I'm so excited to finally have a good french restaurant around our area. It's a beautiful, cozy place with a huge flavor. Walking into the restaurant makes you feel as if you were taken to a restaurant in Paris. Very warm feeling and a clean feeling. We have 4 appetizers and 1 main course. Each plate was served with elegance and portion correctly. Each bite you took of the food was as it was ment to melt on the tongue. My husband and I will keep coming back.

We have been waiting in anticipation for the opening of this French restaurant in our neighborhood. We started with the beet parfait salad which was a great balance of texture and taste. It was so unique and delicious. Our main courses were the steak frites and roasted chicken with green beans, carrots and mashed potatoes. Both dishes were absolutely cooked and seasoned to perfection. Loved every bite! We ended the evening with the vanilla crepe cake drizzled in chocolate. It was utterly decadent! This place definitely lived up to the hype. The price for the food was spot on. Everything tasted so fresh and well prepared. On top of it all, our server Chris was amazing! He was friendly and attentive, gave the best recommendations for our wines to pair with our dinner. The food, ambiance and service were utterly superb and we can't wait to come back!

This charming bistro in the French Quarter is adorable and perfect for nice intimate dinner. The refined menu shows their attention and mastery to their food. The baguette with whipped butter was incredible, as well as the steak frites. The waiter and host were very attentive, and anticipated all needs, without being overbearing. The ambiance is relaxing and dream like after a long day at work. Would definitely suggest anyone to visit! My only regret is being too full for dessert!

Google
Such a great restaurant. The service was fabulous and the waiter explained the specials patiently and pleasantly. We had the duck 🦆 orange which was perfect. I had Mary’s chicken - a generous portion served with melt in your mouth mash potato and gravy and my sister ordered the pasta. We also shared the corn soup and a goat cheese salad. Everything was delicious! Tim I think that was his name was so unobtrusive and yet always there when we needed something. We shall return soon!

Google
What a beautiful little French restaurant! Pleasant atmosphere, subtle flavors on traditional French dishes, and very good service. The dinner specials were interesting, but we wanted to try out the Steak Frite and the Trout Almondine. Both were superb. Especially liked the way the vegetables were cooked to go along with the protein. It was a great date night for my wife and I.

Google
Amazing atmosphere, I loved their short and option full menu ( usually restaurant menus long and pointless, Server was attentive, very nice and professional. Drinks were amazing, house wine was great and the lemonade took me back In time, their lemonade is made with lemon juice reminded my of how my grandma used to make them… Food was great and on time, but but the only thing that doesn’t let me do a full 5star is the fact that our bread was over toasted and black. I enjoyed overall still 5star

Just finished a fantastic dinner at this new restaurant. We had the roast chicken and also the Salmon. Both were delicious. We finished with a crème brûlée. Can’t wait to go back.

First visit. Was greated by MaitreD. Anahi. She was very nice and made the music volume just right. She showed us to our table that we picked. Guests were older on average for Sunday 6pm meal. Then waiter Johnathan told us about menu questions. Knew his stuff. Nice positive attitude. Wife had Tomato salad. I had Hanger steak. Super good. And fries were as good as any. Bread with butter and shallots. The best. So will come back for the steak and the snails. Nice to have a new place in Woodland Hills. Great place.

Mindy M.

Yelp
My daughter and I split the cheese omelette, French style, and the salad that came with it. The omelette left a lot to be desired. It needed more cheese and scallions on the top if you really want to make it French.

Harry F.

Yelp
Back again. This time went to this fine place with my daughter. Was greated by a very nice matre'D Anihi, who was very thoughtful about finding just the right table. My daughter is hostess at King's and she is the one that told be about this new place. Jacob arrived instantly and introduced himself as our server. He certainly knew the details of the menu. And, had a great sense of humor. We both had the Hanger steak, rare. She asked for a sub of brocollini for fries, I had the standard fries with my steak. So, I am 60+, had a uncountable number of steaks. In every big city in Canada and the great USA. Even when I had a abusive company expense account, and could select whatever I want.... well this Hanger was prepared perfectly. And, I am confident that it will be that way again-since I ate the same awesome steak 3 days ago. Here at "BistroD" or I am thinking maybe "D's" for short. My daughters steak. Identical. Fries. Well, this is the second test of the fries. I believe that this is the standard. Thin, with nice browning. Not oil soaked. But not flavor deprived. This has a fryer tast with with hints of unique seasoning to D's and thier secret chef's recipe. No way to take these to go. Also to top it off, dragging the fries thru the juices from the steak.... Who cares is In 'n Out is opening near by. So the $6 bread and butter is unique to this place. The thin slided bread baggette had a butter from heaven. It was a onion whipped butter witha hint of salt. And lots of it!. Decided to buy a take home butter for $10. In closing, great staff, great meat and reasonable price for custom made food like this. Normally, I use google for reviews but I did earlier this week. I recognize Yelp's following since I have my own ad (bagpipeplayers.com) I see D's as a local upscale destination for 15 people or a couple. Staff is great. Food outsanding. -Happy eating, Harry -Woodland Hills resident since 1963

Yelp
We came here last night for dinner and had one of the best dining experiences ever! We arrived for a 5pm reservation and got our pick of any of the tables inside or outside the restaurant. We chose an inside table in the corner by the window. It was nice and quiet at this time, and we appreciated the ambiance before the dinner rush started. This is a super cute restaurant that is warm and inviting, and amazing staff. Love the "Oui Chef" sign above the open kitchen! We ordered a nice glass of champagne each and the "Le Pain" bread and butter, that comes piping hot and crispy shallots on the butter. Yum! We also ordered the steak tartare which was absolutely delicious and very light. For mains, we had the duck confit that came on top of a bed of white beans, arugula, orange segments and pomegranate seeds. We also got the Moules Frites which were absolutely delicious, baked on top of rosemary. With those dishes we splurged on a bottle of burgundy, but it was worth every penny! For dessert, the creme brulee was a must, but we also got the chocolate mousse which came with an epic hazelnut crunchy topping! The wait staff were amazing - super attentive and professional, and every need was taken care of. We will definitely be back. Again and again!!! Thank you for a great date night!

Yelp
Had a wonderful dinner with a sweet friend and the ambiance is charming and quaint. Very nice staff and great food!! Thank you!

Yelp
Really inviting room when you walk in, can hear the music in the background at a perfect level. We were excited to get a bottle of red wine and have some of food to pair. Here were the only two disappointing parts. One, the two person table looks cool but not easy to actually have a meal because of its small size. We ended up using two tables which defeats the purpose for the restaurant. Two, the entree menu was pretty small with no specials only for appetizers. Then at about 6:30 on a Friday we were told they were out of the short rib. Not the end of the world but that would go perfect with a nice red. Ended up getting the olives and beef tartare to start. I don't usually even comment on olives when I get them but these were good, and the oil was top notch, make sure to get to the bottom of the bowl. The steak tartare was also good with a nice hint of mustard. We then went with the steak frites, French onion soup, and had to default to the burger. Steak was cooked perfectly (med rare), nice thick piece, and good presentation. The French onion soup was well made which is not always easy to do. The burger patty was thick and tasty. The burger overall was good but wish they had an amp'd version with foie or bacon or something to add to make it "signature". Jonathan was great throughout the evening as was the rest of the staff, they were polite and really hustled.

Yelp
The food at this location is delicious. For starters you have to try their Steak Frites which is their 8 oz flat iron steak, red wine redux and herb butter. I usually get a side of mashed potatoes which has a beautiful and distinctive flavor. They also have a Lobster crepe which is asparagus, tomato and sauce americane. Their secret sauce will have you wanting more and more. The Deux Burger which is double smash burger, housemade pickles, 1000 island, lettuce, tomato and a side of fries is also a great option. Desert is another excellent finisher as their crepe cake, creme brulee or key lime pie are all great choices. The decor is romantic and great for a first date or a long time relationship. It is also a great spot for a get together. Staff is friendly and Nicolas will help you with any of your questions. Parking is on Ventura blvd or adjacent street.

Yelp
Found this restaurant through an instagram ad and immediately made a reservation. I was 100% the demographic as I love French food and it's in walking distance had we not dressed up. We parked in the pay for parking structure around the corner and walked through the French quarter to the front. The entrance is on Ventura Blvd and you see the host stand as you walk in. We were greeted by the owner and were sat within 2 minutes of being inside. It's a bit loud inside, but the overall vibe is simple, clean, and modern. Open kitchen, waiters and staff in black, and the owner doing multiple duties. Our server Jacob was great. He was super attentive and answered questions, and made recommendations. Our appetizers came out super quickly. First, bread and butter, and husband ordered the French onion soup. Bread was hot and crunchy on the outside, and soft on the inside. Butter was beautifully whipped and smooth. Husband downed his soup and was "super" happy. Our mains came out not too long after...I got steak frites, and he got the lobster crepe and a side of fries. While husband downed his dish, I found mine to be a little bit lacking. Ordered steak medium rare...and I would say it was more medium to medium well. There was also quite a bit of fat in it, and I found it to be a little bit dry. I will say, fries were excellent. Super crunchy, hot and salty. The staff was great and boxed up the rest of my order and dropped the check. You can scan and pay at your table, which was super convenient. When we left I realized we weren't even there an hour from check in to departure...it was so fast. My thoughts when leaving were I liked the location. The owner seemed super invested and was making the rounds to ensure guests were happy. He was also running plates, helping check in, and various other things. I love it when I see things like this because it shows they care. I will say, it's a bit loud...it was a full house on a Saturday night...which I expected...so just be prepared for it. And, I really wish I like my steak a bit more. Overall, I'd like to go back and try again. I would love to have this spot in my normal rotation.

Yelp
Went here for the first time tonight after seeing a news article about its opening. It lives up to the hype. Entrees were great but of all things I'm going to be dreaming about their bread and butter for a while! Service was fast considering the quality of the food and it had a very relaxed, upscale home sort of ambiance.

Bruce W.

Yelp
Went to brunch and found this place. Great service and great food. Portions were generous and the waiters were very attentive and helpful. This is a family owned business so please support them as they seem to put a lot of effort into their dishes and service quality. Great Parisian ambiance as well.

Lissa G.

Yelp
While I didn't love the food quite as much as Jim G. did, we did have a lovely evening in a cute setting with great service! Jonathan was excellent from the beginning. Decently priced wine (a Bordeaux for $60), which we ordered right away, along with some beef tartare ($18), which was tasty. Sadly, Jonathan informed us that they were out of the Short Rib, which was disappointing, especially for so early in the evening. I hope they work on planning a bit better, moving forward. As the menu itself is rather small, I was left with the option of the burger ($18). Jim ordered the Steak Frites ($38) and we also shared the French Onion Soup ($14), which was done nicely. Both the steak and the burger were cooked properly, medium rare, as we requested and tasted fine. Personally, I feel as if both could have used a bit more seasoning and the burger could use something to kick it up a bit, flavor-wise. We also ordered an additional glass of wine, which was also great with our food ($16/glass). Jonathan and all the food runners were great and hustled the entire time. They also saw that we could not possibly fit anything else on the very cute, but super tiny table, and they swiftly pulled another table over. This was an excellent fix for us, but is then depriving them of a table for patrons. This may also be an issue they work out after they've been open for a while. We'll give them a couple months and check them out again. It is nice to have a neighborhood bistro!

Megan Z.

Yelp
Nice foods& environment. Price is very reasonable. Didn't have a chance to try their chef's menu on every Wednesday but will definitely do that next time

Eli L.

Yelp
Excellent French food in an atmosphere that's as close to a bistro as you can get in the valley. We had the bread (some of the best I've ever tasted), tuna tartare (very good), brisket (hearty and delicious), duck confit special (really amazing, excellent flavor combination), chocolate mousse (very good), and apple tart (excellent). Wine was great as well. The only negative was the bistro-sized tables were combined with modern-style large plates, which was very crowded--I wish they just committed to the bit and used a bread basket, small plates, etc. We'll definitely be back!

Julia B.

Yelp
Head to toe great. The food is scrumptious. Service impeccable and the room is lovely. I highly recommend this restaurant. It's a neighborhood gem

Free Speech U.

Yelp
Place was nice , service good. BUT. Food not. We ordered the bread and butter, French onion, soup, tomato salad, tuna, Tara, tuna steak seared. The butter has no flavor. The tuna steak sauce with too heavy and salty, the tuna was a poor mixture/flavors together. The sauce was below average. Sorry to say food was. 3 at best. We didn't say anything and the full plate was taken away. No one bothered to ask why I didn't eat my tuna, I am not asking for a free meal. Just need the owner and cook to know.

Marlene G.

Yelp
Welcome to the neighborhood! We had such an amazing evening! Dinner was excellent. The servers attentive and friendly. Nicolas, the proprietor, offers the most delicious French food. We can't wait to go back! Six stars!

Shery P.

Yelp
It was just ok. The trout 4/5 was much better than the tough and chewy steak 2/5. I definitely prefer Perit Trois in Studio City.

Lee B.

Yelp
What a lovely new French restaurant! The French baguette and whipped butter is incredible. I almost ate the entire loaf. The service was very charming and they were very sensitive to my allergy. Will definitely be back!

Jenny M.

Yelp
Happy to have Deux Bistro in the neighborhood! lovely ambience service and food look forward to returning

Becky K.

Yelp
Food - We ordered two glasses of Pinot noir and three entrees: 1. Beef bourguignon 2. Chicken 3. Potato gnocchi The three complemented each other nicely. Thoroughly enjoyed the beef bourguignon! We ordered the crème brûlée for dessert and this was excellent. Service - Very attentive and hospitable. Easy to make a reservation by calling since we wanted indoor seating. Plenty of outdoor seating as well for those who want a different vibe. Ambiance - Perfect for a first date, anniversary or birthday dinner. The food and service is unpretentious and very homey. Will be back! We didn't take photos because we wanted to be in the moment and enjoyed every bite before we realized we could've/should've taken photos. This is a sign that you should reserve your next meal here!

Adam G.

Yelp
Excellent food and service. We were fans of this place when it was in Malibu (Nicholas Eatery) and had to try this new location. Same consistent, EXCELLENT food. Loved everything we had (goat cheese salad with steak, poultry frites, Arnold Palmer). We rarely write reviews but so badly want this place to succeed with it being a family establishment and the food and service being outstanding. Great ambiance and music too!

Denise S.

Yelp
The food was OK, but drinks are way too expensive. Y'all need a deal on mimosas if you wanna do brunch. $18 each is bonkers.

Viveca L.

Yelp
Very nice addition to the restaurants on Ventura blvd,. Great food and great service!

Cherry P.

Yelp
Such a nice find! Delicious food. We had brunch and loved the croque monsieur and Japanese egg salad! The service and ambience were also excellent!

Sally P.

Yelp
A gem in the Woodland Hills area! The food is delicious and the service is superb. The staff went above and beyond, very accommodating and staying open late for our celebration. Very much appreciated! Highly recommend: escargots for appetizers; salmon, branzino, salmon and short rib for mains; keylime parfait for dessert. Perfect location for any special occasion.

Shane H.

Yelp
Love this place! Been here 3 times with my girlfriend. We always order the bread cause it's great! Then I usually order the Steak Frites and wine. The ambiance is nice. They usually play house music in the background which I love. The service has always been great. Would highly recommend you give this place a try!

L W.

Yelp
I've dined here 4X now, three times solo and one time with my family. Each and every time the food has been CONSISTENTLY good. I always get the steak frites and substitute the fries for green beans or mash potatoes, both delicious! The Bibb salad and hamachi are so fresh! Yum! The freshly baked bread is mouth watering. Everything I've tried on the menu has been stellar, and this place has quickly become one of my favorite places to dine. Also I've rolled up multiple times in sweat pants and immensely underdressed and I've always been treated so kindly and wonderfully by the staff. Not all establishments are like this, and I appreciate that they do not discriminate based on attire. Shout out to Therron,, Lucas and the owner Nicholas who have provided exceptional service. If I could eat breakfast, lunch and dinner here every day I would! They're THAT good ! Have fallen in love with Deux Bistro and we are lucky to have them in the neighborhood!

Claudia D.

Yelp
Excellent food and service. Second time here. Glad they removed the lobster crepe off the menu. We sat outside in a side patio that was quiet and private. The main dining room is a bit loud so it was perfect. The outside patio area would be nice for a romantic first date. My husband and I ordered the delicious hot crispy bread and butter (2 orders), marinated olives, corn soup, trout almandine, steak frites, key lime pie and chocolate mousse. We ate too much but all was delicious. Next time, we'll only get one order of bread and one dessert to share. I'm so happy to have a French bistro cafe back in the neighborhood. There used to be a fantastic French cafe in Woodland Hills called La Frite but it closed over a decade ago. Looking forward to celebrating special occasions and more meals at Deux Bistro.

Super D.

Yelp
Service was fast, the outside seating was comfortable, and the ambiance was pleasant. All the food was wonderful. I appreciate the owner going to every table to check in. Very nice touch you don't see too often.

Menije B.

Yelp
We had a lovely family dinner here. Was happy to make my reservation via open table. The Owner came by and greeted every table. Very friendly service. They played music for two birthdays.

Cathleen C.

Yelp
We had a work gathering here on the side patio and it was absolutely fabulous. The staff were incredibly friendly and extremely attentive. We had passed appetizers and the mac n cheese and dessert trio were outstanding. I highly recommend Deux Bistro and cannot wait to come here and have a sit down meal.

Philippe S.

Yelp
these people understand hospitality like no one else!!! on top of that, the menu is eclectic, and the food is phenomenal! Best steak frites ever and fun wine list!!! strongly recommend

C S.

Yelp
Whipped butter and bread are to die for. Steak tartare and escargot are delicious. Very refined elegant dishes with an awesome price point. Excellent service and friendly servers. So happy to have found this hidden gem in SFV. They have a nice wrap around patio and are pet freindly!

Adam M.

Yelp
The wine was nice and so was the bread starter. I see a bunch of great reviews, so I'm either too picky or it was an off night, but the main course wasn't good. I'd say for the setting the food is pretty reasonably priced, but the food was over cooked the medium steak was well done and the fries were cooked to the point where they kinda shred the inside of your mouth. I didn't want to be difficult and send it back and it was still edible, but pretty underwhelming. Maybe it was an off night though ‍

Enrique L.

Yelp
Food was amazing! We ordered the Salmon and it was best I have had anywhere! Tasty all they way through. The steak frite was impeccable too. Soup was delicious. Our server Chris was great and it was nice meeting Nicolas and Chef Travis. Will definitely be back!!

Haig J.

Yelp
I had a delightful experience at this French restaurant. The staff's and owner's attentive and friendly service added a warm touch to the entire dining experience. Highly recommended for a memorable evening of gastronomic delight...

Sheila C.

Yelp
Welcome to the valley, Deux Bistro!! New french restaurant on Ventura in Woodland Hills. I randomly found this restaurant when trying to make reservations online at open table. I don't like going to a restaurant that just opened bc of the service being slow, and training, etc. but the menu looked so good, we had to go! I'm just going to get right into it... the food and service was superb! Friendly staff, all attentive and making sure we were being taken care of. We ordered some red wine, as starters we got the bread and butter, hamachi crudo, French onion soup and the beet parfait. Everything was fresh and delicious. Im still thinking about the beet parfait which is a beet salad with goat cheese. Pure heaven. We also got the lobster crepe to try something new and different. I was hesitant thinking it might be sweet. Let me tell you this was probably the best thing I've had in a long time. Basically we want to go back tomorrow and have it all over again. Highly recommend as a date night, birthday dinner or even a dinner with family! Even our kids loved this place!

B R.

Yelp
Thrilled to have a real French restaurant in Los Angeles. The food is perfect. I've been twice and can't wait to return. I've had steak tartare and the cheeseburger at brunch/lunch and will get back there for dinner soon.

Kurt D.

Yelp
What a hidden gem! This place is truly fantastic. Delicious warm bread, marinated olives, fantastic tuna tartare, splendid moules frites and trout almondine. Having tried all of the French contenders in LA, this one really shines and with unpretentious service to top it off. The one critique would be to offer more French wines by the glass.

Polina D.

Yelp
Deux is a new French fusion restaurant on Ventura boulevard and it is absolutely amazing! Got the beet parfait, bibb lettuce salad, hamachi crudo, roasted chicken and steak frites. Everything was tasty, service was timely and coursed out properly. The restaurant itself is very cute with an indoor dining room and a cozy patio. Desserts were marvellous as well - we tried the chocolate crepe cake and the creme brûlée! Highly recommend.

Isabella P.

Yelp
Tried this place for the first time and food was really tasty. Really great presentation of the food when it came out and the menu is nice and small making it easy to make a choice. The staff was very professional and efficient. Our server in particular (his name started with a T) brought a great energy to our table. Making sure we were taken care of, making us laugh, and was able to make recommendations based of the questions I asked. 5/5 starts for this place. The chocolate mousse was to die for!!

P-8-Eat H.

Yelp
Drive All The Way To Try. Excellent Service. Order Bread N' Butter (Very Tasty Butter) , Hamachi Crudo (Delicious) , Lobster Crepe (Generous Lobster) , Spring Lamb (Tasty).

Lisa B.

Yelp
My husband and I were happy to try this new French restaurant in the area. I'm so glad we did because I cannot say enough great things about our experience from food, service, and ambiance. The food is excellent! We had the French onion soup and bread pastry with butter to start. For our entrees, I had the Steak Frites and my husband had the roasted chicken. And to finish, we had their amazing crème brulee. One of the owners, Lucas, was kind enough to introduce himself and very friendly. Our waiter Jacob was awesome. Book now on Open Table! Everything was fantastic!!!

Kristin H.

Yelp
I was so excited to try this new restaurant in Woodland Hills. I'm a lover of good food and have been lucky enough to dine at some wonderful restaurants and live in Europe and NYC. I consider myself a foodie even though that term makes me cringe. I had high hopes to say the least. The place was cute and looked inviting. The staff was nice however I was really there for a great meal. Food- I asked the server if the salmon was wild or farmed and he assured me it was wild. I immediately could tell it was farmed. You can always tell by the color and the consistency of the meat. It was almost white and fatty but not the good kind of fatty. I was disappointed but I wanted to give it a fair chance so I tried it and it was terrible. Farmed fish literally swims in feces and you can tell by the taste. It no kidding tasted like fish poop. I got a caesar salad and the leaves were wilted and it just looked sad. Fries were also subpar especially for a french restaurant. What makes good food is fresh ingredients and even simplicity. The ingredients were not fresh and I feel like I wasted my money. Such a bummer. I hope the owners read this and take it to heart by supplying better ingredients an educating their staff a bit.

Adi N.

Yelp
Romantic setting, sweet crew. Good food. Olives a little salty. Fish was excellent. Definitely recommend this restaurant

Yelp
Fantastic food and service. A total go to for us here in WH! The burger.., omg. Killer. The brisket... Sunday soul food. LOVE this place. Oh... heirloom tomato salad. Yum. Fries... oh hell yeah

Amit M.

Yelp
Fan-fricking-tastic!!! Wife and 3 kids polished of steak, trout and mussels that were superbly prepared. Thank god this restaurant now is open and another place my wife and 3 kids will keep coming back too. Service was insane to make it even better......

Julie A.

Yelp
DELICIOUS FOOD and wonderful service!! We got the beet salad as an appetizer and it was incredible. The beets with so tasty and it was quite large for an appetizer. We also got the bread and butter which was mouthwatering. I got the branzino and my friend got the steak frites; everything was truly impeccable. For dessert we got the chocolate mousse

Ralph Z.

Yelp
The food is incredible! The service on point! The staff is super nice and the menu has all of the "Greatest Hits" that one would expect from a premium French Bistro!! My family and I will definitely be back!!
