Google
Great local Detroit style pizza shop. I’ve gone a few times and their pizza is consistently good. They have a delicious crispy crust, and sauce. Takeout is fast! Only reason for 4 stars is I wish the crust was a little fluffier and less dense. My favorite Detroit style has been those that are a little lighter. Overall though really solid place and I will be back!

Google
I enjoyed the crispy burnt edges and undercarriage. For Detroit style I expected it to be thicker. It tasted more like cheesy bread sticks. Is this a must drive to... no. Sauce was ok. The dough wasn't airy. I have a feeling that the pepperoni pizza would be better than the plain cheese. 2 pizzas $38.25 w/tax.

Detroit Pizza Company in Brighton’s Oak Square is a welcome addition to the pizza offerings in the Boston area. While designed for takeout, there is a tiny seating area. The prices are reasonable and competitive. The pizza was delicious, and we also had a tasty and healthful Greek salad to balance out the meal. The staff is hardworking and efficient at getting orders out quickly. The place serves Detroit-style pizza, which has been around for decades but has taken off nationwide in the last decade. From what I could divine, the deep-dish style pizza’s toppings are placed on the pizza after the baking, and it is a fresh, welcome alternative to the usual pizza styles at the chain places. Most of the orders are take-out, and the place is perched across from historic Oak Square in the Brighton neighborhood section of Boston fairly close to the Newton line.

I live a long way from this store, but one night I paid an Uber to deliver the pizza in the photos. I don’t know how else to tell you, but this was the most delicious food I have ever eaten. It was like Heaven in a box. I couldn’t believe how tasty it was. Just thinking about how good it was makes me want to order another one. This store is open late and this particular pizza was thick pan, with a decadent selection of cheese, pineapple slices, perfectly cooked chunks of high quality bacon, topped with a nice drizzle of hot honey. It was like when Guy Fieri says flavor town. Just an explosion of magnificent flavors. God bless the person who made this pie. They deserve a big raise lol I couldn’t recommend this place more; this is the best pizza I’ve eaten in 46 years!

I’ve been looking for the perfect deep dish pizza for 15 years... I can stop looking now, it’s at Detroit Pizza Co. Those crunchy edges…Molto Bene!!

Google
The reviews are all true: the sauce is delicious, the slices are very filling (2 felt like enough for me, and there are 8 in a box), and the crispy cheese edges are perfection. We tried the Little Italy (chicken parm) and a sausage pizza, and I was so impressed by the flavor of the sausage. I’m still talking about it days later-it’s very well flavored. The dough is light, which allows the toppings to shine. My friends and I were already talking about when we would go back before we were finished despite still having half a box of leftovers. It’s really that good. I have to admit that I was skeptical of this place when they first opened. I’m a big pizza fan but also very critical of a good pie. I thought the cost was a bit pricey, even for Boston. I have never been so happy to be wrong-it’s delicious and worth every penny. I feel so lucky to have this place in Brighton-who knew we needed Detroit Style pizza in Boston?

Who knew Detroit and Boston could unite for something this incredible? Last night, I tried the Detroit Supreme, and it was a crispy, cheesy masterpiece blending Motor City precision with Beantown charm. The crust? Thick, crispy perfection. It’s Detroit-style engineering with the warmth of a Boston winter night by the fire. Henry Ford himself would’ve applauded. And those toppings? A flawless combo of their cheese blend, fresh tomato sauce, cup & char pepperoni, sausage, onion, and green pepper. Every bite was a perfect medley of smoky, savory, and sweet—like the culinary version of the Celtics and Pistons playing nice. This wasn’t just pizza; it was an edible symphony. Can’t recommend this pizzeria enough. Enjoy!

I’m originally from the 313 and was shocked to see a Detroit style pizza place in Massachusetts, so I knew I had to give it a try. Ordered the Motor City Roni and chicken strips and it reminded me of home. The pepperoni are curly, which is how you know your pizza has been cooked the right way back home. They offer sides of ranch (obviously). Any native Michigander would agree: this is the real deal! I’ll definitely be ordering again.

Yelp
Now we heard about this spot from a good buddy, we've walked by this spot multiple times. Detroit never screamed out to me as a pizza spot you know like NY or Chicago style etc. I must say i am thrilled to finally come in to try a slice with the lady! We definitely are getting a whole pizza next time around. We grabbed a slice of honey hot pepperoni with marinara sauce. (Now i think it was just roni-with marinara) but it was crispy, hot, flavor bursting and the DOUGH, i could sit there and eat the dough by itself! So dang good. Has that nice texture and flavor you just want to go buy another slice. Quick and easy, no frills shop, minimal seating. Definitely coming back for more!

Yelp
Only ever ordered via Door Dash so take that into account. Have had the cheese pizza which is Detroit style so you need to know it's a little oily to get that crisp on the edges. These guys did it nicely. It was NOT greasy. Also had chicken fingers, Caesar salad and meatball app. Chicken had nice clean flavors and the batter is tasty. Would prefer more dipping sauce choices but the chicken is good. Caesar salad is also very good and I'm pretty sure they're doing a traditional dressing with anchovy paste. Meatballs were tender but didn't have as much flavor.

Yelp
The wings were soggy and chewy. Pizza crust is good so is the cheese and pepperoni. But the sauce dumped on top is worse than prego..

Eugene W.

Yelp
We got the Detroit Supreme. Very solid pizza. Crust is nice and crisp. Pepperoni and sausage are delicious. Pricing is pretty standard. This is a takeout place, so there's no seating. Service is fast and friendly. Pizza was a little too greasy, though. I think I like Jet's slightly better, but there isn't a Jet's in the area. This still satisfied my Detroit-style pizza craving!

Yelp
No frills Detroit style pizza joint. No really, there's not even wall art up or somewhere to sit and eat inside, but that's honestly the vibe. Just order some food and carry on enjoying it. :) They're new to Oak Square, and stay open late Thursday - Saturday night. Good eats? And open late? A win win. Although they are closed on Sundays. FYI when you order a pizza, it's 1 size only. No problemo for us. These pizzas are so good and the size is plenty to fill you up. Parking can be a toss-up but that's no biggie. There's some version of street parking available in Oak Square. And by that I mean you'll probably wait 5 min max if you drive around looking for a spot. Highly recommend trying them out!

Dan M.

Yelp
Ha. These high review marks have to be planted. The pizza is very average and very oily. There is no crust, just a burnt edge. It has to be the most expensive pizza in the Boston area: large mushroom and a Greek salad was $56 delivered, and we live 4 blocks from the Oak Sq. Store!!! Save your money... lots of pizza options in Brighton!!

Diana L.

Yelp
Delivery order I can't vouch for Detroit style authenticity so this is just me enjoying a good pizza. I ordered the"Forget about it" pizza - good! Makes great leftovers. Will try pepperoni one next.

Suzy Q.

Yelp
I dont know how this place is rated well; its pretty difficult to deliver a pizza that starving people dont want because its not good...like nearly impossible. The pizza was doughey, ans the amount of BOTH sauce and cheese was sparce at best - the pepporinis themselves were good!??? Anyway threw mist away, wah wah.

David L.

Yelp
This place is absolutely amazing! Ordered here twice, first time we got the broccoli and chicken Alfredo pizza and second now the OG buffalo chicken. The dough is airy with a perfect crisp crust. Can't wait to try all their pizzas!

Renaud L.

Yelp
Excellent pizza, well worth the price. Definitely would recommend the pepperoni pie but the cheese is also just as good.

Alan C.

Yelp
I got Delivery today from the Detroit pizza company on Washington Street in Brighton near Oaks Square. Detroit style pizza resembles Sicilian pizza but the cheese is put down and the sauce is on top of the cheese. Overall, I thought the pizza was pretty good the sauce and cheese were flavorful. and the crust on the edges was nice and crispy. I think the bottom of the pizza could've been a little more crispy as well but I enjoyed the pizza and I will most likely get it again. I got the basic cheese is that is my go to to try a new pizza place I also got the chicken wings they were just OK they could've been a little crispier in the sauce I got the honey barbecue was eh . Not sure I'll get the wings again but I do want to try the pepperoni pizza I think it's a specialty.

Gaby S.

Yelp
Ordered for delivery from DoorDash and it was worth every penny. We got the pepperoni pizza with ranch drizzle. The crust was amazing, not too thick and corners had great crisp. The ranch was the perfect consistency and was a great touch. I bet it would be even better eating in person, which is hard to imagine since it was so tasty.

Issam H.

Yelp
My fiancée and I tried Detroit Pizza Co. for the first time last night and it's safe to say we will be absolutely ordering again. The quality of their food was incredible. We got the OG buffalo chicken pie and it was the best we ever had. The Cesar salad was also super fresh. All around great dinner!

Ethan S.

Yelp
Nice alternative to the pizza you find around Brighton. Zero atmosphere in the restaurant, so takeout is your best option. Have been here 3-4 times and the pizza is consistently good.

Paul B.

Yelp
Fredo Corleone pizza sounds great but...Menu says $28 order shows $34 for one large pizza!!!

Ashley H.

Yelp
We are from Buffalo and are tough pizza critics-we tried this pizza on vacation and loved it! Would definitely recommend!

Shalom T.

Yelp
I tried this pizza recently, and I have to say, while the delivery through Ubereats was quick, I found the pizza to be overpriced and disappointing in quality. The crust tasted pre-made and lacked the freshness that I was hoping for. The pizza is also very greasy in a "heartburn" way. Furthermore, the toppings were poorly combined and reminded me of school lunch pizzas. The cheese and sauce were the only decent aspects. In my opinion, there is a lot of room for improvement in terms of the dough and ingredient combination to truly enhance the pizza experience. Anytime your order is ready in minutes, something is wrong...

Abigail S.

Yelp
I really like this spot! Boston doesn't have enough of this sorta pizza and I'm excited it's in oak square :) I also really liked their side dishes like the curly fries

Riley S.

Yelp
the truth is, this pizza isn't bad! the further truth is, it is missing the perfect crunch like i know from my hometown detroit style pizza. i'm happy with it being a native michigander for the area. everyone was super nice when we picked up our pizza and it was prompt. excellent addition to brighton. just wish the prices were a bit cheaper!

Christina P.

Yelp
Ordered the pepperoni pizza a few weeks ago and it was absolutely amazing. Recommended it to everyone I knew. Today, I decided to order it again but added ricotta and hot honey. I was so excited to get it only to open the box and find my pizza completely smothered in watery ricotta. I could barely see the pizza, it was drenched. The bottom of the pizza was practically soggy from how runny the ricotta was and just ruined the whole thing. This was a $40 pizza. I was upset to say the least.

Dave G.

Yelp
What an awesome addition to the neighborhood. We got the Forget about It. Everything was super fresh. Of note was that the sausage appeared to be cooked whole from fresh sausage not the premade frozen sliced or crumbled stuff I've seen other places use. The outer edge was super crisp.

Brenna L.

Yelp
Had a run in with Uber eats stealing our food. Detroit Pizza has the kindest employees. Will be ordering from here again but will be picking it up-- to tip the real OGs

Warren r.

Yelp
Very happy to have a Detroit style pizza around town! Got a half cheese and half pepperoni. Was very vey good. Nice crispy edges. The only thing that detracts from this place is the hours. And closed on Sunday. Never heard of a pizza place closed on Sunday! They would be better off closing Monday and Tuesday than Sunday I'd think.

Yara W.

Yelp
SO GOOD! All of the ingredients were super fresh and the pizza was perfectly cooked. The buffalo chicken pizza is a must try

Thalia L.

Yelp
The best pizza around! So crispy and the sauce is sooooo goood!!! Would recommend, very filling!

C. D.

Yelp
Delicious. High quality ingredients. Travels well for delivery. The motor city roni is my favorite pepperoni pizza around.

Shane H.

Yelp
Very good Detroit Style Pizza. Pepperoni and Cheese both full of flavor. Great change of pace pie to add to your list!

Christopher R.

Yelp
In my opinion this is the best pizza in Brighton right now. Love the Detroit style. Crispy on the outside, lots of flavor, and a value for the money.

Michael ..

Yelp
This place is verrryyy good. Never had a Detroit style pizza before, so this was my first. Certainly not an expert on the topic. However, the pizza here is delicious. So tasty, so crunchy, lots of flavor.

Mark A.

Yelp
Excellent pizza! Crispy crust and fresh ingredients. I highly recommend Detroit Pizza Company. A very tasty pizza!

James L.

Yelp
Pricing is unacceptable , no parking and the pizza isn't that good. Also asking for tips unacceptable. It's a conveyor chain oven. ...not good

Aaron K.

Yelp
Went day 1, great service and awesome authentic Detroit style pizza. Good addition rather than typical Greek fast pizza in Brighton.
