Loved our most recent experience here. Food was delicious and service was excellent. We had a large party and the waiter was always there when we needed him, which was very nice. Would recommend.

Me and a group of my friends had the most horrible experience on Saturday at this restaurant. We were in the area to see a Ballet up the street at the Michigan Opera House and let the hosts and servers know that we needed to be there before 7:30 . We were sat at 6:00, the waiter Van took our drink orders and didn't come back for like 15 minutes. When he finally did come with our drinks we ordered our appetizers and our entrees and then again reminded him that we needed to be done before 7:30. He comes back with our appetizer which was a salad 20 more mintues later, we also ordered a shrimp scampi and some spinach dip, both of the dishes came out cold. We ask to speak with the manager, manager never comes. At this time it is 7:10 we are getting worried because we now need to be leaving so, we tell him to forget the entrees and just let us pay for what have had. Van keeps telling us that our entrees are done, and he will have them boxed up. We ask to speak to the manager again he finally shows up at 7:20 and we let him know we need to leave right away, he takes an additional 15 minutes to ring us out. They give us our boxed entrees and we hurry out the door to try and get to the venue in enough time to be seated. We get to the venue and they won't seat us until intermission, we had to watch the whole first half of the ballet from the lobby on a small screen. I had front row seats to this ballet and we had been looking forward to seeing it for months, and because this restaurant could not communicate that it wad having trouble in the kitchen we ended up missing half of it. We could have come after or chosen somewhere else. Also to add insult to injury none of our packed to go orders where correct and all of the food was over cooked. Shame on you Detroit Seafood Market!!

I found my new seafood restaurant! I have never been here but yet have heard so much about Detroit Seafood Market, a lot of mixed reviews, but was worth the visit. I had the Detroit original twin fried lobster tail with garlic whipped potatoes and vegetables. Everything was cooked perfectly and our waitress Wanda was excellent as well as her host Julius. I was skeptical when I walked in because there was nobody there, and anybody who has worked in a kitchen knows that if it's not busy in the restaurant you might not have the best chef. That was not the case at all. Food was excellent will definitely be returning thanks Chef Al Julius and Wanda

My fiance and I loved our food here. I had the seabass over a mushroom risotto (and I'm not a mushroom fan). It was one of the most delicious meals I've ever eaten. The flavor of the seabass was a perfect blend of a light savory sweetness...paired with the creamy risotto, I was in taste bud heaven! My fiance ordered Kenny's Favorite and enjoyed his meal so much that he didn't even want to try mine. He described it as jumbalya without the juice, lol. We both had enough food left over to have a entire meal the next day. For dessert, we shared the chocolate cake. Now the size isn't significant, so if you want a large portion, you wouldn't want to share, but he and I watch our calories, so the size was perfect enough for an indulgence without the guilt. There was a nice jazz duo that played music while we ate and the ambiance was perfect. I would say the dress of most diners was dressy, but you could probably wear any attire. The only critique I would make is that we ordered the calamari for an appetizer. The texture was unlike any other calamari I've eaten (I've had calamari in at least 20 restaurants throughout the US). At first I thought it wasn't cooked because there was no firmness to it. But the temperature was hot all the way through, so it must have been cooked. The color and texture of the calamari was a bit like fat from an animal... Disconcerting to me. The taste wasn't bad and it wasn't greasy. I really didn't know what to make of it. So it was a dish we neither enjoyed nor disliked. I would not order it again. The fresh bread is to die for! Yes, this sentence is just thrown on, but it's worth mentioning because it tastes so good!

We waited 2 hrs just to get food and when we got it, it was cold. Reservations meant nothing. Service was lacking numerous things. We won't return, not impressed on MOTHER'S DAY😔
