"Sunny and cheerful like the local celebrity Chef Wan, the room is inviting and bustling. Similarly, the food is guaranteed to lift your spirits with big tropical flavours. Whet your appetite with pomelo salad with crispy prawn cheeks in kerabu lime dressing and a hint of fish sauce. For mains, go for bakar bakar, BBQ meat or seafood that comes with your choice of the chef’s mouth-watering sauces. Portion sizes are big enough for sharing." - Michelin Inspector

Our first time here. We should’ve come here sooner. The place is nicely decorated. A bit over the top (in a nice way) but that’s Chef Wan for you. If you are contemplating to come here, I suggest you make the move now. Haha. Ok the food. We tried The Kerabu pucuk paku with kerang (refreshingly nice). Sotong sambal petai (not too spicy, nice flavour, petai was fresh), Cendawan masak lemak (this one so-so with slightly overpowered taste of turmeric), the telur dadar (so fluffy and portion enough for 4), we have keliat labu as dessert (nice and sweet). Yes, of course the 2 of us cannot finish all the food, so we tapau all in a nicely decorated paper bag. Special mention- cucur udang looks nice but we didn’t order as the size is quite big. Maybe next time. And of our waiter Mr Ziad is nice too.

We really enjoyed our dining experience at De.wan 1958. The ambiance was inviting, the service was attentive, and the food itself was flavourful and thoughtfully presented. We shared an appetiser, main courses, and dessert, which came to around RM120 per person, quite reasonable for what’s considered the higher end of casual dining. That said, giving it four stars as it just lacked a little of that special spark, the kind of distinctive flair or wow factor you might expect from a restaurant associated with the iconic Chef Wan. It’s hard to define exactly what was missing, but was hoping for a touch more creativity or finesse that would elevate the experience from good to truly unforgettable. Still, De.wan 1958 delivers solid, satisfying food and is well worth visiting for a taste of elevated Malaysian cuisine in a stylish space.

Food is very good here. Dishes are very unique. Service is pretty bad though. No one waited on us and we had to flag down a waiter many times just to ask for basic things. It’s worth trying but I don’t think I would come back. Lots of good food in KL for cheaper price with better service.

The restaurant is strategically located at downtown and inside “The Linc” that can arrive by various modes of transport, atmosphere is nice with a lot of local cultural elements throughout, and it is quite spacious between tables despite a lot of guests during weekend dinner time… We ordered a set menu which is for 8-10 people and there are variety of selections, and we could not finish all at the end, by the way there are 10 of us, each portion is big too. Taste of most of the food is not bad, especially the satay, fish tastes great… Service throughout the night was good, which we think should rank the best out of all categories… It is a nice experience with not too affordable pricing overall, and the restaurant is Michelin rated for 2023 and 2024, worth a try for those that like local cuisine…

Ordered one of the sets (forgot the name!) and it was really nice, not too heavy but still filling. The cucur udang was a standout and the satay was tender and juicy. Loved the classy interior, very elegant. Prices are high, but the quality of the food makes up for it.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ An Exceptional Dining Experience at Chef Wan’s Restaurant, The Linc (Our 2nd Visit!) We came all the way from Singapore just to dine here again — that’s how much we love Chef Wan’s food! This was our second visit, and it was every bit as delightful as the first. The highlight for us (again!) was the Lobster Gulai, rich, creamy, and bursting with authentic flavours. It’s our second time ordering it, and it still impressed us beyond words — the lobster was perfectly cooked, the sauce fragrant and comforting, a true masterpiece. We also absolutely loved the Ikan Botok Botol — fresh, tender, and infused with aromatic spices that complemented the dish beautifully. From the warm service to the inviting ambience, everything about Chef Wan’s restaurant makes the journey worthwhile. It’s not just a meal; it’s an experience that fills both the heart and the stomach with joy. We’ll definitely be back again — Chef Wan never disappoints! ❤️🍽️

It was a truly wonderful experience celebrating my birthday here! The service was excellent, and the staff were very friendly and helpful throughout. The food was delicious, and the team gave us great suggestions for combinations that worked perfectly. The ambience was lovely, with beautiful spots around the restaurant that made for some great photo opportunities. A special thanks to Mr. Ayad for his exceptional assistance and hospitality – he really made the evening memorable.

We came here for high tea on a Sunday and it was quiet, which was ideal as we had an infant. The lamb broth was stunning and we also really enjoyed the fresh juices. I think that although the presentation was great, some of the dry pastry selections were a bit hit and miss. And I wish the dessert was brought separately at the end of the meal, as by the time we got to it, it had mostly melted. The service from our waiter, Mubashir, was excellent. Overall we really enjoyed the meal!
