Been here twice and will just lump the 2 reviews together as the experience was fairly the same as coincidentally we had the same waitresses. I had the lemon pepper wings, extra crispy and those wings were very good and I asked for extra lemon pepper and it was provided. The drink I had was a clasico which is similar to the old fashioned drink and was prepared very well. The atmosphere is amazing and the view is phenomenal!

We went to this restaurant to celebrate our anniversary. The view was breathtaking, and we spent a lovely evening on the patio. I ordered three tacos which tasted good, but I felt they were a bit small considering their price. My wife ordered a quesadilla, and she enjoyed it. We also had nacho fries, and they were tasty. Our overall experience with food and drinks was great, and we're grateful for the opportunity to dine at this establishment.

We went on a Monday night. They have great music and strong misting fans. The food is amazing and the don't skimp on the alcohol. Definitely will visit again.

This place just got new ownership and let me tell you. If they continue the way it was last night, they will thrive!! Everyone was awesome! The waitresses were on point and super sweet!! I felt special last night. The views are amazing and the food was delish!!! I want to go back just to eat the steak fries!! Probably the best I've ever had!!! I wish this place many years of success!!

Everything was as expected at a rooftop bar in downtown. The food was solid, service was consistent and the atmosphere was of course the best part. Always catch the sunset for the best part and the best angles. Use night mode for your cameras to catch those great memory pictures. Even the non-alcoholic drinks were pretty well made. Definitely will come back.

Had amazing sunset views. Had a couple drinks on the roof. The Local news was there shooting LIVE. Saw Corey from Arizona 10 News. Met some old friends, Drinks were amazing. Got chilly when the sun dropped, then we left.

I am so confused how I feel about this place. The elevator starts out as a lot of fun 🤩 It’s covered in stickers, and I find it amusing. The Rooftop has a great view if you’re looking far into the distance. If you’re looking over the edge, it’s nothing special. It’s not like the streets below are just beautiful or breathtaking. The drinks are good, but they are pricey. There’s nothing special going on when I visit so it’s just an expensive drink and staring out into the city. That can be nice and peaceful for a little while with a friend but then we always get bored and go over to another spot close by where the drinks are way cheaper. Because we have more to drink at the cheaper place we have a lot more fun there. We’re not just staring out over a balcony. The staff is friendly enough. They really won’t speak to you unless you’re ordering something. So again we wind up going to this other spot, where the staff gets excited to see us, recognizes us, socializes with us, making us feel more welcome. If you feel like being boring, and just relaxing, this is the perfect spot. If you’re not trying to socialize or meet anyone, this is perfect. By the way, I’m usually there mid afternoon . I have been there on a Friday night and the vibe was different. Typical Friday night party crowd.

Google
Great vibes all the way around. The staff was super friendly and very quick with the service. The drinks were good and priced fairly. Loved the views and we went at sunset so it was nice outside. We were seated quickly and they played decent music. The waitress said that normally they have dancing there but on that night there was a private event that had the dance floor. Will definitely go back on a night where I can experience the dancing. Most certainly worth the visit!

Yelp
The ambiance was amazing. The servers were nice and catering. The drinks were ok. Didn't have a chance to taste the food. I would definitely go back

Yara D.

Yelp
Went to this location with a bunch of friends for book club. Some people ordered food and some ordered desserts. I ordered a flan and it was harder than expected, but it tasted good. The service was very good. Waiters kept checking on us and brought a heater since it was a chilly night. I saw many people on dates while we were there. I would likely go again with the hubby during sunset when it's not cold.

Charlie C.

Yelp
Been going here for years, recently they did some adjusting to seating its fells overcrowded where you first walk in and at the bar they need to rearrange was a more relax chill vibe now it's like take seat order and get out vibe, this place dose have the best views of downtown and the Valley but you can enjoy or walk around and mingle cause it more of a restaurant style now. Adding waitress and more drink options and DJ/music was a plus

Yelp
Came for a friend's surprise birthday hangout for evening drinks. Arrived around 6:20pm-ish and allowed for us to catch the perfect sunset off the rooftop. The outdoor patio is spacious and has an area that's more covered with chairs and spots to sit down and also some areas that you can stand (which you see my friends and me doing). The drinks are good (not amazing) but I'd say they were alright... what makes up for it is the view you get of the city. Truly beautiful. Moderately priced and a some nice and unique cocktail offerings. We did have a dedicated server but we had to go find them a few times, didn't feel like there was a ton of proactive customer service (just our experience, but we were a large party so perhaps that had to do with it). The eats are the basic bar foods, it didn't strike me as sit down for dinner, it is the rooftop that you go for. They have water in a large jug that you can pour yourself, some clear plastic cups available next to it for you to serve. Go for the rooftop and HH cocktails, that is what I would recommend.

Vanessa H.

Yelp
2 stars for the views and the live music! They have a pool on top of the roof at this restaurant and bar. The drink I ordered was okay and the food was mediocre at best. I ordered the sliders with a side of French fries. For the price, they are extremely underwhelming. The meat was a bit chewy and they were not generous with the condiments. The music was lovely, however, and the views are awesome. You can see all of the downtown skyline!

Kaitlyn S.

Yelp
Great views and drinks! We also ordered the quesadilla and tacos which were decent. We came in with a group of 10 on Saturday around 6 and got seated quickly since it wasn't very busy. Service was just OK. Forgot my drink order seconds after taking it, didn't know the beers on draft, and would only do one thing when stopping by our table before running off. We had to track her down a couple times including getting our checks which was frustrating since they required a card when we sat down. If you don't want people running out in their bill maybe bring it to them?

Molly S.

Yelp
View is amazing, comfortable seating and plenty of heaters for when it cools down at night. Staff is very friendly. Drinks are nothing special, nothing you couldn't make at home for a lot cheaper. The appeal here is the rooftop view more so than the food/drinks in my opinion. Great place to show someone a 360 view of Phoenix or to watch the sunset.

Trisha Z.

Yelp
We have been to this rooftop bar many times. During the day you can sit anywhere and have a drink. At night or at least on Fridays you can't sit at the tables for a drink so they have one couch by the bar for nonfood people..There was a DJ on Friday night. It's really pretty day or night and you can see all of Phoenix.

MoShai G.

Yelp
Stopped in on a Friday to relax from a busy week. When I say the views and ambiance are amazing! I could sit and stare all day. When I first walked in I had to say excuse me 5 times for this server to talk to me (she was standing within arm's distant) they finally sat me down and things were a bit weird after that. My friend came and we both ordered the same drinks (3rounds) and for some reason each time my drink came out the glass got smaller and smaller it was so weird and no explanation. I didnt complain but asked what was happening and the waitress couldnt explain lol. Brussel sprouts were fire... I give them a B+! THE DJ!!! 5 stars and I will come back because of the music and vibes. The drinks and food were decent nothing to write about. Love the views though.

Justin C.

Yelp
I had a reservation at From the Rooftop and it was a complete disappointment. It took an eternity to get our drinks after we were seated. When the food finally arrived, it was a letdown. The chips were stale and the salsa was like water. We also ordered the Diablo fries which were lukewarm, and the steak was overcooked, all for a hefty $20. I would have had a better meal at Filiberto's. To make matters worse, one of our party ordered a drink before the food, but it didn't arrive until after we had finished eating. I went to the bar myself and got a drink immediately, highlighting the lackluster service. Despite reminding our server multiple times, it took a whopping 30 minutes for our friend to receive her drink. Our server was nowhere to be found and had a rude attitude whenever we inquired about the delay. Overall, our experience at From the Rooftop was abysmal. The service was slow, the food was subpar, and the attitude of the staff was unacceptable. I would not recommend this place to anyone and will certainly not be returning.

Mandy K.

Yelp
This was one of the first places I ever went to in downtown Phoenix. It has a beautiful view when it rains. It's fun for day time leisure, adventure or on a Saturday night.

Daria S.

Yelp
Went to this restaurant for a girls night and was not impressed. The food took over an hour to come out because the kitchen was extremely backed up. We almost considered leaving and eating somewhere else. When our food finally arrived it lacked flavor and was not worth the price. The cocktails were also disappointing and weak. The view from the rooftop was very nice however I will not be returning.

K M.

Yelp
Held my 40th bday party there - it was an absolute blast. Sylvia was an amazing bartender, the music was bumpin' and we had the best views!

Elizabeth H.

Yelp
The view from here is amazing. However, service is very slow. I've been here several times, and most recently we walked out after sitting at the table for 10 minutes with no service. The drinks are fine, but very basic, and (again) slow to come out. This could be overlooked if they had a better happy hour, but it is hard to justify spending $13 on a margarita when other places have them for $6-8. The food I've had here is actually pretty good, and I really like their quesadilla. It is also worth mentioning they have this odd pool(?) in the middle of their dining area. It's only 2 feet deep, and nobody swims in it. It also doesn't appear to be a fountain...

Brandon K.

Yelp
My friends and I came for a little celebration and it was epic! The service and ambiance was amazing and if you're lucky and have Vanessa to assist you, you'lll be in the best hands! I definitely recommend this place!

Timothy H.

Yelp
We arrived late on a Friday night as we had a late flight into Phoenix. We were hungry but not starving. Since we were staying in the hotel we decided to just go up to the rooftop and have a drinks and an app. We ended up having the sliders which were delicious , very tasty and totally hit the spot. The fries were good but nothing special there. Our waiter was very friendly and told us about the area and how he was getting ready for his sisters wedding. The roof was very crowded with young kids but they were behaved, just quite a few of them. The only warning I would give would be the roof is a little pricey. Our sliders and two drinks a piece ran us 100.00. Overall we get it a 5.

Josette D.

Yelp
The food is mid and same with the service. You cannot make any substitutions on food and apparently the chef or whoever is the kitchen (because let's be real they can't really cook) is a Nazi (waitress words not mine) about changes. I got three tiny sliders with barely any of the jalapeño jam. I asked for lettuce and was charged .50 for a little dust of "lettuce " . Not to mention the random $1 charges. The money is not an issue but the consistency is. I live not even a half a mile away in downtown so I've been here a few times before and every time drinks are different prices. This was my first time getting food and was NOT impressed. I could have gone down the street for better food and service. The server Melanie was not the most pleasant but luckily lightened up a bit towards the end of our visit. THE VIEW IS WHAT EARNED THE STARS

Austin S.

Yelp
Pretty solid rooftop in the heart of DT Phoenix! I liked the music and drinks were fine. However I'd be hesitant to go back based on how long it took us to get drinks. Service should be expedited or they need to hire more bar staff.

Dakota J.

Yelp
I'm leaving this review for our amazing server Melanie! She was the most attentive and friendly server I've had in a long time. Super sweet and caring, great communication. She made sure we had everything we needed and even checked in after we paid our bill. Food has been pretty good compared to the past. Photos attached. View is absolutely amazing and to get a good seat it's best to come early.

Julie B.

Yelp
Good views for sunset and no problem getting a table even on first Friday. Service was better than expected after reading reviews. We had a couple different people wait on us, so no issues there. I picked this place because I heard they play house music, but the dj on at sunset wasn't great... like early 2000s music, but when second dj came on (around 8) it got better. Unfortunately we were leaving by then.

Judy L.

Yelp
Love the view! That is it. The parking sucked, the food was mediocre at best and little burnt, service was so-so slow, the music was so loud to the point we could not hear each other, and my drink was watered down. Maybe I will try this again, because I loved the view.

Omari D.

Yelp
This was the perfect meet-up spot for some friends coming into town so that we can reminisce. The weather outside was ideal for October and it wasn't too crowded when we arrived. I'm always a few minutes late, but I got the right friends who show up on time and were able to secure an area for all of us to sit in and join. The views alone are a sweet vibe and our real cool bartenders that night did a great job of trying to keep the pace (with long lines). Like my previous visits, I learned you have to look for the people in the right shirt which is light blue. That way you can get service to your actual area without having to leave to go to the bar. Would definitely recommend the Rooftop as a starting point or meet up before heading out for any other activities or consider this your final spot at the end of the night.

Shawnna P.

Yelp
Very urban sunset view. Expensive drinks. Service is super friendly, but not very attentive. There was live entertainment.

Janine H.

Yelp
Not the best selection of drinks and the canned beer wasn't cold. Had to send it back and opt for a beer on tap that I wasn't a fan of. The 3 stars are for the vibe and view. Very relaxing spot to chill. There was even a guy plying the piano and singing.

Greshka P.

Yelp
We arrived that same night, and trying to make the most of the little time we had in Phoenix, we left our luggage in the room and went up to their rooftop bar to start our night. The place wasn't too busy so we were able to get drinks quick. Prices, as you can imagine are a bit high to match the rooftop but the view and ambiance were worth it. You get to enjoy a view, fresh air, comfortable seating and some hanging "egg" swings too. People arriving were dressed either casual or "dressed to be seen" all accepted and served equally. Would be cool if they had some live music to add to the chill vibe, then again, maybe they do and I just wasn't there for it. Overall this is a nice bar to relax, enjoy a drink and the view.

Yelp
I booked a furniture cluster for my stepdaughter's bachelorette party. The process to request the reservation went smoothly and Steven, the Catering Sales Manager, was a delight to work with. He was prompt in his responses and provided excellent information and service. We reserved a furniture cluster for a Saturday night from 6-8:30 pm at a price of $350 which would be applied towards food and beverage and a tip of 24% for our server. When we arrived at the location, we exited the elevator to a mass of people on the rooftop, with very little staff to be seen. There was a long line for the bar and people everywhere. I went to one of the servers who were waiting for drinks at the bar and they were able to help us locate our reserved furniture cluster and ask the people who were sitting there to leave. Quinn promptly took our cocktail order and I ordered some of the buffalo cauliflower wings vegan and a couple of orders of french fries. It was very very dark on the rooftop and we had to use our flashlights to see the menu. The cocktails were delivered in a reasonable time as well as the appetizers. I noticed the wings had buffalo cheese crumbles on them but chalked it up to a small error and did not say anything about it. Only a few of us were vegan, including the bride. The servers were clearly busy with all the people there and it looked like there were just 2 servers at the time with a fully packed rooftop. We didn't have the service I was expecting but it was ok. We continued ordering more food and drinks and no one was clearing our dirty plates or glasses regularly. Then the 4 orders of Impossible meat vegan tacos came out. As I mentioned before, it was completely dark on the rooftop so it was hard to see the food. We all dug into the tacos but something was off to me so I shined a light on the taco and it was shredded chicken. I mentioned that to Quinn and he said they changed the menu the day before so now they only have chicken tacos. The bride had eaten 1.5 tacos by the time I caught it. I took the table menu, which was still showing Impossible meat tacos vegan on it, and went to the front desk downstairs. The front desk attendant happily got in contact with the manager and he promptly came out to talk to me. I let him know about the buffalo cauliflower wings and the tacos and how disappointed we all were. Chris was kind and apologetic and worked on finding solutions for us. He was able to reorder all the food on the house, made the right way as it was described on the menu. Chris completely turned the evening around for us. He was present and attentive for the rest of our time there, and the servers were more helpful with him there as well. If only this review were based solely on Chris' attention to solving the problem, it would be a 10-star review. Unfortunately, there were glaring problems in the food preparation, staffing problems with a shortage in waiters providing service, and a need for a better check-in process for the high-dollar furniture clusters. I would recommend this rooftop bar, but with caution. They are the only rooftop bar I found with vegan items on the menu so I think it is worth checking them out for all my vegan peeps. Just bring a flashlight to double-check the food :)

Shakira M.

Yelp
Celebrated a friend's birthday here. Hotel is pretty cool. Awesome city views, enjoyed the music vibe, plenty of areas to sit on the rooftop. They have an outdoor TV, cool pool which we were wondering if people actually enjoyed the pool or if it was just for decoration Service was great with attentive staff. I only had a handful of truffle fries which I enjoyed while my boyfriend had the burger sliders and tacos. He loved the sliders but wasn't a fan of the tacos just saying they were weird. Great place for happy hour, date night or just friends hanging out.

Kate R.

Yelp
Unlike other reviews, the staff seated me and put my order in quickly. That's really the only reason I'm giving 2 stars. I would skip both the black bean burger and the cocktail I ordered. Nothing to write home about. The view is pretty good, but you can't walk all the way around it so the best part of the sunset is blocked off. Also the hotel locks the doors in the morning so you can't go up to see the sunrise even if you are staying there.

Charles W.

Yelp
We decided to stop by this place since we saw it on our way to dinner and wanted a nice view of the Phoenix sunset. The place was incredibly busy on a Saturday night, with a ton of graduation parties especially that specific weekend. As for food, we only get the drinks, fries, and spinach dip so we can't speak too much on it. The fries and the spinach dip were a bit mediocre - they definitely tasted like something that was previously frozen. Service was hit or miss. Sometimes we would be able to flag the server down, but most of the time the servers were all too incredibly busy to remember what we needed (like ranch). The highlight of this place is easily the view and seeing the sun set on the mountains in the background. It was a lovely experience though hampered immensely by food and service.

Olly J.

Yelp
Delightful, to say the least. Perfect downtown view of the city but still very calm setting. The skyline is amazing and the staff was very catering to the fact it was cold. Drinks are a bit steep but for the view and vibes it's worth it. Live musician that wasn't too loud but also engaging enough for us to notice. Must stop outchea in Phoenix! Perfect date night spot

Stephen F.

Yelp
Went here over the Christmas break and was pleasantly surprised. The views of downtown and midtown are good, that was the first thing I noticed. I ordered the classic burger, and my wife ordered the tacos. Both were pretty good! I loved the fries, they were crunchy enough and seasoned well. Our waitress (didnt catch her name) wasnt that great, had to flag her down a few times to get refills. The music volume was just about right on the north side of the patio, however on the south side facing downtown it was too loud. I feel sorry for the apartments across the street having to listen to it all night long. Prices were a bit high for what you get, but not so bad that you'll never give the place another try. Space heaters were provided on that frigid night, which is a must for a place like this, so they seem well-prepared to deal with the cold winter weather. Overall I liked it, I'll be back one day.

Julie D.

Yelp
At the top of the modern Cambria hotel in downtown Phoenix. Arrived at 5pm. There was a private corporate event that was taking up the best side of the rooftop for watching the sunset. Otherwise, there were about 5 other tables occupied. Within 30 minutes it got packed. Service was very very slow as there was only one bartender for the whole Rooftop. We ordered drinks, which room about 25 minutes to get. We ordered appetizers and got those within 10 minutes. Spinach dip was just ok, served in a bread bowl, a little bland. The Buffalo cauliflower was very good. Spicy and cooked perfectly. The shrimp spring roll looked like a live shrimp. It tasted good, different from your regular spring roll. Drinks were alright. Fun place to go for a drink and some appetizers while watching the sun set. I imagine service was subpar this night and will be better at another time. Check it out. On street parking.

Yelp
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vrv4_16WWKU&t=36s video click link above One the best rooftop eatery See the whole THE VALLEY of in the heart of DT Phoenix

Veronique C.

Yelp
Great views and perfect for a drink and a bite while watching the sunset. Plenty of seating from lounge chairs to high to high top tables. My husband was not impressed with the beer selection but my cocktail, the El Diablo, was good!

Vanessa C.

Yelp
Horrible service if you want to wait 100 years for your food and not get it all at the same time then come here. I suggest of you guys cant handle the business then just let the line build outside. Would not recommend if you are trying to have a good night. Worst experience! One star is not even fair

Violeta H.

Yelp
Nice views to enjoy the evening. The food is a-okay but was mostly there for the views. I would return if i was in area but its kinda far from me to come back often. enjoyed my time here last Friday.

Nancy S.

Yelp
We enjoyed the atmosphere, our server Sierra was great! Food came out promptly as well as drinks. Definitely coming back.

Keanna W.

Yelp
This place was a cool vibe during the day in 80 degree weather and it's great that they have umbrellas and covered seating because you can burn up out there. They had a live DJ who played great music so that was nice. The drinks were okay though.

Rhett G.

Yelp
I always have such a good time here. It was a bit busy last night but we were still able to get a table after a short wait. The drinks are pretty good and the food is incredible. I recommend the rooftop fry's or the wings!

Gabby R.

Yelp
Service was so amazing. I had a great time at from the roof top, Travis the bartender that works nights is amazing and provides amazing service and will definitely be back for a drink. Thanks sis

Jonathan L.

Yelp
Went here last night for my girlfriends birthday because a friend recommended it because of the view. Unfortunately they didn't tell me about the poor food quality, horrible service and lack clarity around the whole rooftop. 1 star only for the view nothing else. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY OR TIME!! Food- tasted like a food truck quality burger, I got ranch with my fries and the ranch was so water down and a bit warm the ranch didn't even stay on the fry just dripped right off. My girl got tacos and specifically asked if there was anything spicy and the server said just the pico so we got it with it off the tacos but she didn't even eat one of these tiny street tacos because the meat was spicy too. So we asked for a plain cheese quesadilla .. because how can you mess that up??? Well someone did! This had black bean and jalapeño in them.... After we just sent something back for for being to spicy. NO attention to detail here or just basic care for quality. Service- 0/10 no host to seat or even a sign saying it's open seating. We sat down and waited 5 min before i got up to get a server. We were brought 1 water cup each and never asked if we wanted more the whole hour we were there. We finally order and wait for who knows how long for my food to came out .. waited 5 min and had to go track down our server to see when the tacos would have been out then another 3 min before it came out. She never checked on us and I had to get up and go to her 4 time because she didn't come to us. I had to walk up to her to order a shot because she drop food and walk away instantly. The only thing she was on top of was bring the check. I'm sure she was annoyed of me but guess what if you would just do your job you wouldn't have to be annoyed of me. She did not deserve a tip but I'm not a bad person so she still got something but she deserved $0 from me. Don't wait you time calling nobody answer and voice mail is full. The entire experience felt like there was no manager running the show. I wish i would have gotten a name. But we were so Hungry leaving that we just paid and left. * side note she asked for a card to have on file for the night and now I'm thinking it's because people walk out on her all the time because she knows she is that bad.

Zach H.

Yelp
The views are amazing at sunset! It was easy to get drinks on a Thursday night as it was not too crowded. Sure the drinks are expensive but it is not a place I would sit and drink all day. I will be back for another sunset.

Kyle K.

Yelp
Great views from the heart of Phoenix. We stopped in here for a drink and to watch the sunset. It is a bit tricky to find this place as you have to enter the hotel lobby then take the elevator and push R. See the photo of my beautiful wife at the painting across from the elevator. Our bartender was great. She said they have new ownership and are expecting to have an appetizer menu soon. She knew her stuff and was very friendly. My wife got the Shout it Out. She really enjoyed it. You could probably drink a warm PBR with these views and be content. There is tons of seating and even a pool and umbrellas. We found a comfy couch. For whatever reason they do not face the sunset but no big deal. The lighting was fantastic. You can walk around the whole rooftop to get great views of the city. Close bathroom that was sparkling clean. There is a restaurant below nearing completion. Looked nice and we would have eaten there if it was open. I must say despite the challenges finding this spot I am glad we did.

Fred S.

Yelp
Food is phenomenal! Vanessa and Paris are wonderful and very helpful. A welcome addition to the dining experience. The vibe and live entertainment from the rooftop makes this destination a must see. It's not just food, it's an experience!!

Dana H.

Yelp
We came here on a Sunday afternoon around 1pm. The DJ had just setup and people were just starting to flow onto the Rooftop. The food here was good and I really like the fries. The service was good as well but nothing to brag or complain about. The vibe of being on the rooftop with a decent view, good weather, music, and drinks is EVERYTHING though! I had a spicy margarita which was really good as well. We will return for another Sunday brunch vibe!

Lacey G.

Yelp
W head a great time on the rooftop! The staff on the way up were very nice and the bartender was so nice as well as the drinks were generously made. There was a DJ playing live music and there wasn't a major crowd which was nice. There are great views all around, and the rooftop atmosphere makes for a really great time. You can take your shoes off and sit and dip your feet or stand in the pool. I enjoyed the experience of being able to have some drinks while enjoying the city and Mountain View's.

Veronica P.

Yelp
Drink was pretty but not very good. Service was ok. I mean, on the menu it said vibe hour from 5:00-10:00pm on a Sunday (I was there around 5:45). But when I tried to order food off it they said it was no longer happy hour. That's fine I get it even though your advertising is wrong. But what got me other than the slow service and the waitress taking forever to greet me, was her telling me my drink would be $2 off when I ordered it and when I got the bill it was full price. I didn't even bother correcting it because it wasn't worth it. I just took $2 off her tip. While she was nice, she wasn't very good at knowing the menu and specials. I'd only come back for the view and only if I was with someone who wanted to come. Otherwise, expensive drinks are subpar and service is bad. Way better cocktail bars in DT Phoenix. The waitress, according to my receipt, was Paris. She was awful.

Yelp
"From The Rooftop strives to bring guests to new heights through delectable eats, divine views, and a social atmosphere that provides a sense of luxury, freedom, and fun." -- From The Rooftop CAP. So, today was my birthday! And From The Rooftop totally killed the vibe... Like deaded it. Yes, the view is amazing and the food was good, they did not provide a social atmosphere that provided a sense of luxury, freedom, and fun, which is the most important of a dining experience. I mean honestly, everything was cool until it was time to pay. That's when all hell broke loose... So, we we're getting our cards out, getting ready to pay, when the waitress Alejandra, brought the check out and put everything on one check. My friend let her know that we'd like separate checks, because we're paying individually (it was 4 of us). Simple request, right? Alejandra then rudely told my friend that she couldn't because something was wrong with the system or something like that... My friend then asked, well why didn't you tell us this to begin with..? A reasonable question to ask, what? When we go to McDonald's, they have signs letting us know that it's card only or cash only and they let us know again when we reach the window. So, why weren't we notified. Alejandra then got an attitude, rolled her eyes, and asked if we wanted to talk to the manager. My friend said yes. So, the manager comes in defense mode (because Alejandra told her that we were mad, which we weren't... We just asked to split the check and a simple question), explaining the issue with the payment system. My friend was like okay, that's understandable, but you guys didn't have a sign or let anyone know or anything beforehand (which they didn't). We weren't given to opportunity to leave if we wanted to due to the payment issue. My friend went on to state how big of an inconvenience this was because she was paying with her business card. My friend then asked if the system for those sitting at tables was the same for those sitting at the bar... She then asked if they could just ring us up at the bar. The manager made up some crap excuse on why they couldn't do that, but through all of her rambling that didn't make sense (which was about 5 mins) she slipped and said that we could split the bill and pay individually at the bar but it'd take 20 mins to process. My friend then asked, "well why didn't you just say that to begin with instead of trying to argue with me when all we were trying to do was split the check to begin with, which you had the ability to do?!" So, the manager finally gave the waitress permission to split the check. But, she did it wrong... So, we had to wait even longer for her to correct it. FINALLY we all have our checks, and are ready to pay, but instead of Alejandra handing the mini clipboard into my friend's hand, she threw it, literally THREW it on the table and walked off! At this point, my friends and I are pissed. Like WTF My friend walks towards Alejandra to confront her and she threatens to call security on us!!! So, my friend goes back to where the manager was standing and was like yo, your waitress is buggin (my words), we're trying to pay and she threw the clipboard on the table!!! The manager is like oh, well I'd have to rewind the tapes to see if she did that or not... --___-- She didn't apologize, try to rectify the situation, or nothing... So, my friends and I are mind blown at this point! We can't believe what's happening! All of this because we asked to split the check...? Okay... This time around, they send us another waitress, Rachelle. And Rachelle was just a breath of fresh air, we joked and asked her why she didn't wait us to begin with, she explained she just had clocked in. We let her know about everything that happened and she listened, listen to listen and not respond like the so called manager and she apologized for everything that happened. She did what the fckin manager was supposed to do! Honestly, if Rachelle didn't come when she did, the outcome would've came out worse then it did. My friends and I honestly feel like because we're black and trying to correct an issue, we were automatically labeled as the "Angry Black Wom(e)n," and all we wanted was to split the check. There was no attitude or anything on our end, so we're confused to how all of this all came into fruition. The waitress Alejandra was rude AF and the manager was disregarding and absolutely no help! This experience took away from this beautiful rooftop view and the food. AND my birthday celebration!!! The atmosphere was hostile, there's absolutely nothing luxurious about being labeled as an "Angry Black Woman," and this dining experience was far from fun. Special thanks to Rachelle for leaving things on a bright note with us before our departure. If we ever decide to come back (which is a slim chance), we'll specifically ask for you and you only. Thanks again Rachelle!

Yelp
Seated and not noticed by wait staff for 30 minutes even though we attempted to wave them down several times. Waited another 20 minutes for the worst humus I've ever eaten. Ordered $6 well drinks and were over charged $12 for each drink. When this was brought to the managers attention she was extremely rude. The piano man was awesome and the ambiance was nice. Not worth it though to deal with the inattentive and rude staff.
