Was treated to a pizza by a coworker. I decided to go with the Motor City Roni, which is the "Detroit Style" pepperoni.
Upon first glance I was scared by the excessive char on the crust and the amount of grease from the insane amount of pepperonis on the pizza. However, I was pleasantly surprised seeing this "Detroit" style pie had the sauce on top of everything instead of under the cheese.
That in tandem with the hefty amount of pepperonis made for a slightly messy bite, but I was ready for it, and so was the crust. The style of cooking allows for an extremely sturdy undercarriage, and incredibly cripsy and crunchy crust. While achieving this, the internal of the crust is still light and airy with a lasting crunch.
The slight down side is the price. $25 for a pepperoni pizza is crazy in my opinion, no matter what the style of pizza is. There are many pizza spots that get you 2 large pizzas at that price.
In conclusion, the pizza was great! I wish I lived closer to try more options, but if I'm ever in Brighton I want to come back for more.
