I come here from time to time to buy stuff and things and things for stuff. Last time, I just needed to break a dollar...it made cents 🥁 [ba dum tiss] 😅

So I frequent this store a lot and actually like it. However, tonight as I walked in with my fiancé to get one small item around 9:29pm there was something we did not like. The hours say this store closes at 10pm, and again we walked in at 9:29pm. I'm not sure what the issue was with one of the young ladies working during this shift but there was obviously no self-checkouts open (like usual as of lately) so unfortunately yes it means we had to let you check us out. But the female behind the counter who had what appeared to plaits or braids in her hair with a skully cap went behind the counter as we walked up but had her back to us and huffed and puffed several times to show her irritation that we came to the checkout counter. Then proceeded to continue doing so with her back turned to us, and as the customer (and yes I've worked in customer service retail before) I should not have to make an announcement to you that I'm standing here at the counter. As if her attitude and passive aggressiveness wasn't enough, she then proceeded to say, "So y'all just going to stand there and ain't gon say anything?" I just looked at her and gave her a look that showed I'm not entertaining her ignorance. Then she said, "Okay was that it? 😒" and we said, "Yes." and of course she continues on with the attitude and then says, "Okay.... have a good night 🙄😒" after she rang us up. Again I wasn't going to dignify her ignorance with a response. But I am writing this review so management can know one of the young ladies that worked that current shift tonight needs to be reprimanded and she definitely needs to be retrained on what GOOD customer service is because that clearly was not it at all; I have definitely always experienced better customer service from other workers there during the day shift and the night shift, but this is the first time I experienced extreme rudeness from start to finish. Again I've worked in customer service and retail and I understand it can be a frustrating job and it could be long days for people, however if you're going to project your negative mood and attitude onto the customers then maybe that's not the job for you and don't show up to work. This is another reason I agree with what other customers have said about the self checkout lines; if customers are going to have to be dealing with disrespect like that on a regular basis then the self checkout lines need to be open for us to check ourselves out in peace.

The shelves are being stocked more and more as before cvd19. Lysol and Clorox wipes along with Lysol & Microban spray is behind counter, ask for it. Make up is still low in quantity.

The self checkouts are literally NEVER available. They only ever have 1 cashier. Line is usually down the aisle. Why install the self checkouts if they're never used? So frustrating. Hire cashiers or open the self checkouts.

Every store is so disheveled. Truck order is never put away makes it hard to get what you came to get. And the self checkout in every store is worthless. I am some with DG

I went to the dollar tree a couple Saturdays ago and I have a horrible experience with this big lady at the check out. SO I decide to start purchasing my stuff online and pick up the store to avoid any confrontations with Coupons and holding lines are the store. My order online got cancel I don’t know why but I called the store and the store manager and Stephani was so nice and shop my second order I placed . This kind of customer service deserves a five stars, thank you both

The manager, I believe Loraine or something like that( her name definitely starts with a “L” - big lady , was very rude! If I wasn’t in a hurry I’d put back all 48$ worth of good and went somewhere else! Definitely will not be spending my money there again , and I’ll make sure nobody attach to me does! I also saw the cheetos advertising at a sale price but yet she told me it wasn’t, so I told her I only needed one, she charged me for two and only bagged one- had to go back when I saw my receipt plus she tried to hush me up when I tried to explain. As a manager if that’s how she talks to people and treat customers, I’m sincerely sorry for the owner! I once had a business and I know what bad employees do to business so I feel it for the actual owner.

Yelp
Not a bad store to pick up some small items, especially if you aren't in the mood for Walmart or the other big box stores. I found everything I needed with little hassle and was greeted very politely by at least one or two employees. They only have one cashier usually so bring your patience. And, the white fellow with all the tattoos licks his fingers to get the bags loose....wasn't fond of that. But, luckily he went on his break by the time I reached the register. Overall, not a bad place to grab a few essentials. Update: I found some foreign particles in my Gain washing powder. And, the candy I bought was old and expired. I went back to the store to exchange and the manager initially refused to return my money. My husband had attempted to give her the details but apparently wasn't clear. After a somewhat heated exchange the manager Ms. Matthews allowed an exchange which I was very grateful for considering I did not have my receipt only a copy of the exchange in my bank records. It was all good in the end. I will say, I won't buy any food from this location. I'm sure the bug or whatever it was slipped in through the manufacturing process. Also, the store is extremely dirty. It needs a good deep cleaning. Management will return your items at their discretion but seem to be reasonable and professional.

Yelp
I came here for a few small items. This dollar store basically has everything you need. The cashier was super friendly, I didn't catch her name. She was in such a good mood because she only had 30 minutes left before she got off. She was joking about how she was going to be yelling up and down the street because she was off. LOL you had to hear the story in order to find it funny tho. But this is definitely a great store. You will more than likely find anything you are looking for here.

Yelp
I go here because I know I can get the same or similar products like I do at Target or Safeway and I can still use my coupons. Nothing wrong with the Dollar General to me!
