My fiance and I loved our food here. I had the seabass over a mushroom risotto (and I'm not a mushroom fan). It was one of the most delicious meals I've ever eaten. The flavor of the seabass was a perfect blend of a light savory sweetness...paired with the creamy risotto, I was in taste bud heaven! My fiance ordered Kenny's Favorite and enjoyed his meal so much that he didn't even want to try mine. He described it as jumbalya without the juice, lol. We both had enough food left over to have a entire meal the next day.
For dessert, we shared the chocolate cake. Now the size isn't significant, so if you want a large portion, you wouldn't want to share, but he and I watch our calories, so the size was perfect enough for an indulgence without the guilt.
There was a nice jazz duo that played music while we ate and the ambiance was perfect. I would say the dress of most diners was dressy, but you could probably wear any attire.
The only critique I would make is that we ordered the calamari for an appetizer. The texture was unlike any other calamari I've eaten (I've had calamari in at least 20 restaurants throughout the US). At first I thought it wasn't cooked because there was no firmness to it. But the temperature was hot all the way through, so it must have been cooked. The color and texture of the calamari was a bit like fat from an animal... Disconcerting to me. The taste wasn't bad and it wasn't greasy. I really didn't know what to make of it. So it was a dish we neither enjoyed nor disliked. I would not order it again.
The fresh bread is to die for! Yes, this sentence is just thrown on, but it's worth mentioning because it tastes so good!
