"Sunny and cheerful like the local celebrity Chef Wan, the room is inviting and bustling. Similarly, the food is guaranteed to lift your spirits with big tropical flavours. Whet your appetite with pomelo salad with crispy prawn cheeks in kerabu lime dressing and a hint of fish sauce. For mains, go for bakar bakar, BBQ meat or seafood that comes with your choice of the chef’s mouth-watering sauces. Portion sizes are big enough for sharing." - Michelin Inspector

De.Wan 1958 truly lives up to its reputation as one of the best spots for authentic Malaysian cuisine served with style. Every dish bursts with rich, traditional flavours that remind you of home but with a refined touch. The presentation is beautiful, from the vibrant colours of the sambal to the elegant plating of the mains. The portions are generous, and you can tell that every item is prepared with care and passion. The restaurant’s ambiance is warm and classy, making it perfect for family gatherings, celebrations, or even a casual lunch. Service is attentive and friendly, adding to the overall pleasant dining experience. Overall, De.Wan 1958 offers a wonderful balance between traditional taste and modern dining comfort. Definitely worth visiting if you’re craving authentic Malaysian flavours in an elevated setting.

Had an amazing dining experience at De.Wan Restaurant, The Linc! The food was absolutely superb — we tried the Ayam Salai Cili Padi and Seabass Fillet Masam Manis, both bursting with flavor and beautifully presented. Love that they serve three types of rice, unlimited refills! The ambiance is cool and cozy, not too crowded — perfect for a relaxing meal. But what really stood out was the exceptional service. The staff were incredibly attentive and friendly, making sure everything was just right. Special shout-out to Ayad, who was super nice and had a great chat with us. Overall, 10/10 experience — great food, great place, and amazing people. Definitely coming back!

A lovely restaurant serving amazing Malay dishes. The staff were friendly, approachable, and attentive, which made the dining experience even better. The seabass was cooked perfectly, tender and flavorful; the curry dishes were rich, aromatic, and full of depth. Even the pomegranate rice stood out, fragrant and delicious, adding a unique touch to the meal. Overall, a highly satisfying dining experience for anyone looking to enjoy authentic Malay cuisine. PS. This is our favourite branch! ☺️

The staff here are super nice! They greeted us with a smile, helped us choose the best dishes, and made sure everything was perfect. You can tell they care about their customers — great service all around! The food was absolutely delicious! Every dish was full of flavor and served hot. The chicken was tender, the pasta was creamy, and the dessert was the perfect sweet ending. Portion sizes were just right, and you can tell everything was freshly made. Definitely coming back!

14 Oct 2025, We flew in from Singapore just for a meal here, and it was a decision we don't regret. The authentic dishes were bursting with flavour, each one a testament to genuine culinary tradition. Beyond the exceptional food, the service was truly commendable—attentive, knowledgeable, and delivered with genuine warmth. 28 Oct 2025, Today, we drove up to KL fr SG just to have another experience at De.Wan 1958 by Chef Wan - to enjoy different platters of food and desserts, including those recommended in the menu. See attached. Attended well by Naatasya and Mohib. Thank you. 😉

Our first time here. We should’ve come here sooner. The place is nicely decorated. A bit over the top (in a nice way) but that’s Chef Wan for you. If you are contemplating to come here, I suggest you make the move now. Haha. Ok the food. We tried The Kerabu pucuk paku with kerang (refreshingly nice). Sotong sambal petai (not too spicy, nice flavour, petai was fresh), Cendawan masak lemak (this one so-so with slightly overpowered taste of turmeric), the telur dadar (so fluffy and portion enough for 4), we have keliat labu as dessert (nice and sweet). Yes, of course the 2 of us cannot finish all the food, so we tapau all in a nicely decorated paper bag. Special mention- cucur udang looks nice but we didn’t order as the size is quite big. Maybe next time. And of our waiter Mr Ziad is nice too.

We really enjoyed our dining experience at De.wan 1958. The ambiance was inviting, the service was attentive, and the food itself was flavourful and thoughtfully presented. We shared an appetiser, main courses, and dessert, which came to around RM120 per person, quite reasonable for what’s considered the higher end of casual dining. That said, giving it four stars as it just lacked a little of that special spark, the kind of distinctive flair or wow factor you might expect from a restaurant associated with the iconic Chef Wan. It’s hard to define exactly what was missing, but was hoping for a touch more creativity or finesse that would elevate the experience from good to truly unforgettable. Still, De.wan 1958 delivers solid, satisfying food and is well worth visiting for a taste of elevated Malaysian cuisine in a stylish space.

The restaurant is strategically located at downtown and inside “The Linc” that can arrive by various modes of transport, atmosphere is nice with a lot of local cultural elements throughout, and it is quite spacious between tables despite a lot of guests during weekend dinner time… We ordered a set menu which is for 8-10 people and there are variety of selections, and we could not finish all at the end, by the way there are 10 of us, each portion is big too. Taste of most of the food is not bad, especially the satay, fish tastes great… Service throughout the night was good, which we think should rank the best out of all categories… It is a nice experience with not too affordable pricing overall, and the restaurant is Michelin rated for 2023 and 2024, worth a try for those that like local cuisine…
