I placed an order 11/13/24 - with an email confirmation that said: Just to let you know — we've received your order #9005, and it is now being processed:[Order #9005] (November 13, 2024) The shipping cost I paid for was as much as the individual product was. It is 12/8/24 and still have not received it. I have made repeated phone calls only for it to get disconnected each time. I have written through the 'contact us' web link on 12/3 and asked for my money to be refunded and have not heard back. I am not sure what is going on or if this company even exists anymore!

This company is terrible. Go literally anywhere else. First they put the wrong day for pickup and then blamed us, and charged us for the day. Then they closed early on the actual pickup day and told me that they aren’t actually open until their posted store hours. Charged us again. Customer service is a disaster. Never again.

I also ordered in November 2024 and never received my order. I am disputing the charge with my credit card company.

I called the store on a Tuesday at 12:30pm and nobody answered the phone. So I just drove to the store assuming they were busy and just didn't answer the phone. Nope. The store was closed and the store hours on the door state Mon-Fri 9am to 3pm. We have to do better.

This place is NOTHING like it used to be! Very limited products on display and what they do have is void of any pricing. If you can get one of the Diva's at the front counter to stop flipping their hair back you might get some help. While there I ask two questions about a particular type of popcorn I was looking for and their answer had NOTHING to do with my questions 🤦🤷 (enter Twilight zone theme here) I used to walk out of the original Detroit Popcorn on Telegraph spending hundreds...walked out of this one without spending a dime! VERY disappointed! To Amazon I go. It really is a shame.

Friendly customer service and great prices. I rented the popcorn machine for a graduation party. It was a big hit.

The Detroit Popcorn Company is a great place to visit.  There are two parking lots so getting in is very easy.  Both of them have good exits back out onto the street with good visibility.  They are kept in good order and clean.                 The Detroit Popcorn Company has a great variety of goods.  You can buy equipment from them or rent it for reasonable rates.  The equipment is kept in good condition, clean and comes with expert guidance on how to operate it.                 They offer a full selection of popcorn kernels and seeds.  Their selection of cotton candy is impressive.  Their Sno-Cone support materials are out of this world.  A wide variety of flavors is accompanied by cups, machines and other materials.                 They will deliver if the bill exceeds 150 dollars.                 Their service is first rate.  It is non-pressure, relationship.  I look forward to continue doing business with them.                 My favorite part of visiting is picking up a bag of fruit flavored popcorn.  They are as full of color as they are of flavor!

This place is AWESOME! So fun. I literally felt like a kid in a candy store. I believe it's primarily for equipment renting, which I never have done. But after this visit, I definitely want to come back and rent a snow-cone machine and like invite everyone I know and throw a party just for fun, because they seem to have everything to throw a real nice theme party. (On my bucket list now) I would have never thought to stop buy if I didn't see it on Groupon. But after that trip, I know I'll be coming back. It's typically $13 for a $25 Groupon. One random day they had a dollar deal going on and I got $25 for $1. Yes, ONE DOLLAR. I'm still surprised. I decided this would also be a fun little trip for my younger sister. So I took her and she enjoyed it as much as me. The place is pretty big, the employees were so nice and friendly. Especially the man at the register. The fruity corn was also really tasty and my family loved the caramel corn too! I think my popcorn cravings will be satisfied for a long while. Whether you like salty popcorn, sweet popcorn, or popcorn with a lil kick, this place will have you covered. Well I'm going to pop a corny joke...No one does it butter than you Detroit Popcorn Co! (Last one I promise) I'll be popping in again soon.

Super helpful. Delicious popcorn. Sold popped in 22oz, 3lb, and 5 lb (HUGE) bags to make your movie-for-a-crowd easy & awesome. After reading some reviews, I made sure to try my bag and it was delicious!!! Everything you need for your memorable party!! Good combo deal for cotton candy supplies. Look for coupon online or at Groupon, too. I found one for 20% off.

This is a super cool place and a must if you're throwing a themed party and need those extra details to really make it legit. You can rent so many things like popcorn machines, hot dog stands, nacho chili and cheese machines, slushie machines, and I'm pretty sure they have an entire circus somewhere in their catalog too! Just kidding! But this place can easily take your party to the next level. They also have food you can buy too like cheese and chili for the machines, cotton candy and my fave their popcorn! They have some of the best tasting buttery popcorn that are so big and fluffy. They also have it in cheese and caramel, that I am for sure going to have to mix one day. Every time I'm here I think of all the cool parties I could have and what all I would need for it. All of their products they rent are are pretty affordable too!

5 Star Service from the COO himself!! Ever since I can remember (about three decades) my family has celebrated special occasions with Detroit Popcorn. Now as a parent myself, my husband and I carry on that tradition. Today I stopped in DPC to buy a large bag or pre-popped buttered popcorn to serve at a family birthday party and wasn't able to find a bag in the usual location. A very friendly and professional gentleman greeted me and offered to help; I explained what I was looking for and he assured me he would take care of me and went to the back of the store. Less than a minute later he came back and said someone was bringing a bag of freshly popped product out for me. He explained they had a very large order of 4200 bags (yes, I confirmed that number was correct! It's not hard to believe if you've ever tasted how good this stuff is!) but that he managed to secure a bag for my family and I. I shared with him how grateful I was for his help and shared our family's tradition with him. It takes a special business and an extremely committed individual to value the business of one mom for a single bag of product as highly as that of a large company which ordered 4200 bags of product. I was so touched by the story that I googled DPC to help locate the business page to publish this review and to my surprise I found multiple news articles featuring a picture of the gentleman who helped me; he just so happened to be the COO. I'm even more grateful for the time this executive took today to help keep our family tradition alive. Thank you Mr. Kelley! You have kept a family tradition going for a fourth generation!

After reading reviews here on Yelp and saw others reviews I was intrigued. I went to Groupon and saw for $13 you could get $25 worth of stuff, wow. Okay, I went to the Detroit popcorn company today and a lot of the stuff was more expensive than I thought it was going to be like a small bag of chocolate covered potatoe chips (I thought they would be cool to try) but they were $7. Small bag of chocolate covered cashews $5.99. So, $25 does not get you as much as you would think. The Chicago style popcorn is AMAZING, I also brought a square of carmel that was flavored apple, it was really good too, and super soft. I have yet to eat my other treats but I am sure that they will be good too.

This used to be the best popcorn on the planet, but in the past 5 years they've gone downhill in a big way and have not come up for air since. Over 5 years or so ago, I'd say they were a 10 out of 5. Now, they're down to a 1. One time our popcorn had a ton a kernels--something that was never a problem with them. A couple years later, we tried again, same thing. This most recent time, the flavors were completely off. The butter popcorn did not taste like popcorn at all. It had a candy, sugary taste and smell to it. It tasted like it had been stored on an open container in a room full of sugary candies and it absorbed their taste. Did not taste like popcorn in the least. And the cheese popcorn had the most disgusting fake cheese flavoring we've ever tasted. We threw out the whole bag. I'd say we're now officially done with them for good. Maybe they'd be ok just for supplies and rentals and if you're popping your own corn. But would advise against buying the pre-packaged already made popcorn.

Burnt popcorn with no taste except salt. Terrible service. Please go to Motor City or Garrett's not this crap.

Holy Mackerel!This place is under NEW management, and the popcorn is simply great! Fresh and crispy, salted just right! TV and the movies are much better with a big bag of this popcorn in my lap!

Good place to rent popcorn, cotton candy, and nacho stands for an event or party! Not too expensive. They have everything you need in addition to renting they're equipments. Guys will bring stand to your car and put them in. Very helpful. Variety of popcorn and cotton candy flavors available. Would rent from them again. However, expect your stands to be a little outdated and scratched, probably from years of wear and tear. But they get the job done nonetheless.

IT'S OPEN!!! Everyttime I drive by, I always think it's closed due to no cars being there. (I know you thought the same thing too) Only closed on SUNDAY! I was lucky enough to catch a Groupon deal ($12 for $24 to spend). The ladies weren't the happiest but they were nice; i guess it was also because I came 20 mins before the store closed. Lol! This isn't your cheapest place to shop but if you're looking for a variety then this is your place. A lot of things comes in bulk packages or large boxes so make sure your vehicle can hold whatever you are looking to buy. Example of prices: 12oz of popcorn seed -- $9.99 popcorn seasoning (med) -- $8.99

Great place, great popcorn and treats. This place is a true gem. The prices are higher, like stuff at the movie theater but still worth it. My only issue was the cashier whose attitude was rude once she found out that I was using a Groupon she seemed really mad about that for some reason.

Do not buy from them. I ordered a popcorn basket to be delivered to an out of town family member. It never arrived. I have called them 4 times and emailed them and have gotten no response.

This place is awesome. They have all the classic flavors and bags and bags of popcorn. From tiny bags to bags that are like 10lbs! My parents rented a popcorn machine for my graduation parts years and years back because I've always loved popcorn. It turned out to be a big hit! Anyone who is looking ideas for a graduation idea for food, you should try the popcorn machine. It's worth it for sure.

Tried and true. I am event planner who has been using Detroit Popcorn rentals for corporate events, bar mitzvahs, and film festivals for the better part of 10 years. The one thing that I appreciate is that they always take responsibility for their customer service. Their product is consistently good. Their rental machines are clean, and in good condition. Most importantly, they do what they say they are going to do, when they say that they are going to do it. In my business, that counts for everything. Most recently, we had a little snafu with delivery, and Aaron was kind enough to send a driver with a machine for me to have in time for my event in Ann Arbor. THAT is first class customer service. They are a first class business.

I wanted cotton candy for my wedding favors and Detroit Popcorn Company showed us how to make it happen! Not only did they answer all our questions, they had everything we needed there in store. Their staff are very friendly and helpful, even took the time to show us how to use the machine with a live demo and a sample of the finished product. Renting the machine and purchasing the necessary supplies was a breeze, they made sure we had everything we would need. Their prices are more than fair. I did wedding favors for 165 people for way less than $200. Thank you Detroit Popcorn Company. Highly recommend!

I've rented here for work functions several times and think they are the best I've been to so far. We have rented a table top (small) popcorn popper three times and used the popcorn they sell. It's turned out eat each time. We have also rented a sno-cone machine twice which is easy to use and a big hit! They have a wide variety of syrup flavors so we found what we wanted and more. When we were planning our annual picnic and there was a strong chance there was going to be a storm we didn't know how we would cook hot dogs for 200+ people inside. Detroit Popcorn was our plan B since they had a variety of different options for indoor hot dog cooking. Thankfully mother nature cooperated and we did not use this plan but it was good to know we had a backup. They often have days where they have samples of popcorn, nachos, hot dogs, etc. Also, if you go to their website you can frequently find coupons. We've used the $20 off one on two of our rentals.

I have been going to Detroit Popcorn when they were on Greenfield... was the best around... their Gourmet Caramel corn was to die for. Moved to Ga and last trip up I went in to get Gourmet Caramel Corn... they no longer make it, so I purchased 2 14.5 oz bags of Caramel Corn, talked it up to my GA friends.... what a major DISAPPOINTMENT... stale, both bags. Ended up throwing them out... I'm done... so disappointed.

Tried some at a local sampling mixer. I went back more than a few times for the white cheddar salsa. Delicious!

If you love delicious popcorn and traditional State Fair nostalgia food this is a place to explore. I went there to purchase popcorn for a work fundraiser, but left with a box of fresh popped popcorn (free) and few sweet treats and of course popcorn. Try the VIP Popcorn with pecans and almonds... Yum! Yum! Yum! Service is great and very helpful. They anticipate your needs and offer assistance carrying items to your car. I used a $25 Groupon so that was an added bonus! Please visit the Detroit tradition!! You won't be disappointed.

I rented equipment (hot dog steamer) from them for a party that I was having on a Sunday (they are closed on sundays) so I had to pick up the machine on Saturday.....I set up the machine on Sunday for my event and SURPRISE it didn't work....I had no way to contact DPC to try to fix the issue (as they were closed) I go return it Monday at 4pm (they close at 5) I tell the lady it didn't work she says oh well I will test it out IN THE MORNING and see....I said I want to see you test it as well, she tells me she doesn't have time right now cuz they close at 5....picks up the machine and walks off.....I sat in the parking lot until 12 minutes to 5 (venting my frustrations about the situation via text) as soon as I pull off she calls me and says ,its working fine, its so hot I can't even touch the sides" but I will ask the manager (Evan) in the morning and see if he will do something for you!....I'm sorry but that is absolutely POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE! you tell me you don't have time to test it after I ask you to test it in front of me, then as soon as I leave, you "miraculously" find the time to test it and "SURPRISE" it works for you (I truly don't believe that) she went on and on about "maybe I didn't have "enough power" going to the machine (it isn't THAT powerful, be realistic), did I use an extension cord? (no because I was told not to upon pick up) I had to get a microwave for my party guests to heat up the hot dogs....how EMBARRASSING!! Thanks for the inconvenience, the embarrassment, the poor customer service and for just TAKING MY MONEY!

I purchased a bunch of flavored popcorn tins to use as handouts. Everyone raved about how good it was. For the price and quality I will be using Detroit Popcorn again and again.

I had a groupon for $50 worth of popcorn and I was thinking...what the heck am I gonna do with 50 worth of popcorn...right?? Wrong!! There is sooooo much more to this place than just popcorn. They have lots of candy, party favors and supplies, and not to mention great tasting caramel popcorn. I only wished that had purchased a larger bag :-) I will certainly be back again. Oh, and the staff was nice and orgainzed. I highly recommend!

Horrible business establishment do not do business here. On thursday june 28th i rented a double slush machine which by the way was very expensive shop around . I had 60 people over 30 kids who were very disappointed because the machine did not make slush. You would think after i called there employees about 3 hrs prior to party they would send someone to make things right . But they didnt they said it was my fault .The employee i talked to was spineless and couldnt care less about my party . You would be better off going elsewhere to do business . It would be cheaper and you would probably find someone who actually cared about your party.

I have ordered many items over the years. They keep getting more items! I am going to order a case of the popcorn baseballs for opening day. Great service,shipping is fast and they never mess up my order.

Detroit popcorn is AMAZING!!!! Friendly staff but THE POPCORN AND CANDY!!!! Old school charm. Rentals from things I see at the local fair to stuff I will use at my Christmas party! I will be back.
