in shot: a nightmare!
I keep wondering what kind of scheme they were able to pull of to collect this many 5 star reviews.
Here is my quick advice for anyone entertaining the idea of Desert Safari: don't do it!
But if you absolutely insist to do so, then...
- do not go with this company (Adventure Desert Tourism). The bad news is that they are almost the same. They all have a poor looking, crowded, camps in the same 1km radius.
- if you still insist, read the fine print and the plan several times as they make it misleading. Choose a hotel pick up with a 4x4. A pick up doesn't automatically mean 4x4. You could get a centralized pick up with a 3rd world bus packed with people that you have to wait for after and before the event.
- don't expect the same service as you would get if you booked directly with them. Although you would think they advertise the same packages here, no, they don't. They will rip you off.
- Very very rude people, just expect it and you won't be disappointed.
- Although, you feel that you have already paid for it all, they will keep coming around, being really pushy to sell you something that you don't need or is included in your package.
- Don't arrive too early as you will be bored and sit uncomfortably wondering what they hell I am doing here.
- There is nothing authentic Bedouin about it. The bar has alcohol (are you really muslim?)
- The welcome tea and coffee means, that you poor water into a foam cup and add your own Nescafe. The tea goes the same way.
- They will remind your several times, you can only drink water until 7PM.
- and no, the Dune bashing isn't 20-30 minutes as you would expect. It is hardly 5 minutes and just going in circles. You actually don't go deep into the desert, it is right by the highway.
and something positive for the end. The Quad bike is actually fun, but not more than 15 min.
