Dexter Creamery

Parents recommended the place to me after they tried it. I like how you can do a serve and weigh type of frozen yogurt style all while they have hard serve and traditional ice cream options. Line for ordering wasn’t very clear and people kept getting ahead of me and since I was on a 1st date I kept my cool. The efficiency could be improved but they go above and beyond in quality. They also have a wonderful board game selection. :)

We love Dexter Creamery! They started out with just frozen yogurt and toppings and over time added hard serve (Hudsonville), sorbet (the same Dole whip you get at Disney!!), Along milk ice cream, some groceries like milk and cheese, coffee and likely more! They have board games you can play while you eat your ice cream. They do a lot for the local Dexter community as well.

Very friendly establishment and kind service, clean and decent options for being small and a mix of froyo and ice cream. If you’re in the mood, definitely go here instead of pink berry. A steal for the price.

One of the best authentic ice cream shops I have ever visited. The building itself is historical and sits in the downtown area of Dexter. Granted they are temporarily closed at the moment, they will be opening back up anywhere from February to March. At least that’s what the friendly employee told me when I asked about the hours/days of operation in general. This cute shop offers an endless list of flavors and options to every one of different ages. They have ice cream, soft serve, and frozen yogurt. From shakes to sundaes, you cannot go wrong with any choice you make to indulge on a frozen treat. The selection of goodies you can sprinkle onto your dessert blow any chain ice cream corporation out of the water. Even the cones themselves offer variety from original, to dipped in chocolaty coating, to a festive fruity sensation. The prices themselves vary depending on what you choose and all are reasonable in today’s market. If you dine in, they have a nice selection of board games and card games for the children and adults to play together. The atmosphere along with the employees are welcoming, fun, and a great place for families and friends to gather. When my family and I visited back in October, it was decked out with all types of Fall and Halloween themed decorations. We really had a wonderful time dining in and playing Chutes and Ladders while enjoying our delicious treats. I cannot wait for them to open back up because I have a hankering for that Traverse City Black Cherry ice cream and the fantastic customer service the employees display.

Best place for ice cream in town! Definitely a must see. I love the utterly delicious the kids love building their own ice cream.

You ween't a creamery 4 years ago... But you are now! The Mooville ice cream selection is great and the service was fast and friendly and portions generous. Didn't get froyo but the toppings looked fresh and well stocked with multiple flavors as well. Great spot in downtown Dexter!

Such a great place! Its very clean and well organized, the soft serve ice cream is really tasty and you really can't beat the variety of toppings. They seem to be always adding new things to the menu, including regular ice cream in a cone, and now they serve Zingerman's coffee as well. There are games available to hang out if you'd like, and there are stand up tables outside as well. The staff is always friendly and helpful. We love to visit whenever we're in downtown Dexter!

It’s such a nice chill place and the ice cream flavors are delicious.

I was very surprised at the amount of dairy free options that were available at Dexter Creamery. I got a watermelon/pineapple dole whip soft serve twist, but there was also a raspberry sorbet and almond milk vanilla. On top of hard serve and soft serve, they offer malts, smoothies, many topping options - a huge variety. I couldn't see the hard serve options because it's absolute chaos inside. The line is very confusing, there were so many little kids running around in such a small space that it can be a bit overwhelming, but a fun stop if you're in downtown Dexter.

After lunch rush with single worker who was hard working and competent. Many choices in this place! You can self-serve soft-serve, then visit two candy bars. There are a couple cases of fancy flavors of Moo-ville ice cream as well. Several varieties of traditional and waffle cones. Not sure why they sell cheese, but they do. Anyway, make you decisions quickly out of consideration for the other customers. You should come back later to try something else! That is what I plan to do....

Such a great place! So many yummy flavors and a plethora of topping choices. They also have hand dipped Mooville ice cream. Smoothies, milkshakes, malts and coffee drinks are also available. Wonderful local business to support and enjoy!

GREAT ice cream. This place really helped me during Covid. Items that couldn't be found...tp and the like was sold here to help out the customers. Place order, pay order brought to curbside for our convenience and safety. THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH.

We stopped by the Creamy after a B2B trail walk/picnic! They serve Moo-ville Ice Cream and well as frozen yogurt. I've only had Moo-ville Ice Cream once before at Station 66 in Battle Creek. It's no Ben & Jerry's, but it's local (based out of Nashville, MI) and they have fun flavors! Dexter has a smaller selection BUT enough to find your favorites. They have the fro-yo machines with a variety of flavors as well! It's obviously no longer self-serve during this time, but good to know for the future! I ordered the java chip (coffee ice cream with chocolate chunks and a fudge swirl) and my partner had the mint chip (self explanatory, ha). The scoops were really generous. I really LOVED the magic spoons, brought me back to childhood. Love the small town, wholesomeness of this spot!

I stopped by here after a walk on the b2b trail. Super location right in town. They have many options including frozen yogurt with toppings (like pinkberry), traditional packed ice cream, along with shakes and malts. I got a double scoop waffle cone peanut butter brownie bits. It was great and satisfied my craving. It was really busy with only two staff members working so the wait was a little long. The space is small so there were a lot of people packed in which made me a little uncomfortable with covid still raging. The cones are store-bought, which is fine. I really like fresh waffle cones and I've been spoiled with some other ice cream spots I frequent. Over all a great small town ice cream joint.

Exemplary community business. The owner is active in the community and generous with their resources and money, opting to make an investment in Dexter by opening this business :). The ice cream is crazy good, the frozen yogurt is crazy good, the toppings are numerous and always stocked, and I've heard the shakes are great. Plus, they've got all these board games to play while you eat, which is everything :D

Cookie Monster (Oreos, cookie dough, and "Blue Moon" ice cream of indeterminate flavor) balanced my daughter's desire for bright colors and my dislike of MOOville's "Super Cow" color-over-taste flavor --- but still consisted largely of artificial dye. Everything got blue or green, just absolutely _everything_. I liked the frozen yogurt much more than the ice cream; it's by-the-pound (gram? ounce?), so you can get a small taste or a huge bowl. There are a bunch of toppings, but I actually just wanted the frozen yogurt itself. We saw another table buy and assemble a gingerbread house kit; this place is a one-stop shop for sugar and primary colors. The indoors venue has helped on many days that weren't conducive to Dairy Queen for one reason or another --- and I like the food here much better. Great yogurt, a nice place, and fine ice cream --- a very useful place on Main St.

Frozen yogurt is good but would definitely say it's more of a experience type place than anything else. Kids like to go there occasionally, but would choose DQ 9 times out of 10. Service is very friendly, prices are fair.

Great place for a sweet treat. I can't wait for the spring time when they open back up for their season. They offer so many toppings and something for everyone. They have vegan & dairy free options too!

Really cute ice cream shop! They have a wide selection of flavors to choose from (including Corn Off the Cob). The employee who helped us was very patient and let us sample a few flavors before making our final decision. I do think it's a bit pricey for ice cream, but it was worth it for a date night.

Huge portions, rich, creamy texture with strong and classic flavors. We loved how the dairy is sourced from local farms, and you can really taste the difference. Go for the waffle cone! We only tried the ice cream, but we'll definitely be back for the froyo! Only minor thing keeping it from a 5-star would be a recommendation for trying a 1-2 more unique flavors. Otherwise, not to miss on a sunny day after picking blueberries nearby!

Cute ice cream store! The frozen yoghurt was excellent and had a variety of toppings including boba. The ice cream, however, was grainy and not that sweet.

I love froyo places that have a large topping selection and Dexter creamery didn't disappoint! The fro-yo was delicious and fair pricing and the toppings were amazing. I love this. I was in the area for a long weekend and visited twice cause it was so good! I highly recommend it.

You won't find a cuter town than Dexter and the creamery is apart of the allure. The owners are amazing and attentive. The staff, warm and friendly. We LOVE MOOville ice cream and besides getting the occasional cone, we drop by and purchase our ice cream for home as well. Love supporting great people and businesses and this one is no exception.

My favorite place in Dexter, Michigan is this little gem! Friendly, local ownership hiring our local young people, offering delicious seasonal favorites as well as good old standbys. I love that on days I'm feeling decadent, I can go crazy with a higher-calorie choice and top it with crushed Heath Bar, boba, cheesecake pieces, and marshmallow topping.... and on days where I'm trying to be more health conscious, I can choose a low-fat, lower-calorie, guilt-free option and top it with fresh fruit! Reasonably priced, and don't forget to sign up for the rewards program! Give it a visit; you won't regret it! It's a favorite of the whole family!

Good ice cream and a fun place to eat, but it was noisy and we had to repeat everything and shout so the girl could take our order. She seemed pretty annoyed at us when she asked us to repeat ourselves, too they serve ice cream from mooville dairy which is in Nashville, Michigan. Great local product! I had the nutty buddy ice cream and it was delicious. The single scoop portion is very generous, that's what I would recommend ordering. They also offer self-serve frozen yogurt with customizable toppings (pay per pound). If ice cream isn't your thing, they have coffee too!

Dexter Creamery is a great community focused and locally owned business. In terms of their actual product, they offer tons of rotating varieties of frozen yogurt and always have flavors available with dietary restrictions in mind. To go along with this, they have a great selection of toppings- something for everyone. Their pricing model gives you a value and is much cheaper than other shops that charge solely based on weight. Highly recommended, you'll be glad you stopped in.

Went here with a bunch of friends and everything seemed great at first. I am allergic to gluten and dairy so I didn't think I would be able to find anything for me, but they surprisingly had a number of options offering both gluten and dairy free. Any time I've had ice cream that's claimed to be free of these things I've never had a problem, but my stomach hurt so bad after eating from this creamery that I don't know I would ever go back or recommend it to people with allergies of any kinds. Improper labeling of products is unacceptable.

This frozen yogurt shop is a delight to an already inviting downtown Dexter. The atmosphere is very quaint and inviting, fitting in well with the vintage feel of Dexter. The staff are always friendly and do an excellent job of maintaining the cleanliness of the shop. Most importantly, the yogurt and toppings are tasty and fresh. A few things worth mentioning about this lovely shop are those issues that many froyo shops fail at that Dexter Creamery gets right. 1) The yogurt is kept cold and has a nice consistency at Dexter Creamery. Many froyo shops have a watery, odd consistency to their froyo, particularly on hot days. Dexter Creamery maintains a really nice consistency and flavor in all their yogurts. 2) The toppings are kept orderly and fresh, so they always look and taste appealing. Many froyo shops let the toppings get stale, smashed and messy, which is very off-putting. Moreover, the fruit at many froyo shops often looks a little old and gross. Dexter Creamery toppings are always appealing to the eye and taste buds. 3) Clean! Many froyo shops are messy, because staff don't keep up with the sloppiness of customers. As mentioned above, Dexter Creamery does a great job of maintaining the cleanliness of the entire shop. If you like froyo or would like to try froyo, I highly recommend this wonderful shop!

Great place to order during the pandemic. Easy online order or when you are at the store. Drive up to the store when your order is ready. Easy order and a nice drive to Dexter from Ann Arbor.

This was good frozen yogurt. The watermelon was yummy! Make sure & try the other flavors before you commit to one! Some of them have a strong flavor. Overall, it's a nice, clean place with fully stocked toppings & a nice staff.

Really great fro yo! The staff were really friendly and helpful. A cute location and I am in love with the watermelon sorbet flavor! Will definitely be bringing friends back for more!

It's stated that Zingermans Coffee is served here, but the employee literally forgot to put the espresso in the latte that was ordered. So the received product was just hot milk. May choose other coffee options other than the Dexter Creamery.

First thing noticed here was just how clean it is! Most frozen yogurt places have toppings and sticky yogurt everywhere, but not here! Delicious frozen yogurt and so many tasty toppings to choose from. They even offer popsicles for your pup! Fido approved. This shop is a perfect addition to charming downtown Dexter and I look forward to having a treat here on many summer days.

I have only one reason for giving this great little shop a three star rating; the product, friendly service and nice atmosphere are all on point. But when I asked for a cup of water after I finished my yogurt I was told no, but I could buy a bottle of water. Really? You can't put out a pitcher of WATER for your guests? Isn't that just a simple extension of good customer service?

It is a great fro-yo place in town. It is nicely decorated and the prices are good. Pretty quick to pay and easy to. I would recommend this place to many people of they like sweets. This place is better than most fro-yo places and that is saying something since it is in a small town.

Stopped by for a little treat after lunch and am glad we did. The yogurt was tasty with many flavors available. There were also tons of add ones including chocolate sauce, hot fudge, and whipped cream. You can choose your cup size and load it up and get charged one price, or you can "customize" and get whatever amount you want and then pay by the weight. My waistline will not be happy that I found this local creamery!

This creamery has really great service, the staff are really great as well! The yogurt is also amazing, some of the best frozen yogurt I've had! I can't wait to go back with my family! 10/10!
