COVID-19 delays Brochu’s, one of 2020’s most anticipated openings | Eater Chicago

"Taken over for the summer by ex-Alinea Group chef Andrew Brochu under the moniker Friend of the Devil, this Wicker Park spot is serving a revamped comfort-food menu built around fried chicken sandwiches, smash burgers and classic hot dogs. The lineup highlights “Brochu’s World Famous Chicken Sandwich (that one)” — buttermilk fried chicken, chamomile mayo, dill pickle, lettuce, sunchoke hot sauce, on a toasted brioche bun — alongside three other fried chicken sandwiches, a fried green tomato sandwich and a smattering of burgers and hot dogs. The 1431 N. Milwaukee Avenue location is open for walk-ins while the dining room remains closed and is accepting orders via Tock; the brand’s other locations are keeping their existing menus." - Naomi Waxman

Me partner and I were in chicago and I made it known that I really want to have a Chicago style hot dog while we were there. He googled some options and this location was close to us. Hands down the best Chicago style hot dog I have ever had. My partner got the chili dog and we shared a shake. We already know the next time we are in chicago, we will be coming back and I can't recommend this place enough. Good prices and good food. We walked to a near by park to eat and it was just such an overall great experience.

This place is SOLID! affordable and greasy and yummy, just like what your heart desires. The sliders were a 9/10 and the Oreo shake was a 10/10 the chicken is 7/10 and the fries were 8/10 and finally the cheese curds were authentic 9/10. This place is a great and will totally eat there more!

The hot dogs are of course amazing. Vienna beef with delicious toppings can't be beat. There really is no service. You order, and then grab your food from the counter. Place is chill. Enough seating with nice decor. I love it. Just go and get got a good hot dog.

I have mixed feelings. The food was solid but nothing over the top great. We ate there and their soda machine was broken except for one option and even that stopped working by the time the 3rd person in our group went to fill their cup up. I guess if you do go there, purchase a bottled drink to avoid the frustration. My group did enjoy their hotdogs and I thought the chicken tenders were 8/10. They do have both booths and chair tables so that was nice.

I eat hot dogs all over the world and I have been wanting to come here after I saw Tik Tok about it. This place did not disappoint. The Islandic Dawg is one of the best hot dogs I ever had. Definitely returning to try the Elvis Slider next time I'm in Chicago.

When i came to this establishment there was some one at the counter but he did not acknowledge us. When I asked if we order at the counter or at the kiosk he replied "yes." After I kindly asked "im sorry, yes to which one?–" he did not reply and continued to ignore us until a nice cook informed us we could order there at the register. When we did order the cashier was unenthusiastic and rushing us to complete our order and did not give us our drink cups. Unfortunate experience as ive been to the another Devil Dawgs location at my last visit and wanted to come to this one as I had a great experience there and really liked the food, but this location's service put a bad taste in my mouth (no pun intended, plus the food itself was great)

Food was very good. I had the classic chicken sandwich and fries. Unfortunately the manager (or owner) couldn't be bothered to look up from his paperwork to actually take care of the customer. When asked a question he still couldn't look up to respond and said "Yes" to a 2 option question. Minus the rude manager the experience could have been great.

Sliders where nothing special, just ok, bacon cheddar dawg was terrible! Regular bun, the wiener was a cheap and then full of cheese sauce, good if you are looking for a cholesterol fill. Fries were good and plentiful however not enough for me to come back and wouldn’t recommend the place.
