Detroit Pizza Islington Ltd

The pizza here is a deep-dish, tray-style baked with cheese around the edges which caramelises, it’s simply amazing. There’s a solid selection of beers, including Lucky Saint for a non-alc option. We shared the deep-fried lasagne as a starter, which was excellent, and finished with tiramisu. Given the location, it’s a great, affordable choice. Service was attentive, quick, and unfussy. Would definitely return.

Delicious Detroit style pizza. Dough was light, not too heavy. Good selection of starters (deep fried lasagne and chicken tenders were tasty). Friendly staff and relaxed vibe.

I had a meal one evening mid-week with a friend. We initially sat at the bar, but then our waiter moved us to a normal seating arrangement. I went for the Supreme Pizza, which came with Detroit cheese blend, pepperoni, beef, bacon, onions, peppers, olives, and parmesan. It arrived pretty quickly, which was surprising and temperature wise it was only luke warm. I'd never had Detroit pizza before, so I was keen to try it...my overall experience? It was a bit underwhelming if being honest, as I didn't really feel like it blew me away. It was okay. The toppings and the combination didn't work badly, and considering how thick the pizza was, it had a very light and airy dough, which meant I was able to finish it all. But for £16.99 I thought it was a bit pricey for what it was. As an Italian, I'm used something much different when it comes to pizza...I would eat there again, though as it filled an empty belly. Service was friendly and as it should be, and definitely worth a visit if you enjoy the american pizza scene in London...but only 3 stars for me.

Great pizza. Best detriot style pizza in London. I'm sure of it. Venue is large and is spread over 2 floors. They went with a American sports theme which is fitting. Some outside seating too for the summer. Staff were all pleasant. The staff bringing out the food was passionate about the food which is super, was excited for us to try the bespoke halal pizza they prepared for us. Only 2 ingredients is halal - mince meat and some chicken items. Staff are very clear what is halal and what isn't. Soft Drink options were mainly coke branded drinks but there was a lemonade drink that ticked the non genocidal category and was tasty. Seating was spread well and didn't feel too crowded. Price is on the upper side. But they are in Islington n1 in a large venue so I'm guessing bills are dear so it is what it is. They have a unique product. But I wouldn't price it any higher. Overall a great pizza.

Had a booking for a saturday night here for 2, we were seated quickly in a booth and service was prompt. We ordered a pizza and the chicken parm to share, the food was delicious and portion sizes were very generous so we got half the pizza to take away. Would recommend the ranch dip to have with your pizza! This place is great value and is really different for London, loved it!

OH MY GOD!!!! If you're debating whether to eat here... debate no more!!! I mean, it's often difficult to grab a table, as it's always that busy. But my God, it's worth sticking around for! Their pizzas are THE BEST pizzas to have ever passed my lips! Staff are great, friendly, and love their jobs. They're having fun and hosting with grace and humour. Great place to enjoy some astonishingly good pizza whilst catching up with friends. Also the beers real nice too! Great job Detroit!

We came here for an early dinner. I was craving really good spaghetti and meatballs and they did not disappoint. Probably the best I’ve ever had. The marinara sauce was perfection. Also tried the Maui Wowee which was a Hawaiian style pizza with pineapple and generous chunks of ham. The crust of the pizza was magical— not too heavy with a nice crunch from melted cheese. I have had Detroit pizza maybe once before and it wasn’t memorable. This definitely was. Ended with a tiramisu that our kids said was the best they’d ever had, and I’d have to agree. Can’t wait to come back.

Amazing food! We shared some starters (Deep Fried Lasagna and Gabagool) and one of their amazing vegetarian pizzas and everything tasted absolutely fantastic. The deep fried lasagna was something else and the pizza was so incredibly light and fluffy with a generous amount of toppings. Lots of veggie options as well which is nice to see. The staff was generally accommodating and friendly. However, we did feel a bit rushed throughout our visit unfortunately which is the reason why this is not 5 stars. They are very busy so it is understandable that they don’t want people to linger for ages and we did not book a table which is fair enough. But our starters practically came at the same time as the pizza and our table was very small, so we struggled with the space and by the time we had finished our starters and could try the pizza it had cooled down quite a bit already. This made it quite hard to enjoy and savour the food properly which is a shame because it was so tasty. Towards the end of our stay we were asked by three different waiters within five minutes if we wanted something else which just added to the feeling of being rushed. Overall definitely 5 stars for the food (prices are also reasonable), but it would have been nice to have a slightly more relaxing experience.
