We really enjoyed our dining experience at De.wan 1958. The ambiance was inviting, the service was attentive, and the food itself was flavourful and thoughtfully presented. We shared an appetiser, main courses, and dessert, which came to around RM120 per person, quite reasonable for what’s considered the higher end of casual dining.
That said, giving it four stars as it just lacked a little of that special spark, the kind of distinctive flair or wow factor you might expect from a restaurant associated with the iconic Chef Wan. It’s hard to define exactly what was missing, but was hoping for a touch more creativity or finesse that would elevate the experience from good to truly unforgettable.
Still, De.wan 1958 delivers solid, satisfying food and is well worth visiting for a taste of elevated Malaysian cuisine in a stylish space.
