3 Places to Try in Seattle This Weekend | Eater Seattle

"A Capitol Hill mainstay that was closing on August 4 — it's worth a farewell visit for the signature thalis and globally influenced dishes like the dosa with beet sesame and smoky eggplant raita, and dessert such as the chocolate walnut baklava with coffee custard sauce." - Megan Hill

We had a great time this afternoon at Dew Drop Inn! The wife and I were in the neighborhood and thought we would do mid- afternoon drinks and dinner here. The vibe is great, total neighborhood atmosphere. My Manhattan was excellent, and my wife had a cocktail with cucumber vodka and it was really good, too. The food was all excellent. Our mixed greens salad did not sound too exciting but it was mixed with a really good blue cheese dressing. The shoestring fries are perfect, exactly what I want out of a fry. But the standouts were the Bangkok mussels and Lamby Joe sliders! We used to eat at Jonesy’s Eat Bar, which was our favorite spot on 20th Street. It closed years ago, but they had Lamby Joe sliders and Thai curry mussels just like these. I’m not sure if this is the same chef but these are so good and tasty here at dew drop inn. This place is awesome! Great service, laid-back atmosphere, good music playing overhead, great food. Exactly what an elevated neighborhood bar should be. Great spot!

Google
I really wanted to like this place. The mussels were delicious and the patio was great. Unfortunately there were a lot of issues. I order a salad with ranch which came already covered in a vinaigrette wish a side of ranch. They corrected that quickly. The main issue we had was there was no dip for the French dip. It was delicious but the amount of the au jus was laughable. We were sharing and asked for a second cup. We asked five times. Finally they brought a second which was even more laughable. I was able to dip my cold half of my sandwich twice before the bowl was dry. I asked again and again and again. Everyone was done eating and I was still waiting for the dip portion of the sandwich. After asking three different people, they finally brought out a third bowl that was half oil which made me sick. I’ve been sick for three days. And when the bill came they charged me for extra au jus. Maybe list it as a roast beef sandwich? Their attitudes were not great about it. I wasn’t asking for a lot, just what I ordered. I will not be going back or recommending this place to anyone who doesn’t want to pay extra for what they should have gotten or who doesn’t want to be tied to a toilet for three days. Do better!

Google
Have been wanting to go here for so long! Certainly glad I finally did. All the food was delicious but the Bangkok mussels and whipped ricotta were by far our favorite dishes. The cocktails were very good as well, with a good variety. Ambiance is 10/10 especially when you add on the location. (Whipped ricotta not in the photo unfortunately ha)

Google
Really inviting and fun vibes. The drinks are unique and delicious. Very reasonably priced. Yummy food. Don’t expect to get a meal here but perfect for sharing and apps.

Google
What a gem! We enjoyed both of their famous mussels, an assortment of their appetizers and the lamb sliders. Truly one of the most delicious meals I e had in a long time. The ambiance was perfect for catching up. I have to add our delight at their mock tail and n/a beer selection. We capped the meal off with the perfect pallet cleansing orange poppy seed tea cake. 10/10 recommend!

Google
Stopped in on a whim and had a lovely time. The tacos (ordered beef and the veggie) were delicious as were the drinks. Kristin was so nice to talk to and made an excellent recommendation for the orange cake and books to read :). All of the staff were attentive and friendly. Should I find myself back in Denver, I’ll make a point to stop by this wonderful spot again!

Google
If you’re closing for a private event it’s a good idea to let your customers know, post it on your website or instagram, perhaps your google listing, so they don’t waste their time coming downtown to a closed restaurant. Definitely won’t waste my time in the future trying to come here and will let my friends know too!

Google
Got a few drinks with a friend that just needed to get out of the house. Reasonably priced delicious cocktails, and very attentive staff. The music from the neighboring bar wasn't great for being on the patio, but that is picking nits. Great place.

Yelp
this place was amazing! my fiancé and i came in last night for dinner before zoo lights and we had a phenomenal time. i'm celiac and we're both sober and there were so many options. we had a few mocktails, the french 68 and the bee nice, which were fantastic. the bartender (whose name i never got and wish i did) even asked about adding lavender bitters to our bee nice to make sure we were okay with the trace alcohol in there, which was a level of consideration and thoughtfulness i never see. the service was top tier. the food was to die for, also. we had the fried chicken (get the full order! we ended up ordering two half orders because it was so good) and the cubano on gluten free bread. they even have a dedicated gluten free fryer!! the chicken was flavorful and juicy, the cubano was perfect and the gluten free bread was some of the best i've ever had. it didn't fall apart at all. the place was decorated for the holidays so nicely, too. there were stockings for each of the employees behind the bar which was adorable, and the bartop had the coolest pattern on it. the staff was extremely welcoming upon entry and we never felt rushed which was lovely. bonus points for the grinch playing on the tv, i love that movie lol. we would 100% come back here, and plan on it. just make sure you're prepared to park on the street!!!

Yelp
A great neighborhood hang spot. One of the best happy hours in Denver, 3-5:30. You can get half-price mussels, as well as great drink specials. I also enjoy their salads, which is a rare find at a neighborhood bar! Given the rising prices in many establishments, Dew Drop's prices + food and drink selection are refreshing.

Yelp
Dew Drop Inn has amazing cocktails and an amazing energy. I've been here a couple times as I have always lived within walking distance. The drinks are tasty and not too pricey. The food is decent as well, but it's probably not the reason you go here. The interior is lowly lit in a way that compliments the decor. It's trendy in a cute way. My favorite drink I've had here was in the winter season. It was a hot chocolate martini, but it was not decadent and it was clear! I'm dreaming about the next time they have it as I believe the menu is seasonal at times. Dew Drop is perfect for a lowkey night with drinks and conversation with friends. It does get busy some nights so gotta make sure you can snag a table to try their fun cocktails.

Yelp
Was catching a show at the Ogden and saw the affordable restaurant week menu and decided to try it out! Food and service was amazing!
google avatar

Yelp
Great bar with friendly servers, a fantastic selection of drinks, and delicious food.
google avatar

Taine D.

Yelp
Came in on my off day to read and enjoy some delicous food. The mocktail was phenomenal and I loved how bright the interior was. I sat right by the window and sunbathed while I enjoyed my mussels and drink. The vibes were vibing. Great service, yummy good, lovely location and atmosphere. I will be back!

Yelp
... can I give 6 stars?! Completely blown away. I have only gushing things to say, so here goes. Decor is perfection. Really unique vibe with gorgeous pieces from the bathroom wallpaper to the light fixtures. They even had their for sale t-shirts framed. Service was phenomenal. Extremely attentive staff with good recommendations, food came out at exactly the right time and my water glass was always filled. A+ The food... WOW. It's extremely rare to have a dinner where every item is top notch, but Dew Drop Inn did it. We started with the Bangkok Style Mussel Plate (so good my husband is going to try and make his own version this week), split the shoe string fries and fried chicken for our entree (delicious and crisped to perfection) and finished with the salted caramel cheesecake which was a lovely balance of flavors. It was all just so so good. My husband's go to drink is an Old Fashioned - they made a solid one. Tasted how it should and a good ice cube to book. *Zero Proof Review: I'm on a journey exploring Denver's zero proof, mocktail, and n/a scene and came to Dew Drop Inn specifically because they were rumored to have great options - the rumor mill did me a solid! They had 6 delicious sounding "clear-headed cocktails", two NA beers and a NA prosecco. I had a hard time choosing, but landed on "Bee Nice" which was everything and then some. Bravo, Dew Drop Inn - y'all are crushing it! Overall... This place is amazing. I will absolutely be coming back, and likely soon. Don't deprive yourself any longer, fellow Yelpers!

Yelp
Excellent uptown bar with a good happy hour and great mussels. This time was a stop for drinks. We sat at the bar, which has a new countertop since the last time I was in, an astronaut pomegranate theme. Bartenders were friendly and cocktails and beers kept flowing. I appreciated the larger size of their martini glasses. I tried a Classic Cocktail that was not on happy hour but I was too intrigued. The salted espresso martini was not as sweet and cream filled like others, which I liked. It had Amaro Nonino in it which gave it an herbaceous taste of zesty and bitter. Definitely a place to stop in if you are in the area.

Yelp
This place is located in a neighborhood so you have to street park. It has some tables outside and inside. Very cute small restaurant. Servers were friendly. They have a lot of mocktails on the menu which is nice. I got the french dip with fries ($17). The french dip was tasty but it was a very small sandwich. It was definitely the smallest french dip I've ever had. They only provided a very small amount of au jus sauce as well- I didn't have enough to finish my sandwich. The fries were skinny and small; they were good too. My friend got the cuban with mixed greens salad. She said it was fine.
google avatar

Kara S.

Yelp
I love their birria tacos. You also cannot beat their mussels--simply the best in town. I love their cocktails, and a great wine list as well. I always have excellent service. What a cozy spot in Denver.
google avatar

Mattvaughan B.

Yelp
This place is the BOMB the staff are are super cool. The drinks are amazing. I have spent half my life in the service industry. These people are so on point it's ridicules. Time spent here will never be wasted time. Great cocktails, great service, great food, great music. Great ambience. You can't go wrong spending the evening here.
google avatar

Hannah S.

Yelp
Dew Drop Inn... do drop in! It kind of reminds me of "There's No Way" by Lauv and Julia Michaels. "You touch" the menu and you know "there will be history between us two". Maybe, even some "regrets, but we just ignored them." Maybe, you'll try a traditional rendition or maybe you'll try an N/A remix. Maybe, you'll "want another"... maybe you'll "hold off for one sec"... but "there's no way it's not going there"... you'll order more than one drink before you grab the check! Overall, just like the song, it's cute and no one is upset when it's recommended. (:

Yelp
Great little bar in uptown for some quick bites and drinks with friends! The staff are so sweet! Their food is all great for sharing! I'm not a huge seafood fan but the Mussels in the red curry sauce were AMAZING!!
google avatar

Emily K.

Yelp
Came in for restaurant week on a Sunday evening. It wasn't too busy and we were seated right away (no reservations). The food was good and portions were pretty decent. At our table we tried the haufbrau picnic, whipped ricotta dip, fries, fried chicken and scampi sandwich. We enjoyed all! Service was attentive and kind. A great place to meet friends to catch up because it's not too loud or busy.
google avatar

Dana W.

Yelp
What a gem!! I have walked by a million times and finally decided to stop in and I'm so glad I did. PERFECT DATE SPOT!! Loved all of the drinks and appetizers. Will def be back. Parking is better in the neighborhoods not Main Street.
google avatar

Melanie G.

Yelp
Super cute little spot, small and intimate. Loved the ambiance. Great drinks, good food! Service was good. Got the sliders & mussels. I got a mocktail & my friend enjoyed their cocktail.
google avatar

Ashley B.

Yelp
Delicious food and nice long bar! I like the cozy vibe here. The bartenders were great!
google avatar

Toni N.

Yelp
Great happy hour with great prices! Highly recommend the pear mule! They have a great patio outside so great for sunny weather! Also service is amazing and the waiters are very accommodating for large parties.
google avatar

Nicole W.

Yelp
Dew Drop Inn was the perfect no-fuss spot. The food was great and very filling! I ordered a full size of the Karaage Chicken and the Shrimp Po Boy. Their karaage was the best karaage I've ever eaten- the pieces were succulent, juicy, full sized, and perfectly breaded! It's a shame I don't live closer to this spot to come back and get it! The Shrimp Po Boy was also good- I thought it was an excellent size for a meal! My friend ordered the Caesar salad and added on shrimp. Unfortunately it only came with four pieces of shrimp, which seemed like a small amount for the price of the add on. I did not get any drinks, but menu looked tasty and I appreciated that there were non alcoholic options available. My group sat inside but the outdoor patio looked lovely and we saw many dogs in the outdoor space on our way in
google avatar

Anna B.

Yelp
Came here for a night out with coworkers, and this place is so charming! Love the extensive drink menu, and the environment is absolutely enchanting. Low lights, a lighted chandelier, and even good food. All you could ask for! Some of our group got the French onion soup (yum!) and I got the falafel bites. Delish! Their Negroni is super good, and are all their other cocktails! Check this place out! It was cold when we went, but they also have a nice patio for summer!
google avatar

Megan B.

Yelp
Comparative to most of Denver, the drinks here are very affordable! They offer an interesting and smaller menu with like, fried chicken and mussels and sammies, too. It's a bit all over the place but I'm here for it. The inside is dimly lit with lots of different types of lighting and beautiful stained glass around the bar. The patio has cute lil string lights but be weary, there isnt tons of seating. Ordered a ceasar with fried chicken and frites that comes with a harissa aioli. Never thought of harissa aioli and I love it! Our server was very nice if not a little wook-ish and our dinner was tasty and affordable. I'd come back.
google avatar

Jodi C.

Yelp
Super friendly and great atmosphere. There is no happy hour on Friday, but the drinks are so reasonable and delicious, I didn't care!
google avatar

Kate L.

Yelp
Dew Drop Inn scores again! Karagge chicken and the best frites in town. Plus $7 Spanish house wine makes for a cheap, cheerful, and simply delicious pre-NYE celebration https://www.dewdropinndenver.com

Yelp
Reasonably priced, tasty food, big portions!!! As everyone else has mentioned, this is such a gem. They don't take reservations, but we arrived at 5:30pm on a Saturday and it wasn't busy at all. This is a cocktail lounge, but they have a smaller food menu. Don't sleep on the food. We were pretty hungry, so we ordered a full meal. We ordered the fries, shishitos, karaage chicken, and the mussels. I was so excited for the mussels but they tasted frozen. Not surprising , we are a landlocked state after all. The broth was delicious and the portion was huge for $16, but I probably wouldn't order them again. Everything else was good. Chicken was perfectly crispy, shishitos had great flavor (we got a spicy batch), and how can you go wrong with fried. I will caveat that the karaage isn't super authentic, more karaage- inspired. The coating was spot on, but the flavoring is a bit too strong in soy for me, tasted like they used dark soy in the marinade. It was still good and didn't impact my rating. For drinks, we had the Double D and the Italian Pony. The Double D was really refreshing and so so good, but I would not get the Italian pony again. It was too licoricey and bitter for my tastes. The vibe was super chill and unlike most bars in Denver, you can actually have a conversation here. Please bring back the poutine, it looked delicious!
google avatar

Bianca C.

Yelp
The food was delicious, the service was friendly, and atmosphere was perfect. Reminded me of a place I would easily find in Savannah, GA. A dangerous place to be walking distance from.
google avatar

Anna F.

Yelp
I am a big fan of Horseshoe so I was super excited when I saw that Dew Drop was going in closer to my house. I wasn't totally sure what to expect, but I was definitely impressed. Same cozy vibes as Horseshoe but classed up a little with way fewer bros. My sister and I went on a week night and sat at the bar. The bartender was friendly but not over the top; she answered our questions without coming over to bug us constantly. Great cocktail menu and the cocktails we did get were well executed. Great bang for your buck too! I love seeing a standard cocktail for $10 or less- sick of paying $15 for a tiny cocktail. The only food we tried were the shishito peppers which were hot and crispy with a tasty sauce. Looking forward to going back soon to try some more food and cocktails!
google avatar

Jessica A.

Yelp
I really like this place. Great service, outside seating is lovely, food is delicious and the drinks are perfect! It's great for a little dinner or even snacks with a beverage. The location is fun because there are lots of places to walk nearby if you're on a little food/drink excursion. I highly recommend coming in and trying it out!
google avatar

Mark S.

Yelp
Beef tacos were a miss but the owner did comp. Service was attentive and friendly. Atmosphere was cozy, just a little dark. Food selection could have been great unless you like mussels, which were fantastic. Overall give it a b score... ok, but not my full cup of tea.

Todd N.

Yelp
Great vibe to it and original drinks. JD behind the bar is a cool cat. And his favorite drink is called the "paper plane".

Craig K.

Yelp
The Cuban sandwich was so good! Our server was an initially a bit slow to arrive but once he did, everything thing was great. I will be back.
google avatar

Molly M.

Yelp
Loved the vibes inside- slightly upscale without being too pretentious. Plenty of alcoholic and non alc beverages available. We enjoyed some draft beer and red wine, all delicious. We ordered the Mediterranean plate to share per the staff recommendations. It looked delicious but tragically the hummus was so spicy and basically inedible, and this is coming from people who normally enjoy spicy foods. The French fries were the star of the show- the aioli sauce they came with was perfection. Overall good vibes here and would definitely come back if were in the area again.
google avatar

Chelsea D.

Yelp
Came in because we were intrigued by the veggie cakes and WOW they were so freaking good! They were packed with old bay flavor and served with a lemon aioli. I love crab cakes and honestly didn't even miss the crab in these they were so good! Love that it's a bar, but also has a slightly upscale vibe without feeling pretentious and charging $20 for a drink. The staff was super friendly and service was quick. Will definitely be back!

Jenny T.

Yelp
What's up with unhappy bartenders? The lady who waited on us was in cut off, jeans shorts w/holes in the wrong places and had a scowl on her face. Her unhappiness emanated off her. I also had the same experience with the drinks not being full- my martinis were 3/4. The Cubano was tiny and the "side salad" that came with it was less than the size of a small coaster. It's a good thing there are a ton of other great bars in Denver! On to the next...
google avatar

Kevin N.

Yelp
They've got great happy hours deals, and how can you say no to a mountain of french fries?! They have happy hour everyday from open-6pm and 10pm-close. There's great patio seating as well. Sangria Very Much - Large and refreshing sangria! Margarita - NOt super strong, but very tasty. Fries - Ask for all the sauces! I loved how thing and crispy they were.
google avatar

Ben C.

Yelp
Cutest little neighborhood bar! Tucked away on 17th, the welcoming patio is perfect for warm autumn evenings for a cocktail or two and some small bites! The hubs had the "I am on a patio" cocktail with cucumber infused vodka- very refreshing! The service was prompt and inviting! The inside is very cozy and inviting with dim lighting. We ordered the fried green tomatoes that were ok. They were lacking a sauce or even just some salt. However the couple next to us ordered the clams that smelled and looked divine! Their happy hour is unbeatable with 5$ cocktails from opening until 6 pm. Don't tell anyone about this place, keep it a neighborhood gem!
google avatar

Emily M.

Yelp
I can't believe I haven't been here before! While it's the same owners as the Horseshoe it's an entirely different vibe - it's got a dark and classy, not pretentious, old-school cocktail lounge thing going on, and I'm all for it. The variety of seating at tables, high tops, and the bar (with decent chairs) makes it a nice spot for any sort of meeting or get together. The happy hour is great too! Tasty classic cocktails with a twist. The bartenders/servers are friendly and not overly attentive but are right there when you need a refill. I didn't try any food this time, but I have no doubt I'll be back!
google avatar

Hannah R.

Yelp
Cute cocktail bar with great interior and different cocktails. Waitress with very kind and informative. Felt like a cozy spot back in time. :)

Michelle R.

Yelp
Great spot to meet for happy hour with your friends. Fun atmosphere and good drinks. Enjoyed the patio area.
google avatar

Jeanne F.

Yelp
Love this place. And I know I'll find a drink that I love but it just wasn't the one I got this time, though maybe I was just working outside my comfort zone. That said everyone was super kind, roasted veggies w hummus were tasty. I would be super pumped about them getting some outdoor heaters, but hopefully w them getting busier they will make that happen. I would give 4.5 stars but since I can't I give 5. Great vibe, next time mussels.
google avatar

Megan H.

Yelp
Excellent spot for some drinks and shared plates! I had the Pimm's Cup (delicious), a French 75 (more delicious) and a delicious glass of Malbec (yes, all of the alcohols). The five of us needed a snack so we had the shishitos, fried green tomatoes and falafel. All excellent! The fried chicken and fries at the table next to us smelled incredible. Loved their little patio and the scene inside. I'll definitely be back!
google avatar

Phil H.

Yelp
Business hours on Yelp were wrong. They were closed by 10:30pm. We were really looking forward to giving them a try.
google avatar

Lawrence M.

Yelp
The happy hour is fantastic with affordable prices! I strongly suggest trying the pear mule. The outdoor patio is lovely, especially during sunny days. Additionally, the service is exceptional, and the staff is very accommodating for big groups.

Isabella C.

Yelp
Server was patient and made great recommendations! Building was easy to access for friend with a mobility challenge too. Always appreciated!
google avatar

Darika S.

Yelp
I really like this place for happy hour. The drinks are pretty good and like the glassware. They took away the Brussels that I loved so much when it's not seasonal. But this is a good place for a drink. My husband likes their mussels too!
google avatar

John S.

Yelp
This is a comfortable and friendly place with very good food. We had a "picnic plate" (charcuterie board) and a cubano with fries. The charcuterie board was generous and tasty, and the cubano was the best we have had. The shoestring potatoes were crisp and plentiful. We will definitely be back.
google avatar

Rae M.

Yelp
Very cute spot to stop in for a glass of wine and mussels. The food menu could be better but the staff is very friendly and the atmosphere is great for a meeting up with friends or a relaxing drink
google avatar

Philip C.

Yelp
This is a new kid in a pretty saturated 17th Ave corridor, but wow are they great! Me and the hubs had a quick happy hour cocktail (Svedka and soda for him, a "I'm on a Paito" signature for me) and tried the fried green tomatoes. I requested my signature cocktail come with less syrup, and the staff was happy to oblige/ and while we're on the subject, Dew Drop's staff is stellar: attentive but not hovering, kind but not sugary sweet in a cheap way. They went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed. The only reason I can't give them five stars is the fried green tomatoes: crispy on the outer, juicy on the inside, but INCREDIBLY BLAND. If they continue to prepare them as they do, I'd suggest adding a salt shaker to your patio tablescapes.
google avatar

Frankie C.

Yelp
Well I've lived close enough to this place for an amount of time that makes it embarrassing I haven't been here sooner. Especially as a self proclaimed foodie. Just kidding. I don't call myself that, i'm more of a drinkie. Well the drinks here are fabulous. We had a baby flight of wine across the street but that restaurant was slammed with patrons, so we came here for some food. Of course had some more drinks though and I enjoyed the martinis. The Mediterranean plate was excellent and adequately sized even as a half size. Those carrots are a divine gift. Thank you dew drop ... I'll be back asap because I need to try those veggie cakes xoxo
google avatar

Yelp
I'm so Excited to finally have this kind of energy in this space! Super chill bar scene with great service. Restaurant seating available with a full menu and full service. Our faves were the Poutine, Brussels with bacon and Falafel. The whole left side of the menu is a MUST TRY. Come for the good food. Stay for the cool vibes. The original bar,, new tiger bar top, velvet bathroom walls. A++++ The Dew Drop Inn is a cool little corner of Denver.
