I had the kindest experience here today. My grandson has swim lessons in this mall and we had an hour after school to wait. My daughter said he would enjoy a streamed milk from the coffee shop but it was closed. Walked a bit over to Detour. : )
The man was so kind to change up a machine to make a steamed milk and we chose an almond croissant. I got a tea. I love spending time with this kid and I didn't realize at the moment I had walked into a little piece of heaven.
My 3-1/2 yo asked the man what he was doing for Easter (so random and cute)and the man took a pause, looked at me, smiled and had a lovely conversation with with this child. We then sat at a table and my boy said the croissant "is so delicious!"
His milk was a bit hot and I felt a bit bothersome asking for some cold milk and he didn't even pause. Gave me the jug and let ke take care of it and my boy said "just right!"
Such a nice time. A haven. Then the man gave us a couple of little cinnamon rolls and my boy lit up.
Thinking about it as I'm at the end of my day, this was one of those precious moments, perfect. The man in the shop was truly interested. Proud of his shop. Kind. Patient. Felt like home. Maybe he is the owner. He acted like it, humbly.
In a world in chaos, some other difficult events in my life, my heart hurts and so needed time with my sweet boy. And this little shop, with the delicious treats, attuned to this little one who is so special to me. It was like I entered a haven. He was so kind. Effortlessly.
I can't find a way to say how my heart feels so good tonight. All of it. I needed some little bit of magic. Thank you. Thank you so very much dear man.
