Detroit sip is a hidden gem in the city of Detroit. The atmosphere of this coffee house is truly a vibe. The coffee was aromatic and flavorful. My banana nut muffin was warm, sweet, and delicious 😋. You can meet with friends here, study, or just sit and read a book while sipping. I purchased a couple of pillows with my high school alma mater M.L. King on them! It was truly an awesome experience, and I will be back!

Google
I was visiting home and this was a spot I had never been to. Waaaay better than the average coffee shop and very reasonably priced! My ONLY “complaint” was that they had merch from other schools- but no Wayne State merch. I would have purchased some if they had. Even though I am WSU alum- it would be cool to see all the city colleges highlighted. Not a meaningful complaint- just an observation. I love this coffee shop and will be back next time I come home.

It's been several years since I've visited Detroit but I love how the communities are coming together to revive the area! Coming across Detroit Sip was a real treat, from the beautiful murals that greeted me on my way into the shop, and the delicious, freshly made beverages I ordered. The staff is personable and they know their stuff! Solid 10 out 10 for sure!

Google
I visited Detroit Sip for the first time and really enjoyed the experience. The space inside is both spacious and cozy, creating a welcoming atmosphere. I ordered a caramel macchiato with extra caramel, and it tasted amazing. What stood out to me most was the strong sense of community—so many people came out to support the business. The café had a great crowd, filled with laughter and good energy. I also appreciated being able to get some work done while sipping my caramel macchiato.

Google
A hidden gem in the heart of Detroit. The coffee is great, and the staff is friendly. Especially sweet is all of the local names drinks. Very pleased to have this spot as my local coffee joint.

Google
This was a nice and quiet spot to work at. Staff was friendly. The coffee was really good and strong (I had a Caramel Pecan Iced Latte). The banana muffin was a 10/10. Parking wasn’t bad for the time of day we went. Will definitely be visiting again.

Google
Friendly service and great atmosphere. The coffee and Grannie pasty was really good. This space is so nice and big enough to host an event. Really nice art around the space, printer service and a space that had local businesses cards.

Google
I stopped in here to grab a cup of coffee, not realizing that they were closing in five minutes. I felt bad because I don’t like being that guy. But the barista was SO nice and made me a fresh pour over. The atmosphere is great and the coffee hit the spot. Totally worth checking out.

Yelp
Came in for a coffee and to get some work done. The coffee was excellent. I had a garlic, croissant thingy which was excellent. Food is the standard coffee shop stuff, plugs snacks (chips), and a few desserts. A wide variety of seating with various tables, a meeting area, high top, and a reading area. The neighborhood feel of Detroit Sip is so great. I appreciate all the small touches, the concrete floors, soft jazz in the background, pics of Motown icons, murals in windows across the street. I love the inclusive, community vibe. Local artist crafts are on display. The ladies behind the counter were so friendly. They welcomed me with a smile. Overall, I loved this experience. I know I will be coming back, so I gave it a rare 5 stars. I want to see this local cafe thrive

Yelp
Our #ExodusSummitDetroitsquad had our first Meetup at Detroit Sip this Sunday. It was phenomenal, I ordered the Auto Americano with almond milk, raw sugar and toasted cinnamon raisin bagel with cream cheese. A simple breakfast but an ultimate experience. Atmosphere quite refreshing, the service impressive. The owner & staff beautiful people....skip the trip to Starbucks and enjoy this hidden gem on Detroit's westside! #BlackownedBuisness

Yelp
Great service, great coffee! What else is there to know?! Well, what else is that the fine folks at Detroit Sip are invested in their community. I went by on Small Business Saturday and they were hosting a showcase of so many local small businesses and artists inside, it truly was a celebration of what makes Detroit amazing. Support a business that understands the value of hot coffee and community.

Yelp
horrible Paid $10 to get into this place. ordered food. waited 3 hours and the food never came. it was 3 of us. we each ordered 2 casamigo shots a piece. they serve you shots in flimsy plastic cups. after waiting 3hours for food that never came out. we asked for our bill. $140 for 6 supposedly casamigo shots. Not to mention the place was completely empty. not busy at all. horrible time, horrible experience, horrible ambiance, horrible customer service. I will never return or recommend to suck on six!! I don't think they are ready to be open. they want to collect money. Get your shit together sucky six. serve your customers the proper way. its not that serious. it seems they are desperate for funds

Yelp
Detroit Sip on McNichols exclusively serves products from Detroit companies, so that means beans from Germack and Ashe Supply Co., and pastries and savory dishes by Dutch Girl Donuts (y'all KNOW that Dutch Girl is my J-A-M!), Better Made Chips (another personal fave of mine), A-Team Cheesecakes, Brooklyn Brownies, Soups by Jane, Pinky's Shuga Shack, and lots more. The staff are wonderful: friendly and attentive. As soon as I walked in the door, I felt welcome. The vibe is really good and I liked the interior decorating as well. Great spot for a pick-me up; trust me, you wouldn't like me when I am hangry! Oh and did I mention Detroit Sip is local and black-owned? Just two more great reasons to stop in and TREAT YOURSELF!

Yelp
I just went today and was told they DON'T have decaf espresso drinks. Just wanted to update that because I said they did in my last review.

Yelp
Every time I have stopped there the service and quality have been above and beyond. They have a punch card for multiple visits. Last time I got the cinnamon crunch muffin and a coffee. I'm excited for this and the other businesses that are opening up along mcnichols

Yelp
I stopped in yesterday (Sunday) afternoon to read for an hour. It was my first time, and had seen it mentioned in a Metro Times article a few weeks prior. The interior is HUGE and well decorated. There is plenty of space for activities (the barista/owner said she was planning to have yoga there, they were taping a podcast while I was there, and there was a black-tie event last week). The coffee was good, and on the higher end of average price without being prohibitively expensive. I also had some of the vegan leek/mushroom soup that was available and also quite delicious. There was a steady stream of regulars that indicated it's consistently a solid choice! I'd definitely recommend stopping in, and if you're close enough, make it a regular occurrence.

Yelp
A blessing to have a coffee shop this close to University of Detroit Mercy, and very close to my office on 6mile/McNichols. Great community space for meeting friends, community groups, etc. Hours are particular - Thursday through Sunday at the moment. Next door to the future Homebase, a community focused information center by Live 6 non-profit. Lots of street parking and the coffee is pretty good too!

Yelp
Every time I'm visit him (Detroit) I make sure I stop in for a cup of coffee. I always leave with much more though. I have amazing conversations, good coffee and I usually learn something new, which is always a plus. Please visit and enjoy this gem

Yelp
Great little coffee shop with good service, friendly people and tasty snack foods. Comfortable to chat or work with fast WiFi. Don't come expecting a full meal but for a pick me up or meeting you cannot do better

Yelp
Dropped my ArtLab J dancers to class at Marygrove, and Yelped "Coffee Shops CURRENT LOCATION." What a surprise to find Detroit Sip just a couple blocks away. It's not only yummy but downright FRESH. Try

Yelp
Tried it for the first time to work on the computer. Coffee was good and the interior was comfortable and perfect. There's plenty of seating and outlets. Cinnamon rolls looked good too. I'll definitely be coming back

Yelp
One of the best coffee houses I have been to in Detroit. Great staff, friendly. The atmosphere is very nice. 5 stars for this place

Bridget G.

Yelp
Visited Detroit Sip for the first time today. Their desserts are delicious and definitely taste homemade! I had one of the most flavorful cups of tea I've ever had. Most importantly the owner is so warm and really takes care of each of her customers. Also a great, relaxed place to do work.

Zenzo B.

Yelp
Really cozy Coffee store. Very friendly staff. Would highly recommend. Nice wide open space. The area around isn't the nice. But this is a gem in the thought

Juli S.

Yelp
Rode my bike there last Thursday morning. The coffee was great! The first time there, I drank their house brew. After this I'll branch out, maybe try the Carmel Macchiato next. They have a nice assortment of baked things and snacks to go with the coffee. They have tea, too. But coffee's my thing! The room is big and light and airy, with different interesting areas to sit in. I struck up a conversation with another customer. The whole visit was delightful.

Yelp
Great atmosphere and really good coffee. Awesome cheesecake. Perfect place to relax, study, or hang out with friends. Friendly staff.
