When arriving at Dessirier we are greeted by a smiling man in an apron at the door. This impression of bonhomie is the last warm, personal impression we will have of this very disappointing restaurant.
It's one thing to treat American tourists badly; that's common, and indeed we were taken for tourists (we have lived in Paris and speak French) and were rudely treated - the waiter did not even bother telling us the specials, and we would not have known they existed if we had not seen the board shown to others, long after we had ordered our meal.
Perhaps those specials were better than the average meal we were served.
This is also the sort of place where the first wine recommended is 750 euros, and where the waiter turned up his nose when we "only" ordered a 250 euro bottle.
Beyond the horrendous rudeness, this is just not a welcoming place nor worth your time in a city full of great dining options. I'm sure the cold, officious, stuffy feel is intended to create an impression of a temple of fine dining, but for that, the food must actually be spectacular. The food at Dessirier is adequate.
There is an excellent selection of Bretagne and Normandy oysters, and the soufflé is lovely; that's the best I can say, but the service and overall feeling ruins those high points.
Choose elsewhere - you can do so much better in Paris.
