: 4/5 - pretty small for a "personal" pie. Fortunately, we came just to try it as a snack SERVICE: 4/5 - a few tables were occupied when we walked up to the counter at 4:30pm on a Saturday. The employee at the register was helpful, and our order was brought to our table in 5min ATMOSPHERE: 4/5 - located across Wagamama in the corridor off the center court; tight-ish seating at Descendant, but more available along that corridor. Note: Feed the Cheeks cookies available for purchase too PARKING: 4/5 - got a metered street spot at Clarendon St x Boylston St to browse Copley Place and the Pru

Yelp
Excited to see a Detroit style pizza place open in the Pru. I haven't seen Detroit style in Boston before. Detroit pizza reminds me of the pan pizzas of my childhood. Descendant makes an amazing Detroit style pizza with the thick crust and plenty of cheese. The pizzas are made freshly and brought to your table. It is pricy but the pizza could easily feed two people. Their cookies seemed to be popular but I'll have to try them another time.

Yelp
This place was surprisingly good. I tried the Electric Avenue, which was a jerk chicken pizza. I got a side of spicy tomato sauce, which paired perfectly. This pizza was my favorite. I got a personal size, which was enough to split between two. Then I tried the No Name--pepperoni, sausage, tomato sauce, ricotta, hot honey, herbs, Romano, and some kind of chilies. This one was the winner for me. The flavors hit just right--sweet, spicy, savory. Bomb. Service was on point-- friendly and fast. The place was clean, too. Not a ton of seating, but that didn't really matter since most folks were just grabbing their orders to go. And the carrot cake cookie? Don't sleep on it. It was soft, moist, had that crunch on the outside, and packed with flavor. Definitely a must-try. All around, I'm looking forward to going back and trying more. This spot's legit.

Yelp
OMG I LOVE!! It's so hard to find Detroit style pizza and this place does not disappoint. They were super quick with our order (maybe waited 10 mins) and it was pipping hot. I got the jaffna which was amazing. I was so happy to see a vegetarian option for such a cool pizza. The flavors were insane and truly will be coming back again

Yelp
I... don't have words. I have never had Detroit style pizza and tbh, I have no idea if I will ever be the same. Staff was super helpful and the cookies looked amazing but... the pizza. THE PIZZA. There is a thin layer of crispy cheese encapsulating the crust, which is fluffy and wonderful. The toppings are all high quality and the cheese blend is elite. Even if you aren't IN the Pru, is worth a walk in there to give it a try... it could very well change your life. I'm so sorry I didn't take a better picture. (This is the smaller personal size.)

Yelp
Absolutely loved this place! The pizza is delicious- perfect detroit style. We also got a salad and all the ingredients were super fresh. Every staff member was incredibly sweet and very attentive throughout our visit. The inside is super clean and has an elevated casual vibe. Can't wait to come back here.

Yelp
Amazing pizza ! Tried the no name pizza off the menu. I will say it's better than any other Detroit pizza I have had.

Yelp
What we ate/drank: No Name Pizza, Jaffna Pizza Would recommend? Yes, strongly Descendant Pizza is hands down the best pizza in the Boston area. The Detroit-style pizza here is incredible--crispy cheesy corners and a light, fluffy interior that makes each bite a perfect combination of texture and flavor. We tried the No Name Pizza and the Jaffna Pizza, both of which featured deeply flavorful and original combinations of toppings that were well-balanced and delicious. Each pizza had a unique twist, yet the flavors never felt overpowering. Not only is the pizza fantastic fresh, but it reheats beautifully, keeping that perfect crispiness and flavor. Yelp
Friendly service, small dining room or you can eat outside on the mall tables, although, a bit overpriced for what you get. We spent $115 for 2 pizzas, some cookies, and a drink.

Yelp
Way too salty. Also fairly expensive for pizza. But it might be the only Detroit style pizza in Back Bay

Yelp
I am not a big reviewer but wanted to call out Descendant. Had the Daddy's Favourite which was really great - an amazing blend of different tastes all on delicious chared on the side Detroit style dough. Also, the service was exceptionally helpful and friendly.

Yelp
I really didn't like it. The pizza was greasy, doughy, and nearly impossible to cut with the flimsy plastic silverware. The girl insisted it has been cut into slices before coming to us, but the slices had re-annealed and couldn't be separated. We were really struggling, and were the only customers in the shop, but no one came to help. Also, the cheese had been shredded onto the pizza raw. It just didn't taste that good, and when the same girl came to clear our plates, I told her I didn't really like it. She just said "Oh". Not liking the food in an empty restaurant should be a cue to the manager to come inquire of the customer what might be amiss. She must not have mentioned it to him. She didn't know how to work the cash register well either. There seemed to be an attentive manager, but he didn't reappear after we got the food - just during the ordering process. The salad had a lot of onion and corn which I didn't like much either. We won't be back.

Yelp
Got a large cheese pizza w/ onions and garlic parm aioli. Amazing pizza! Delicious dough with high quality toppings, and the garlic aioli was just as good. I've had a lot of pizza, but never Chicago Style - it exceeded my expectations by a mile! Will definitely come back!

Yelp
Being from Detroit, I can attest this pizza is amazing and reminds me of home! Fresh, dough cooked well and crispy.

Yelp
This pizza was super good. Just like Detroit style pizza. Everything seemed fresh, and my basketball team thoroughly enjoyed it after a long day of games. We had it delivered.

Yelp
Our meal at Descendant was amazing. Some of the best pizza I've had. Our family got the gluten free crust which was one of the best we've found. It can be hard to find a place that does gluten free pizza well but this is the place!! The owner mentioned that he tested several crusts before settling on one. He was such a kind man and his level of care for us was incredible. Crust was moist and fluffy while being deliciously crunchy. If you are craving Detroit style pizza especially if you are gluten free this is the place!!!

Yelp
So amazingly good! Went here on a cheat day and it did not disappoint. The crusty is thicker but very airy. The crust is amazing. Pepperoni spicy but not overboard. Great experience!

Yelp
Absolutely amazing pizza!! Being a pizza connoisseur from Detroit, I have high standards for what a consider good pizza, and Descendant well exceeded expectations! Best pizza I've had since moving to Boston - and I've had them all. On top of that, service was amazing, the staff was beyond friendly and helpful. Will definitely be back!

Yelp
Hands down one of the best pizzas in Boston! This is the "no name" pizza with the garlic aioli dip. The BOMBBB

Yelp
Great customer service. Was browsing outside the store when the manager came up to us and introduced us to their menu. Very detailed explanation as well. Food was bursting with flavor, would definitely recommend to friends and family. Hidden gem!
