This place is the goat er… the dog. Had an amazing hot dog here today, snagged the last one before they sold out. They really put a lot of effort into high quality food and presentation and the owner is very nice. Hoping to get back tomorrow for their tendies

Dick’s is a a fun little food truck located in the downtown area of Idyllwild. It is seemingly the only food truck in town, but that’s okay because it is such a fun experience! There’s pretty much something here for everyone, including vegetarian options. A few of the hot dogs and one of the burgers can be made vegetarian which my partner and I appreciated. We each got an Alpine dog and the naked fries and everything was delicious. There’s a lil fire pit and some outdoor seating just out front of the food truck too, which is nice. Overall I definitely recommend Dick’s for an afternoon lunch spot if you’re looking for a nice bite to eat in Idyllwild. We’ll definitely be back next time we visit, thanks Dick’s!!

Super tasty gourmet dogs! Something different from the food options in Idyllwild. We got the Alpine dog and the Chicago dog, as well as fries. Food was tasty and fresh. Owner was kind and service was good. Music a little loud but enjoyed our visit.

I really like Ali at the hot dog stand at Lowe's. He is attentive and cheerful and very kind!! He always has a smile to brighten our day. His hotdogs are regular, polish or all beef it comes with chips and a medium drink when you make it a combo! My friend and I love coming here instead of Costco because Ali has All the condiment you can think of! My friend couldn't choose between Pepsi or Coke! And he gave her both! Which was a pleasant surprise! Kindness goes a long ways! Big shout out to Ali at Dick's Dogs in front of Lowe's!!!

The best secret smash burger anywhere. Ive tried all the top rated smashburgers in los angeles, and then randomly ordered the smashburger here at the hot dog truck in idyllwild and it blows them all away.

We are visiting from Washington state and saw Dick’s Dogs right downtown. What a wonderful place owned and operated by our friend Richard. Definitely a must try!!

I’ve been going to this spot for a few months now. I’ve gotten to know the owners and management very well && let me just say you will NOT find a better BURGER or CUSTOMER SERVICE anywhere else in Idyllwild. Their team is constantly finding new ways to make their food unique, tasty, and original! If you ever find yourself going through Idyllwild CA and are not sure what to eat; please give these guys a visit and I am more than confident they will not let you down. p.s. they got great music playing outside while you wait for your order. BIG BONUS!!

If you happen to be in idyllwild, give dicks dogs a shot. Top notch dogs! Shout to the guy given up. Outstanding service! I'll be going back whenever I'm in town.

Vegan Dick is always better ! My wife and I met Amy at the gift shop she and her husband Richard own right beside their hot dog stand. I just happened to mention that we were plant-based/vegan otherwise we would have tried their dogs! Amy said.. "oh, we HAVE vegan dogs- absolutely!" After a fun conversation where she explained how Dick's Dogs came about (a story worth discovering! ), we assured her we would be back to try them the next day! And... back we went.. Amy remembered us immediately and welcomed us with a smile and genuine gratitude. I ordered the Alpine on Amy's recomendation and my wife ordered the Chicago. We also grabbed a side of fries as well. The Alpine was a Beyond Brat with onions, peppers, sauerkraut, and mustard on a pretzel bun! DEEElicious! The Chicago- Beyond Brat with pickle spears, chicago style relish, onions, sport peppers, yellow mustard and celery salt on a poppy seed bun. The fries were absolutely delicious as well and served with home made ketchup and a spicy homemade ketchup as well! Absolutely delicious !! Both Amy and her husband Dick, couldn't have been nicer, kinder and more welcoming! My only suggestion would be to *please* let people know you offer vegan options with a sign!! Thank you, Amy and Richard, for your kindness and deeeelicious dick!!

Stopped by for lunch. It's a solid pick. Hotdogs and fries - how can you go wrong? The seasoning on the French fries was fantastic. Wish they would have put more. Highly recommend the "dick sauce" which is spicy ketchup. Service was pretty fast and seating is outside. It's hipster vibes all the way. There's parking across the way.

Friendly people. Delicious food! I got the dad burger and my husband got the Tijuana dog. The burger was yummy but I wish I had gotten a dog. Sorry I mean dick! They have very funny humor. Oh and we also got animal fries which was really good! I would get that over the burger next time but I'm just not toooo much of a burger person. It was really good though!

Dick's Dogs is tasty and fresh! I saw the corn dog and dirty fries (chili cheese) online even though they weren't posted on the menu. I inquired about them with the friendly employee and was told they're available. We also tried the Chicago dog. Everything was well portioned, fresh, hot, and yummy. The wait was a bit long on a busy Saturday afternoon but I can see why this is a popular food truck. Everything is made fresh and they aim to run out of homemade ingredients, so come earlier rather than later! There is also plenty of patio seating.

I was craving a hot dog real bad so I decided to check this place out. Dick's Dog is a blue food truck parked along the main stretch of Idyllwild. Picnic benches and umbrellas, and that's about it. Great place to people watch, great place to dog watch as well. Average dick: 5 stars. My favorite ! I love an all beef hot dog and if I didn't know any better, I'd say these are Hebrew national dogs - but don't quote me. Plump, juicy and subtle snap to to these boiled dogs! Delicious. The average dick comes with what every hotdog should come with: mustard relish and onion. That's it! 5 bucks and a couple minutes later, you got yourself a yummy hot dog. I love a good hot dog but don't buy them as often as I'd like. Dick's Dog is a treat and I recommend you guys check them out. Naked fries: 3 stars. Their secret dick rub is a sweet and savory seasoning for their fries. I could see how the seasoning would balance out the saltiness of the dog, but in my opinion, I prefer my fries just plain old salty. However, the fries were fried perfectly well, came out piping hot, but they Weren't my favorite. Others will disagree, but this is my opinion. I look forward to coming back for more! I also can't wait to check out their brunch.

Dicks dogs is fantastic! The go to is the average dick with naked fries but the dirty dick and fries are also great! They usually have creative specials and those are always delicious as well. They are super friendly and nice as well. Probably the only negative is the limited seating which can be a bit of a problem because they are often busy. But you can just take your dick down to the little park in the middle of the town circle or some other nice spot nearby

Fantastic hot dogs from a really friendly, professional guy. The wife and I had Alpine Dogs (regular for me; vegan for her), which comes with sauerkraut, mixed peppers & onions and really good grainy mustard on a pretzel bun. 10/10! Will definitely be back.

My wife and I ordered the Tijuana Dog and Alpine Dog while visiting Idyllwild for the day and promptly concluded they were the best two hot dogs we've ever had. The quality of ingredients and flavor combinations were just amazing. We also enjoyed the order of naked fries with onions and peppers. We will target Dick's food truck whenever we are in the area.

Love LOVE LOVE all things Dicks Dogs!!! We are lucky as locals to have a great option for fast fresh food that is just a wee bit naughty and makes cheat day a lot of fun. I adore taco Tuesdays and when my teen niece comes to visit a Dog is her first choice. Thanks for feeding me. Cannot wait til next Tuessay

One of THE best places to grab a quick and delicious bite in Idyllwild. The owners are lovely and the food is consistently fresh and yummy! Right next to the movie theatre in heart of downtown Idyllwild area. A must if you're in Idyllwild.

These guys are AWESOME! Personally, I come for the killer angus burger. Oh, and Taco Tuesday. Great service too - worth every penny.

I thought the price was reasonable. The dogs were solid. The fries were hot and seasoned perfectly. Really enjoyed the Dick's Spicy Ketchup. It was a nice spot to hang out while exploring downtown. The cashier was very friendly. Look forward to going back.

Food and service here are always outstanding. My wife and I have been to Idyllwild twice in the last 7 months and have made it a point to eat here both times we visited. I like it here for the food and service, not for their ability to throw out any trash I have. The person who left a bad review about not being able to throw out their trash sounds like they need more dick's in their life.

I was tempted to write the word 'dick' all over this review, but I have to seriously say these are some of the best hotdogs I've ever had. My family and I head up the hill into Idy a couple times a month and choosing our meal spots can be tough since there are some great restaurants up here. The Dick's Dogs truck is a must-stop. The folks who run it are awesome. They help tweak orders for my picky little offspring. I strongly recommend just ordering them the way they make them because they know what they're doing and create some incredible dogs! We love just chilling at their picnic tables and enjoying the crisp mountain air. Can't wait to see how many Dicks I can fit in my mouth next time!

As a vegetarian, I would typically write off a hot dog food truck. Not Dick's!! I am so stoked to have an option for quick lunch in town with so many veggie options. You can get any dog in a vegetarian form, they even have amazing vegan chili you can get on fries or on your dick. I've tried one of everything on their menu and my favorites are the TJ and Alpine. Ok, I might need another whole paragraph to profess my love for the dick sauce. It's a tangy, a lil spicy and sweet. The perfect sauce for fries. It's the best, so don't forget to ask for a side of it. Honestly, I would buy it if they sold it by the gallon. SO excited to have Dick's open in Idyllwild. We have needed more quick lunch options and a truck is the perfect thing for our small town. If they're not in their usual spot in front of Wild Idy, they are easy to track down via their instagram posts. They sell out when they sell out, so go early and eat a dick (or two!)

food was super yummy !! (even tho a lil expensive, but happy to support local bizz so it's worth it) & I wish I could bottle up the house-made thousand island sauce & take it home w me, soooooo goood !

First let me say I have had every Dick possible. When I lived in Idyllwild, this was my favorite spot for a quick and inexpensive bite. Both my boys would always ask me to pop over and pick them up some of their lovingly created menu items. The staff was always friendly and happy to serve the food any way that we ordered it, making it extremely easy as a parent to get quality items for even the pickiest kids. The truck is bright, very clean, and let's you enjoy the beauty of Idyllwild when eating it outdoors. The cleverness of their menu and marketing always made me laugh and eager to see what would come next. Take that last bit as an homage to their name. LOL

This is a great place to stop by and have lunch while shopping in Idyllwild. Quick service and good food.

Such good specialty (and standard) hot dogs! Truly a gem up there in Idyllwild. And they have corn dogs, smash burgers, and they do TACOs on Tuesdays! What more could you ask for?

Richard is packing a mean set of dicks in that light blue box of his . His hot dogs are first rate too ! Incredible quality and worth every cent ,or possibly he is under charging . I like to get the average dick , as my wife used to get, I banter with the character in the trucker hat and handsome mustache . I might be generous to myself with the average assessment but the average dicks dog is packing heat like a star on only fans . Allegedly . Are there even dudes on only fans other than the entire customer base ? Don't answer This is about how amazing and delish dicks dogs delivered to my palate . Ps I like how you angled the set up 44 degrees to the street . Seems more feng shui

The staff were kind, the food was delicious and the humor of this place was hilarious. They did get one of our orders wrong so not a five star experience but still would recommend and definitely would eat here again.

Amazing! The food is so good here. This is my go to spot on the hill for a cheeseburger or a hotdog. Must try the chili Fritos and dirty fries too. Cannot beat the quality or the price. Has a nice outside sitting area. Great service.

Wow just wow. Talk about a tourist trap. I just spent $14 for a TJ dog that was so ridiculouslu tiny. You know those 2 dollar hot dogs at Home Depot, yes that tiny. C'mon it's not like hot dogs cost that much. I will not be coming back here!

Very funny names and the food is good I want to try it again. Service was okay as well but they run out of things when they are close to closing.

Dick's Dogs is absolutely amazing! Not only is the food freaking delicious the staff is wonderful as well. The vibe is welcoming and fun. The food is to die for - my favorite is the Alpine Dick! Oh and don't even get me started on the Dick sauce. I wish they would bottle it! I love it on all the dicks and would definitely put it on all my food at home. Not only do they have amazing dogs (and a corn dog for my inner child!) the Dad burger is FIREEEE. I come from San Diego where there's a lot of smash burgers but the Dicks Dogs Dad Burger is just *chefs kiss* good. I love that they have something for everyone and put love into all that they do. I saw the advertisement and had to laugh as I read it, Dicks Dogs, Lol...There was a gathering so I decided to ask from my car, Lol...I was as answered you know what they say? I replied it's one of those Huh!!! He replied I'm leaving you can take my seat...I exited my car and was Happy to have tried it so I got another one...Dicks Dogs you gotta get to Idle Wylde and yryem off Highway 74 Hemet Mountains on the way to Hemet Lake !!! You'll agree it's Dicks Dogs...

Best spot for a Dick in Idyllwild! I've had plenty of dogs in my day, but Dick's has to be one of my personal favorites - the chili Frito's are a must as well! Make sure to also try the Dick's sauce on everything you order, it goes a long way. Friendly staff as well and hopefully you find yourself outside of tourist season because this truck will be packed. Make sure to check out the Wild Idy shop that owns the lot the truck is on while you wait!

I make it a priority to visit Dick's Dogs every time I'm in Idyllwild, because they serve such a delicious hotdog-my favorite is the Alpine Dick, but I also love their Mexican Dick. I've been lucky enough to have been in Idyllwild one morning when they were serving up some "test" recipes--and enjoyed an avocado toast that was delicious! They just have a way of combining the freshest ingredients in unique and tasty ways. Great people serving up great food!

What a great idea for a neighborhood "joint"! Tourists and locals alike grab a dog, sit, chat and enjoy. These are not gourmet fare, very basic but fairly priced. The folks in the truck preparing the food are friendly and everyone has a good time here.

These guys are great! Love the chili on the Dirty Dick, great flavor. Saw someone get a burger there too, and when I asked sometimes they do off menu items including smash burgers! I tried one and it was equally delicious. Definitely a great spot to check out!

I'm obsessed with their chilli dogs and would drive an hour up to Idyllwild just to eat here. The dicks sauce is a must try and the dirty fries are also so tasty and perfectly seasoned. I make sure to eat here every time I go to Idyllwild. The service is always quick and friendly and it was a whole vibe eating a chilli dog in the snow next to the colorful murals at wild Idy.

Absolutely disgusting. It's basically sloppy joes out the can on a hotdog. Took almost 20 minutes to put sloppy joes literally on a hot dog. 100% waste of money. -1/10
