Successor to longtime Ristorante Divino, this Vista stalwart leans elegant—house pastas, a deep Italian wine list, and polished service. Covered by Free Times for its move and rebrand, it remains a special‑occasion favorite with local roots.

You know when you want to order the whole menu it’s going to be a great night..the specials always are incredible too. Fiancé and I have been going here but never really appreciated it as much as we did out our last experience- not sure if anything changed but wow the food was top notch and I would say this is easily some of the best Italian-American you could get in the state of SC. Very amazing portions - definitely is expensive but I mean the source of their food is on the back of the menu!!!! Incredible touch. Service was great and paced our meal out. Tired of restaurants that get you in and out like you are cattle - we had a nice 2 hour dinner and got perfect breaks between courses (shoutout to Michelle). Will be coming back many more times and updates to come hope they continue to deliver because this is what Columbia needs. (also the vibe inside is unbeatable and the chairs are amazing!) Update: went back a few weeks later and again the service and food was just incredible. So happy with this place and can’t wait to keep coming back.

Google
This is my go to spot when I am in Columbia for work. It’s amazing quality food with great service. I love to sit at the bar for dinner. The bartenders are always attentive and fast and knowledgeable. I know there won’t be a single trip up to Columbia that I don’t stop into this place.

Google
An Absolute Gem in Columbia! We stopped in at Di Vino Rosso in Columbia, SC and had an incredible experience from start to finish! We decided to eat at the bar, and let me just say—the bartenders were not stingy with the pour! They made us feel right at home with their friendly, upbeat energy. The food was amazingly well cooked, seasoned, and prepared—you can tell the kitchen takes real pride in every dish. The ambiance was warm and inviting, and we even got a little history lesson about the building, which added such a nice touch to the evening. We met some great people, made new friends, and felt genuinely welcomed. The staff was attentive, engaging, and on top of everything—from refills to checking in to make sure we were happy. Even the restrooms were spotless and well-kept, which says a lot about the overall care of the place. I’m already looking forward to becoming a regular here. If you’re searching for authentic, delicious Italian food in Columbia with great vibes and outstanding service, Di Vino Rosso is an absolute must-try! 🍷🍝

Google
We just went there for the first time for our anniversary. The Osso Buco was the best I have ever had and crispy Brussels sprouts were awesome! My wife had the lamb chops and they were tremendous and it made her cry because it was like her mom made. Service was great! You gotta try this place.

Fabiano F.

Google
Today is our engagement anniversary and we had excellent service! Thank you so much for making this night even more special! Everything was perfect! The venue and meals made our engagement anniversary incredible! Thank you. Gratitude on January 15, 2026! 20 years of engagement

Google
Cool space and good service for our first time dining here. Tables were full and lucked out with a few available seats at the bar. The cauliflower soup was excellent, everything else was ok to good, but not commensurate with the pricing.

Caitlin S. D.

Google
Wonderful, Mike and Allie were fun and had great recommendations for drinks and dishes. Will be back! Thank you for making our date night extra memorable.

Google
This was my very first visit to Di Vino Rosso and it most definitely won’t be my last. The atmosphere, the service and the food was superb! If you are looking for an upscale restaurant with great food I highly recommend this place. The cost of dining is up there but yet more reasonable than most. Put on your nice fine clothing and head on over there.

Yelp
Last week, we had my birthday dinner there... it was excellent! We tried several items, everything was delicious. My crispy osso buco was huge and fork tender. Our waiter was Josh, he was quick and very helpful. The wine list is massive, but he helped us navigate that. The place is lovely and very comfortable. The piano bar pianist took requests. One member of our party requested an unusual song. The pianist Googled up the sheet music and played the request beautifully. Yes, we will absolutely return. It is a pricey place but is right in line with the other high end Columbia restaurants that we have visited. Good job DVR!!!

Yelp
The food was absolutely incredible. Everyone at our table enjoyed their meal. The meatball appetizer was perfect. Service was absolutely exceptional and it felt as it was top priority from everyone that worked here
google avatar

Rachel M.

Yelp
A friend insisted on DVR's chicken parm, and I understand why. It's a very unique take on chicken parm using the sous vide method to give the poultry a completely different texture. Two large rolled medallions maintained a crispy edge and juicy center that tasted unlike anything I've ever had. Other highlights: * The chairs! I noticed how comfortable the seats were as soon as I sat down - large, straight-backed chairs with cushions that allow you to enjoy the dining experience rather than squirm or feel rushed. * The soup of the day. Our dining companions both ordered this potato soup made with Peroni and Red Dragon mustard and ale cheddar, and they couldn't stop raving about it - long after we left the restaurant. * The service. Blane was attentive, responsive, and warm. My only complaint was the pasta (served alongside the chicken parm), which was way overcooked...to the point of sticky/mushy. Not a deterrent to return, but I'll be sure to emphasize "al dente" in my order, should the dish I choose come with a side of pasta. Very romantic ambience with exposed brick and a great wine selection. Classy bar with full service. Look forward to trying more of what DVR has to offer!

Yelp
For a higher end Italian restaurant in Columbia SC, this one is the best one you can get. The environment was classy, got nice lighting and intimate. Service was friendly and nice. Food and drink was cooked well but doesn't have a good memory point for me to want to come back again if that make sense. The taste of the food is rather milder than other Italian restaurant.

Ve G.

Yelp
A perfect experience, perfect food. The Heritage Farm pork was delicious, the staff expertly accommodated gluten free dietary restrictions, and the cocktails were superb. The live piano music made the atmosphere romantic and elegant. Absolutely worth the $$$
google avatar

Angela M.

Yelp
Food was bland. Pasta was very overcooked. Ambiance was lacking. Do not recommend.

Rod M.

Yelp
Ambiance was great. Had a jazz trio that were really good. Service was satisfactory but abrupt. The server checked in but did not have the friendly caring vibe that you normally look for. My wife had the gnocchi and I had the osso buco. They came in so much sauce that is was almost a soup. They were gummy and not as light and pillowy as you would like. The osso buco was good, the mashed potatoes and brussels sprouts complement them well. All in all an enjoyable experience but I am not sure we would go back.

Yelp
salumi plate: from left to right in the picture: Juniper and orange peel salami, (made me want a martini! Housemade, I believe- amazing!) prosciutto, (good) but I can get this at publix. Not sure if it was house made. sopressato. (Good but I can buy it in a store) Sweet Pickles, (too sweet for me) olives, (they are olives, nothing special ) tart-sweet pickled red cabbage (not as sweet as the pickles so I could eat them, but still quite sweet). pickled mushrooms, (savory but a little vinegary) almonds, (bland blanched almonds) stone ground mustard, tomato bacon jam, (amazing! Large pieces of smoky bacon) strawberry jam. (Very good and obviously fresh made) My over feeling is that there too many sweet sides to the fatty meats. Good, but I'll probably go for the cheese plate next time. CIOPPINO Slightly sweet, perhaps from the fennel . I won't order it again. The seafood was perfectly cooked and I didn't get a single bit of grit from the mussels. Nice big, perfectly seared scallops. But for my palate, far too sweet even with added fresh ground black pepper. I'll definitely be back, but I'll try something else. I gotta save up because I want to try the Bone-In pork saltambucco. But it's $44! Next timeMy boss let me try the bruschetta. For me it had the perfect amount of lightly drizzled balsamic vinegar on it. I'm not a real fan of balsamic because it tends to be sweet (see a trend? ) I'm having a Hendrick's Cucumber Martini for desert LOL!

Yelp
We came here for dinner last night to celebrate our 8 year wedding anniversary! Everyone was really nice, service was prompt & friendly. My water glass never got low. My husband got some seafood pasta dish and I got the veal tenderloin and we got the tiramisu! Both dishes were amazing. They bring bread to the table while you wait with oil but I'd love to have some herbs or salt and pepper in the oil so it's not so bland. We liked it but it's not for just anytime kinds go out place because it is pricey.

Steve G.

Yelp
Service food and ambiance all very good. Best Italian in Cola Go there and thank me later
google avatar

Jim M.

Yelp
Great food, incredible service. We had a great experience. Lamb shank special was top notch. Pasta dishes were excellent, great wine list and well made cocktails.
google avatar

Mark L.

Yelp
The service was outstanding, while the food was good. The octopus dish was mid, while the main dishes were good to great. The service made up for what lacked in food.

Mike M.

Yelp
The food was absolutely delicious and amazing from the appetizer to the delicious desserts. The drinks were fresh / strong / and delicious. The reasoning behind the 3 starts was due to the service. I believe he may have been the manager on site ( wearing a blue suite ) was rude never introduced himself when he came to my table to fill the glasses of water. He also kept looking over at my table and making wired expectations. He also walked around the whole restaurant offering complementary "lemon cello" a tray full, and never once approached our table or acknowledged us. My girlfriend had to ask the server what they were passing around. It was just a weird experience with him. Our server was great, he was very friendly and helpful with the menu. Our food did take over 50min to get, but it was worth the wait. I hate that our experience could have been different if the manager was pleasant. I hate to even think this, but one of my girlfriends said " feel like it's because we are Hispanic ". Our bill was over $400.00 we left 30% tip on top of that. Hopefully next time our expenses will be different.

Yelp
This was our 2nd time at Di Vino Rosso. The first time over a year ago was excellent. The last experience this past weekend was not quite as good. We told them it was our daughters birthday when we booked the reservation. They never acknowledged it once. The food was ok. The steak was good but we are allergic to the cheese they serve on the spinach (2nd side) and they would not allow for a substitution so we have to paid 10.00 per additional side. The tables were cramped together making it difficult to get up to go the restroom. It was noisy and not a relaxing atmosphere. After spending $500 we realized we could have receive a better meal in a more enjoyable atmosphere for that kind of money. Don't not believe we will return.

James G.

Yelp
Great food, service (Josh) and ambiance. Lamb chops / veal chop / stuffed artichokes and money bag pasta w pears cheese.. everything was delicious..
google avatar

Morgan H.

Yelp
This place is a great italian spot! They have beautifully crafted pasta dishes that are to die for! We had an excellent server who made my birthday feel special!
google avatar

Maxine C.

Yelp
My boyfriend booked a reservation for my birthday as I've heard many great things about Di Vino Rosso and had been wanting to try for a while. The place is small, tables feel a little cramped together. Our server was great. Our glasses fell short of water for a bit of time, but were all eventually filled in due time. They gave us two glasses of Prosecco on the house because of my birthday, which was very nice. We had a carpaccio to start (not seen as we inhaled it like savages) and cocktails. Their soup of the day was a squash bisque and it was delicious. Love the chive oil garnish. Caesar salad dressing was tangy, fresh. My veal was tender and flavorful, boyfriend's lamb was cooked beautifully and the blackberry coulis was delish! Tiramisu was wonderful but that crème brûlée was even better!!! We enjoyed our experience and will be back

Yelp
Excellent service, very good food. I had a vegetarian plate, and found it as good as any other in Columbia.

Yelp
Food: 5 Customer Service: 5 Ambience: 5 Location: 5 Parking: 5 Cleanliness: 5 Reservations: Yes This restaurant is situated in the heart of the downtown Columbia SC community and conveniently located on Gervais street. They don't have a private parking lot on site, but they do offer a complimentary valet parking service for their customers. There is also nearby street parking available as well as parking garages within walking distance from downtown. The decor is a very stunning mix of vintage, luxury, and modernity. Every table provides a very romantic setting, and they had live music that was a pianist playing very relaxing tunes. The staff was very friendly and helpful when we arrived as well throughout our experience. The manager stopped by every table to ask how our experience was, and you could definitely tell that all of their staff was providing top notch customer service. The menu offers a wide variety of delicious and mouthwatering starters and main courses that will appeal to everyone. We decided on a few drinks, an appetizer, and two main pasta dishes. Everything we ate was fresh and delicious. The chefs use the best quality ingredients to produce dishes that are simply delightful. The restaurant also offers a wonderful drink menu, and they offer one of the best wines in the region. The drinks are pricey but surely worth sampling. Our overall dining experience was fabulous, and I'm sure that we will be back in near future whenever we have a desire for some excellent Italian dishes.

Yelp
I took my family here from out of town. They enjoyed everything about this restaurant. It is a very nice environment. The cocktails were amazing and the food was excellent! The service was great and they pay attention to detail. This is one of my favorite restaurants in columbia!

Matt C.

Yelp
Wow. I absolutely will add this to the pantheon of Columbia food places. I currently have Hales's number one, then share Saludas, Divino, and motor supply as close close close here one restaurant. There wasn't anything that was marginal on any of our plates tonight, the service is great. The food was great. I highly recommend this to anybody who's in town for a business mail or a graduation.

Yelp
I attended a conference on the history of the Revolutionary War in South Carolina. The one day conference is awesome! The speakers were well educated and passionate about the history. As a reward, I went to Di Vino Rossi for dinner. I didn't have a reservation so I sat at the bar. The bartenders were great conversationalist and extremely humorous. I ordered the cioppino. Everything was excellent. I ordered it without spaghetti because I wanted to 'spend' the carbs on the delicious crusty bread to sop up the yummy broth. The scallops were plump. The shrimp cooked just right. The muscles perfecto. The atmosphere was enchanting. The servers so pleasant you would think you had known them for years. A definite do-again. Unfortunately, it will be a year until I visit again. Pro: food and servers are too notch. Con: you must make reservations on the weekend. Until next year!!

Chris R.

Yelp
Perhaps a 4.4 rating for Italian in the southeast US, but a far cry from real Italian food. If you are from the northeast, and understand good Italian, don't bother. This is a clear example of a restaurant that decided to make simple Italian food complicated. Example: chicken parm looked like a roll of a meat like substance akin to the role of Fresh Pet you buy for your dog at Walmart. So presentation is one thing, but if the flavor and taste were there, I would not have to write this. It was not there. So there is that. Around the table...same experience. Buyer beware. Ambiance was very nice, however. Staff and waitstaff and were great.
google avatar

Elyse H.

Yelp
This was our first time dinning at Di Vino Rosso. Let me tell you, they did not disappoint. The atmosphere is beautiful, the staff is great, and the food is awesome. My husband and I often struggle with finding good Italian food, after living in Italy for three years. We are extremely picky. However, Di Vino Rosso is the closet most accurate Italian dinning that we have experienced since being back in the US. It was a great date night. We would absolutely recommend giving them a visit.

Patrick T.

Yelp
Just love this restaurant!!! Have been several times since moving to Columbia and they never fail to deliver. The menu isn't extensive but the items they make, they do VERY WELL. The service has always been on point as well. Will continue to return to Di Vino Rosso again and again!
google avatar

Angie E.

Yelp
Nice vibe and great food. This was a really nice restaurant in downtown SC, small but definitely worth the visit. The service was extremely slow though and my medium pork chops were well done however it still tasted good. And of course my Aperol was on point. The octopus was my favorite!
google avatar

Demitri L.

Yelp
This place is one of, if not the best fine dining restaurants, in Columbia. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted and immediately seated with amazing service. The amount of wine and cocktail options available make for such a beautiful experience. Everything about the atmosphere and amazing dishes absolutely makes this the pinnacle of dining in Columbia. A must try for date nights, celebrations, or just good food overall!
google avatar

Yelp
Di Vino Rosso is an institution here in Columbia with a loyal guest following. The restaurant offers an intimate dining environment yet one which is not overly pretentious allowing for a relaxed upscale setting. The menu is small and offers a variety of Italian dishes. Perhaps my expectations were too high for my first visit but I cant say that the fare lived up to the acclaim. while the dishes were unique, considering that each rings in in the high 20s to 30s, I was disappointed to learn from my waitress that the pasta is not even made in house. My dining companion elected for the bolgenese which he enjoyed. The sauce was prepared with boar and sausage meat which resulted in a gamely taste unlike any other Italian gravy. I opted for the mushroom pasta which was a bit bland and could have benefited from a slew of garlic. Our favorite dish of the night was actually the appetizer of the night, a tomato burrata caprese salad.
google avatar

Kelly P.

Yelp
Love the ambiance in this restaurant - we went for a business meal. The charcuterie board was amazing. It had some unique delicious options. I had the Cioppino and was disappointed as it wasn't as good as others I've had - i prefer a broth with fish stock and saffron but it had pasta in it so very little broth. It was more of a seafood pasta
google avatar

Yelp
I chose this restaurant to celebrate my birthday with some great Northern Italian food. The place is very nice, great atmosphere, outstanding service. to dinner one of my favorite I was very pleased with the Mini selection from their menu.I like it one of my favorite Italian dishes;Osso Buco, for the first time I had a pork shank instead of the usual veal shank ,it was absolutely delicious. it was a enjoyable evening. the service, the food -and the atmosphere we're great.I can't wait to come back and try other dishes from the menu-give it a try.

Scott C.

Yelp
Absolutely fantastic restaurant! From the staff, to the ambience, to the well crafted food! And valet parking! Definitely returning!

Yelp
Nice ambiance. Food and service were good but not great. Valet parking was appreciated.

Yelp

Yelp
I ordered the Caesar Salad and Chicken Parmigiana. Food was excellent. Service was wonderful. Atmosphere was upscale but welcoming.

Yelp
Amazing! We celebrated our daughter's graduation with 13 ppl. They were so accommodating to the size of our group, the recommendation of wine was on point (we so enjoyed 2 bottles) and the food was so good! I got the scallops, and they were some of the best I've ever had. Thank you, DVR for the best night! Sad we forgot to try to throw our corks in the bowl for a lemoncello
google avatar

Charlie Mayne E.

Yelp
Excellent dining experience from beginning to end. We'll surely be back in the near future. P.S. They have free valet parking ;)

Christine D.

Yelp
Excellent service and the food is amazing! The goat cheese stuffed artichokes were amazing. Very nice ambiance.
google avatar

Yelp
Great service, great food, fun atmosphere make this the top Italian restaurant in Columbia.
google avatar

Yelp
Finally I couldn't resist going to what some consider Columbias best Fine Italian place. 3 of us us went through the program from mussels thru Espresso. Deep complex layered flavors. Service was, as they used to say- impeccable. Is "it" worth it? If you want an experience of fine dining - yes.
google avatar

Ashley T.

Yelp
Everything about this restaurant was phenomenal! Especially the carrot cake! Hands down the best we've ever had.
google avatar

Andrew M.

Yelp
I had messed up my reservation by reserving the wrong night. would have ruined all the plans but everyone there was super nice about it and ended up getting us a table. The chairs are very comfortable and the restaurant has quite a relaxing feel (bonus points for the jazz) all the food was super delicious and i will 100% be coming back!
google avatar

Cynthia C.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I went here to celebrate our anniversary, and the food is to die for!! We were treated so nicely by the server, whom gave lots of recommendations on what to get since it was my first time going there. The beet salad is my boyfriend's favorite, and that will be our staple dish for everytime we go back. The ambiance is amazing, the place is not that big but the lighting and the decor makes you feel so comfortable that you won't realize you've been there for hours! Highly recommend!

Yelp
Thus was an excellent dining experience. The wait was short. The meal was exquisite. I can't wait to visit again.

Andi C.

Yelp
Really good service. I don't know if it's just me, but the gnocchi divino tastes JUST like chef-boy-ardee, in the can. I felt like I was on candid camera.
google avatar

Yelp
So, this was our 2nd time here. We stay at the Hampton across st.) We like this place because it has been consistent each time. We arrived at our scheduled time and completed everything in 90min. That's a bit speedy but it is what it is. Started with App. Feature Lobster Rav. Then Entee of Halibut special and Chicken Parmigiano. Both very good. Dessert of Grand Marnier creme Brule which was excellent. Started with cocktails of House special Old fashion(13$) and Blantons Old fashion (25$) service was good. I gave 4 stars because it seemed too fast to go through a meal. Also the space. Bet ween tables seemed cramped .

Yelp
I went here with my brother and sister the after our father died, in September. The service was great, very attentive and knowledgeable. The food was great, too.

Yelp
We had originally intended to dine her in early 2020, but plans changed and our first visit ended up being in March of 2021. The restaurant is located along Gervais Street, within a half mile of the state capitol building. The area is flush with other restaurants, hotels, and shops. From their website, my understanding was that it was set up for valet parking. We arrived in time for our 6:15 p.m. reservation and stopped out front. There was no valet in evidence. Even the entrance to the restaurant was somewhat in question (venturing down a side alley vs. some alcove in the front). Another car pulled up and was also similarly confused. After finding the (front) entrance, I went inside and inquired about the parking. A guy who was apparently part of the staff jumped into action and took the keys. We then got seated promptly. The interior is nicely decorated. The bar is extensive and looked 'old' but classy. The clientele appeared to be a mix of couples (or sets of them) on a night out, or in some cases a 'girls night out'. It was definitely on the upscale side. Our waitress was good, but seemed spread a bit thin. The bar selection was good, but they only had Moscato by the half-bottle, which turned out to be sort of two light glasses. We split a salad (and a dessert later). My wife had the duck while I had pasta. The food was quite good. All in all, the dining experience was well worth it. When we finished, we went outside to get our car. Another couple appeared to be waiting, but I wasn't sure if it was for an Uber or for the valet... I eventually went inside to ask; at that point, the valet showed up. The same guy who had originally parked our car instructed him to bring our car around (along with a 2nd, for another couple who had just finished). The guys waited outside with us and turned out to be the owner. He was quite engaging for the couple minutes we were waiting. He described the restaurant's move from the building next door, the fact tha the current location was ordinally a car dealership, his dealings with the Columbia historic district commission, etc. I enjoyed the brief chat. I would definitely consider a return visit here.
google avatar

Dara L.

Yelp
Open only 2 weeks & I was pleased and amazed at how "with it" this team was. Service was impeccable! Michael our server was delightful to engage with. As a 1st generation American, mom & dad from Italy, I've been spoiled by fabulous Italian food. This meal far exceeded my expectations! The food was A+++. Three of us shared 3 starters and each had an entree. Food was bountiful! ...and every bite was better than the last. The bar is beautiful and VERY well stocked -especially with quality wines. We had cocktails to start and they were unique and refreshing. The building is a historic building and they were limited as to how much they could do inside and out. Even with these limitations, they made it very comfortable and welcoming. And to top it off, it's always a pleasure to meet and speak with an owner who welcomed us and thanked us for stopping by! We will be back next time we come to town!

Yelp
Wow! My husband and I just tried out Di Vino Rosso yesterday. I was a bit underdressed, not knowing what to expect. It is really a fine dining experience! Probably the best restaurant experience we have had in Columbia, SC. Warm, rich, upscale decor, piano music in the background, the scent of fresh lilies. The staff were very attentive and professional. The food was delicious, the pasta perfectly cooked and flavorful. I only knew about Di Vino Rosso's new opening (didn't know about the previous location) by following pasta chef @prycevegas on social media. I enjoyed his pasta at Black Rooster and loved the two pasta dishes we had yesterday (agnoloti appetizer, duck feature). The pork osso bucco was delectable. The tiramisu was very fresh, rich and flavorful. We will definitely be back! Went back 4 days later after seeing the delicious farfelle pasta special on Instagram. Tried out a few other items. All delicious!
