The 10 Best Indian Restaurants In Jersey City

"Tucked in a corner of India Street, you’d never guess this paan and smoke shop has an entire section dedicated to street foods of India. Walk in towards the back and lined up on a table you’ll find a live pani puri station with the most incredible flavors, including pudina, hajma, jal jeera, garlic, and our favorite, green mango. For some more snacking, try their Mumbai misal pav and Bombay sandwich." - nisha vedi pawar

Tried Desi Adda in Jersey City and had a pretty decent experience overall. We ordered the Vada Pav, Chole Nan, Veg Sandwich, Misal Pav, Dahi Puri, and Aloo Cheese Wrap. The Vada Pav was good, though we personally prefer the one at Atul Bakery. The highlight of the meal was definitely the Dahi Puri — probably the best we’ve ever had! Perfect balance of flavors and textures. The rest of the items were just okay — nothing bad, but nothing particularly memorable either. The service is a bit slow because I think they are short staffed but the staff is friendly and helpful. A good spot if you’re in the mood for Indian street food, especially their chaats.

It was our first time here. Large selection of items to choose from. We got sev puri, Bombay sandwich, peri peri frankie and dabang Vada pav. Loved the sandwich and the frankie. Sandwich was huge and loaded with amul cheese, frankie was nice tangy and spicy. Sev puri was average, the aloo had no flavor, could be better. Dabang Vada pav was ok, outer coating of the Vada was think, can improve there. Decor was cute and service was friendly.

Desi Adda in Indian Square is a hidden gem for Mumbai-style street food in Jersey City! The Bombay Vada Pav was spicy and flavorful, the Misal Pav was easily the best we’ve had, and the Peri Peri Frankie and Grilled Masala Sandwich hit all the right notes. The pani puri came with fun flavored waters — loved the khatta meetha! We ended with Kesar Pista and Sitafal shakes, both creamy and refreshing. Fast service and great vibes — a must-visit for desi food lovers!❤️

The closest you can get to Indian taste food. The best variety for all time street food. You cannot get any better flavor panipuri in USA. All of this plus super friendly staff that caters to your specific tastes and needs.

This cute little "hole in the wall" is truly a hidden gem! While in reality, it's no hole in the wall at all. You actually feel like you're in a small shop in India when dining-in with the colorful decorations, background music and overall setup of the restaurant. Not to mention the food, which was absolutely amazing! Very tasteful chaat and small dishes, each with it's own little twist. I got: -masala chai -mango lassi -Chinese Frankie (get it on a paratha) -Chili Cheese Corn Grilled Sandwich -to top it off, get their Chocolate Pan - it was bomb! EVERYTHING was 10/10. I loved the food so much, I get went again the next day. Ask for Ajay or Shubham - very friendly folks who'll take great care of you while there!

Had an absolutely wonderful time at the panipuri competition with my amazing colleagues! Great vibes, friendly rivalry, and delicious flavors all around. A perfect mix of fun, food, and teamwork! And at the end, the chocolate pan was amazing – a sweet surprise to wrap it up. I would recommend this to anyone visiting – you’ll definitely want to go again and again!
