Beleaguered Dexter Brewhouse Is Finally Calling It Quits - Eater Seattle

"Dexter Brewhouse is closing on February 1 due to challenges and inability to find its footing despite several efforts to adapt. Originally opened as Gastropod in Sodo, it rebranded to Mollusk in 2015 and then to Dexter Brewhouse in 2017. It struggled with customer turnout despite positive reception and underwent numerous changes including menu and staff adjustments." - Megan Hill

Magnuson Cafe and Brewery Will Have an Awesome View and Dog-Friendly Deck - Eater Seattle

"Dexter Brewhouse, sibling to Magnuson Cafe and Brewery, offers a similar menu featuring pub classics. Executive chef Jon Langley oversees both kitchens with support from experienced staff. The venue focuses on small-batch beers under the direction of co-founder and head brewer Cody Morris." - Adam H. Callaghan

Great food, if a little pricey, and very fun staff. Cheap and delicious beer as well, with lots of different cocktails and experimentation with style. I had the fish & chips and it was fried perfectly with buttery fish inside and the french fries are also great. Happy hour 3-7 ever weekday.

Great atmosphere for a work lunch. Generous portions, relatively high-end pub food. Tastes great. Really nothing wrong with the place rather than something mind-blowing. Will return!

Let's start with the good. The owner, Richard, has been there during both of my visits and he's wonderfully friendly, talking to me both trips. There are large TVs showing all manner of sports and for the area it's quite spacious meaning you can actually have a conversation with your friends. The beer is middle of the road. In a different area it would be great, but Seattle is full of great breweries so you're really coming here for the food and location. The food is fine, but pricey. I get it, the rent in that area's high, everything in Seattle is pricey, etc. Where thing's go from "meh" to ugly is the service. On my second trip, it took far too long after our order was put in before we were told they were out of wings, no cutlery was provided until we flagged down the hostess, no water refills. Nothing rude, but it felt less like service and more like we were afterthoughts in a half full restaurant. When you go I recommend sitting at the bar, I found that to be a better experience.

Been here twice now, once for Valentine's day and once for apps and drinks at the bar. Every beer I've tried has been interesting and flavorful, and the staff is helpful. They have a bunch of good wine bottles for $28. Happy hour food prices are excellent, a little pricey for what you get after but everything is good, though not the best in town. Definitely recommend, especially if you are walking distance like me!

Cool place, decent food and Mollusk beers. Pretty good selection and a cider and small amount of other drinks. Went for a weekend brunch and the fried chicken sandwich was pretty good. My wife had the grilled cheese and tomatoe soup. She seemed to really enjoy it. Lots of bar and bar height seating, but not a lot of tables and chairs. Would go back for sure.

Fantastic food all around. Best pork chop I've ever tasted, and a lamb Cuban sandwich that was out of this world. Dozens of beers to try, including lots of experimental stuff that they'll be happy to talk to you about. Atmosphere is really great, too. Low-lighting and barrels everywhere. Not the best for kids, but you probably shouldn't expect that from a brewery.

This place was really well designed. Cool light fixtures and murals on the walls. They have a lot of live events and there was live jazz when we went. Beer and food both good. Fun date night spot! Very important detail: when you say extra crispy fries, they actually listen! 🙌

Long wait times for food. 20+ minutes for a sandwich - and it was not in a rush hour - the place was half-empty. Then after the wait it turned out the order of one of our company somehow was not brought (and not even made), which meant another wait and him eating when everyone else was done with their food. Half-decent place would try to make up for this in some way (forgotten piece on the house for instance), but not here. Quality of the food and beer was good though - extra 1 star for that.
