DESTIHL, listen… I need to talk about the potato croquettes... Those that come with the bacon & sausage breakfast sandwich. Don’t get me wrong, the sandwich is delicious. Solid. Reliable. Living its best life. But the croquettes?? ABSOLUTELY OUT OF THIS WORLD!!! They are crispy little bites of heaven that deserve their own fan club. I respectfully (but passionately) request that they never ever ever be discontinued and that they become a side option with anyyyyy food on the menu. Beer? Yes. Burger? Obviously. Salad? Don’t judge me. Tacos? Why not? In summary: amazing food, space, vibes, great beer, but please give the croquettes the spotlight they deserve 😃🤤

Waited a long time to visit central IL, but it was worth it. Great range of high-quality beers, including a range of ABVs. To-go beer and merch are a great deal. Amazing destination space. Would gladly return.

Different kind of place. Big hall with lots of high-top tables and a few normal ones. High-top high-chair at the table next to us. Haven’t sent one of those before. Plenty of beer choices that change. Solid food program and I tend to order pizzas when I’m there. Of note: you either order at the bar or via your phone. The phone thing didn’t work so I had to go to the bar. People run food and drink orders but don’t actually serve you beyond the time of delivery. Unless you run a tab, you are giving a gratuity when you order. The setup is confusing.

Amazing food and atmosphere! We got the thai tuna rice bowl, schnitzel a la holstein and chicken flautas. The Chicken Flautas appetizer came with 3 pieces. Very crispy and delicious. Be careful, the jalpeno peppers on top pack a punch! The Thai Tuna Rice Bowl was so fresh and had such big pieces of tuna. There was definitely strong thai tastes in the rice. Highly recommend! The Schnitzel A La Holstein had a fried egg and 2 pieces of schnitzel. The breading was very crispy and the meat was very tender. The spaetzle pasta was deliciously paired with cabbage. Also highly recommend! I will be coming back!

I've been to countless breweries and this is the best I've ever been to. All of the 11 beers we tried were fantastic without any bitter or other aftertaste. Didn't try the food but it looked good. Place is huge. We were there in January for a state high school competition so it was cold but the outdoor seating looks good for warmer weather months. If you have to be in Bloomington and like beer this is a must stop.

This place does not disappoint! Had the Chmichurri Pork Torta and it was just absolutely delicious. I recommend it if you get a chance!

How do you destihl visting a place into words and photos? Destihl brewery is my 601 place visited and what better way to kick off the 600 places visited than with a beer and a sandwich. Emily has been wanting to come back here for awhile now and it's been on my list for years now, so when we finally got some free time to roam out of our hometowns, we hit the highway for Normal. We stopped first and fueled ourselves up on coffee at The Coffeehouse & Deli before settling in at Destihl for some hopefully delicious beer and food. I've never seen photos of this place but as we approached, I was blown away by the sheer size of the building and how flat everything around it was. You can't not notice it when driving in the area. We pulled up and noticed this place was also extra busy due to graduation day for ISU. Not only that but Emily noticed there was a wedding going on in the back area of the brewery. Walking in the front doors, the inside greets you with the same sense of "awww" as the outside does. The interior isn't deep but the eating and bar area are vast. To your left seems to be a bunch of tables for groups and the bar is to the right for individuals or couples to sit at. I didn't go beyond the front doors and where I sat at the bar so I can't say if there is more than what you can see from where you walk in. Fortunately for us, we snagged some seats on an empty end of the bar. The bartenders got us our drinks (me a Hefeweizen and Emily a peach beer) and let us peruse the menu while our stomachs rumbled. When the bartender took our order, he also took our phone number. Their system texts you when your food is ready and you go pick it up at the kitchen area. Emily grabbed our meals so I didn't get a good view of the pickup area. But what a neat system. I'll be honest, it was hard to not chug my beer and order more. One, I was driving so I wanted to be safe. Two, the price of the beer was a bit higher than expected from my experiences from other breweries... but damn, was it worth it. My beer, the Weissenheimer, was one of the best hefeweizen I've ever had. Emily got a strawberry blonde ale and a peach beer. I really dug the strawberry blonde ale and while I don't typically go out of my way for peach, I have to give it credit for being tasty. My meal of choice was the Spicy Chicken sandwich with the chips and Em got the Green Fried Tomato BLT special with potato wedges. For how busy it was, our food was ready relatively quick. Or maybe it seemed quick because I had half my beer on an empty stomach and was feeling the effect instantly. When Emily placed the food down in front of us, I instantly knew the quality of the food matched the quality of the beer. At $14.25 for a sandwich, it tasted every bit of that much money and then some. While I do personally prefer a kick to my spicy foods, this one as more of a simmering hot. It never made me want to reach for a glass of water but it did let you know it was there. The chips were good, but those kind of generic thin sliced potatoes that are deep fried? Not my favorite style of chip but still tasty none the less. I tried one of the potato wedges and wished I got those instead but I do confess I have a soft spot for them. As we sat there, letting our food and beer settle, I was struck with the desire to sit there and sip on hefeweizens all day. It looked gloomy-ish out. It was a quiet saturday for both of us outside of traveling and the energy in the brewery was hectic but chill (if that makes sense). There was a guy sitting a seat over from us doing just that. Sipping beer, watching the sports on tvs and just vibing with the day. But alas that will have to be for another day. As we left, more people were piling in so we must've dipped out right as the dinner crowd was starting to come in. We were commenting on the green truck as we strolled out and Emily had the great idea for the photo you see at the top of this post. Even considering how busy it was and there being a wedding, the parking lot was more than spacious for how many people were there. So, if you come here, don't worry about parking being an issue. A day later, I am still craving more of that beer. Luckily they sell it around central Illinois and there is no shortage of beer stores around here to try and find it for enjoyment at home. But... if you visit the brewery AND find a beer you love AND don't live in the general area, you can get Growlers (crowlers?) to go or even get 6-packs from fridges near the front entrance. I really regret not grabbing some on my way out but I can see myself coming back here again and again.

Attended a wonderful Budtender Event at this location with my boyfriend, hosted by Cresco! Absolutely great vibes, clean environment overall and loved the atmosphere! Food served was amazing and the open bar was as well, all of the workers gave a top notch customer service experience! The outdoor area was open with our vendors for glassblowing and open consumption, and the dab bar was a hit with plenty of room for socializing. The view outside was marvelous as well and they had string lights for a relaxed nighttime vibe! 10/10 would recommend and I'm sure the restaurant is just as amazing!

Stopped here for lunch on the way back to St Louis from Chicago. We love to check out breweries. At first glance, the food looked a little pricey. However, once we ordered we realized filling and good quality was. I got a veggie wrap and added tofu to it. It was absolutely delicious and way more filling than most vegetarian options offered at lunch places. My partner was really happy with his flatbread pizza as well. I tried some the crust, it was very yummy with a corn meal texture. Also tried some drinks, I fell in love with their hard cider. It was really nice that they had a few options other than beer like cider, seltzer, and I think they even had some cocktails. The staff is very nice and it was super easy to order, you could choose between ordering from a person and ordering from a kiosk. The space was really big, very beautiful outdoor area next to a pond.

Where do I start...I should have left a review last year when my wife and I enjoyed the best year of our lives at Destihl Brewery getting married. Where better to spend our 1st year anniversary than the place we said "I Do". The food, service and ambience is unmatched. We just finished eating here and the food was OUTSTANDING. Burgers and the appetizers are delicious and the drinks just top it off. Chef Jacob has it going on here and GM Monica provides you with the most welcoming experience.

Stepping into Destihl Brewery for dinner was a GAME-CHANGER. Even though I don't drink beer, this place has great family vibes and a ton of awesome food choices. Their ordering setup was dope - just hit up one of their ordering kiosks, enter your phone number, and wait for that text to pick up your grub. After some serious menu contemplation, I went for the BBQ brisket tacos, a slice of milk chocolate caramel cake, and a lemonade to wash it down. Let me tell you, those BBQ brisket tacos were straight FIRE. Tender brisket, killer flavor, and the BBQ sauce on the side took it to a whole new level. Crunchy, flavorful - it was everything. And that milk chocolate caramel cake? It was like a slice of heaven. Fluffy cake, rich chocolate, and that caramel swirl? Chef's kiss. Props to the staff too - super chill and friendly vibes all around. Plus, they've got their own merch shop, which is pretty cool. Already planning my next trip back to Destihl Brewery to try more of their bomb options. THIS PLACE IS A MUST IF YOU ARE IN THE AREA!

It was the perfect evening to sit outside and enjoy all Destihl has to offer. The outside seating area provides great places for groups to gather. You have both shade and options where you can enjoy the sun. The self service inside to get your beverages and food were easy to navigate. I went with something a little different than my typical order. I tried the Dill Pickle Sour beer. It was definitely interesting but not one I could chug quickly! For dinner I went with the Salsa Verde Pork Tacos. The portion was better than most taco options and the flavor was good.

Love this place! New find for me, but absolutely great. Service was amazing, beer was excellent, and the appetizer we ordered was very tasty. We left with a case of sour beers and swag! The staff is amazing too. Great service. They definitely checked all the boxes! We'll be back on our next road trip this way!

Great ambiance. We sat outside and enjoyed viewing the birds flying over the pond across from our table. They have a wide variety of beers brewed in -house. I particularly liked the West Coast IPA. My wife and daughter both enjoyed hazy IPAs. There food is also point. I had the Spicy Chicken Sandwich, which was delicious and spicy. My wife ordered the Fish Tacos and Coleslaw, both were well presented and delicious. We finished with the Soft Pretzel, just amazing. It's a self serve beer hall but staff is extremely helpful and there's always someone there to answer questions and clean up after you.

Great food, outside seating, and overall vibe. Nice place for a casual date night. Tried burger and spicy chicken sandwich and both were solid.

My family and I stopped at Destihl brewery on our way to the Chicago suburbs for lunch and some beer. The space was large with tons of high top tables, a fireplace, and a big bar to order beer and buy merch at. My husband and I split pork tacos and street corn pizza. Both were delicious! We couldn't decide which to get so we got both to share! My dad got the grilled cheese sandwich and chips, and my mom got a salad. They both enjoyed their food, although they didn't love the chips. The chips are gose chips, which I assume means they are either cooked in or seasoned with their gose beer somehow. They had a ton of beer on tap so I got a flight because I couldn't decide on just one! It was a really cold day so I got all dark beers. I got the dosdevanya (not sure if I spelled that correctly) aged in apple brandy barrels and that one was really good. I also got the dunkel, a dark ale, and another imperial stout. The apple brandy one was my favorite! I wish I lived closer to this brewery because I'd love to go back! If you're in the area, I recommend stopping in for food and beer.

Oh, I don't know . . . The absence of waiters is not a plus for me personally. Instead, one must break out a cell phone and scan a QR code on the table. You'd think that essentially writing down our order for them would get everything right, but no. To be truthful, they do have paper menus near the door, but apparently you still have to order the food over a phone. And then, I have to pay $16+ for a cold, decidedly bland burger? They are willing to serve cold pizza to my niece? Surely they can do better than that. I guess the tip we were prompted to give before seeing or tasting the food, or even talking to a person, was not enough to inspire good service or warm food. I've spent 50+ years believing that a tip is supposed to reflect good food and good service--not the other way around. Further, the default tip amount is 22%, simply for someone to walk your order out to the table. Is this what we are coming to, my fellow Americans? Fact: the potato salad with my burger was great! Their blackberry stout was also great, but at a dollar an ounce? When was the last time you were eager to pay for beer--albeit a great beer--at the rate of $12 a can? I liked the cheese curds, too--even cold as leftovers the next day. Further, the place was impressive and clean, so there is hope! Next time I am in town, I may give them another try, but it is pretty discouraging to feel like you are being gouged to death. As with many places these days, it is like they are just trying to squeeze as much money out of you as possible. I'm sorry to sound like a grumpy old man, but I think we all should call out erosion of normal standards, even in Normal, Illinois.

Really unique menu and loved everything I ate here! I definitely get why it's so busy. I would recommend this place for any occasion- we went here on a double date but I can see it being a good family outing or get together place for your work crew.

Here is another location of this local brewery with a nice atmosphere. It's more like a beer hall than a brewery, so it's good for the whole family it seems. Destihl has a couple locations in Normal, with this one being the more casual feeling. Here they do the brewing, with many beers that are available as well as a full food menu. The prices seem to be okay on the beer and high on the food for the most part. At lunch we came in. It was already busy which was a good sign at least. This place opens pretty early, so people must really want a drink badly or something. It's about $6 for a pint. They had a ton to choose from, tons. I had the Oengus Irish Stout, which is a dry one. This has a light alcohol content, and is smooth. As for the food our options were limited because most things have meat such as chicken. The few vegetarian choices included the Herb And Garlic Hummus. It's about $11 for a pretty big amount. This came with tons of stuff including arugula, chimichurri, cucumbers, feta, which we left off, heirloom cherry tomatoes, lemon zest, mint, olives, peppadews, and red cabbage, and there was also naan. A lot to eat. This was good for later. Good place for beer if not always food. It has most of the same menu as at the other location. This one is the best for those looking for a more casual feel and those who like to go to farmers markets and look through some locally made things.

Came here with the hubby for lunch on Easter. I had the Chicken lunch and the hubby had the Chicken sandwich. The chicken was absolutely delicious!! Juicy and flavorful! The lemon CORN bread was my favorite!! The service was friendly and informative. The prices are average. The entire restaurant and brewery was beautiful and interesting. Lots to look at. We had a very nice time. We will definitely be making THIS place a regular stop on our rotation. Especially for chicken!

We enjoyed the food, service, and ambiance. Our server was friendly, knowledgable and attentive. Ambiance was topnotch because of the decor and the music was good and not too loud. Loved all the windows and the seating was comfy. I felt relaxed and comfortable. Really enjoyed the Big Drop Coba Maya Lager Non Alcoholic beer, definitely the best NA beer I have tried. And how cool that there were 4 NAs to choose from. The only slight issue is we ordered the gumbo soup --which had fantastic flavor and ingredients --but it was barely lukewarm. The menu had an incredible variety of yummy items. We had a very hard time choosing which was a good thing!

Neat brewery with better than average food. There is plenty of parking here inside a large facility with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, and merchandise available for purchase. The line for getting beer is quite long, but it's not difficult to order food from the kiosk if you're looking for a bite. My earlier experiences with Destihl where in the Champaign location and the items I tried here weren't quite as good but i was still satisfied with my meal. The flat iron burger and chips were in line with what you'd expect from most restaurants, but the reuben pizza was actually quite flavorful with a delicious crust. At around $10 it was easily enough to feed people and full of a generous amount of meat. The chocolate caramel cake was also fairly taste though a bit pricey for the portion size. Overall, not a bad place to stop by for some food and drink and a place to hang out for a while.

I'm a masker avoiding disease and they were so accommodating, sitting me out on the empty patio but still remaining extremely alert and conscientious. When other people were seated on the patio I got a to go box and they were generous about letting me sit while I sat until I was ready to go. Great food, excellent beer, and generous, considerate staff. A wonderful experience. Thank you!

Went there yesterday evening to sit outside and enjoy the beautiful evening and there was a band playing. The music was so loud we couldn't talk to each other, we could not go inside because we brought our dog with and he was agitated because of the very loud music. We tried to sit there and after about 10 minutes nobody coming around to wait on us and it being way too loud we decided to leave and go somewhere else. The kind of music being performed would have been great background music but not so loud you couldn't even enjoy the music, very distorted. Not very pet friendly like advertised, also so loud if we didn't have a dog still would have left. This could be a good place to go and relax and have a nice meal if they didn't have bands that don't know how to control the volume. Very Disappointed!

So glad to have this in BloNo area. One of the staples in this town with great beer and excellent food.

Get the chicken sandwich. I usually just tell you if it's good-or not. But this is the real deal sandwich and my wife wishes she had ordered instead of tacos with cucumbers. That's just plain dumb. Sour beers are why I also come here. And to get them to go back with me to Texas.

I had an amazing experience at dinner this evening. The saag paneer and pizza were excellent, the beer was delicious, and the ambiance was relaxed and fun. The gas fireplace was cozy on a chilly evening. I live over an hour away, but will definitely travel to come back soon.

We had friends in town from Massachusetts, and so we met them down state to try Destihl. While I'm a fan of their beverages and restaurant in Champaign-Urbana, I wasn't a huge fan of this one. While itv was huge and cool looking, it was too chaotic to try and get a table inside. We opted to eat outside and then it poured rain on us and our food. We ended up tossing it all, but what we did eat was tasty!! Cheese curds and grilled cheese were my choices. I recommend. I just feel the whole ordering setup was frustrating for us. Maybe it was just too busy when we went. I do recommend giving it a chance though if you already know you like Destihl beverages. Look at that awesome rainbow on our way out!

Tasted 5 beers, had a grilled cheese and bought merch. All were great. Especially the grilled cheese. We rated all the beers we tasted between a 3.5 - 4.0 out of 5. Beautiful building and outdoor space.

We have visited a lot of different breweries this one is top of the line with it's wide open space it sits on a pond with seating to enjoy it with both indoor and outdoor seating. It is large in size but very welcoming with the wood. What I saw of the food looked delicious and definitely worth a return trip it's located in a University town so a great place for visiting families

Met some family from Chicago here - a good halfway spot for me. Loved how easy it was to get to from the expressway. We met for lunch, and I just love it here. The space is huge, very nice to sit in for a couple hours, feels like a brewery in a much bigger city. Service was fine - not really notable as you order at the counter, but everything was great - good food, great beer, definitely recommend.

We make a point of stopping here whenever on route from Chicago to St. Louis. It's SO GOOD! First, know that they're doing a good job with COVID-19 safety and sanitation. We visited in July 2020 and most people were out on the socially distant picnic tables. We opted to go inside to enjoy the A/C. The tables to not use were easily avoidable/marked off. Not an issue at all to be socially distant in there. Plus, super high ceilings so the air is circulating. When you go in, they have the spots marked every 6 feet for when you're in line. There was just one guy working at the bar, but that gave us time to figure out what to get to eat and drink. Thankfully, they still have a pretty big menu to choose from. I got a single patty burger and side salad. It was perfect for me. Not too much food and I left full. All of their food that I've had before has been great. Where they really shine, though, is with the beer (duh!). We tried the Strawberry Blonde this time and LOVED IT! Two crowlers came with us in addition to a whole bunch of others (Wild Gose Key Lime Pie, Wild Gose Pina Colada, Lawnmower, and Hazy IPA). It's always fun to stop by and try something new. The only part that stinks is that they can't offer samples or flights right now. It's packaged beer to go or 12 or 16 ounce glasses for there. Not a big deal, but worth noting. Totally understandable! :)

You just have to try the Milk Stout Mocha. A newest awesome take on a stout beer. A great place to enjoy unique craft beers, with a relaxed social environment.

Service is always TERRIBLE. As long as you know that before you go, you will enjoy it. Food is amazing.

I prefer their other location by far. This is all self serve. You can scan the bar code to pull up menus for food or beer. You can order at the bar. When your food is ready you get a text to go to the pick up window to go get it. The menu at this location is small compared to the other location. I had a turkey and havarti club sandwich and it was good. Had their potato salad as a sife and it was delicious. Drank a Hawaii 50 ale. Also delish. I'm just not a fan of the whole self serve concept.

Beautiful venue for a wedding. The ceremony was right outside but was right next to chairs and tables where the public was sitting so was a little of a strange setup. The food was sooo delicious! Not sure if the menu at the reception was something that was available on the regular food menu but it definitely should be. The barrel room was stunning and perfect for pictures.

Several reviews complained about ordering from a kiosk. That is an option. You can order from the staff. The food and several of the bees were outstanding. Hannah and Renee were a hilarious 1-2 punch behind the bar.

We always have an enjoyable time when we go here. The food is excellent and they have music on the weekends. It's a relaxed atmosphere and yet festive at the same time.

Excellent food. We were in BloNo for the Corvette show and wandered out to the brew house. Pizza with pepperoni and meatballs was so good. Crust was herby and sauce was sweet, meatballs had a nice spice to them as did the pepperoni. So good. Fried fish and potato wedges were equally delicious. Batter was light and not greasy and potato wedges were crispy on the outside and hot/soft inside. Beers and wine were refreshingly delicious! Always a good place for a meal when in town.

We have been coming in here one to two times a week for over 3 years. Last 2 of 5 visits. Our food sat at counter and got ice cold. Always great. Until recently. Cold burger and pizza really sucks on a rainy cold day. Second visit where we received no text to tell us it was ready. Had to go looking for our food. We were one of two tables left in the entire place. Fool me once l shame on you, Two times shame on me. Will not be back for awhile. Sadly. We spend a lot here. We buy all our beer for family out of town. Oh well tons of breweries out there. Hello @Analytical Brewing and @Maplewood. It will be worth the drive compared to this If i can give minus stars I would. How do I know if I get my rewards points.

My husband and I stopped in last weekend during our road trip to Wisconsin. Not used to a service style like the one at Destihl, but I didn't mind it as our bartender Darien was excellent! He recommend a beer to both of us that we loved. We actually let him pick us a flight after those and everything we tried was awesome. This brewery is awesome we will be back whenever we are in the area!

What an amazing Midwest brewery, first off it is huge and the selection of brew! They are really growing fast and it is fun to see. The atmosphere is great and it is fun to chill outside and watch the ducks on the lake. It really is a great addition to the Bloomington/normal area. Great work guys. I will return!

We love Destihl and love the special entrée menu. After spending the past 2 weekends in NOLA, I was excited to see crawfish on the menu! This Cajun shrimp and crawfish dish was delicious. Save your bread to wipe your plate clean of the buttery Cajun spices. Hurry to Destihl before it's gone...

Really great menu, super delicious and unique flavors. Very accommodating to our young family and great value for the price. We were just passing through on a road trip but will make a point to go back next year.

It's a nice place, great atmosphere. Food- 0/10.... I don't recommend anything on the menu. Very bland & just a waste on money on this. Cold tea- delicious, make sure to ask for however many packets of sugar you want if you like it sweet. Beer- it's ok...

This is a fun place to meet with friends or a group outing. There are many tables, high-tops and larger tables. I was with a group of 14. We ordered many appetizers and small plates. Everything was good. I especially enjoyed the queso fundido and cheese curds. Also liked the buffalo-style chicken wings and beer-battered asparagus Of course the beer menu is extensive. Service was good and the atmosphere was terrific. I'm giving it 4 stars because they only had one cider, which was tasty, but I would have expected a few more options

Fantastic atmosphere, leveled-up brew experience, on point service, original and secret-sauce-esk menu but lacking value on serious points. Our trio tried a few ales and beers and enjoyed the samples and even more the proper choices following. Turns out I really enjoy the sour ale! However the dishes, fish n chips and Thai Chicken Curry were both extremely expensive for the amount of food. Any typical restaurant selling out their morsels at $12 and $14 would be leaving leftovers for us normal sized guys but not here. Both entrees were downed, real tasty and going with that fresh local fare flair they brag about but had us flummoxed at the suddenly empty plate and still empty feeling in the midsection. Real bummer cuz this place has a lot going for it!

I have been here a few times and have always enjoyed the beer selection. It's a great place with a cool atmosphere. I love the little lake outside too. But the best part of my last trip was their tofu sandwich. Seriously, it was the best ever. I've been trying to replicate it ever since I got back to Chicago. My meat eating son even loved it. So glad that restaurants like this one are acknowledging that there are more plant-based people every day. Bravo!

Opening day! We took the $7 tour which includes 4 samples and souvenir pint glasses. WOW! I was blown away with the level of technology. This place is first class, top notch! I'm so impressed and proud of this new brewery. This will put BloNo on the beer map for sure! I'm not a huge sour beer fan and that is Destihl's niche. However, they have a wide variety of other styles on their menu (25 on tap). And the food. ...don't miss the Gose chips. Also, LOVED the battered, fried Giardinara veggies and the chimichurri pork hand pie.

This brewery was adorable, almost as cute as my date. The beer was great and a flight was pretty cheap, and I left pretty messed up. That's always a plus. They had a shop with a lot of different items from shirts to hat, stickers, patches; you name it. It was great. I live in Arizona, but I will be back and can't wait!

Beautiful brewery with a gorgeous patio out in Normal, IL (2.5 hrs away from STL). Specialize in tart sour beers, but have other beer varieties as well as solid food options. My friend and I split a pretzel, a pepperoni and sausage pizza, and their fried chicken. All of the food was solid, but the fried chicken was definitely the star of the show. Their beers are a little too tart for me, but they are my friend's favorite.
