I visited this location. I was amazed, the ice cream was great. The flavor was awesome. It tasted like my grandma’s ice cream from the old days so smooth and texture and the flavor was incredible. I will go there again, I live out in the suburbs and I did not mind driving, I was lucky to met the owner who offer us a sample of the great yogurt with fruits. They have it and it’s incredibly great. I hope the best for this place and we have to support local. Thank you for keeping us enjoying this good ice cream and empanadas and all the items that you have .

Super cute place! And AMAZING smoothies! Went there for the first time today and was very impressed by all the handmade cold treats they offer! Everything here is hand made. Ice cream, yogurts, Popsicle bars, smoothies, juice etc. Very much worth the trip over there!

I’ve been coming here for the past year and I have to say my last visit on June 10 was terrible. I order three sandwiches 2 were ham, egg and cheese and one chicken and the lady that was in the back. I actually never seen her before she did a terrible job the sandwiches were bad was a tiny piece of egg and for the chicken sandwich forget it was like a tiny piece of chicken in there I am highly upset about this because never happened before with the other girls.i have always enjoyed my favorite milanesa sandwich and I am scared to go back and order another one. and last, but at least I ordered by phone. I got there and I still waited for those sandwiches to be done about 30 minutes.

This place is horrible do not order from here and waste your money they do not how to make elote I never been this disgusted barely any corn all Mayo and cheese in one and the other had so much butter it was overwhelming cheese was way to salty honestly I just wanted to give them a try again and it was not worth it either make elote at home which 100 times better or find different place because here is not it to get one

I liked it! Although it was my first time there. I really enjoyed it. Good variety of ice cream flavors and toppings. Parking might be an issue. But, it's Chicago what else is new.

This time I pre-order for the next day pick up, i ordered 20 total and they were not great tasted dry old like if they game me the ones from the day before. I ordered empanadas before and was great I don't know what happened this time

Exceptional customer service, even 10 minutes before closing. I'm a charter bus driver and I was looking for a late night meal. I wasn't aware they closed at 9pm. I walked in at 8:45 and ordered a Cuban sandwich. With no complaints they cooked it right up. The sandwich was a perfect combination of everything that makes a Cuban sandwich. Their attention to detail and customer service puts this place on the map!

Pro: Tons of ice cream options, Spanish speaking crew, bathroom onsite Con: Paid street parking, low agua fresca options Swing by Disney's birth home and saw this place in the Hispanics area of Chicago. Got a banana strawberry smoothie, the staff scooped the ice cream and blended it. Was expecting juice and milk, but it's a nice touch. Mangonada was just as delightfully as what I could get in Southern California. Legit place.

Rude customer service and horrible experience, dont even waste your time. Go to a real Michoacána, our pastry was completely burnt!!

Never disappointed . I like getting strawberry yogurt with fruit , corn , ice cream, empanadas Service it's super fast compared to all michoacanas , can't stand the waiting line at the Michoacánas I prefer to come here , totally recommend it

First time here, WON'T 3THE LAST! Friendly service and a pretty good variety of options on their menu. This time my son and I ordered smoothies, the Green smoothie and the La Tropical Vida. Both very good.

We like getting a corn on a cup, ron con pasas ice cream , arepa de queso is very good, yogurt con frutas This place is very clean the wait time ususlly is not that long. Service is good. Is a nice place to spend time with the family any season of the year specially winter when there is not much to do

I'm so happy this place is a quick 5 minute walk from my house. It's the perfect spot for a late night treat or just a daily pick me up. No judgment. Forget about overpriced Jeni's (jk I still love you), Fruta La Vida has amazing ice creams and sorbets! They are also lovely about letting you try all the flavors. Also, can I mention how absolutely massive the portion sizes are? I think my jaw dropped the first one I ordered a medium. I also love dropping by for their green smoothies. I'm not even a very healthy person but you really can't say no to it here. Generous scoops of their mango sorbet and heaping handfuls of kale make for an oddly delicious smoothie. Win!

I'm on a green juice fast and this place is right in my neighborhood they make a few kind of veggie juices in house that taste very delicious they are also open until 10 at night where as all other juice bars close at 7 or 8. Very happy with this place I definitely recommend it to others. A great place to come and drink your veggies after a workout at the gym.

Without looking at Google translate I'm guessing their naming is d' fruit of life! I like the "d" part but wish it was a "da" instead. Partly because we are in Chicago and this is the place of the da bears and da cubs and da white sox too! Recently I've been jamming on a new workout program and trying my best to stick to a healthy weekday diet. Now, don't go looking at my Yelp check-ins holding some of my recent visits against me. Like I said, I've been trying. It was late the other night and rather than sit down to a big meal I decided on a fruit juice or smoothie to quell my later night hunger. Usually I have a couple go-to's in the Logan square / Bucktown area but on this night decided to try a different place. Their space is brightly lit inside, so you shant miss it if stopping by. At night it shines like an oasis since many of their neighboring stores were already closed. The color schemes and menus made me hungry for fruits and desserts. Also, it made me feel warmer on an otherwise chilly evening. It's not just a juice or a smoothie bar. It's a goto for snacks, ice cream treats, the new fad of "rolled" ice cream, desserts, fruit platters and juice too. There are a few ethnic snacks like empanadas, elotes on-the-cob, mangonadas, jamon sandwiches and what I call snack bags with pizzazz. Which are snack bags of potato chips, Cheetos or takis that are covered with any combination of chili, cheese and or hot sauce and usually served in the bag. These snacks can be found at those single proprietor bicycle wagons or bodegas too. Some refer to them as Tex-Mex snacks or in other areas of the US, IG: #hoodratsnacks How was my smoothie? Kale goodness! I can't remember the exact smoothie I ordered. Something with lots of green produce, mango, pineapple and a banana too. It'd be good if their website had information on the "about us" tab, so I could learn more about which ingredients make up their ice cream. The smoothie was more mango ice cream than real mango chunks but could as well be mango ice. I ended up with a medium smoothie and a single chicken empanada. The cost was around ten dollars which is a high cost in my opinion. The empanada came with a small green sauce which was more herbal than salsa. The shell was perfect as if pressed from a machine and its contents were ample with mashed potato and pulled chicken. However it was very salty. The space and marketing look like a money maker except for the offering of snack bags. It's a low brow snack anybody can prepare at home. Those are sold at most bodegas around the hood and that one lady that sells it out of the back of her minivan. I get it, y'all are trying to catch any business you can get but give it some thought. How about making waffles bowls and cones. Doctor it up with Mex-influenced flavors too. So many delicious directions one could go with a business of this type and the appliances at their disposal. How about tequenos or cachapas! Also, per reviews it doesn't sound like they have their rolled ice cream down. They should retrain and perfect it. Currently most Chicagoans will travel across the city to Chinatown to get their hands on that perfectly crafted Thai rolled ice cream. (Where nightly it can be standing room only) Just some thoughts.

IDK how they get 4 stars EVERY TIME I order I Ofer for pickup for the same thing becouse they always TAKE 30 min For my order and still when I get there it's still not even ready plus the time it takes them to attend me Bad customer service the lady's think they your tryin to talk to them and they give you a bad look just BAD AND when I call they never get the order right BAD OVER CHARGE FOR NOTHING

I forgot to take a picture of the rolled ice cream however this place is amazing! I loved this ice cream, they give you 3 toppings . And they are all so friendly in here! Totally worth it I will be back again soon!

30 Mins to pick up two smoothies. Really!!!! It take 30 minutes to make two smoothies. I can get a steak dinner cooked in 30 minutes. You really need to do better with your pick times. Ridiculous!!!!

I've admittedly never tried the juice or ice cream here (yet), but I had to make a review to highlight the fact that D Fruta La Vida sells Cuban sandwiches & coffee! As a Florida transplant, the ability to drink a cafe con leche in the morning is absolutely vital to my energy level and I'm SO happy I found a place near my apartment that makes them. The Cuban sandwiches take a few minutes to make, but they're pretty decent as well (not as good as they are in FL but good enough to satisfy my cravings). It's a clean, no frills spot with bilingual workers that'll get you in and out with your day. Forget Starbucks for one morning, get yourself a Cafe con leche here and then thank me later.

My friend and I decided to postmates this place for dessert one night, and it was really good! We both got mangoneada which reminded me of my trip to Mexico!

I ordered 1 chicken grilled Torta and 1 order of French fries with Cheese. I was the only customer in there , it was around 11@m when I walked in. It took them more than 20 min to have my order ready. In my opinion (IMO) the beverages were very expensive. Small starts at $5.50 and the large is 9.50 . The chicken and onion in my order were excessively salty . Too much Chicken Bouillon was added . I Will never Go back. Thumbs down all the way

If I could give this place 0 stars, I definitely would. I just walked out without being able to fulfill a simple order. There were a total of 7 people, including myself, inside. 4 of those people were sitting down and eating. I'm not sure why it took two ladies to make ONE thing while I stood there for 10 minutes. No one said they would be right with me, there was no huge line and I tried getting their attention just to be overlooked. Definitely will not return.

It was a cold, dreary night in the dead of February, and we were in search of snacks to make up for our blase dinner of leftovers. We stumbled upon Fruta and the second we flung open the door, BAM! It was summertime. Fresh fruit everywhere. Sunny, cheerful employees. More samples than you could imagine. Smoothies made with fruit so perfectly ripe that they didn't require any sweetener. All extremely reasonably priced. Pinch me, I must be dreaming. The same green juice they make here would cost you 3x as much at one of Logan's more...ahem... "artisinal" juice bars. If you dgaf about reclaimed barn wood menus and minimalist logos, D Fruta is your jam, and you will save some serious bread. TL;DR: This place RULES, and was the perfect respite from a February funk. I will be back as often as possible.

I did return at my kids request and got ice cream, that however is pretty good, a little pricey.

Rolled ice cream is thee best! The mango cups are amazing as well! Friendly staff, never too packed, clean environment. They have tons of options for the kids too!

I live right next door to this place, so was really excited to find out that there was a place like this opening up. Just visited for the first time, and I am in LOVE!!! They have the freshest ice creams and sorbets (apparently they make them there!), you know you are getting the real stuff cause you can taste the fruit in it. They let me sample a whole bunch before making my choices. I got the guava, spicy mango, and cheese ice cream. It was AMAZING!!! I'm definitely going back.

There are a lot of desert/snack type places in the neighborhood and none have really stood out to me so far (save for the Churro stop on Armitage/Hamlin). However this one has my wife and I very impressed in both the variety and quality of its offerings. Seems to specialize in homemade juice/fruit based products - ice cream, popsicles, milkshakes, smoothies, etc. In addition it also offers a decent amount of snack/lunch options. We only tried the ice cream for this trip - and we must have tried half the flavors. The staff was very generous and eager to help us find the flavors we would like. We ended up going with five different flavors in total, and while all were good the thing that sticks out to me the most is how much of the ingredients you can taste. Definitely not your usual bulk-produced flavors. You can taste/see/feel the fruits that went into the flavor. Will definitely be coming back frequently to try more flavors (sounds like they rotate them monthly). Flavors tried: - Strawberry (non-cream version) - Coffee - Cheese - Guava - Spicy Mango (not spicy really, but felt the mango flavor pop a little with a slight gingery heat) Price: 2 scoop - $3 3 scoop - $4.20 Also, I couldn't find it anywhere but its open until 9 pm (i think daily, but not sure)

Shared arepas, empeñadas and a sandwich with friends. Everything was great. Sandwich was sized to share or eat alone if you're really hungry. Staff are very friendly and make you feel welcome. They do not assume you are familiar with the food and walk you through the your selections.

The two girls working were so friendly and nice. I ordered a small detox juice and a fruit yogurt. Fresh made and delicious! Fair prices. I had actually come in looking for just fruit; it wasn't on the menu so I'm not sure if they serve just fruit.

I went there to try some empanadas, taste is good but spend about 40min to get my food. It was a nightmare waiting so long!

What a gem. Huge selection of ice cream, cream popsicles, smoothies, even food. Let's admit it, The ice cream game is getting kind of saturated with all of these little dinky ice cream shops opening around the city. Some are great, but others offer little selection. Not this bad boy. This place seriously competes with the big names out there. It's a unique take on your regular ice cream joint because it has a healthier side to it. Green veggie detox drinks? Check. Real Fruit smoothies? Check. Variety of ice creams and toppings to choose from? Check. Wait...elotes?! Mexican hot chocolate?? Sandwiches? Cheetos con queso?!!? If you haven't put nacho cheese in a Cheeto bag in your life, do yourself a favor and pay a premium to let one of these lovely D'Fruta employees do it for you. Did I mention how lovely they are? Seriously nice and always offering samples to try. The space has a very modern feel to it. Nice pine decor with no wall decor to distract you from the beauty of which is ice cream. I'll be back again, with more people this time. This place needs to be noticed. It's a gem and a great addition to the neighborhood.

Have been here before, had their ice cream scoops. They were pretty good. Their dessert items are very good, however their delivery is a big no no. I have ordered delivery from here and even though I only live like 10 minutes from here, it usually takes the delivery more than 2 hours to deliver my order, keep in mind that there's a live stream so you can literally see how long it takes the driver to leave their location to my location and there's no stops or other orders to be dropped off in between. Horrible delivery. The people at the place are very nice and their sandwiches are delicious. Favorite item on the menu for me is the paleta de arroz con leche! Yum!

A Logan Square gem! Huge selection of ice cream, paletas, and smoothies. Big portion sizes! Good coffee, sandwiches and snacks too. Quick service and friendly staff. Big indoor dining space and a new small outdoor patio is always filled in the summer.

Very very very clean, bright and fresh inside. My sister and I ordered two green juices (I had one with cayenne and she had something else, sorry I can't remember). They were delicious. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about the juices as well. I will definitely be back for some ice cream. They have an overflow of flavors. Highly recommended for a healthy snack when you are on the go.

Our family favorite in the neighborhood! The food is amazing. You can literally taste test everything (which we almost have) You may think it's a bit pricey but u def good a big quantity of whatever you are buying!!! Love this place

This place was well needed in my neighborhood. They have so many varieties of fresh made ice cream...and they all have fresh fruit inside. So awesome and so rare!! They have a bunch of appetizer munchy stuff too that's yummy (and some salty) that goes good with the cool ice cream. If your one that like fresh fries with your Wendy's frosty then you know what I'm talking about:))

Great Find! Delicious homemade ice cream and paletas, made with real ingredients and fruit. You can taste the freshness of the fruits. And they're pretty affordable. I also like their empanadas, and homemade yogurt. I like the plain yogurt with fruit, granola and almonds. Their mangonadas are amazing! You must try it. They also sell elotes year round in case you're missing them in the winter. Overall, great service, clean atmosphere, highly recommend. :)

Back for second review. Hadn't been in months. Was so refreshing to walk into such a welcoming place. They really do their best to please. Had an egg, ham and cheese sandwich and latte for breakfast. Ask for their green salsa on the side (if you like it tangy). They'll customize any juice for you. Prices are flat out reasonable, which reflects the neighborhood in general. Oh and uh, ice cream!!!

I love how This place is close to home (Logan Sauare) and it's delicious. They have all kinds of treats. I love their nacho cheese hot Cheetos yummm mangonadas are bomb too. I love to also get the paletas they sell.

This was my favorite place for ice cream !!! But tonight I had the worst experience !!! I would never come back!!! I was one of the first customers since they open !!! The employees ignored us and started talking to each other then another couple came in and one of the employees started helping right away !! I felt like sh¥£*# I'm so sorry for the owners they are very nice people

Hearing there was an ice cream location across the street made me excited not to have to make the drive to China Town for ice cream rolls. Kinda disappointed that the coworkers didn't know how to roll the ice cream and tried covering up the mess with whipped cream. Also, kind of grossed out that the worker left strawberry ice cream scraps and mixed it into my banana Nutella.

This was probably the worst ice cream shop I've ever gone to. They are very unprofessional and rude. There was a mistake made in my order so I asked if they can kindly just fix the simple mistake , the lady working there refused with a lot of attitude and said no because I didn't explain myself right so then I became a little bit upset and asked for a refund she refused AGAIN. Her manager or whatever he was refused as well to either fix the mistake or give me a refund. After that he said he'll fix the mistake on my order but I'll have to pay for half of what the item cost which was crazy to me because I literally paid full price already!! Like what?? That doesn't even make sense. Regardless if I didn't explain myself right when the order was made there was no reason for them to both be rude and very hostile. I gave up and just left very upset/ unsatisfied.. I'll never return here or dare recommend this place to anyone. I don't even want to give this place a 1 star rating! They definitely deserve 0 stars for how this situation was handled.

Love the fruit bars that they have, my fave is the lime flavor. They have such a huge selection, very clean inside.. I don't speak Spanish so it was tricky to coordinate altering an order I had. Other than that it is a friendly place and you can sample as many flavors as you like '
