The decorations are charming, with a warm and inviting atmosphere that transports you straight to the heart of Mexico. The menu is a seafood lover's dream, offering a great variety of fresh options. We have tried three tacos-sea bass, tilapia, and octopus. The portion size of the tacos is definitely generous, making it a great value for the price. All of them are amazing, especially the octopus! It was cooked just right. We also had a small chicken quesadilla. The chicken is perfectly charred and complemented by a side of deliciously creamy guacamole and zesty salsa. Together, they create a perfect balance of textures and tastes.

How have I not written a review for you his place?! I've been coming to Dia de Pesca for ages... This place is a local legend. It's always in the conversation for top five places to get seafood in San Jose. I've seen this place progressively evolved from the little mobile food stand with makeshift outdoor seating to a full-fledged restaurant. Good for them! The layout is still very quirky, I'm just glad the food is still good. I haven't gotten anything bad here, and I hope it continues to stay that way. #Sifood: ~ Enchiladas w/ SiFood (Pulpo) - 4.5/5 Basically a perfect plate of Enchiladas. I think I picked the wrong SiFood tho... I should have gotten Shrimp instead. Nothing wrong with the Octopus, it just needs more of it. ~ SiFOOD Grande Burrito (Scallops) - 4/5 The Burrito was very good, I just feel like Scallops was the wrong choice. It would have been perfect if the scallops were cut into smaller pieces and distributed evenly throughout the burrito. But as it was, I'd get one bite with a bunch of Scallop meat and then several other bites without any Scallops. ~ Chips & Salsa - 4/5 Tasty. Just a solid Chips & Salsa. ~ Agua Fresca: Cucumber & Lime - 4/5 Not a common flavor. refreshing during these toasty summer days. So glad it's not too far from me...

The flavors of the food served here have been developed well. I would definitely recommend the taco sampler, and the fried whole tilapia. The deep fried tilapia was seasoned well, and a lot of love went into the tacos. The drinks were blended well, and the setting was cozy. There were quite a few condiments on the table. The staff were friendly, but they could improve the speed of their service.

Dia De Pesca is a fantastic Mexican restaurant, and their outdoor seating is a major highlight. It’s the perfect spot to enjoy a sunny day and have a nice conversation while savoring their delicious food. I’m especially a fan of their vegetarian burrito—packed with flavor and always fresh. The restaurant is just three minutes from my work, making it my go-to lunch spot. Their hot sauce is another standout; it’s the perfect complement to any dish. If you’re looking for great food and a relaxing atmosphere, I highly recommend checking out Dia De Pesca!

The food is always good. This review is for the customer service. I write this to share safety concerns in hopes the establishment will make changes to ensure the safety of their guests. Today, while waiting for my family’s food, I wanted to get situated by making room for my daughter’s high chair in the patio seating area. Since they had children’s high chairs, I assumed that the tables and chairs might be movable to accommodate the high chair-despite them being cement. Within seconds of attempting to move the bench, it had completely fallen apart. I didn’t think it would have abruptly collapsed the way it did being cement benches. If anything, they would have been very difficult to move but with one nudge, the seating collapsed. When we reported the incident to the woman at the front counter, she accused us of breaking it on purpose and trying to cover it up. I expected a different response to a situation that could have potentially caused injury to my family. A bench abruptly collapsing with a nudge should not happen at any restaurant establishment. It was a very rude interaction. I would have expected a manger to come out and check on its customers and show some kind of concern. Instead we were completely ignored. Feeling dissatisfied with her lack of response and rudeness, I went back in to express my concern once again. The woman at the front acted like we didn’t exist. She sat there with her colleague eating food as I stood there waiting to get help. Luckily, a very nice staff member listened to my concern and mentioned that other guests had attempted to move seating in the past and had an incident far worse than mine. In moving forward, I was advised to never attempt to move seating as they will collapse. That was evidence for me to understand that customer safety is not a concern. Other evidence of this was a broken bench placed off to the side in the patio area in plain view. Maybe it’s common sense to not move seating with that type of material. In that moment, I was only thinking of caring for my family and their needs-not potential dangers as I assume the restaurant is in compliant with safety standards. If the restaurant has been aware that guests have attempted to move seating and unsafe incidents occur as a result of it, it is the responsibility of the establishment to take prevented measures for those of us who don’t have common sense-maybe a sign saying “Don’t attempt to move seating, it may collapse on you causing bodily injury.” I hope the owners/manager see this review and is encouraged to make changes that will ensure the safety of its customers. Also, it would be nice if the woman at the counter provided costumer service that matched the quality of the food.

I was so excited for this place, but unfortunately, it was not as good as I thought. The food had no taste, and the service was bad. one of our friends couldn't continue eating her taco after just one bite due to its overwhelming spiciness. The spiciness of the food was not mentioned on the menu or told to us by the server. Adding to the disappointment, the server accidentally spilled water on the table, but she didn't even apologize, and it took her a long time to come and clean it. By the time she arrived, we had already cleaned everything ourselves. Overall, considering the high prices, I believe there are better seafood Mexican options available elsewhere.

Awesome place, awesome vibe, awesome food We really loved the street tacos, the people were super nice as well! Place has nice and happy Mexican vibes! Nice menu many options too! It is very close to the valley fair as well! Beautiful outdoor area! Cleanness: clean Seating: indoor and patio Menu: many options Price: super fair People: very nice Food: very good Noise: unless there are a gang of brats sitting there does not seem like a noisy place! Parking: about 8ish spots in think and on street parking too!

Google
Five stars all the way! Based on the decor, food choices and quality. Service was with a smile... you order at the counter, get a number, and they bring the food to you. They have inside and covered outside seating. The music was kind of loud outside. And a parking lot that holds maybe 8 cars or so. The fish tacos and burritos are awesome! I personally like grilled fish, not battered like most taquerias make them, and Dia de Pesca makes them both ways! Also the carne asada taco was delicious. I didn't see any salsa bar, but I didn't ask. They do have a set of hot sauce on each table if you want some spice. Definitely going to try more food here.

Yelp
A delicious Mexican restaurant offering a great variety of seafood dishes with a lovely patio. I love Dia de Pesca's Sí Food tacos, especially their Halibut tacos. Rice and beans are delicious as well. Service explains the menu well and makes our dining experience pleasant.

Yelp
I would not recommend this place. After placing my order, the server asked if I wanted chips and salsa. I assumed, like at most Mexican restaurants, they would be complimentary. Instead, I was surprised to find out later that I was charged $4 for them. If I wanted to pay for chips and salsa, I would have ordered them upfront. The breakfast burrito was another disappointment. There was barely any steak inside, they filled it with bell peppers, and it came with purple onions that weren't even listed on the menu. The flavor was off and not at all what I was expecting. Overall, the food and experience didn't feel authentic. Sour cream and cheddar cheese in a breakfast burrito should have been my first clue. Definitely not worth the price or the visit.

Yelp
Stumbled across this spot and I'm glad I did -- definitely a hidden gem that locals need to check out. I grabbed two tacos: one shrimp and one breaded halibut. The halibut taco? Absolutely fire. Perfectly crispy, flavorful, and well-balanced. Highly recommend that one if you're stopping by. The shrimp taco was good too -- fresh and tasty -- but it was a little light on the meat compared to the halibut. Still worth trying though! Overall, this place has that underrated, hole-in-the-wall vibe with food that seriously delivers. I'll definitely be back to try more off the menu.

Yelp
I've been coming here for about 10 years and it's had the same flavor and taste as always. My go to is the breaded halibut, the toppings add so much flavor. It's always super delicious. I make the drive from San Mateo but it's worth it. The rice is not good, it's hard and has no flavor but other than that everything was great. The service is good! You order inside and sit yourself wherever available which is nice. They bring your food out and that's the extent of it. I love the outdoor seating area, SJ has such nice weather and sitting in the shade is perfect. Tables are enough far apart to enjoy your meal.

Yelp
I came here before and was blown away by how good it was. I ordered slightly different this time and have to say it was pretty average. The service was still great. They're so friendly and it was fast service. They even had some mints so freshen your breath at the end. And the place is still spacious, quaint, and fun. I think the three taco plate turned me off. Primarily the carne asada which was very tough. Too dry because it was burnt. The fish tacos plate combo with rice and beans still rocked. And the guac and chips were good. Slightly too citrusy.

Yelp
Absolutely, without question, the worst Fish & Chips I've ever had. And the service was terrible. It took over half an hour to get my order, and then the fish was awful. The breading was thick and doughy, and parts were literally uncooked. The fish inside was under cooked. The fries were soggy. And to top it off, they had no Malt Vinegar. Who serves Fish & Chips with no Malt Vinegar? Their website said they have clam chowder, but when I ordered that, they said they didn't have any. Not going back!

Yelp
IMHO First time here with my friend. We love trying out new places. This is a very colorful and charming Mexican restaurant that looks like it was once a gas station. I don't know that for a fact but there was a sign above the door that said, "NO SMOKING, STOP YOUR MOTOR". There is a small parking lot that maybe serves 9 spaces. There is both inside and outside dining. The patio tables are tiled and seating spacious. Most of the diners were eating outside on this lovely day. You order and pay at the front counter and take the order number to your table. I paid in cash, which saved me 3%, since I wasn't using credit. Don't forget the tip box!! I ordered the Fish n' Chips special, which came with a salad on the plate. I don't know what my friend ordered, but she loved her grilled taco. You'll just have to look at the pictures! My fish was super tasty and crispy! The gentleman who took our order was probably also the chef. It seemed like a one-man show. That's probably why it took a while for our food to make an appearance. The table we chose also needed to be cleared from the previous diners, but it was the only one left with shade. He apologized when he came to clear. Service was extremely friendly and helpful when asked. My fish n' chips platter came with cocktail sauce, which was a bit spicy for my fries. I didn't want to wait for Humberto to come back out to ask for ketchup, so I went inside. He graciously went into the fridge to get me a chilled squeeze bottle of ketchup! I think my salad had chipotle sauce on it instead of thousand island too. I will definitely return to Dia de Pesca!

Yelp
Generous portions! I ordered the salmon chimichanga and knew I was going to be taking it home so I chose to get the sauces on the side. The flour tortilla was fried, flakey and buttery. The sauces paired well with the salmon, though I would try the sea bass next time. Nice homey style restaurant and you order and pay at the front.

Yelp
We had gotten delivery from Dia de Pesca a few times during lockdown but this was the first time I took the bf to actually eat there in person. I ordered the three taco sampler that had a fried fish, a grilled fish, and some kind of meat taco. It came with two side options so I went for rice and beans. Also ordered shrimp ceviche for us to share. The bf got a vegetarian burrito that he said was one of the best vegetarian burritos ever because it had a lot of grilled vegetables inside. I felt like the prices were pretty reasonable and the portion sizes were good. The ceviche had a ton of shrimp! Their outdoor eating area is really special - it seems like you are eating in someone's garden. Lots of plants separating the eating area from the parking lot, and all the tables are colorful. We will definitely return.

Yelp
Dia de Pesca is one of our weeknight favorites - my girlfriend from San Diego has said it's her top Mexican food place in the Bay. We always get takeout, and the food is fab. Staff are so nice, and it's great they have sizeable indoor/outdoor dining. We love the sifood burritos and taco sampler. Sooo good! My pic is terrible but we always get too excited to eat right away to take pics.

Yelp
There's that feeling when you pass by a place so many times and when you finally try it you hope it's as good as you've made it out to be in your head...and IT IS THAT GOOD (or better). This is the case with Dia de Pesca. We came here on a sunny day in search of something fresh, healthy, and flavorful. Dia de Pesca delivered with everything! First, the patio is so inviting and they've done an amazing job at transforming a typical parking lot into a plant-packed oasis. The inside is cute too though! Food: My husband ordered the fish tacos and chose one shrimp, one halibut, and one tuna. He loved them all but surprisingly the shrimp were actually his favorite. I got the halibut fajitas and these were so yummy. I like to order fajitas often, but have never seen a fish option. I tried to get them with swordfish but they didn't have any. No matter, the halibut was bomb! I chose refried beans and corn tortillas. It also comes with guacamole, sour cream, rice, and some delicious crunchy veggies on the side. Drinks: We ordered two Micheladas! These came with two shrimps each...so good! You can pay more to have them come with more shrimp. The drink list looked interesting and I want to branch out in the future. Each drink is about $15 regular price and on Mondays they have a 50% off deal for margaritas! Service was friendly. The two staff working were very efficient even when the place filled up. Restroom is very clean.

Yelp
One line review: Pretty good. I visited my mother in San Jose, and she took me to Dia de Pesca. It was a pleasant visit. We ate on their attractive, spacious patio on a very sunny day. I know hardly anyone still cares about COVID-19 safety, but I still try to eat outside whenever I have the option, and their space is very nice. We each ordered the Seafood Taco Sampler -- three tacos with three different seafood meats and a choice of two 'sides' (beans, rice, salad, pozole). I'm pretty sure one of my tacos was chicken, though it was hard to complain about it since it was also the meatiest of the three. Portions were adequate -- not especially generous. In contrast, the pozole was meaty, and the salad was a good size. We visited on a Monday, so my mom got a $5 margarita -- beautiful and big. Service was friendlier than average and very competent. We appreciated them. Parking was free in their private lot. Bottom line: I would give this 3.5 stars if that were an option and will likely eat here again.

Yelp
I recently dined at Día de Pesca and had a fantastic experience! The food was exceptional - I ordered the chimichanga with steak and prawns, and it was absolutely delicious. The portion was massive, so be prepared to share or take some home for later! The ambiance inside was pleasant, with beautiful artwork adorning the walls. However, I would have loved to see a mural or some additional decorative elements to enhance the atmosphere. The outdoor seating area, on the other hand, was lovely, with string lights and umbrellas creating a romantic vibe perfect for a warm day. as a 49ers fan, I was dismayed to see a Raiders table and it's just hard for me to eat at a table i would feel like vomiting on haha The service was adequate, although our server seemed a bit frazzled. Despite this, we didn't receive any attitude or poor treatment, so it didn't detract from our overall experience. Overall, I would definitely recommend Día de Pesca for its tasty food and charming outdoor seating area.

Yelp
I've always wanted to try this place and finally had the opportunity to. It's a cute restaurant right off the main street and easy to miss if you're just driving by. The parking lot was small with plenty of street parking available. I got the taco sampler, which came with three different types of fish along with pozole and beans for my sides. Our food was quickly served despite how busy it was getting. I enjoyed all my tacos and liked how there was something different in each one. The pozole was very flavorful and not too salty. They gave more than enough beans, which made my entire dish extremely filling. Although the indoor seating area was on the smaller side, there was plenty of shaded outdoor seating to choose from!

Yelp
Great lively ambiance and loved the chill vibe. However the woman at the cash register was pretty unhelpful and I'm also pretty sure the fish I got was not halibut; or if it was it was the fishiest, boniest piece I've ever had. I was coming from the coast and my mom wanted a fish burrito so I stopped by this place given the reviews. They had a ton of fish options and when I asked the female cashier which was the freshest or which was local she said she didn't know what I was asking. I asked in Spanish (which I speak and others were speaking) and she replied in English that only the chef knows. It wasn't busy when I was there so I asked if she could ask them. She just said no and stood there. I probably should've just left but given the good reviews I ordered the two burritos. Price was fine and I liked their spicy salsa, but there were a ton of bones in my fish ("halibut") and it smelled old. The flavor was old too. I was not impressed and combined with the cold service will not be returning. Also note, no chips or salsa bar.

Yelp
It's a rare café where you can purchase both delicious coffee and fresh seafood, while being kind to your wallet (compared to many places, at least). Everything from the glass chairs (I feel like Cinderella!) to the fresh limes feels intentional. My favorite is the seafood salad which is fresh and there are plenty of fish options, including octopus and seasonal snapper. The cocktails are also delicious, sugar-free, and a nice addition for a girls lunch. It's the ideal spot for relaxing while waiting for your car to be repaired across the street. Thank you! You are a gem!

Yelp
Amazing Food! Authentic, and homemade style Mexican food. Great place to take your family and friends to grab a bite. They have great service, always willing to help, a variety of yummy items on the menu, and the area is very clean and well maintained. Feels like a food oasis! I ordered the chilaquiles rojos with rice. Also, you can tell their food is great quality by the chips and salsa! 10/10

Yelp
This taqueria is clean, well functioning & has really good fresh food. The service was expedient. My only comment is that no one spoke English & I don't trust my Spanish well enough to order correctly. Not a huge deal, but worth mentioning. On to the food: We had grilled Halibut tacos; chips; salsa; guacamole; bean & cheese burrito; a horchata and margaritas. Everything was so very fresh & delicious! I think I liked the bean & cheese burrito the best. Their flour tortillas seem to be made with butter, not lard. Yum! Halibut was delicious and fresh. Everything needed a dash of salt to us. Definitely recommend this place!

Yelp
Great spot for some tacos & burritos! We come here to satisfy the fish taco craving and there's always a yummy Fresca to wash it down. There's a lot of outdoor seating on their patio which is perfect if you've got a lot in tow like a stroller and a pup :) Servings are pretty large for the price and there's a lot of options for meat and non meat eaters! Knocking a star off because it might be tricky for those who are vegan/ have allergies-- I've found the servers don't always know exactly what might be in a dish (ex if there's dairy in the batter used for fish) so just be careful if you have any serious allergies! If not, enjoy the food and friendly staff :)

Yelp
Service was good! The guy was nice and gave a solid overview of options for the breakfast burrito and specified the lean quality chorizo they use. It's good chorizo and overall a good breakfast burrito. Few things: -crispy hashbrown is better than soft diced potatoes -bell peppers were a nice addition but should be uniform in their cut and grilled more (they were a bit crunchy) -way too heavy on the cheese. I think heavy cheese = making up for lack of flavor typically but the chorizo was good. I'd be down to try it again but instead of chorizo, get carne asada and no cheese

Yelp
Food is pretty good. Lots of flavor. Lots of spice. Good fresh seafood. Portions are just average. Price is high. Nice outdoor seating area. Fish and Chips (2): Average. Fish is in very small strips and you don't get much. Fries are a little thicker and not too crispy. Not worth the price. Si Food Burrito w Breaded Halibut (4): This was pretty good. Good flavors. Portion size was just average. Taco Sampler Plate (3): Good sample of Salmon, Asada, and Fish tacos. The tortilla is thicker than I'd like so sort of overpowered the stuff inside the taco. In fact, many bites were dry cause of too much tortilla. The meats were good but not enough for the tortilla. Sauces were decent. Chickenitza Taco (4): This was a pretty good sized taco. The flavor in this one shined through. I think their sauce was top notch. Crab Quesadilla (5): Awesome crab flavor! This one was the favorite of the meal. This one had a decent portion as well. Their Pozole and clam chowder soups were good. The hot sauces they had at the table were good as well. The chips and guacamole was good. Everything was decent. I'd come back but only for a craving. Price will prevent us from making this a regular occurrence.

Yelp
My wife and I have been going to Dia de Pesca for at least 12 years. The outdoor cactus and seating and the marquee sign provide a beautiful decor. We LOVE the wide variety of seafood. We also love the large number of dishes on the menu that continues to grow. 6 months ago the restaurant started serving breakfast. Today my son and I tried their breakfast for the first time. We both ordered the chilaquiles with green sauce with sides of grilled prawns and scallops. We had Mexican coffee with it. It was amazing! The service was great and the food was delicious! I used to recommend the local restaurant chain across from Dia de Pesca for breakfast. However, I am thoroughly convinced that Dia de Pesca provides a much better value.

Yelp
It's my first time here and let me tell you it's amazing my favorite part was the chile relleno that Melanie was gladly able to accommodate and make it ala carta for my picky person (me) my son got the chilaquiles and the steak and the sauce everything was so delicious thank you so much for the service Carlos will definitely be back p.s they have Banda Fridays !! Yelp
The seats aren't comfortable and don't really have backs. The food took quite awhile to arrive. The ambiance is nice. I felt the food was fine but nothing special. Due to the chairs alone I probably wouldn't return.

Love this outside seating they have a TV you can watch sports on. Servers are friendly and food is delicious.

Yelp
I'm guilty of being a regular at Dia de Pesca by virtue of my proximity, but it's indeed quite a solid stop for comfortable Mexican food. They do have a slight issue with consistency sometimes, so it's hard for me to give full marks overall, but it's hard not to fall back on them just because they're convenient and give quite a great value for the money (as far as food goes). There's a limited amount of parking space by virtue of their private lot, but it tends to fill up at peak hours so you'll be stuck with street parking after. Seating is evenly spread between indoors and outdoors (mostly covered) options so it's a nice casual spot to dine in. They have lots of margarita specials and plenty of tacos, but my go to is the Chickenitza Burrito since it's a lovingly creamy, rice, spiced house chicken mix that I favor from them. I've also had their Chimichanga and it is *quite* the luxuriousness of richness in a package. Generally I've not had quality issues, but sometimes I'll get a dry patch of meat, slightly not fresh produce. Not perfect, but I forgive them for the flaws since it's pretty reasonably priced for what they offer. I do appreciate the option for a whole wheat tortilla though. It just tastes better to me, but I'm probably like the only person that gets them...

Yelp
I've been on a lucky roll lately for picking good places where I've never been before. Our dentist moved, and they're now near here, so me and my kids had lunch here today. Fantastic! Ok, I decided to get the salad and pazole to be different. The guy said the pazole was like Mexican soup. Nope. The way that they make it here, is more like a beef stew. The salad wasn't just an excuse of a salad as a side dish, but had real green lettuce, onions, cucumbers, and tomatoes. Another nice surprise. I also got the 3 taco special, and that was really good too. Very tasty all around. The food came quick, and the service was great. Hopefully we can make it back before our next dentist appointment.

Yelp
We came here for lunch with our dog Zoey, and had a very nice experience. You order inside and they bring the food to your table. There are inside as well as outside tables. My husband had the 3 taco plate special. It comes with two sides, and he chose salad and pozole. He ate the whole thing. I had a veggie chimichanga, and it was huge. I ate close to half. It was very tasty. It had a slight bit of bite or spice to it, which I would have preferred to do without, but it was not enough to ruin the taste for me. We would definitely go back.

Yelp
This spot has been here as long as i can remember. I've lived in the area my entire life, and have driven by this place literally thousands of times. Well, 1 night, my mom asked me to bring her here to eat. This is how the experience went. You park in a festive little parking lot, with flags and pottery. At first site, you might mistake this place for a pottery store. when you walk up to the restaurant- you see a portable trailer with a big window. This is where the kitchen is. You can see the staff working away on orders. When you walk into the restaurant, it's order then sit. Specials are on the wall, ajacent to the beverage cooler. The restaurant itself is on the smaller side, but clean and quaint. This is also outdoor seating on the patio, with at least 1 TV (i went on a Thursday and people where eating out there watching TNF). THE FOOD. Let's just say i was kicking myself for not coming here after living here all my life. the food is GOOD. I ordered a Chimichanga- Crisp on the outside, soft on the inside- the right amount of rice and meat. Ingredients are FRESH. You can just taste the freshness and texture. The Spanish rice and beans are solid. Rice is fluffy and moist, Beans (refried) are cooked to perfection. Got my wife a Camarones burrito and it beats out some of the other taqueria's around here (who i shant name out of respect). Kids ordered a small quesedilla which really is the smaller ones you see in the grocery store, so be mindful if your little one can eat. It was cooked perfect though- melted cheese throughout, w a side of Guac & Sour Cream. Guac btw was super fresh! My other one ordered the special- 3 carnitas tacos. This was a TOGO Order (hence no pics), but he asked me if we could go back to get more. Here is the mark of a good spot in my opinion. That's when you ask the family where they want to eat, and you mention the place you just ate at the night before, and everyone is down to go again the very next night. Well that's this place for sure. In fact, I will probably find myself over here tonight. ..

Yelp
Nice and cute little restaurant on the corner of a busy street in San Jose Ca. Close to HGWY 880 and close to the famous Valley Fair Shopping mall. The fish tacos were delish. I ordered the Tilapia fish and they were cooked well and big tacos. 2 was enough for me. The chips and salsa were pretty basic. Spicy sauce and chips tasted like they were bought and not made at the facility, The Jamaica drink was ok. Tasted like it was powder mix instead of the real Jamaica plant you boil and strain and then add your sugar to it. Like most Mexican homes make when you are growing up. Some of you know what I am talking about. Over all 4 stars. If the Agua de Jamaica was a TRUE ONE. I would have rated it 5 stars. The young 10 yr old waitress was learning her rope and helping the Familia. It was my 1st time there and I will return to try the Caldo De Pescado and Try the Fish Burritos.

Yelp
This is our go-to restaurant for quick, delicious, and high-quality taqueria food. Honestly, we eat here multiple times a month (hey, a girl needs her burrito fix) and have never been let down. Our favorite thing to get is the shrimp and octopus cocktail. The broth is flavorful and it's stuffed full of seafood - no skimping here. We also love their tacos, and have been pleased with the pozole. While Dia de Pesca specializes in seafood, they also have beef, pork, and chicken options. The chorizo was a pleasant surprise and The carne asada is my go-to if I don't feel like fish. The carnitas are cooked traditionally, which means they can be a little greasy. As you can see, we love it here. The service is fast, the outdoor seating area is super cute, and the food is fantastic.

Yelp
When you arrive you order at the register and then find a seat to eat. They have a decent amount of tables outside and a few tables inside to eat as well. They have lots of alcoholic beverages available and aguas Frescas to choose from with a good amount of bottled beverage in the refrigerator where you can grab them yourself and take with you to pay at the register. This was our first time here service was definitely lacking as it was only two people serving and alternating taking orders at the register. We ordered the Salsa, Guacamole and Chips, Tostada de Mixto Ceviche, Fajitas, Tacos de Pescado Frito, Coconut Shrimp, Aguachiles de Habanero, Jalapeño Margarita and Flan with an Agua Fresca. They were pretty busy and we could tell they didn't have enough staff. So this might have been why our experience was lacking. The good- Agua Fresca was great, the Jalapeño Margarita was good and refreshing, Coconut Shrimp were freshly fried nice and hot with good flavor and I was a huge fan of the Flan. Sadly all of the food was lacking flavor and we added salt to everything. Not sure if this was just an off day for them since I read reviews before coming here and it seems people really like the food here. I grew up eating Mexican seafood so I may be expecting more in flavor that most people but the flavor over all was very bland for ceviche and aguachiles. The fried fish tacos were cold (I was starving so I eat them) and we even sent the fajita back because the shrimp and meat was cold too. When the reheated plate of fajitas came back it was a lot better but again needing that flavor. We had to get a reimbursement for the guacamole, chips and salsa since they forgot to bring it to us. Overall nothing impressive in our experience here but if I'm in the area I would probably get another flan to go .

Yelp
Before I moved to the Bay, one of my friends recommended several spots in San Jose. This was one of them. Drove down on a Sunday for lunch. Previous reviews indicated cash only so I made that stop first. They do take card now though. Or maybe they always have? Parking is limited. If none in their small lot, then street parking is available. I entered thinking it was a coffee shop. And walked around confused as to where the taco counter was to order. The kitchen area had a window and one of the cooks indicated where I entered initially was where to order. Got their special which was a 3-taco plate (2 fish, 1 meat) that comes with two sides. I went with beans and clam chowder. The tacos were great. I enjoyed the breaded cod taco the most. The beans lacked flavor. The clam chowder was very thick. Think of the canned soup and no water was added. The ceviche was packed. It did lack flavor though. I went through a couple of limes and even added salt and hot sauce. By the way, the habanero hot sauce bottles they have are amazing! Highlight here was their extensive drink menu. I went with a Michelada (you can choose what beer you want). It came with 2 grilled shrimp as a garnish. Nice spot, but the flavors were lacking for me.

Yelp
Don't ever get the crab it is certainly not fresh it's from a can or plastic container it was watery and brown didn't taste good and when I mentioned it the woman that works there pretended not to speak English and then got mad at me and walked away so terrible service and a very chintzy small portion totally unhappy however if you get the margarita half price on Monday it's barely okay

Yelp
A nice environment with ample seating outdoor and indoor. Flavors are good but nothing over the top. Enjoy the seafood soup the most. Wish there's homemade sauces. Salsa is not that good and it's not free. Overall, it lacks freshness in each bite but flavors are still good. Hits the spot for me cos I was craving seafood and warm tortilla

Yelp
Great tacos and a really enjoyable outside seating area. Great options for Mexican food and we always go for the tacos. Service is great and your food arrives hot and fast, now it's time to enjoy the great flavors maybe a beer and take in the relaxing ambiance of their outdoor seating. Enjoy.

Yelp
We went here for lunch as it is near our office and we all enjoyed our lunch. This was our first time going here too. The parking lot is small but street parking is available. Order at the register and you'll receive a number. The food will be served to you. The utensils and napkins are located by the patio doors, if you're dining inside. There is also a utensils and napkins area if dining on the patio. There are various menus on the counter, above the register and against the wall. I opted for the carne asada quesadillas with a pineapple mango fresca. Chips and salsa are not free. We didn't have to wait long for our food. My quesadilla was hefty and came with guacamole that had a kick to it, not a spicy spice. Their calamari was well done, not too much batter and greasy. The pineapple mango fresca was so refreshing and wished I had gotten a large instead of a medium. Their prices are reasonable too. The outdoor patio dining area would be perfect for summer.

Yelp
I remember the first time my wife took me here. I was like, this is a weird setup. A small building that when you walk in, you are right where you order your food. They had some tables inside and lots of outdoor seating. It was a hot and sunny day. While sitting there waiting for our food, the decor, the look, and vibe of the place made you feel like you were in Mexico (for a moment). The kitchen was a trailer with all the cooks in there. But, out came some amazing food. Now, they have completely remodeled. The kitchen is a building now. CHICA SIFOOD QUESADILLA A flour tortilla filled with melted cheese & filling of choice, we chose Halibut, served with cabbage, pico de gallo, sour cream & guacamole. Who doesn't like a melty cheesy quesadilla!?!. The flish was nice and flaky. REGULAR SIFOOD BURRITO Grilled Prawn w/bell peppers & onions, rice, whole beans, pico de gallo, chopped cucumbers, chipotle & tomatillo sauce. Delicious and was filling. TOSTADA de CEVICHE MIXTA (Prawn, Octopus, Crab) - Marinated in fresh lime juice with pico de gallo. I liked this as they married all the flavors together. The crab was tiny shreds of meat, maybe not worth the extra cost. CLAM CHOWDER ROJA CUP - Hmmm, the thick chowder was just ok. It wasn't anything special, sorta like a can of soup. I was too full, but I am interested in trying the CALDO de MARES or CAMARONES al MOJO de AJO

Yelp
I've been coming to this place for a long time. The fish tacos are great. Recently, they add pozole as a side dish and I think it's a good idea. The patio is quiet and nice. The service is slow so take your time when you go there, but the food is great.

Yelp
The scallop taco was pretty good. The sauce and the amount that was added were good and just right. Their chorizo taco was pretty good too. The chorizo has an excellent taste and I would love to grab another one if I am around the area. It was my first time at the restaurant too.
